"E... Easy now," the guard from the tavern spoke, laying Amelia daintily down on the bed. As he stood back up he cracked his back and grunted. "Do you even know this girl?" "If I didn't," Aeridon began, placing his lute beside the bed, "Would I have asked you to help me bring her here?" "Yes. Especially to a tavern room. At night." "... Fair enough. Regardless," Aeridon reached into his satchel and removed a few gold coins. He placed them in the guard's hands and closed it over them. "Give this to our gracious host, if you will. I'm going to get changed. Have a nice night," Aeridon finished, nearly pushing the guard out of the room with his words. "Remember," the guard finished, exiting the room. "Only once." Aeridon closed the door behind him and breathed a sigh of relief. It'd been a long day, and seeing as there was a woman passed out on the bed nearby, an interesting one. He removed his cloak and tossed it on the nearby chair along with his leather belts, leaving him in the simplest of clothing. He sat down on the wooden chair next to the bed and removed both of his shoes, wiggling his toes as he removed them. Careful not to wake her, Aeridon picked up his lute and began picking at the strings lightly, making the faintest of sounds. |

Time Snap! To the next day! When she came to, she was nearly blinded by morning sunlight pouring in from the window, and her head pounding from a massive head ache, and over all she felt terrible. Having to keep her eyes shut as tight as possible, she had to gingerly lift herself up into a sitting position as she felt her surroundings. She almost panicked, thinking she had been raped, until she discovered that she was not only wearing her clothes the way they were, but also had not been bound in any way. Then she saw Aeridon, but couldn't tell if he was awake or not. "Uh...hello?" |

Aeridon nearly jumped at her voice. He turned around in his chair, having been surveying the area outside of the window, and smiled. "Hey, you're awake... Sorry about... Well, I don't know," he bumbled around his words. "I thought that bringing you here would be the safest bet." Aeridon shook his head and stood up. He stepped toward the bed and dug both his hands into his pockets. "Don't... Worry about sleeping with you or anything, I'm a bit of an insomniac, so I probably slept sporadically an hour or two in the chair," he finished with a nod. |

She started blinking again, partially out of sleepiness, and partially out of slowly understanding what he had just said. "Oh...kay...how did I-" "HOW ABOUT A NICE DWARVEN RUG?!" Amelia screamed and fell off the bed, the Dwarf having literally sprung out from inside the mattress. This guy just would not give up. |

"Alright," Aeridon growled, standing up. He grabbed the Dwarf by the cuff of his collar, ushered him to the door, opened it quickly and threw him out into the hall. "HOW ABOUT-" Aeridon slammed the door on the Dwarf, cutting him off. "I don't want to know how he's doing that, but it's starting to piss me off, it is..." Aeridon shuffled back to his seat and sat down. "So how's your head, Miss?" |

She rubbed her head and rear, having landed quite painfully on the floor when the damn Dwarf popped out of the mattress. "Been better...much better..." she finally responded, getting back up on the bed, "How long was I out for? I don't remember a thing." |

Aeridon chuckled as he slipped his feet back into his shoes. "Well," he started, looking out the window as he got dressed. "You had a little bit to drink last night, passed out on the table... And I brought you back here. It's morning if you didn't notice." |

Upon his response, she looked out the window, barely able to open her eye without it stinging. "...I guess that's why it's so bright..." She muttered, rubbing her forehead again, a bit of dirt coming off. She forgot - she hadn't been able to wash in four days. "Well, thank you, I hope you didn't grope me." |

Aeridon straightened up, but ultimately chuckled. "Don't worry, my mother..." He paused as he said the words, but shook his head. "... My mother taught me how to treat a woman right. As did my pop. Besides, no offense, but you could definitely stand to wash up a bit." He frowned as he said the words and mimicked-holding his nose. |

"Yes, I know," She smiled, lifting up her arm and smelling her own armpit. She smelt vanilla, but others that got close enough to smell her said she smelt of pine. Either way, she assumed she smelled good, "But I don't get the chance very often." |

Aeridon raised a finger and pointed across the room, along the wall with the door. "There's a wash basin, if you'd like. I didn't use it so the water's clean. Be my guest," he said with a quick smile and went back to tying up his shoes' strings. He fastened them in place and put his equipment back around him - namely, his two leather holsters and his cloak. |

Amelia perked up, despite the crippling headache. She could only hope she could wash her only set of clothes as well... "Well, I appreciate what you've done, I hope you'll..." She reached into her coin purse, pulling out some of the last few pieces of gold she had, "...will accept this as a payment in gratitude?" |

Aeridon struggled to resist the coins, but ultimately gave in. "Listen, I'm not proud that I'm taking these," he said, regretfully, yet took the coins all the same. "But necessity takes over after awhile, y'know? Thanks, darlin'." "So, will you be in town any longer?" |

"Hmmm...." She thought. Would she be in Stronferth for much longer? She didn't have any contracts at the moment, and she had no idea when she might receive another one, so why not stay? Then again...this was the only place she had explored, and she would like to see other places at some point...why not go out and explore? "...I guess that would depend, if I get called in for another job..." |

"Aah," Aeridon said with a quick, sage-like nod of his head. "I see. I can imagine you'd have some unexpected stays in strange towns, and all the same have to leave at a moment's notice. Not exactly the life I'd like to be living, mind you," he finished, stretching as he stood up. "Can't see myself in this town for much longer. I stop in occasionally 'cause my biggest fans seem to be here," he noted, referring to the people wandering the marketplace. "Other then them, and that's only a tiny reason, there's no reason for me to be here longer than I have to. 'Tis the life of a travelin' man, you know?" |
