It's been done a million times before. I dare say it even leads to e-slaughter when the topic is broached. But in reality it all comes down to a matter of opinion. So I ask: Which modern console is the best? (In your opinion...) Sony's PS3, Microsoft's Xbox 360, or the Nintendo Wii? And why? |

Nintendo Wii most definitely. Not saying 360 or PS3 don't have good titles of their own, but Nintendo has too many first part excellents for me not to side with them. Plus, I grew up on Zelda. Gotta stay loyal, amirite? |

I'm probably going to have to lean towards the PS3. I've never gotten to play the Xbox 360, so I can't factor that in, but the pay-to-play-online thing is a real turn off for me. The Wii, while great, doesn't really have a ton of games I'd really like. Intuitive, but not my cup of tea (so how did I end up owning one instead of the PS3? XD ) However, Sony should not have ditched backwards compatibility. Shame on Sony. :/ |

Keep in mind that people tend to have much less issues with lag or dropped games when online with an Xbox. You get what you pay for after all :p (Can't say I even bother with online gaming with the Wii...) |

zomg, the (borrowed) wireless internet in the game room worked decently for online play with the PS3 and is crap when I try to Smash Bros. online. And I hate friend-codes... But otherwise the Wii is great <.< |

Yeah, friend codes are a pain, Nintendo dropped the ball big time there. |

I really feel like Wii shouldn't be in it, since it's in a whole ball park on it's own, and it's pretty brilliant. That aside, I would have to say Xbox 360. I guess I could be considered a fangirl, but to me, it beats everything that the PS3 has to offer, and has more. Sure it has some set backs, but it's such an amazing console with so many things to offer, I think that you could put them to the side. It's got the top games, the most hardcore hardware, and amazing live play. Paying for live isn't anything to worry really, since you pay for quality, not for the sake of just playing online. It plays any DVDs with netflix straight from the console dash, and it has social networking sites. Really, it's all you could ever ask for in a console. I feel like just because it has hardware issues, people shouldn't overlook what this console has to offer. That's my speal. haha. |

Hydro makes some good points, about both Wii and 360. Nintendo has said before that they're not interested in competing with Microsoft or Sony, and I think that shows from their first party games. They're not trying to copy anyone, ya know? They're just doing their own thing, and doing it brilliantly. I still want a pokemon MMO though >.> |

Haha, Pokemon MMO. I agree. But sadly, the PS3 is attempting to compete with the Wii, by doing family games and such. And same with the 360, but not as much as the PS3. I think they need to stay in their cubicals and calm down. XD |

A pokemon MMO would rockzorz so much. If they do realistic battles that is. And take size into account when considering how strong a pokemon is. So, say you have a level thirty nine Oddish. It's still not going to be able to take out that level fifteen Onix. No way. So to get some of the bigger pokemon, you'd have to get a team of trainers to help take it down. |

Hmm interesting. The closest MMO to pokemon was pokemon Colosseum for GC, which could have been great if it was made into an MMO. |

It's still turn based though, isn't it? |

hm, yeah. Haha. I think it should stay turned based. It's just not Pokemon without turns.
