Ryuu had made his way back to his office so he could start to organise the paper work needed to make the unfortunate victim of last nights antics a hero who died in combat, than killed in cold blood to merely protect an assassin. He hadn’t spent long at the large ornate desk before a Hell Butterfly fluttered its way in through the open wall to his right, mindlessly holding out his right hand while he continued to write up papers he heard about the approval of Khains promotion. How someone like Tannaru Kengan got promoted to the Zero Division was far above Ryuus head for him to care about the bastard. Sighing he flicked his hand to send the butterfly away and put down his pen before stretching backwards, looking out the missing wall he looked over most of Seireitei and Rukongai, the office was one good thing about being the Captain-Commander for sure. It took another moment for Ryuu to finally get up off his chair and leave his office to head to the Captains meeting room, at least if he went there now he could sit in silence and contemplate his next move with the Quincy. It didn’t take long to get from his office to the massive imposing doors of the meeting room , though doors like that were made to stop people getting in or listening due to their sheer weight, they weren’t a problem for Ryuu in the slightest. Using one hand he merely pushed one of the massive doors open without even breaking step, though a normal shinigami would need to use the purpose built in opening mechanism to enter, for Ryuu it was simply a normal door, ask him to open an actual normal door and you had a different story. Strolling to the only chair in the room, his chair, he took a seat and rested fully back into it while resting his chin in his hand which was prompted by his elbow on the arm. Another deep sigh escaped him as his mind went into over drive trying to think of something he could do about the Quincy, though he was also trying to stop himself from finding them and breaking fingers till they talked. No one threatened to kidnap his wife or even think about harming her and lived to tell the tale, there sheer though started to boil Ryuus blood again of how those men wanted him and his wife, even if he knew Sakura could handle herself easily he still didn’t let people think they could harm her. Ok maybe sitting alone quiet wasn’t going to work help him think of things to do, except what the best bones to break on a body where. Taking a deep breath he tried to relax and let things slide till he could talk to Aberontes and have this ceremony finish peacefully, and maybe some of his lazy ass Captains would actually show up this time! |

Captain Shogi Onbinkaze was the first to show up, strolling through the doorway as casually as a man with severe sleep deprivation could. With one hand he held the door open, much like the commander before him. From that point it was a simple matter of taking his position amongst the captain line-up. This time, there was no happy greeting for Ryuu, this was official business. Official business the young captain might end up sleeping through, but official business nonetheless. |

“Ohh no I hope I’m not late,” Khain thought as he sped towards the 1st division HQ, how could he have forgotten such an important event. Thinking back he had dosed off in the former 13th HQ trying to get a handle on what his new responsibilities entailed. He loved to visit the 13th for some reason it helped calm him, putting him in a state of near bliss where he could think clearly about anything no matter the situation, this may possibly be due to the fact that while in there Khain feels as if all his former comrades are with him again just like the old days when he was a rank and file member of the 13th under the guidance of his old captain. Now he was the captain and others would look to him for guidance, was he up to the task? Could he possibly compare to the other captains? What would Kengan do? Khain pondered on this for a second before he felt the familiar faint reminder from Sigmund, he mustn’t lose his resolve should that happen every thing he had worked for would fall apart. He knew this shouldn’t be getting to him like this and yet it was, an unexplainable fear boiling up from within him that he wouldn’t be good enough. Without even realizing it he was there standing outside the grand doors of the meeting room. Was he dressed properly, hair brushed, hat on straight? Wait he didn’t even ware a hat, the pressure was getting to him. Then it hit him, this was no different to being a lieutenant sure now he was the big boss in the 8th but other than that it was the same, and should he waver off the straight and narrow the other captains would be there to correct him, there was nothing to be scared of this was a huge leap towards his goal of ending the needless violence through a higher state of learning, with his new rank he could spread the word to a greater level. Yes this was a great boon indeed now all he had to do was go in there and face the music! |

As Captain Ichiro Akio approached the door, a small white object caught his eye-the golf ball he had driven earlier. "So that is where it went." Continuing on, he pocketed his golf ball and went through the doorway with regal pose, despite his very unregal appearance. He still was wearing only pants and his haori. His shock white hair unruly, he held the door open with his hand as the others hand done and took his place in the captain's lineup. |

Moments after, Hajime appears in his usual presence. The light-heart attitude that was with him when he woke up had receded into the depths of his calm and cool face. He always appeared in such a way where his own power was felt but it was not meant to show off, rather to keep his abilities sharp. Hajime opened his eyes to see that he was the fifth to show up if you include Ryuu. He stood in his position in the line up and let his hands rest at his side. A stray thought crossed that if the other captains would show up at all. It was a random throw of the dice that decided whether or not such a thing were to happen, especially considering the current state of things in Soul Society. In any case, he let these thoughts fade and focused on the task at hand |

A Hot Spring & Hot Sake - That's Good Enough For Me

Soon enough all the other Captains made their way into the meeting hall, each one taking their respective positions down its length. Yukiko shot Onbinkaze a wicked glare as she passed, but oddly enough it was accompanied by her usual mischievous smirk; she said nothing though and simply stood next to the 'boy' patiently waiting for the event's start. The Captain of the fourth, the seventh, and the twelfth moved in all on their own only seconds after, none giving more than a brief nod to the Captain-Commander and taking silent stance. Oddly enough as time ticked by it became relevant that Timmay Hayte, Captain of the 6th, wasn't going to be present... The massive doors swung open once more and Tannaru Kengan strode in, his long blue hair gently waving about with each step; he wore his usual uniform, yet his Haori was neatly folded in his arms as he walked in. The Captain - soon to be Ex - made his way up towards Ryuu's chair, a great smile on his face. "Good-day Commander! It's wonderful out, no? I've gotten to spend a good majority of my morning outside the 8th Division's walls sorting out a few things here and there in preparation for this event - all the paperwork's been squared away and as soon as the ceremony is over Central 46 has assured me Ill be out of your hair for good." He gave a pleasant and playful wink as he joked - he was obviously ecstatic about the great honor he was being presented with. Still the question remained why such a young fellow would be promoted to the Zero Division, especially over so many other more worthy candidates; either way the fact still stood that this was his day, as well as his lucky subordinate. Tannaru bent down and presented the folded Haori to the Captain-Commander, laying it at the man's feet just before standing back up in perfect attention and turning around. |

As Kengan opened the doors to the room, Ryuu didn’t even honour him by standing. Instead he remained seating with his chin in his hand and his left leg crossed over his right knee, he saw absolutely no reason for this pain in the arse little bastard to be promoted. He never liked Kengan for as long as he could remember the little whelp, so this was a blessing and a curse in one turn, he would get rid of him but also the little gits ego would sky rocket. Rolling his head back and out of his hand Ryuu merely stared vacantly at the soon to be promoted Captain as he expressed all thoughts and resolved issues, Ryuu did not care one bit, and he had more important things to deal with right now. After the now passed down Haori was placed at his feet Ryuu finally rose and stood with his hands behind his back and looked at the assembled Captains, all seven and a half of them. Hayate hadn’t shown for whatever reason, one Ryuu would find out with haste after the ceremony, at least Khain was on time. “As you all know we are assembled this afternoon for the honour of elevating a new member to our ranks, and to send an old colleague to a new rank. Last week I and two other Captains gave Lieutenant Khain from the Eight Division the Captain Proficiency Exam after receiving word from the Central 46 that Tannaru Kengan, current Captain of the Eight Division would be promoted to that of the Zero Division.” Ryuu did sound genuinely pleased at Khain becoming Kengans replacement, his eyes were scanning all of his Captains reactions before he bowed down and picked up Kengans old folded Haori. Holding it with two hands he took a deep breath and looked directly at Khain standing in line without the Haori he deserved and smirked at the contrast to the other Captains. “It is with my great honour that Lieutenant Khain passed the Exam, and earlier I received full permission to bestow the Rank of Captain upon him, Lieutenant Khain can you come forth.” Even as a warrior through and through, Ryuu actually like public speaking so this was a good part about his very stressful job. |

Captain Shogi smiled as he saw a fellow comrade in arms receive a promotion to an equal rank. He had never known Khain, had never even seen the man in all honesty, but if he was good enough for commander Ryuu-sama, as well as a selection of other captains, then he was good enough for Onbinkaze. As much as the disciple of Tetsuo tried to like everybody, he just never had a taste for Kengen. The man just didn't rub the right way with the younger Shogi. It was a relief, knowing he was being replaced. With every push, there is a pull... |

Khain stepped forward to stand in front of Ryuu, this was it this was the moment that responsibility for the 8th division passed to him. Khain’s nerves were a wreck although this was the case not even the slightest hint of his fear passed through his appearance; fear was the mind killer he would not fear. Now standing before Ryuu he was at a loss for words so he decided to stay quiet and just stand there hoping like anything that that would be enough, hopefully he would be prompted to speak when necessary. With all this going through his mind he completely forgot all about Kengen and everything else in the room, he would have to get over this sooner or latter he knew it was only a matter of time, but still it gnawed at his core the fear that he wasn’t good enough… |

Ryuu smirked as the Lieutenant stood before him; he could tell he was a little nervous by looking in his eyes, for a man of his experience such a sign was easily spotted. Holding out the Haori to Khain Ryuu smiled properly and continued his speech. “By the right of I, Ryuu Himura, Captain-Commander of the Gotei Ten, I here by promote Lieutenant Khain to the rank of Captain of the Eight Division effectively immediately. May you take the honour bestowed on you today and wear this Haori as a sign of your commitment, power, and above all else leadership of the men and women within your Division.” With that Ryuu handed the Haori over fully and gave a nod of approval to take it off him. He also had another quick though in his head, what the hell was Khain last name? Or was Khain his last name and he didn’t know his first name… damn it he would have to search the record later to check. |

Ichiro stood calmly in line, being careful not to give in to his urge to strike the 12th Division's Captain, no matter how much of an annoyance they were. The current Kenpachi knew his Zanpakutou were very unusual, and had he had no idea why they were the way they were. He put his mind instead to the situation at hand. Captain Akio had a feeling the newly promoted captain would do well, and perhaps at some point Ichiro could have a decent chat with the young man over a round of golf. Then again who knows really, though Captain Ichiro Akio tended to be friendly with most of the captains, save the Captain of the 12th. Such was life. |

Yukiko shifted her weight back and forth from her left foot to her right foot. Truly she was glad the both of them were getting promoted, but she was more interested in anything her squads she sent out that morning had reported back. She listened as Ryuu spoke, going on and on about how Khain was selected and had passed his exam. It was terrible how impatient Yukiko was being. Really she should be more happy that the two were being honored. But then again, Yukiko rarely did happy. She also wasn't patient. But if anything was needed, or was of much importance, they would come tell her. Yukiko didn't think she stuck incapable people in the squad that would sit around and wait if something big happened. |

Looking up to Ryuu Khain's face was blank, clearly the action of handing the Haori over was a little to much for him to handle at the time, a few seconds latter Khain had recovered and bowed before his captain commander before silently moving back to his place in the lineup. Still holding onto the Haori stood very quietly waiting for the proceedings to continue. Too think now he was now one of the most respected people in the sereti a captain officially now, a feeling of pride swelled up like a balloon in Khain’s chest as a smile made it’s way from one ear to the other. |

Ha it was fun seeing newbie Captains feel a little overwhelmed with the realisation of what was happening to them, though Ryuu never did pester them. They were comrades and he wanted them to be trusted allies he could rely on when more fire power was needed. Giving a nod of acceptance as Khain took his rightful spot once again Ryuu put his hands behind his back once more and then looked at Kengan. “With the proceedings finished it only leaves you, Kengan. From us all I wish you luck with your new position and hope it works out for you as much as it has done here. If you have any parting words feel free to have a moment.” Ryuus chirpy tone had gone into a stoic monotone, hell after he finished speaking he even sat down in his chair again screw Kengan. The faster this finished the faster he could chace where the hell Timmah was and find out if Aberontes had any new information for him. |

Kengan still has a wide stupid grin on as he stood at the foot of steps that led to the Captain-Commanders chairs. During the little ritual he had smiled at Khain and watched the proceeding but the thing was he had oddly blanked out, not really having paid attention at all! For a moment he stood there in silence before realizing he had been addressed. "Oh, um... Well what can I say. It's great to see my pupil take my place as Captain as I go on to do bigger and better things. We all served together and got along fine, but fate seems to have decided to carry me onward. I'll remember my time here of course, a stepping stone along the path, but the most important thing I'll take away from it is of course the honor --" He continued on for a bit, obviously trying to just drag things about and make the moment a bit more about him - it seemed as if he couldn't get his head out of the sky. After several minutes of just unending ranting a knock tolled on the massive door and a pair of figures, ornately dressed, pushed the door open. The strode up the small path with little expression on their face only offering a few words - "Tannaru Kengan, it is time - Central 46 has prepared everything for your travel..." They moved quickly to his side, grabbing his arms and seeming to push him down the hallway - it was odd really, but either way he seemed to be making his leave all to late. With a last word he turned his head over his shoulder as he continued to be rushed forwards - "Pushy guys aren't they? C46 always seems to be in a hurry - Good Lu--" The doors shut behind him and the was an odd relief of pressure off of everyone's shoulders... |
