I really don't know what it is, but I find the way MMOs play to be frustrating. Perhaps it has to do with budget or some other roadblock. But MMOs are just so... detached.

When I play a quality single/multiplayer game it is fluid. It flows. It's sometimes even immersive. The combat easily moves from one enemy to the next. The animation looks nice.

When I play an MMO it feels kind of choppy and awkward. I feel detached from the game. Even if the graphics are pretty, the mechanics of the game tend to kill the immersive feel. Your character will walk right through things, their feet will get eaten by the ground, battles (whether point-and-click or FPS style) feel glitchy. While fun, most MMOs don't have a 'real' video game feel. And I truly don't understand why they shouldn't have fluid gameplay. My best guess is limited budget, laziness, or they're trying to keep PC requirements reasonable.

This is what an MMO should play like. Continent of the Ninth is a Korean MMO.

That looks okay I guess. I haven't bothered with the MMO genre in general, because I know my internet connection would cause serious lag at all times.

Yeah, I figured that would be a problem for you. Which really sucks. I remember when I was on dial-up, been there, don't like it.

Once I move (which will be shortly after I get a job in town) I'll be able to get some better internet.
