The ballroom was dark. The only light coming in was the dull glimmer of the cloudy day. In the center of the empty ballroom was a man lying on the ground with his eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling. It was still day, so he was in his human form. He had a wide smile on his face. What could possibly be going through his mind? Was he waiting for someone? Was he sleeping with his eyes open? No. He was just staring at the ceiling, imagining a world where he roamed free and sank his fangs into flesh, blood, and bone.

"What a day.." He took in a deep breath and then snarled his breath out. Did anyone even know he was here? There was no need to be in the ballroom. He could be training right now.

Loneliness never fades away...

Selena wasn't suppose to be here, and yet she roamed the area. It wasn't as if she could keep away from the place she had once called home and determined to call it such once more, she knew the risks of ever returning to the place before her banishment was lifted, they were rammed into her skull before she was forced to leave. But she had been called for her presence here by an unknown source, where she was to meet someone to discuss her current state of banishment, though she was oblivious if the messanger was friend or foe she was desperate to return, especially since the meet was to be private and would only take a moment of her time.

The Lycan had snuck through the wall, evading the guard's notice and manuevered herself around the familiar terratory with ease, arriving earlier than the scheduled time, wanting a few minutes to let Baldicthe sink into her skin. Though she wasn't expecting someone to be there...

Maekaiu took a large sniff of the air and snarled out the breath.

"Aaah... Suddenly it smells like showtime.."

As he was lying flat, his feet met the floor, then slowly, his entire body began to rise. And no, he didn't place his hands on the floor and push up. His own ankles rose him up all creepy and slowlike. Then he turned his head around slowly, not turning his body, much like an owl. Again, slow and creepy.

He took a deep smell in from the air again, then turned fully around.

"To what respect may I thank for this visit? If the visitor shall present itself, I would LOVE a good hunt... but I'm sure whoever is here isn't supposed to be anyway. Neither am I. Afterall, we wouldn't want to make too much noise now would we?"

Selena almost gagged at his scent, he smelt of blood, lots of it. Though it wasn't like Vampires who core scent was blood, it was enough of a caution that this Lycan could very well kill her, and it seemed he desired such. She shuddered at his overall creepiness and wondered when the Lycan who was said to meet her arrived, hopefully soon. "I am not looking for a fight."

It was like a mouse telling a lion not to eat it, yet she spoke them anyway, clearly stating her intention with a calm voice and expression. If they engaged in a fight, it would be obvious to whom would fare badly, especially since she lacked her bows and arrows.

"Well, if not a fight, then what.. or who, rather are you looking for?" He began to creepily walk around her somewhat hunched over. Not like he's hurt or has a disability. But more like he was about to get on all fours and dash. He had a big grin on his face like it was nobody's business. He eyed her down like a fresh meal delivered to a beast.

"Ah, don't worry cutie... I don't bite.." He stops for a moment and leans up, putting his hand on his chin, with his grin, the girl can see his natural canines.. on all of his teeth.. it almost looks as if he has two sets of them too..

"Well, I admit, I do nibble alot. Nah, I'm screwing around. I bite.."

It seemed he was oblivious to who she was, much to her relief, being banished some Lycans would find it acceptable to kill her outright once caught within forbidden premises, or maybe this Lycan did know and was going to claim a so called 'right,' or maybe he really didn't know and was going to kill her anyway. The thought made her tense. Her hand dropped, hovering over the hilt of the dagger strapped around her waist, she had enough sense not to enter the area unarmed and she was hoping not to use it upon a fellow Lycan, but it seemed that would not be the case. "I'm looking for someone not of your concern... Who are you?"

He smiled wide at her question. He then began chuckling to himself. The chuckling grew to laughter, but then the laughter ceased.

It was now very evident that he had two sets of razor sharp canines.

"I am Maekaiu, registered nut job... Quoting the doctors, shamans, friends, and family themselves..." His eyes widened as he began to step towards her. "I don't remember ever being human.. Which is nice because they're so fragile and... delicious.. In fact, Lycans aren't that bad either. But that's besides the point.. How do you now if the man you are looking for hasn't already stopped by?"

Maekaiu... Maekaiu... Oh dear lord... Almost immediately she realised who he was, though she had never crossed paths with him before her banishment, she had heard enough of whispers and warnings from adults and wild stories from her peers to know that she should never cross paths with him.

And she just did...

She should bolt out of the room right now before he decided he would take a bite out of her, but her feet remained glued to the ground out of... Fear? It seemed most plausible, yet the most unlikely. Despite being in the presence of a cannablistic, mentally unstable Lycan that could kill her any second now, she managed to hold onto her calm disposition in both stance and voice. "There would be a fresher scent in this place other than yours."

"Well I don't know.. I always thought I was good at cleaning up.." He grinned really wide as he began walking around her. What a beautiful little meat.. So tender.. So fresh.. But did he really want to make a mess out of the ballroom? Yes. But that would probably get him tracked. Bad. So he shrugged off a little as he began to walk away from her. He took a small piece of paper and started writing on it with a small pencil. He then smiled as he wrote it. Then he put the pencil away and walked towards Selena. Handing her the paper, he said. "Here is a list of things. Go into the market an buy them. Then return here. If you do not return these things..." He leaned in and breathed real deep, locking in the scent. "I will find you.."

The list comprived of
2 loaves of bread
2 pounds of beef
2 pounds of chicken
and 2 pounds of steak
All raw

Selena frowned as she stared at the list, sure she could run to the Baldicthe markets and get these items for him, but that would mean being culled upon the spot. She held no currency anyway to obtain the items and never had she been to the markets outside of Baldicthe, always getting what she needed through the Wild Lands. "Do I have a time limit on this?"

It did not matter if there was such, she was one of the fastest Lycans and would easily outrun him to the Wild Lands, where there laid an abundant of herbs that would easily neutralise her scent, not only that, she could hide from him with ease. As a pup she had played hide-and-seek with her litter mates, always she was the seeker, for they knew that if she hid, they'd search for weeks yet they wouldn't managed to catch a whiff of her.

He looked in her eyes. Apparently she wasn't showing much fear, which is generally good against a predator, but only if you can take him. He laughed at her question. "Well I'm actually kind of hungry now.. We can always play tag.. With our teeth." Maekaiu generally liked games. Only because he thought he'd never lose. He was hungry now. Her smell treated him. Allured him. She smelled so fresh. But wait, there was another scent on her. One that's foreign and didn't quite fit...

While sniffing for a moment in her face, he perked up his ears.
"What, or who, is that?"

At his words, she perked up her ears, it didn't sound like anyone was approaching the area, much to her chargain, she would prefer that the Lycan she was to meet would barge in the room right now and chase Maekaiu away back to training or wherever he was suppose to be. "What do you mean?"

Selena knew that the very surface of her skin held the scent of demon, of Xorad. She had grown accustomed to his scent that she hadn't thought to remove it before entering Baldicthe, especially due to the rumours that surrounded her people about demons. If she had she would've thought that they would dismiss it as it was only upon the surface and was very faint.

He leaned in and smelled a good one more time. Just barely catching the scent again, but more closer to her neck.

"You stink of wet rag or some kind of mold.. Are you sick? Its faint, but I'm not stupid. Bleh." He backed up away from her and gave her this disgusted look.

"I don't know how I didn't catch that before. How did I not.. Must be your hair masking the scent." He walked towards the window as the clouds began to clear. The moon was not full today, but it was waxing. He looked at her once more and smiled. "I love nights like this.. makes me anticipate the next one."

She inwardly sighed in relief as he backed away from her, though his assumption was very much wrong, if it kept him away she might as well play along with it, until the person arrived. "Yes, I have an illness, though many not know I have it, many fail to smell it off of me... And its very contagious."

Seeing him stare out the window, she followed his gaze to the moon, in only a few days would it be a full moon, a beautiful sight it was, but a mere sight for her would release the wolf that humans spoke of in their tales.

As soon as she said that it was contagious, there was a certain ring in her voice that just was humerous to him. As he laughed a little, he turned to her.

"I can smell bullshit a mile away. Even if it's not a sickness, I'm not going to touch you with the Godawful stench..." He then jumped on the window edge then thought of something mean and fun.

He howled very loudly. It echoed through the halls and was capable of attracting the attention of a million guards.

"Goodbye." He said as he jumped out the window and into slid down the wall. If she were to look out the window, he would already be out of range and seen running on all fours as a human.
