Sweat, blood, tears. This man was working himself to the bone. Nexus would not stop training until he thought he was ready to fight that woman of dark blood. There he was, in the forest next to the bottom of a waterfall, training hard but seeing how far his blade could go inside of a tree, and how fast his arms really are. Nexus continuously sliced away at a giant oak stree next to the water. "HNNGH, HAH, HNGH, RAH, HYAAAAAGHHH" Nexus was shirtless, sweat pouring down his body. His last blow ended with both of his swords stabbed into the tree. He then pulled both of them out. His first sword was the blade he began with. The other blade was a black steel blade that he bought recently. After that display of power, he fell on one knee and started panting. He put his blades in their hilts and went over to the water to drink. Afterwards, he went under the waterfall and let the water slam down on him. Edited by Nexus, May 30 2011, 01:22 PM.

Raksha had gotten into the habit of roaming outside of Druid territory out of curiosity. The outside world was not like that of the forest, there were many things to be learned. Unfortunately, many of the things that she was taught in Ewynd were not respected outside of their Haven, and that infuriated her to her core. One such thing was the humans hacking away at the trees like little parasites, like the man she had been watching for the past several minutes. Waiting a minute or two while the man was standing in the waterfall, Raksha climbed down the face of the rock behind the water as quiet as possible, sneaking up behind the human. Stepping silently into the water, she placed the tip of her dagger to his throat, half hoping he would lurch forward and end it without effort. |

Since Nexus was training to fight a vampire, not only was he showering, but he was training his perception. The water falling on his back stopped falling, while the water on his head continued. This was already a red flag. When this woman put her dagger against his throat, he shook a little, but did not lundge. He continued to sit for a while. Then, his eyes bursted open as he grabbed the woman's arm and tried lifting it away from his neck. Keeping a firm, strong grip on the woman's wrist, he spoke. "If this is the vampire from last night.. I know you can do better than that.." He held his position and awaited the woman to make another move. He would not leap out hastily until he knew for sure who or what he was dealing with. The woman's arm did not resemble the arm of his acquaintance from last night. He felt a little worried and realieved at the same time. |

Drawing out her claws as she took on her Demi-Spirit form, she whispered in his ear, "I don't think you want to do that, human." Her muscles rippled as they strengthened to that of a panther, claws extending from her fingertips, and elongated sabers took the place of her canine teeth. Similar to a fabled were-cat, she was stronger than she would ever be in her original form. "A vampire would not have let you live if it was as angry as I am." She settled her claws against the soft flesh on either side of his spine near the base of his neck. If he tried to move again, she would rake her hand down the length of his back. He would pay for being a parasite. |

The hands grew.. fur? Claws extended from the hands of his attacker and Nexus was now very nervous. He wasn't sure quite how to handle this situation, since moving with claws against his back isn't the best option, He decided to do what he has no choice but to do. Negotiate. "Well, I see.. What can I do for you?" He wasn't sure what to think of his attacker. This MIGHT be a lycan, but he didn't know for sure. Not a vampire.. What could she be? Why was she attacking him? "What are you.. If you don't mind me asking. Am I not free to train here?" |

"All of you stupid humans ask so many stupid questions. You know nothing and you openly attack your Mother. Such arrogance." This Druid had a particular hate for humans that stretched back to her childhood, though that had nothing to do with why she wanted to kill this one. At least, that is what she told herself. Deciding it was better and more amusing to see him flail for answers, she would not grace him with knowledge of her nature. "No, not the way you are training, you are not permitted to destroy what little your kind has left alone." The feline in her wanted to toy with her prey for as long as possible. Maybe if he amused her, she might be merciful and let him leave with his life. |

"I see.. Well if your referring to "Mother" as the queen of life, then I have my own little philosophy.. You see, humans were created to extend knowledge, intelligence, and peace throughout the land. The Mother provides us with wood, fruit, and much well needed energy. We love the mother.. We do. I do.. What I was doing previously was using that broad, strong oak tree to hone my skills. You see, evil has visited me, and it plauges the mother's land. I was practicing my abilities so that I may cleanse the mother's earth. Now, I do understand that you must want to do the same, correct? You wish to cleanse the evil?" He adjusts himself slightly, still scared. "I meant no harm.. I promise. I respect the mother and all of her creations. Let me live. I swear that there are more evil ones, worse than me, then you can possibly imagaine.. By allowing me to live, I can help you destroy evil, with evil. Doesn't it suprise you that we are fighting on the same side?" He closes his eyes, hoping that his words have reached out to this woman. Edited by Nexus, May 30 2011, 02:26 PM.

"You speak as though you are innocent, yet your actions are a crime among my people. Marring the forest, any living creature that has done you no harm, including the trees, would mean death. You say that we are on the same side, but I can smell the dead on you. If evil's name is Vampire then you will get no mercy from me. Because of you pathetic humans, there is to be a war with all races as proclaimed by the Blood Queen." She wanted him to be scared, wanted him to tremble. "As for destroying evil, does it surprise you that I do not hate Vampires? I have met one of their princes and lived to tell the tale. They only prey on your kind, which is reason enough for me to take their side. They have no need to destroy trees, set fires, hunt animals that did not need to die, they thrive on those that do. If there is any real reason that I should spare you, then I suggest you speak quickly." Humans, necessary. The though nearly made her laugh. They were one of the most feeble races without any redeeming skills. The Tsawal at least had their brilliant minds to make up for their weak bodies. Humans had nothing. |

Nexus stopped shaking. "Enough." He turned his head around and glared the woman in the eyes. "Dying is one thing. Not being able to do anything about it is another, but listening to the discrimination of my race WHILE I'm going to die? I'd rather die now.." He quickly grabbed his blades and dodge rolls to the left, taking a small scratch of the womans claw against his bare back. He unsheathed both of his swords, held his black steel blade in his back hand, while holding his standard sword backhanded in front of his face for defense. He was tired of this mess, he was either going to run, die, or something. "I'll be happy to die. But I will not stand for this discrimination ANYMORE!!" |

"At least you have a spine, in that sense you are a credit to your race." She could have tightened her grip on him, but this was far more entertaining. Silently wondering what he thought of her demi form, she shifted her grip on her dagger. It would have been easier to just shift completely, but then she would have to rip his throat out, and she rather liked the banter. "You think your race is owed everything, you do not listen to those that would seek to educate you on your crimes and you do that to a being that cannot fight back," she said, motioning to the oak he mutilated. "This winter that tree is going to crack along the trunk and die because of what you have done. While I am biased against your kind, it was nothing but the truth that I spoke. Your kind have razed whole forests to the ground, chopped hundreds of others, and sought to kill all who have gotten in your way. Am I not being accurate?" For now she would not attack, rather wait and see what he did with the chance to escape. If he ran she would shift and kill him, if he did not, well, she would see how articulate the man could be with his response. |

Nexus lowered his weapons. "First off.. we are not all the same." He took a step towards her. "Secondly, not all of us block out reason, and you think that we believe that we're owed everything? NOBODY GAVE A DAMN ABOUT ME!! I WORKED FOR MY SKILL! I bought my own weapons, my own armor, I trained like a DOG to get as good as I am now. I worked hard for EVERYTHING I OWN. Never, ONCE, did I ask for an OUNCE of gold.. I'll admit. I STOLE for that much.. But I stole from humans that were worse than me, making me as bad as them, but did I care? NO!? I EARNED that money that I took.. Stealing is a skill.. Fighting is a skill. TAKING is how we survive.. We take from EACHOTHER more than we do from ANYONE else. We build from trees, such as the oak, in hopes that it will provide shelter for us to live on to the next day. WE DON'T BURN FORESTS FOR OUR LEISURE!!" He throws one of his swords into the water and feircly clenches the black steel sword with both hands. "We work.. HARD.. Nobody owes us anything.. We take, THE ONLY reason we don't ask, is because we don't know who to ask. Imagine if all of the races worked together, then we wouldn't have this problem. We could all live from the land and let the trees grow. But nobody showed us remorse. To live, we stole, we took. Do we have regrets? Some of us do. I do. Others don't. But I will live as I can. With what I worked for. Nobody GAVE ME anything. So don't lable me as one of those other dogs that you see us as.." |

"You think that you're the only one that had to fight for what you have?" Raksha had to be very careful here, the human had opened the floodgates of rage. Fighting to stay calm, she continued, "Humans took my mother, killed her. She had done nothing, she was hunting as was her duty in our tribe. Unprovoked murder is the legacy of humanity. Your kind..." she trailed off. She would not share that pain with this man. There was no reason to know the sorrow and loss that was like a canyon in her heart and soul. She began again weakly, shifting back to her original form and clutching her dagger until her knuckles were bone-white. "Your kind are cruel, even if you are not. There is a darkness in every heart, a corruption that is evident in humans stronger than any other race. It would be nice for all to work together, but it will never happen and your kind lash out at other races out of fear and misunderstanding. Nearly a century ago there was almost a war between the humans and the water-dwellers. The Naga had done nothing to the humans, only been attacked because humans thought it was 'evil.' The ignorance is what will kill your kind." Even though her words had avoided her memories, her mind had not. She was reliving every wound, every feeling of self-loathing and disgust that was caused by humans, memories she could not escape. |

"..Then allow me to break the chain of our habits." He put his blade down, held out his arms and took a step towards the woman. "If.. striking me down will truly bring you justice, then I can't argue. But, I'm not going to fight you, for you have done nothing to me. The scratch on my back is considered of my own doing since I have brought it upon myself, but I will not hurt you. Or anyone of your kind. If the trees are considered your kind, then I will step aside." Although it may cost him his life, he felt compassion for the woman. By letting go of his weapons, he was trying to prove that he was not a threat. Hopefully she would see this. If she let him go, then he would take his blades and leave. Otherwise, she would strike him. Would he retaliate? No, he's not a threat. |

His actions were commendable, he was merciful and actually made an effort to understand, though none could understand the deep connection between Druids and the forest. He was truly a credit to the human race. "If only they were all like you, there would be no problems." If she achieved no more than opening old wounds and making this man see his race from the outside and his one wrong-doing. "I will not strike you down for the wrongs of others, and I will not take out my fury on you. You are not the one who killed my soul or my mother. So long as you no longer defile nature you are free to go." Raksha dropped her dagger and backed into the waterfall, letting the water obscure her face so that he would not see how morose she felt, her face would not betray her this time. |

Nexus let one of his arms fall as she backed into the waterfall. He tried to reach out to her, but she was already gone. He hung is head and let out a deep breath. "Humans.. Your name of a race has forsaken me. I'm going to drag our race to glory weather they like it or not.." Nexus picked up his black blade and dived into the water for his other one. Once he gathered his belongings, he drank from the waters and examined the marks that he's made on the tree. He places his hand over the marks and kneeled at the tree. Praying to the Mother of the Forest to forgive him. With that, he traveled on the path back to Stronferth. Edited by Nexus, May 30 2011, 03:44 PM.
