Sion glanced over at her, eyebrow raising. "What makes you think I would want to dance....? A little random, don't you think?" he asked, glancing back at the light from the party that was still obviously going.

"Because I want to?" Myrie offered up with a smile. "It is random, but I really want to dance and there's nobody to dance with." she told him. "Besides, I want to dance with you?" she offered up.

Sion's eyebrows pulled together and he glanced again at the party. The little cove they were in was close enough that the music floated out to them, loud enough to be heard, but soft enough not to be distracting.

"....You want to dance with me? What makes you think I'm the kind of man who can dance at all? Maybe if I was one of your prissy little Winged men, I'd have taken lessons...." He smiled a little, folding his arms across his chest.

"But I don't want to dance with a prissy littled Winged man. I want to dance with you." Myrie pouted slightly. "Please Sion! I think you'll dance perfectly fine." she nodded.

She pulled some of her golden hair out of her face that had gotten there with the whole ordeal from earlier. At least her dress was still looking as lovely as it had earlier.

Sion didn't mention that he'd learned to dance at one point in his life. He'd rather see her surprised look when kept up just as well as any prissy Winged man would. Most surprising of all, he hesitated a beat then nodded. "Fine...." he unfolded his arms and held out one hand to her. "Dance with me then."

Myrie grinned as she took his hand. "Hooray." she laughed as she let her wings unfurl so she could feel more relaxed. One of her hands rested lightly on his shoulder as her other hand rested in his. She had wanted to do this for so long.

Sion smiled and shook his head at her grin, pulling her close. His hand slid around her waist at a very respectful height on her lower back, while his other closed around hers. He met her eyes, just standing like that for a moment before he began a very calm, simple dance to the music from inside. He kept her close, but still kept a reasonable distance between them, for propriety's sake. The song that was playing ended abruptly and a very soft ballad began, slowing Sion's dance even more... though there was not an ounce of tension in his body.

Myrie smiled at Sion as they began to dance, not surprised at how fluid his movements were. Oh he knew how to dance. He was just messing with her earlier. When the song seemed to slow, her steps shortened and slowed as she twirled around with him, enjoying every moment she could, knowing that he wouldn't agree to do this often.

At some point she had stepped a little closer, and was now close enough that if she wanted to, she could rest her head on his shoulder, but refrained from doing so since she knew it would mean ending the dance since she KNEW he would stop her.

Sion hadn't really noticed her proximity change, instead too focused on her beautiful eyes. She didn't always look at him as they danced to the soft ballad, but his eyes never left hers.

He couldn't justify the...calmness that she always brought to him. He couldn't rationalize the anger and ...fear... that he'd felt just a little bit ago. All he wanted was to see her smile... and that was...so.... ridiculous, coming from him. What did he care about a spoiled, stubborn Winged girl...? He didn't belong with her... he didn't belong in her pleasant little world, where nothing went wrong... where everyone was always happy. He was too bitter for that..... wasn't he? He was too far lost in his own unhappiness.... she deserved better than him....

If that were true... then why did he want nothing more at this point than to just be with her? Protect her... care for her... make her smile... It was irrational. Stupid even. But he couldn't talk himself out of these thoughts. Right now, holding her, even as nonchalantly as he was trying to be, felt.... right. It felt safe.... a feeling Sion never experienced, being who he was.

Myrie felt the world around her dissolving away as she danced with Sion. It was like there was nothing but just the two of them. Just how she wanted it. It was useless to deny it anymore. Everytime he looked at her, he made her pulse flutter, his smiles always taking away her breath. There was a reason she would always nag on him. It was just because she wanted to make him laugh, to goof off and pay attention to her.

Of course... he had already told her that it was wrong. It was too late, however. She was already head over heels with her Wingless friend. Why? She had no idea. I mean.... he was always causing her problems, and telling her no, and saying how stubborn and childish she was. Yet... she also saw that side that he hid away from everybody else. The protective, caring side. Just look at the way he had handled the situation earlier. Just thinking about it wanted to make her shudder in disgust, but having Sion's hands on her skin just made her feel enveloped in a cocoon of safety. He would take care of her as long as he was there. That gave her something to believe in.
