Sion kept his voice quiet, though it was HIGHLY amused and sounded like he just wanted to laugh. "This belongs to the Magistrate of the city... Karl Van Buren." He even suppressed a full-on smile as they moved up in the line. Soon, they were stopped and a regally dressed footman pulled open the carriage door, offering his hand for Myrie.

"Madame Kalfas, welcome," the footman said, bowing low. "We are honored to have you here this evening." He glanced sidelong at Sion. "And this is....? Your personal attendee? Normally we would require such....helpers to go along to the back of the home, but I've been forewarned that he is allowed into the party at the request of Madame Loire..."

Oh.... the poor dear. Myrie thought, wanting to wince in sympathy as she heard the name. The magister was how much older than Sion's sister?! What a horrible match. She didn't say anything on the matter, but she did catch the glint of amusement in Sion's eyes and wanted to say something, possibly even laugh at how silly he was being.

Instead, they had made it to the front, and the footman was offering her his hand as she took it and descended from the carriage. Bowing her head regally, she nodded at his question. "Indeed, he is to follow me tonight." she told him as she lifted her chin into the air and ascended into the party, hoping Sion was following close behind. Tonight was going to be so much fun...

The footman nodded at Sion as he got out and followed close behind Myrie, but far enough away to indicate his status below her...

It was nearly impossible for Sion to hide the smile as he saw the small group of people that were waiting outside the door. Obviously, the engagee's were receiving people at the door.... and he could see the crimson red of his sister's hair next to the salt and pepper of the Magistrate. He literally had to bite his lip as they progressed in the line.

Soon, it was their turn and Sion had been pushed a little closer to Myrie, simply by the agitation of the line behind him. The first one to see them was Sepheria, dressed absolutely regally tonight in a liquid silver dress, her long, straight tresses falling to her waist like a bolt of crimson silk. She wore a diamond studded circlet that kept it sophisticatedly off her face. Her eyes were rimmed in thin black lines and her lips were a soft pink. Other than that, she wore no make up.

"Myrie.... you came!" She smiled as best she could, though she tried to remain...sophisticated for the man next to her.

"Who is this, Sepheria?" he asked in a deep voice, raising an eyebrow. "I'm afraid I don't recognize her."

Sepheria looked at Myrie, then to the Magistrate. "This is Myrie Kalfas.... she is... a friend of mine." She glanced at Myrie, silently hoping this was good enough explanation.

Myrie smiled as she greeted Sepheria with a formal kiss on the cheek, catching her drift immediately. "Sepheria, it has been too long. Congratulations on your engagement." she smiled sunnily at them as she touched her hand to Sepheria's briefly to convey her indulgences is more like it.

"I am Myrie Kalfas, it is nice to meet you, sir." she nodded her head in respect to the magister. "You may have heard of my... trouble making friend, Kyrian Laskaris?" she asked with a quirk of her eyebrow.

Sepheria looked slightly relieved when Myrie caught on so quick. Perhaps she wasn't as bad as what she'd heard.... she was straining to see her brother, but he was hidden behind other people that were herding in.

"Kalfas.... mm, I'm sure I know your family somehow. I'm Karl Van Buren." He looked disinterested until she brought up Kyrian. "Ha... Laskaris... how could I not? I think everyone within a decent radius has been a victim of his childish behavior." He shook his head. "Like I told my Sepheria, it's best not to consort with such persons. Despite his rank, he abuses it. You're a very pretty girl, Myrie, and I don't think getting caught up in his antics would do you any positivity."

Sepheria sighed quietly beside him, but his sharp eyes caught it. "Is there a problem, dear?" he asked, tone innocent, but the undertones were too easy to catch.

"Not at all." She smiled, looking back to Myrie. "Your....attendant? Did....he come?" she asked quietly, just as Karl turned away to a far more 'important' family.

Myrie nodded at the magister's advice, pretending to look like she was taking it to heart, but as soon as he turned around, she rolled her eyes at him. Moron...

Looking back at Sepheria, she nodded as she moved around a little, shuffling her wings a bit so Sion was a little more visible. "Well... I couldn't leave the house alone." she offered a smile to the girl. "How did you meet Kyrian out of curiosity?" she asked just as quietly.

Sepheria strained to see Sion, but it seemed like he was constantly being hidden by the rush of people. She sighed and stopped looking so eager.

She looked back to Myrie with a shrug. "It was a brief meeting... I ran into him, literally, at a party. He mentioned knowing you well. Through word of mouth I managed to find out my brother was under your care.....so I inadvertently asked if he could tell me where to find you." She smiled just a little. "I hope that doesn't seem too......odd."

Myrie nodded as she briefly looked behind her for Sion. It was obvious that his sister wanted to see him, but it almost seemed like he was purposely hiding. Turning back around, she smiled encouragingly at Sepheria.

"That sounds like Kyrian, and I'm sure you'll run into him at the party sometime. Not Kyrian that is." she offered up. "Now... I better not keep your other guests waiting. It was nice to talk to you again." she smiled again before walking into the party, not really wanting to, but doing it anyways.

Sepheria just nodded as Myrie walked away. Sion had disappeared completely from her view, to which she frowned. A quick look from Karl changed that quickly and she was back to smiling and meeting people.

As Myrie entered the party, there were a few hellos but mostly just curious glances her way. She was mostly alone until she felt a brush on her arm. Standing just behind her was Sion apparently having appeared out of nowhere. "Isn't this fun?" he asked sarcastically, looking around the room. "What did my dear little sister have to say? Most unfortunate how I couldn't get around the people to greet her..." he smirked a bit but kept his head tilted slightly downwards.

Myrie looked over at Sion with a brief smile. "Hmm... weren't hiding were you? She was looking for you you know. I think she really wanted to see you." she told him conversationally as she looked ahead of her as she made her way through throngs of people. "And I'm having a blast." she added dryly. "Can't you tell just how much this is my scene? And oh lord... Kyrian is here. So much for a successful engagement party. I hope the magister likes chaos." she said as she nodded her head to her dark and handsome friend who was mingling with the people, and attractive, pearly white smile on his face.
