Dator moved along the rows of tomes and scrolls covered with dust from the constant years of resting on the wooden shelves. Dator loved the library the smell of ancient books, the sense of the knowledge floating in the air, and the finding of books that reveal a greater truth made him happy and this was like his element. His robe, with a rope around his waist to keep it from moving too much, was gliding over the library floor as he moved. His arm extending out to place books back in their correct spots. His arms were filled with books and scrolls of different sizes and each one containing different facts and information. Dator turned a corner and started down another row aligned with books. He took in one deep breath through his nostrils. The smell of books some old and some new filled his nose and a small smile went across his face.

Dator continued his daily ritual of placing the books in their sports; once people borrow them they tend to leave them on the tables of place them in the wrong spots. Dator was there to aid the librarians in keeping the Library of Strongferth organized, because disorganization leads to a mess, and a mess leads to chaos, and chaos leads to destruction, so Dator was doing some good spending countless hours wandering the library aimlessly placing books in their correct place. His supply of misplaced books was dwindling as the minutes passed. Soon, the number of books and scrolls were none and Dator was finished. He fiddled with the robe as he walked and retied it because all that constant motion made it become loose.

Dator walked past more books until he reached a large desk covered in large books, papers, and other small trinkets the librarians owned. He stood here starring aimlessly at a visitor who sat at an area filled with desks and chairs for reading or researching needs. The young boy was flipping through a large tome and had a paper next to him. Every now and then he would scribble a few words and quickly so back to scanning the pages. In his head he was debating whether he should ask the boy if he needed aid. Dator was spending most of his time talking to himself within his own head he was not looking at the boy. Once he came back to the real world the desk was empty the large book and the young boy gone. He must have walked out while Dator was debating within himself. He shrugged that off and walked behind the desk. Sitting in the squeaky chair he scooted closer to the desk and opened a book.

The faded brown leathered bound book held the secrets of Dator’s profession. He was a Necromancer and in this book was simple spells and rituals that made his magic happen. He knew most of them by heart, but when it came to saying them out loud he got very nervous and would mess up the order. Closing the book with a sigh he surveyed the lower floor. It was dead silent; the only person in the library was Dator. Pushing the shabby book aside Dator reached for another book that was on the table. He pulled it closer to himself and opened it, sending dust into the air. Using his hand, he moved the small particles out of his air space and looked down at the book. This book was on a random subject that Dator had interests in; it was about the life of one of the many races that lived in Enthesia. It was about the Tsawal, who are rather odd and probably viewed as the weakest of all the races. Dator read the book flipping through the thin pages as time passed. His life was simple, yet he earned for more, but he could never gather up the strength to leave this sacred place.

Dator’s head shot up as he heard footsteps echo throughout the library. He looked around, but saw no one. “Must be my imagination,” he muttered to himself as he moved his attention back to the rather lengthy book about the Tsawal race. As he flipped through the book, he got to a page and noticed someone ripped this page out. He grunted in disgust and closed the book and tossed it onto the desk sending some papers in the air and slowly floating on the stone floor. He got on his knees and started to pick up the papers reaching out to grab the ones that floated a good distance. He heard what sounded like someone walking, but pushed the thought back blaming it that he was just hearing things.

Marcas Killeen

Marcas had arrived at the Library. He came in hopes of finding information on his family. He found the Heraldry that represented his family on a parchment in his house. Everything is going to fast, he finds out that he is descendant of nobility in Stronferth and also that his mother is still alive out there somewhere in the world. He walked up to a librarian and asked her. "Excuse me I am trying to find information on the family Killeen. Do you know where Family Documents are?" The librarian took out a paper. "They are over there good sir." She said pointing down the aisle labelled 'H' Marcas then began to walk down the aisle scanning the shelves for anything to do with his family.

Marcas found something on a book with a seal of his family. He opened the book. the name of the book was "The House of Killeen" He began reading the opening statement.

The House of Killeen
The house of Killeen started years and years ago by Kaellin the Honorable. He took the name Killeen as a surname. He fathered two children, Desmond and Bearach. Bearach left Stronferth and went into a new land. Desmond became a great Paladin of the god Kael. He...

The page ended and the rest of the book was empty. Just a bunch of blank pages. "Perhaps I am not descendant of Nobility just crazy people who took the last name." Marcas said. He got up and walked back by. He then saw a man kneeling down on the ground picking up papers. Marcas walked over to the man. "Do you need help?" He asked.

Dator continued to reach out and grab the paper getting his red robe covered in the filth of the library floor. His brown hair hanging over his face as he picked up the papers, a sigh being let out as he placed some on the desk in a large pile and went down to pick up some more. ”Why must they keep so many loose papers around? It is a waste of space.” With one sweeping motion of his hand, he pushed back his brown hair and went back on his knees ignoring the fact that his robe was getting filthy.

Dator heard distant flipping of pages in the background as he shuffled around the floor near the desk picking up the scattered papers. Maybe someone was inside the library, or maybe he was just hearing the shuffling of the papers as he picked them up. He convinced himself that it was the constant picking up of the papers and their echo ringing in the empty library as he gathered them. He heard a voice and cocked his head to look at the speaker. He looked to be rather tall and strong, maybe a knight or something along that sort. How odd, most knights were in training not spending their time in the library it was a sight Dator has never seen before.

Dator starred at the man a little while longer until muttering the words, ”If you want to, but you seem like a rather busy man. You don’t have to I am sure I can do it.” After finishing his sentence Dator stood up and dumped a second pile of papers on the desk. He looked at the man and gave him a forced friendly smile. He got back on his knees and went back to gathering up the papers again. There was still a good number spread across the floor. This was not his usual desk; this desk belonged to a librarian that was out for something. Actually Dator had no desk to call his own, the librarians continue to say that he would get one but so far he either desk jumps or calls one of the nearby tables as his own.

Still on the ground his focus not on the man that asked to help, but his main goal to get all the papers off the floor and neatly on the desk. The robe around his waist began to untie itself from the never-ending movement so he was forced to stop. Placing the papers on the ground Dator retied the rope in a firm and strong knot. As he did this the door opened letting light and a new visitor in. Dator said, “Welcome! If you have any specific interests in a book don’t be hesitant to ask. I am here to help.” After he said that the person nodded and walked past, as the door began to close a gust of wind passed through the door barley making it and made its way to the desk. The wind hit the papers on the floor and desk sending them up in the air and then making them fall gently to the floor. Dator’s eyes went wide and a scowl formed across his face. He stood up smoothed his robe with his hands and grumbled to himself and went back on his knees and started to pick up the papers for a second time.

Marcas Killeen

Marcas looked down at the man. He knelt down and said. "So whats your name?" Marcas began picking up the papers on the ground. "You know two people finish stuff faster than just one." He said smirking. Marcas stood up placing the papers in line on the table. He then knelt back down on the ground. "My name is Lord Marcas Killeen, Duke of Laus Urbs, which is soon to have a new name." He said his swords sheath was clanging on the ground.

Marcas then started to wonder. Maybe this guy can help me get to the bottom of my family. Perhaps he knows why the rest of this book is blank. Marcas thought. Marcas stood up and placed more pages on the table, he lined up the edges to be perfect.

"Perhaps you can help and explain to me why the rest of this book is empty pages while the first one stops here." He asked pointing to the books last sentance.

(OOC: I am referring to my last post when i read some of the books reread if necessary)

Dator looked at the knight and replied in a soft mutter, “I am Dator Mors.” Not knowing if he heard or not he then said in a clearer voice, “Dator Mors at your service.” He gave the tall man a grin and watched as he bent down to help him. Dator was sure that this man had other duties to attend to and not help some lonely person in a library. Dator was sure of it, but in the end decided not to mention anything he secretly liked the aid.

The papers were picked up in a faster pace and in a matter of minutes they were all off the stone floor and now were on random scattered piles on the desk. Dator glared at them with a hateful eye, he was going to have to arrange them in the correct orders before the person who calls this desk theirs gets back. In one large sidestep he was now standing closer to the desk, messing with his robe even though it was tied; he just had nothing else to do.

Then the man who helped him spoke, Dator forgot that he was even there, he said his name. Wow this man has a long name. Hate to have to write that all the time, he thought. It made Dator feel like he was just a nobody, just Dator. Not Lord Dator, Duke of Insert Grand Place Here or Master of So and So. He was just Dator, a simple little Necromancer at heart who seeks more adventure, but tends to live a reclusive life filled with old dusty books. The sharp sound of the sheath of the sword hitting the floor made him jump. He looked at the knight and gave a weak smile.

“Thank you for helping me picking up those papers,” Dator said stopping in midsentence and using his right hand to push back some strands of brown hair that fell in front of his face and he continued, “you really have no idea how that helped me. Spending my time picking up papers of the floor was not on my list of things to do today and probably would have set me back on what I must do.” Dator nodded and then said in a confused tone, “How odd.” He leaned in closer to the book and then moved back. He pointed and commented, “It just stops!” He chuckled to himself and stopped, realizing this man needed help and Dator was there to give it.

“Right back on subject of the book and why it has abruptly stopped; causing you to be bewildered and puzzled as to why it has stopped your process of finding about your family. I see now.” He stroked his chin in thought and starred out into space thinking. He was going through all the possible reasons why the book is like this. He had a few so far so he might as well say them. “Well this could be an error on the person who was writing it, they could have died in the process and never got to finish or they could have lost this book and decided not to look for it and write the family information another new book. This one could have been given to us and the librarian that placed it on the shelf never opened it. Let’s start looking up other books that mention the name Killeen or different versions of the name. Got it?” He sat down at the desk and scooted the chair in making a screeching noise.

Dator reached out grabbing a large book and opened it to the K’s. “This book here holds every last name of every family that has even been in Strongferth.” Putting his finger at the first name that started with a “K” he moved down the list muttering the names to himself. “Ah!” he exclaimed and motioned the knight to move closer. “Look! There are only five names that are remotely close to your surname. They are Killion, Killian,Killin, Killean, and Killen and look Killen has two books. I suggest you go look at that and take a look at both of those books because I am sure one of them maybe the missing book you are looking for. I am sure there was an error on the part of the librarian that catalogued it and did not see the two e’s.” He looked up at the man and said, “Oh right where it is at.” He extended his arm in a direction and said, “The book should be close to where you found the book that you have in your possession. I am sure of it; if you need any more help please don’t be hesitant to ask.”

Marcas Killeen

Marcas was intrigued by the little man. He had a sense about him that he was different, not only in a way that he was pale possibly due to the fact that he was in a library all the time, but he possibly was something more. Marcas would have to examine this more closely.

"Well it is a pleasure to meet you Dator Mors." Marcas said respectively. He grabbed the hilt of his weapon. He let his hand go forward raising the sheath up a little. Marcas then watched as Dator excitedly moved to the desk pulled out a large book and started to read scanning the pages for the surname Killeen.

Marcas saw him point to where he was near eariler. He moved quickly and started searching the books from right to left. "Killin, Killian, Killen, and Bam! Killeen." Marcas said as he pulled the text out from the bookshelf.

The book hit the table, and Marcas sat down, cracked his neck and looked at the cover. It had his Heraldry on the cover. He then opened the book.

The House of Killeen[/big

The house of Killeen started years and years ago by Kaellin the Honorable. He took the name Killeen as a surname. He fathered two children, Desmond and Bearach. Bearach left Stronferth and went into a new land. Desmond became a great Paladin of the god Kael. He became the line that the noble family came from. Desmond's brother died in a battle that he got caught up in in a distant land near the Dwarves.

The Following is the family tree.
Posted Image

The only living people of this family are Marcas, Eavan, Brion and Kiley. They also have reports that their is another family member a cousin to the last remaining members Abaoth.

The rest of the book is just what the family has done. It was amazing I was actually descendant of nobility. Marcas closed the book and walked back to see Dator Mors. "Here check it out. The rest is just what all the family has done." Marcas said to the man. I will have to see about getting this book checked out, I can possibly buy it from the library and keep it in my keep when ever I get around to building it. But I will have to buy the resources first. Marcas thought.

Dator watched as the knight scurried off to find the book. He watched him go and then he was out of his line of sight, he moved his brown eyes to the papers all in large stacks on the desk. Letting out a small sigh Dator went to work. Placing them in the correct order, thank goodness the person who sat at this desk had titles and dates on all their papers. Taking each paper he started to place them in piles by the same title. He would sort them in the correct order once he had some order on this chaotic desk.

Standing up to get an aerial view of the desk below he started to move his hands. At one point he was going so fast his arms and hands looked like mere blur of dark red. Slowing down to make sure they were all correct, he placed a few more here and there looking down at the papers. Now to put them all in their correct order by date, put a book on them so they could not fly everywhere, and then go back to regular business. It was easy, he could do that. Dator sat down and eyed the seven stacks of unorganized papers. Maybe this was going to be a lot of work. With that thought he started on the stack closest to him, also the stack with the most papers.

Hearing footsteps in the distance Dator stopped placing the papers and waited, in a few seconds Marcas showed up. Dator looked up at him from the chair and gave a happy smile, “Great! Now I just need to fix that problem and dispose of the extra book on your family. I will do that later. So do you plan on checking that out?” Dator asked as he opened a large book and grabbed a quill neatly resting in a container of black ink. Flipping through the pages of the book he got to the Ks and to Killen and then scratched of in the thick black ink one of the books. There fixed, it was not that noticeable. Dator looked at the large blob of ink, shrugged and slammed the book shut pushing it back he looked up at Marcas.

Quickly looking down he started to sort out the papers again. He was now halfway done with the first very large stack. This may take him all day just to finish three, oh well it was something he had to do. He looked up at Marcas and sharply looked down. He said to Marcas while organizing papers, “If there is anything else I can help you with, please ask.” Not moving his head but shifting his eyes, he looked at his small leathered bounded book which was resting on the far corner of the desk. He nodded reassuringly to himself that it was still there and went back to organizing.

Marcas scratched his head. "I was actually wondering if I could purchase this, or possibly get a copy made. I know it will take a long time to get everything done but I still have to wait for my keep to be built on my land so I can wait for the copy. Also I can make a generous donation to the Library as well as build one in my lands." Marcas said trying to strike a deal with Dator.

Marcas sat there awaiting confirmation by the man. Marcas looked down and saw that he was well on his way to organizing all those pages that earlier he had helped pick up. It was a lot of paper, why dont they get rid of parchments and convert everything to books, or perhaps something to hold papers together so they do not go every where.

"Well what do you say?" Marcas asked.
