The months had past almost like a blur for Emaya as not long ago she was standing on an unknown ship where her very fate and future was decided for her. Van Chro a young aged Human no more in his late twenties had taken Emaya before his Master and declared his ambitions for the girl to be trained in the way of the Sith, the way of the Dark Side of the Force. It was touch and go if the girl would be allowed or if her corpse would be jettisoned out the nearest airlock, but something smiled upon the girl and her she was granted the opportunity to prove her worth. From then on she was transported to a planet named Roon, a mysterious planet that the girl had never heard of and one that wasn’t shown on any star map or on any navigation route, it was a phantom planet. Though what was a phantom to the rest of the galaxy, was very much reality for the Sith. Shielded by a cloud of mist the planet was inaccessible to anyone who didn’t know a secret route through the deadly dusts, even Emaya didn’t know what the route was as she was sitting patiently with Chro till they arrived on what would be her home for sometime, if she was worthy enough. Not much was divulged to the girl about where she was or what she would be doing, but for five months she was alone with Chro way from any civilization populace or any sentient being. Chro taught her the subtleties of the Force and to what powers it could grant someone who knew how to use it. Fortunately Emaya flourished with her teachings, learning a variety of skills easily enough, not mastering them, but simply understanding them enough to help later develop them to true mastery. It was however several months that went by too quickly and now sitting in a clearing with but a single lit candle in front of her Emaya had been told to meditate. Her surroundings were rocky as they were camping out on the side of a mountain, but they were comfortably situated on a flat plateau where much of their training had occurred. The night was dark as it had been for the past two months thanks to Rools unique orbiting of its star, there was nothing but silence surrounding her, not even the wind was blowing. Yet the ever cold yet electrifying presence of the Dark side lingered in the air like a feint smell sitting softly and never dissipating, it surrounded Emaya and gave her comfort and made her mind tingle as she sat concentrating her mind on the single candle flame. |

The would be sith, at least she would hope as much, Emaya had once again gotten little information from her Master, Van Chro. A peculier name for a strange man indeed, the young girl couldn't say she much cared for the formality of speaking such a...'distinguished' name, and rather referred to her Master as such, 'Master'. Who knew time could go by so quickly, it seemed only yesterday she were on that bland little planet. Watching her mother and father toil away on useless dirt for profit, how rather pathetic and pointless all of that seemed now, now that she had been 'enlightened' to the things she had the past few months. Simply being in the presence of a Sith, it was an event unlike anything she had ever come to know in her 'past life'. In her normal life, this life however would be nothing of the sort. Mother, Father, family, a Sith had no need for any of these. All a Sith had need of was a Master to train under, and power, she however held something of a personal touch to this equation, the urge to gain not only the power her Master could teach. She wished to be stronger, more powerful than any before her and any to rise after. An unhealthy ambition yes, but the drive that kept this young girl moving from planet to planet during her younger years, which pestered her to follow Van Chro that day, and which persisted in her following his recent orders as of late, despite how agitated she grew from simply sitting and waiting. Surely her time could be better spent learning to wield a weapon, or being taught how to abuse the kindness of Jedi in order to destroy them. Her despise of this 'meditation', if one could call it such, was vastly unspoken. If not for her need of a Master in which to train her, she would have likely acted out what seemed to be ages ago when she was informed of her 'orders'. It didn't make sense to her, why after she pushed herself so hard to learn how to abuse the force did her Master continue to treat her as if she had just begun? Learning to fully delve into those powers must have been the key to victory, the path to dangerous power, destructive power. But no, here she was, sitting in front of one utterly pointless lit candle. In the middle of who knew where, in the middle of the dark, how rather quaint really. She half humored herself at whatever 'moral' lesson she was to learn from this, honestly, the silence was murder enough on someone of such high ambition. How she longed to prove she wasn't weak anymore, that she COULD be taken seriously now. The only thing that gave the girl any solace was the presence of something vile, dark beyond imagination, and only described, as the Dark side. Her hair lay dead against her head, not even a small breeze to bustle the tips in a flourish of cool air. Concentrating on the damned candle before her, the darkness behind her eyes seemed to paint a cascade of color. Perhaps she were holding her eyes too firmly closed, as no shapes took form. Just darkness and color, shifting and turning endlessly in a loop. She hated all the waiting most of all, maybe even more than not having the power to prove she no longer needed to wait. No matter what, only Van Chro could vouch for her training as a success, or a death warrant. Her mind felt fuzzy, clouded but yet clear, for most it would have been a contradiction to baffle the mind, but she didn't fear it. Correction, she no longer feared it. She had seen the eyes of deathly visions, a man who had killed, a powerful man. After you have come face to face with someone who could determine your survival, or your demise, contradictions were the lesser of two evils. She did hope however that her Master would soon have a new task for her, even out of her fearful respect of the man her patience still drew thin on occasion. |

Who knows how long passed by, hours, minutes, maybe even seconds? It was impossible to say, there was no sun and the moon was covered in a shroud of asteroids, the wind was still and no animal could be heard what so ever. Then there was something very different, a rush of cold powerful dark energy flowing over Emaya like a waterfall, though it was gone as swiftly as it had come. It was hard for Emaya to judge where the energy had come from due to her lack on sensitivity but there was only one being near by who could cause such a feeling, Van Chro. He had returned to the small shelter they had been occupying for their time on Rool since he had mentioned a transmission he needed to send back to his Master. Evidently it had not gone well, “Emaya enough of your meditating it has been long enough and we must talk.” Chro had appeared from the shelter and talked as he walked the short few feet to the girl sitting and paced by her and by the candle. He walked back and forth agitated with his right hand cupping and stroking his chin which was covered in a black neat goatee beard. Chro was some what of an odd looking man; he was clean and very well groomed almost militarily groomed however. His pitch black hair was cut short and trimmed to neat sharp edges at the sides and back his goatee was exactly the same, not a hair was out of place on him. Though effectively camping for the past several months even his clothes were immune to imperfection, he wore black trousers that had been perfectly creased down the centre and his jacket was void of a stray strand or blemish. He was clean, straight, organised, and most of all could have been the militaries poster boy for how to look. The agitated look on him would have been more obvious if Emaya had been able to feel through the Force more accurately, but even a blind Bantha would tell Van was mightily fracked off. “My Master has informed me that your training under me has come to an end. I have been ordered to send you to the academy here for proper training as they would put it.” He was full of sarcasm and fought back disagreement with his order, but even if he felt so strongly that the order was wrong he was not a fool to disobey it. |

The girl was startled to say the least by the sudden wash over of dark energy, even though she had been around her Master for who knew how long by this point, the impression never seemed to dull with each arrival of his presence. She had been reiterating her own annoyance at the void of interest radiating from this planet, however even someone like her was forced into attention when Van Chro appeared. Her eyes sprang open rather quickly, and all eyes shifted to the form of her Master. She may not have known right away that it was him, but considering they had been the only ones here, and perhaps due to some hoping that it was, she had made the notion fact as opposed to contemplating what fate may befall her should someone else have stumbled upon this camp. How much she despised the idea that she were too weak to defend herself against opposition on equal footing of power as her Master, how much she despised herself for instinctively, and secretly, hoping that it was her Master and not someone else's who had made his return. It was frustrating to have to rely on someone so much, when you were never sure if they would aid you in your time of need, and this tended to leave Emaya in a constant state of unease. Last she heard, her Master had informed her about some transmission, although as to what it pretained to her Master had not divulged unto her. It was no surprise, she was but a lowly student, if one could really even call her that much, yet another annoying fact that ate away at her ego. It wasn't until she had actually seen her Master, Van Chro, that her unease became less of a temptress. However, the back of her mind was always plagued with the potential day that she might do something to show she were too weak, or useless, it would only be a matter of time before action would be taken against her should that moment ever arise... She wasn't sure how long he was gone, but it appeared her meditation was done, at least for now. Standing at attention with her head raised to eye level and her arms by her sides, Emaya's curious eyes couldn't help but trace her Master's movements. She knew he wouldn't likely enjoy this, but she couldn't resist. He appeared to be tense, frustrated perhaps, and that did not forebode well for the young would be Sith. She would have posed the obvious questions that ran through her mind, but she had learned long ago not to question her Master's motives...they were either in his interest, or in the off chance hers, either way she would be foolish to try and comprehend. As usual, Van Chro appeared to be outside of the natural environment. His clothes as neat and clean as his face, regardless of how much time they spent on this perpetually dirty planet. In a way she admired his appearance, it was the appearance of power, or so she thought. To be able to be of such stature, that nature itself inflicted little effect or consequence to your own person was supernatural in its own respect, it held an allure about it through its mystery that she couldn't help but wish to obtain. However she continued to restrain her curiosity, not wishing to further push her Master's patience. She was surprised to learn that her Master's Master had ordered for her to continue to train elsewhere, the Master of her Master...it struck deeper than any weapon to know that even should she someday become as powerful as the man before her, she would still be little more than a student in someone else's eyes. Moving her right arm in front of her chest and resting it against her heart she gave her Master a small bow, attempting to show respect toward him more than the order he appeared to have some sort of issue with. "I understand, Master." In actuality she was far from reaching understanding, this order could have meant anything... Had her Master's Master decided that Emaya had become a waste of his student's time? What worried her more, was that her Master made no mention of an academy before...none that she could recall at the moment at least. Had there been one on this planet, she could only wonder as to why she had not been training there rather than here all this time. However, as usual she silently murdered her curiosity and questioning, bickering the man whom could decide your fate was not wise for any who could not defend themself after all. She would go to this place her Master had informed of her, and train until she could show not only him, but his Master as well, that she had earned the right to become a Sith, she had too... |

”Good, you are to leave immediately for the academy. I shall not be guiding you as I have my own orders.” Chro stopped his pacing for a moment and stared at the candle before snapping his finger causing the flame to go out, while he was standing nearly six feet away from it. He briskly walked past Emaya and towards the shelter where a bag had already been prepared for the girl, one that had been used for months. It was nothing special just a simple small backpack with very few items in it, spare clothing, canteen, some rations and a small dagger one that wasn’t even a vibroblade, just a simple blade. It was all Emaya had needed as Chro had made he learn to live off very little and not to be dependant on others and things. Tossing the bag to the girls’ feet he unclipped his lightsaber from his belt and spun it around on his palm, “Your destination is a day trek from here across some mud planes. The only life you should encounter is mud men and if they overcome you then it is proof you are not fit for training. Head South-east from here and you shall reach the academy, though be wary there may be some hidden distractions for new arrivals.” Vans tone was odd very odd, it was a mixture of anger, frustration, care and utter disgust. So much so it was hard for Emaya to know what of these feelings were for her, it was apparent at least the man did care for her well being but now she was to be weaned off a holding hand and thrown in to the true life of the Sith. Patiently he stood looking at her holding his lightsaber with a grip tighter than he should have with his face torn with emotion. |

Emaya didn't lift her gaze from the bow she presented, perhaps one might consider this because of the respect she held for her Master, however...she couldn't call it fear. No, it wasn't that she was naturally 'afraid' of her Master, that wasn't the case although she tended to be timid when he was near. This was a different feeling, perhaps worry, or concern if only for herself. Although she knew she was ready, a part of her was resistant toward change. Sure, change could be a good thing, but for a Sith it could become quite the opposite rather quickly... For now she decided that she was as lowly as she could be, which meant that the majority of change would be in her favor, as for the rest...well, she would take care of that, one way or another. She allowed her Master to proclaim her next actions, daring not to impede on his ever prevalent orders. Now was not the time to argue how or why, now was the time of taking the actions given, and overcoming anything in her way regardless of the means. Although she had never been there personally, she had already decided that no matter how far, or where it may be, she would find this academy and train there as long as she needed to in order to prove herself. Hopefully by doing so she may garner a better understanding of combat, or use in the Dark side, perhaps than her Master would take her more seriously and teach her more powerful skills... Emaya did wonder what orders her Master had been given, it filled her with untold wonder what his Master could possibly order hers to do, after all Van Chro was no weak man, not by far. She quickly discarded her insufferable curiosity, it would only blind her to the task at hand... Her Master wouldn't be showing her the way this time, for the first time in what seemed to be a long time...he wouldn't be looming near-by. It was a strange stream of emotions really, part of her felt relief. Every second around her Master might improve her status, or end her life, it was at his whim, or perhaps better put his Master's, as to if her life was worthy of living in their service after all. However the other feelings were darker, spattered with the slight despair of not seeing his face, or being near the natural protection that he could have possibly provided should he deem her worthy of it. Yes, this among many to come would be a defining moment it would seem, her chance to prove herself if only in some small way, or die trying...regardless the course was set in stone so to speak, and there was no room for error. When her Master ended his pacing, Emaya's attention was drawn to his actions, however she refused to release her position. She heard the snap of his finger, and noticed the candle out of the corner of her eye. He was an amazing man, his skills appeared to defy logic at times...even in a simple task such as this. Letting her Master pass by her without so much as lifting her head, she put her full trust that he would not simply end her...it was the only real form of humbling herself that she had come to know since being sent to train with him. She couldn't say she enjoyed putting her life in someone else's hands...but for now she wasn't strong enough to do otherwise, all that would change for the better soon, or so she would hope... As her Master passed by her, Emaya finally rose from her bow and stood at attention. Turning her form toward her Master's new direction, she awaited to see what he would do next, watching and waiting, as usual. Having tossed Emaya's bag in her direction, her eyes traced the rather unappealing bag's decent through the air, and scuffle against the ground in front of her. It was a simple bag, one that spoke volumes of poverty, and was mute of stature. However, despite its appearance Emaya had become used to the items inside, and knew better than to turn a blind eye to their obvious uses merely because of their outward appearance. Although she would much rather prefer a lightsaber of her own over a simple dagger, she 'greatfully' accepted her Master's hospitable nature...even though it was more portrayed on the outside rather than the inside. She didn't move for the bag however, waiting for her Master to finish talking first, she wouldn't want to appear disrespectful. Than again she had a feeling she would need to know as much as he would tell her... One day didn't seem too bad of a distance, it wasn't all that great considering how much could happen, or lack there of, in a day. However she couldn't very well complain, any amount of mud planes would have been a lousy amount... Emaya wasn't too familiar with 'mud men', although she gave a slight nod to his comment. It didn't matter what they looked like, or what they could do, if they stood between her and her training than she would be sure not to let them stand for very long. Her orders appeared simple enough, head South-east until she found the place, although her Master's final comment bothered her a small bit. Hidden distractions, what a rather curious thing for him to say...she would keep his words in mind. Giving another small bow Emaya went to grab the bag in front of her, slipping it over one shoulder and than the other, finally making sure it was secure she gave a final gaze toward her Master. Something about him seemed...off, more so than usual. For someone like him, who seemed so 'untouched' by conventional circumstances....it was a rather bewildering spectacle. However, whatever had cause her Master such distress, she did not wish to draw any unwanted anger her way, and decided not to pester him. Strangely, she broke her silence, although all logic suggested to simply turn and make her way toward the academy....she couldn't help but utter the word she had come far too familiar with as of late, and was forced to procure some other means of showing her emotion toward parting ways. A funny concept, especially considering that no matter where she ended up...she felt as if her Master could have found her. "...Master....I shall make my way there with haste." She tried her best to cast aside any emotion, however her Master would have known better having spent as much time with the girl as he had. This was for the best however, Sith had no need for emotion...merely power. She had thought that she knew better than to feel this way by now, it seemed she still had a ways to go... Turning away from the grace of her Master's presence, Emaya took her first step toward a new challenge. |

Chro simply nodded to his former pupils’ acknowledgement and spun his lightsaber in the palm of his hand again. The only time Emaya had seen him do such a thing was when he was extremely frustrated with her poor learning, or when he was contemplating a kill, even if just an animal for food. Turning his back to her he sat on the ground close to the candle and stared at the small amount of smoke rising from it. Before the girl however was a dark decent down the mountain side, they must have been around 600 metres up the side of the mountain, about half way roughly. The mountain was actually fairly steep to the South-East very close to 45 degrees in some parts, trees dotted the decent so what would have been a simply decent another direction this was going to either be very precarious or painful. There were still no sounds of animals anywhere but there was the sound of a river about a kilometre away not far from the base of the mountain. The only thing that couldn’t be seen though were the mud plains that Emaya had to so diligently cross, they were obscured by hills, trees and the sheer lack of moon light. One days worth of trekking was all it would take to get to her destination, it couldn’t be so hard could it, or was Chro not telling her everything? |

Emaya tried her best not to become too intimidated by her Master's frustration, if you looked the victim, you became one after all... having made her way down what was nearly, or likely, half way, she couldn't help but notice how difficult this little part of her 'hike' actually was. She half wondered if perhaps this was some sort of test within itself...sending her in the most blatantly danger riddled direction to see if she would survive. She continued downward as carefully as she could manage, yet still she couldn't even see the mud plains, even from this high up...not exactly the most comforting turn of events. She couldn't say she was disappointed in the lack of wildlife, she detested nearly every animal she had ever seen after all...such messy noisy creatures, they could easily give away ones position when attempting to remain shrouded in shadow. "...This is ridiculous...damned mountain..." Now that she were to herself, Emaya's usual attitude was slowly surfacing. Although she may have kept reserved around her Master, when on her own her true colors tended to show rather vibrantly. Her detest for her surroundings was as evident as the faint sound of what could be a river. She decided to make her way toward the river first, if indeed it turned out to be one. Hopefully there she could catch her breath and drink her water, with the promise of more water to replace it. Although Van Chro seemed to be...far from forthcoming with her, she still had yet to find any evidence that he was withholding anything too vital. |

The decent was not fun what so ever for Emaya, rocky outcrops, sharp drops, slick surfaces, thorny bushes, and an ever tingling feeling down the length of her spine as if someone was boring a hole through her very soul. There was more than one occasion where the girl had slipped, slid, and fell on her backside, her hands were hurting for the falls and there were a few scratches and peeled skin under the dirt that was covering her. Even her trousers had developed a snag on them causing a small hole on the outside of her right leg, and this was only halfway! Though halfway was better than stuck at the top, it was unclear how long it took to get only halfway maybe five minutes from the slipping and sliding or maybe twenty minutes from just how precarious it was to navigate down the treacherous path. Fortunately though the worst was over as the ground started to firm up with solid dirt and grass, and the angle started to shallow out as the mountain side started to flow into the river, which at the distance Emaya was at looked about thirty feet wide with plenty of rocks in it and quite gentle. With the ease of the journey improving it didn’t take long for the girl to actually reach the river without falling again thanks to the better ground conditions. Now standing at the edge of the river though things seemed to be a little more difficult, the rocks were slick and too jagged to use as stepping stones, the water was actually moving faster than first predicted, the other side was still about thirty feet away which was alright. The river was wider to the East with faster flowing water and to the West started to get narrower about maybe a kilometre away, though the other side was obscured by some trees so Emaya had no way of judging what sort of terrain would be there if she crossed further down. Though the last detail the girl noticed was ice forming on debris in the river, so it was safe to say that swimming would be a very bad idea unless she wanted to be an ice cube. |

Emaya's eyes were a bit watery, although she resisted the urge to give in to such trivial cuts and scrapes... She had at least made it halfway, or so it would appear from where she stood. Not only that, but she had at least made it to a point that she could see the river, that was a good thing. She didn't really notice the snag in her clothing, being too occupied with the snags in her skin... However the brief moment of accomplishment soon turned sour, as it appeared not only was it going to be troublesome to cross the river, but also dangerous as the water appeared to be damn near freezing. Emaya gave an annoyed grunt at her luck and went to sit down, reaching inside her bag for her water canister, she would wait for a few minutes and move to refill her water before she would try to actually cross this death trap. She couldn't wait to get to this academy...at least something more eventful might happen there, or some useful training...as opposed to this nature crap. |

It seemed this river was pretty much a big test in getting to the academy from her starting point, ice cold fast moving water and clothing thing and holey enough that would give her hypothermia in about two minutes in the water. This was going to be a case of die or succeed by the narrowest of margins indeed. As Emaya filled her canteen with the frosty water she could see a fair few options to get across, to the East the river was wider, and the faster ran faster, though it was littered with rocks that looked crossable with a very delicate footing and more equipment. To the West the river became narrower and flatter, though it looked as if it was also the start of the flood plains, marshy cold soil that constantly had small waves of wave lick over and pool on the edges, though the water was slower and looked shallower. Behind her was the forest of trees she had just walked from it was mainly made of thick trees but there were plenty of thin long branches that could be cut off. There was even loose debris of logs and sticks on the opposite bank which maybe with the Force on her side Emaya could pull to her or loosen. Regardless which way she went she would need to make something to help prop herself or help her leap further. Walking sticks for the rocks or a long enough stick to leap the shallows seemed the best options for both crossable locations. |

Emaya's sharp eyes took in the small little details, that wasn't to say she was as keen to her surroundings, so much as deadly annoyed with the small trifles such as this river. She had at the least gotten a small bit of a break, but she was going to have to cross this damn thing eventually...no doubt about that. Moving to place her newly resupplied water in her bag, Emaya would look the trees over in the woods next. Honestly, she would rather just jump across and be done with it...she was never really the 'patient' kind of person, and this situation didn't dawn on her any differently. The rocks, sure, might be a clever way across. However it took too much focus, focus that she didn't want to waste on such an unimportant piece of 'training'... Her eyes eventually found the thin branches, yeah, they seemed long enough... Trying to use her Telekinesis on one of the thin but long branches, Emaya attempted to snap it free from the tree and let it fall down to the ground for her to check out. She might just be able to use one of them after all...if she could just find one sturdy enough. |

The branch though long and seemingly brittle certainly wasn’t, it actually needed a good few tugs and bends to make it break at its connection with the trunk. It was about five feet in length and nice and thick so it could be exactly what the girl was looking for. Fortunately the trees surrounding the edge of the river had plenty of similar branches they would just need a good few tugs to snap them off. However the most interesting thing though was what else Emaya saw when she was looking for another similar branch, a fire had started up the mountain and was exactly where the camp had been for so many weeks. It wasn’t just a small camp fire but it looked as if it was ten times the size of a simple fire, just what had Chro been told to do after she had left? Either way the peculiar day was only getting weirder as time passed by and with the darkness not changing it was becoming annoying for Emaya to decide what time it was and how long since she had left camp. Relying on your body clock at such a young age was useless as minutes felt like hours, and hours felt like minutes at times it was hopeless. Fortunately though all Emaya had to worry about was food and water, if she kept pace it would only take a day for her to get to the academy anyways, though first she needed to decide what to do with sticks. |
