"Your father yes, but it is your great-grandmother I know most of. Her blood and her... lovers flows through your veins. It sings to mine ears young Cromwell. Surely they told you this, did they not?" Maeve tilted her head slightly as she waited for an answer, Rafe wearing a confused expression on his face while Lira blatantly studied her surroundings curiously.

Tory took another breath in before nodding, "I've heard the stories, m'lady. I am aware of the blood which pumps though me at this moment." she answered her in the same tone of voice, "and it is with this knowledge I please ask you pardon our unintentional wandering into your lands and we'll be on our way. We mean no harm, I swear to that."

"Pardon you? I do not doubt you meant not harm child, but now that you are here, you must stay for the festivities while I ask you and your companions questions of the outside world. It has been quite some time since I have last traveled outside my home. Much has changed of the human world, has it not? I must also ask of your great-grandmother."

Victoria sighed, "With all due respect, m'lady, we aren't dressed for any festivities you're so gracious to offer, and of my great-grandmother I must tell you now what I know is very little. My mother died when I was a young age and my uncle was too young when she died to remember much. Something I know, I fear you already have learned."

"Oh no, I insist that you and your companions stay for the festivities. I'm sure you all deserve a break." Maeve told her guests, her voice still soft an alluring, but with a slight edge of steel that was meant that she would not accept no for an answer. Rafe wanted to curse, but he kept his head lowered and his face impassive. This was not good...

"Plus, I must learn more of your companions. They each have such interesting blood. Dragon and noble, noble... you are all such interesting people. It makes me wonder why you are here." she asked them, ignoring Tory about the part of her already knowing the answer.

It took all Tory had and a pinch more to keep her cool. Finally, she raised her eyes, holding her ground firmly, "I understand you're feelings, but you know as well as I what would be to happen if I were to accept your offer on behalf of the others." Her eyes didn't make direct contact with the Queen's but they were close. She knew she wouldn't be affected, but the others, to put it plainly, would be screwed....

"My companions are of little to no consequence to your race. We were misdirected and stumbled upon your lands. I offer you my deepest apologies but at the moment in time we must be on our way."

Maeve's glance sharpened briefly, but it did not take much for her face to become impassive once more. "No... I insist young Cromwell. I will make sure that nothing of consequence happens to thy companions, but I would not mind a few tales of the human world. There is a reason you were brought into my forest, stumbled or no. Unless you wish to disobey a direct order?" she asked Tory, raising her eyebrow ever so slightly, her voice not betraying her manner at all.

Rafe breathed in silently, know at what a sticky situation they were in right now. If Tory refused....

Tory slowly quirked an eyebrow of her own, "A direct order, m'lady? I was under the impression it was merely an invitation, an extension of your hospitality. Aside, the reason we're here is my companion's lack of skill at reading a map, no immortal hands guided us to this place."

"Oh really? It does not have to be my hands, young Cromwell, that does the guiding. Remember that. Now... shall we join the festivities?" she asked as she stood up suddenly, moving so fast that Lira had to blink several times.

Her guards then came to attention as well as they all stared at the party, waiting for the answer. Rafe stood up as she looked at Tory.

Tory held her ground, unmoving, playing the Queen's game, "Not you're hands? Oh I assure you I understand you're meaning, if you did, indeed, intended on issuing that statement as a form of a verbal threat to my companions and I. To which I must humbly point out you yourself just promised us no harm." she said sweetly, ignoring the woman's questions.
