"... Yes... me too. I don't like being the cause of what upsets you, Myrie." He paused a moment and looked over at her. "I am sorry.... just so you know." He looked away quickly, his eyes turning back to the road in front of them rather than looking at her. It was hard...admitting he was wrong. He never did it... she was just... she deserved better than him being a complete bastard to her. |

Myrie smiled over at Sion, lifting her hand to briefly touch his arm before dropping it again. "I know you're sorry. I've never seen you go to such lengths to apologize. And I can see the sincerity in your eyes." she told him quietly as she looked at him before looking away. |

Sion glanced at his arm, though he didn't rightly pull it away like he would have... or should have. He met her gaze for a moment, but kept watching her when she looked away. For a moment, he wanted to just... But he shook his head, not even letting that thought finish. "So......" he glanced up as they rounded another corner and the market was in front of them, plenty of people both winged and non, in bargaining their way through. This was the one place in the city where it didn't really matter what was or wasn't on your back. |

"So..." Myrie repeated back as she looked around the market curiously, having never really been here before. "It's so crowded here..." |

Sion shrugged, "Just stay close to me. People here can be ruthless and there's always pickpockets around." He glanced over to her, then made a split second decision (without really thinking) and held out his hand for her to take. "I can't have you getting lost and mugged. I don't think your parents would like me very much for that..." |

Myrie smiled slightly at him as she nodded. "No... I mean... we don't want Aurelia stomping on your foot again." she teased him gently as she took the hand that he offered up, making sure to stick close to him. |

Sion rolled his eyes as he closed his hand around Myrie's lightly and walked into the market. There were booths and stalls set up everywhere, some even half on top of their neighbor, filled with people trying to sell everything under the sun. "What a beautiful lady!" called out one vendor, "Does the beautiful lady want some lovely jewelry? All hand made and completely real!" he cooed, waving Myrie over. Sion, having just realized he was holding Myrie's hand and leading her through this place, did a mental facepalm. You're such a moron. Could you be any more bipolar? he asked himself, feeling a bit strange holding her hand now. But he couldn't rightly drop it... that'd probably upset her for whatever reason things like that he did upset her. He looked back at her, crimson eyes meeting hers. "Just ignore them.... They'll probably be all over you..." |

Myrie smiled before looking over in surprise as the vendor addressed them. "Is every single one of them like that guy?" she asked him so only he could hear. "And this is... crazy. How do you people deal with this?!" she asked, pressing a little closer to him and feeling a bit claustrophobic. |

Sion shrugged again, "Yes, most of them are like that. Some are even a little grabby..... but we aren't going down that far." He pulled her out of the way of guy running with some boxes. "Careful... That happens a lot too. Here... we're going this way. It's a little less crowded down here." He led her down a slightly less crowded alley, lined with stands full of every fruit, vegetable and whatever's in between. He stopped at one in particular and the man looked up. "Sion!" he said with a toothy grin. "Good to see you again, m'boy. Oh? Who's this?" he asked, voice thick with implication. "Never mind who she is, do you have what I want?" Sion asked, directing the conversation back to the merchandise. "Ah, to business as always. You know, you're inevitably my favorite customer... always so ripe and keen to bargain. You know what you're doing, you do." "Of course I do. Can I see what you have?" Sion asked, voice abrupt and almost hinting at rude. The man grinned and pulled out a basket with an array of vegetables and fruits. "Only the best for Sion. I hand picked them out." His eyes darted to Myrie again, noticing her wings and that they were holding hands. "So, Miss, you look a little shocked. Never been, have ya? Well, you just know that I'm the best vendor around these parts." "Don't talk to her, talk to me." Sion caught him again and the man's beady eyes darted back to Sion. "I'll take them. My normal price then." He pulled out a small bag of money. "Uh... well, you know Sion m'boy, prices are going up around here. Bad crop from the east's driven prices sky-high you know. Those of us without wings can't rightly get up there to bring 'em down now can we?" he guffawed and looked at Myrie again. Sion shook his head, "Last week you said there was a bad crop in the south. Give me my price or else I can always go somewhere else." He looked over his shoulder at the massive amounts of stalls with the same product. "...Alright, alright! Such a good bargainer, he is, isn't he sweet thing?" he said, taking the money from Sion, but looking at Myrie. "Would the pretty lady like something else for the road?" he asked, waving his hand over his product. "Anything the pretty lady would like, it's hers, if only she gives me her name..." |

Myrie watched Sion bargain, almost wanting to smile at how blunt he sounded. Heh, that would be the Sion she first met. She had done some pretty decent work on him if she said so herself. She looked over at the vendor, feeling a little nervous as she shook her head. "My name's not all that important." she said as she squeezed Sion's hand gently to let him know she was ready to go. She didn't really like it here in this place. One knew experience she knew she didn't like. What would be next? Asher showing up to make a scene? Luckily, this wasn't really his type of scene... |
