That, and while I do like the idea of separating threads for votes and discussion:

If you separate them, it'll be easier to vote out of context. For instance, it'll be easier to fly under the radar while voting people out. Mafia have a pretty good position as it is. Last thing they need is more ability to go unnoticed while being able to contribute to lynching a townsfolk.

Whereas as it is now, if you just bandwagon with lynches, it's easy to keep track of as its all there.

Separating the threads, you could potentially do the same thing. However it requires even more attention to detail and being active which can be a problem. It would really hurt the ability for people who aren't incredibly active to pick up on suspicious behaviour.

On the flip side, that could be a good thing, increasing the need for an attention to detail.

I prefer the thread-per-day solution myself. It would limit the clutter, while keeping the voting context there.

Someone should use this in a future game.
The Other (or Alien). Easiest if you have the doctor in play. The Other appears like a villager. After the mafia and doctor have done their deeds, the other awakens. If the mafia picked him for killing, the moderator gives the Other some sign. the Other is now active. During the next day, the Other should do all possible to be lynched. If successful, the Other wins. (the Other loses if lynched before activation)
This would obviously work best in a no-role claiming game.
