Boredom.

This was all he had seen for months now.

The endless white sands and the scant trees and rocks every so often.

Dierro flapped his wings, soaring high above Hueco Mundo's skies. He saw a lot, but not everything. He had no Flight-path, no Guidence, no Direction. Just wherever the scarce winds of the Hollow World decided to push; Dierro followed. He was almost a slave to the gales of the wind. Dierro only ever stopped whenever he sensed Adjuchas fighting, or a particularly strong Adjuchas that radiated their reiatsu so that Dierro could do nothing but be compelled to at least see what was emitting it.

He seldom fought though, most Adjuchas were smart enough, and young enough, to know they were done if they even tried. Dierro didn't care. He was less of an individual now; more like a natural disaster that the forces of Hueco Mundo's "mother nature", if such a thing existed, would use upon those who stepped out of line.

Dierro ever so yearned for challenge, at the least. The few Adjuchas who would dare to step up to Dierro were powerful in their own right, indeed, had Dierro still been the Adjuchas just moments prior to transforming, such a battle would be worthy. But alas, Dierro was much too eclipsing over them. Though they were Hollow, Dierro and the Adjuchas he faced were as different as Night and Day.

He wanted more than challenge; he wanted that fear of knowing you might be killed, that rush.

Dierro wanted another who could meet his level, even if it was slightly under or completely over.

Dierro wanted another Vasto Lorde.

Alas, Dierro would not get a Vasto Lorde...

And so, Dierro flapped his wings, drifting with the aerial currents.

There was nothing satisfactory... There was just...

Boredom.

Was there?

The pale moon in the skies hid away Dierro. The yellow eyes saw through the jaw length brown hair, and through the round black glasses. Around him, on the dune, there was nothing. One the distance, also nothing. Only white sands, glowing faintly with the light of the moon, and the opaque quartz shining weakly with the moonlight. Rickard took his left hand towards the back of his neck, rubbing his hand between the fur necklace around the vest and his own skin through his tipless finger gloves. He sighed deeply; he had been on the walk for the past couple of days without giving off the faintest sensation of being tired, and yet, he had not found one single hollow who he could interact with. Seduce to the Los Enmascarados, threaten, kill, anything... Life had been boring for him...

And then again, despite not having seen the only one that he had ever truly followed, Zoraida-sama, he did have something that kept him at the very least entertained. It wasn't like he, in his mighty thinking, liked that being or anything. But there was something awfully interesting about that girl.

She didn't fear him.

Sure, ahah, you think too highly of yourself, right? No, Rickard thins of himself just about what he is, he makes sure to keep precise on that. He makes sure to keep track of everything he can. He could count how many hollow, shinigami and/or quincy he had ever killed, where the numbers not too off of the damn chart. But despite that, one thing he does know and he has this one tested is that every being he ever crossed felt fear just by looking at Rickard. That has passed on up until now. Everywhere he went, even within his own allies, there would be cowering; hollows looking down just to try and diminish the piercing sensation of fear, with no results of course. But this one girl seemed to look over the fear and actually interact with him. Zoraida did the same, sure, but she was more powerful than him. She displayed that to him when she forced him into arrancar. But not this girl...

Speaking of the little devil, still completely oblivious to the Vasto Lorde flying oh so near him, where was the youngling?

Much to Rickard's expectation, almost as if his thoughts had summoned the little pink haired Arrancar on cue, Ebony peeked her head out from behind a sand dune. Her curious eyes tracking Rickard, however she didn't hide out of fear of the man before her, quite the contrary. She was merely attempting to get the drop on old man Rickard, someone had to keep that old man on his toes or else he might get alzheimers and forget where he was. The moment Rickard appeared to be dazing off in thought the young girl launched herself out from behind the sand pile, obviously Rickard being as strong and educated in hollows and the like would have known long beforehand that his 'little shadow' had once again been tailing not too far behind him. Of course, her next action would have made it obvious even to the most uneducated person in raitsu. Jumping high into the air, the girl appeared to fumble through the air before she gave a crude form of attack, clearly she wasn't very skilled. But regardless her foot swung in a downward arc toward Rickard's head, a rather big devilish grin on the young girl's face, much like that of a child who was given a gift they had longed for.

Her white tunic billowed in the wind rather dramatically, her pink hair following suit while her arms spread out wide on either side. Finally she let out her 'war cry', if one could really call it that.
"RISE AND SHINE OLD MAN!"

A subtle sound on the sands behind him. Ah, there she was... as just as he thought that, it seemed to attract the little bugger like a powerful magnet. She came in, approaching, and when the presence seemed to be close enough, he rose his arm. A mere glance had allowed him to see her leg swinging down and he was able to effectively parry her. It had no strength into it, nothing to force Rickard to take serious measures. Plus, it was his little sister tomboy kinda thing, he didn't want to hurt her. Yet. So, in a humble display of mastery, he let his forearm slide until his hand caught her foot and locked tightly around it. "Jeez, you're such a pain..." Twisting her with his left arm, through his left side he flipped her reverse clockwise and finally whipped her as her body was slightly farther than his, whipping her skillfully so she would flip and land on her butt safely. It would either seem luck and/or lack of conserve or better strategy, but without ripping her into many pieces there was nothing more or less he could do. Plus, as he always said, he didn't want to kill her.

"You know, you never got me with that one... and you never will if your best tactic is running up to me and axe kick me." He sighed, looking down. He knew she wasn't powerful, and because of that she was not suited to follow him all the time. He might enter an interesting fight and she might end up dead, but truth was, she was about the only one insane or stupid enough to follow him around all the time. That had, most effectively, called his attention.

"Must I teach you everything?..."

Ebony was effectively flipped onto her butt, landing against the sand with a hard 'thud'. Her upper body was forced forward a bit, however she seemed to be unharmed save the obvious little infliction caused by Rickard. The pink haired wonder reached her hands around and rubbed her butt, wincing while she got up and looked over to Rickard with an expressive stance and finger cast in his direction.
"Someone has to make sure you stay awake, you would probably sleep all day long if not for me lazy old man."

However, he was Rickard, no matter how much of an old man he was still pretty awesome, so Ebony forgave him. Moving her hand backward toward her face, Ebony brushed the back of her pointer finger under her nose with a smirk, closing her eyes as she spoke in a clearly cocky manner.
"Only until I surpass you, shouldn't take long really. I've been practicing my awesome moves."

Dierro had to "hmm?". Though it was probably less of a vocalized question and more of a grunt. He began to look around. He was sure he heard a high voice yelling just moments ago, even up here in the sky.

He momentarily closed his eyes. His ears did not deceive him. He definitely heard Voices. And they did not sound like Hollows.

...

...

...

"Jeez, you're such a pain..."

!!!

Dierro's eyes shot open, the irises flaring wildly. Now that he felt whatever was speaking, he could feel it's power. He had to smile.

It was strong.

Real Strong.

He flapped his wings so the wind would stop aimlessly carrying him and began to fly as fast as he could towards the two reiatsu signatures. He could identify them, and when he did, he stopped. He noticed the most odd thing about the two, aside from the fact that the older looking one had turned his head in Dierro's direction, obviously at least having felt something. They were not Hollow; they looked... human?

How the hell did humans make it into Hueco Mundo?

More importantly; how have they not been eaten yet?

Then Dierro's mind jolted. Most important of all; why is one of them so god damned powerful?

No, that's only half right... One of them is very powerful... but the other one is also strong in her own right. She could definitely ward off any idiot Hollows, perhaps even a few Gillian or a single Adjuchas.

But that other one... the man...

He was strong...

Dierro grinned even wider than his mask normally allowed, and wanted to at the least see what the two 'humans' were doing in the quartz desert. Once again, with great force and sparing no expense to reduce his spiritual pressure, he blasted forward, beating his wings against the feeble sky of Hueco Mundo itself and soon met the two up close in person. First Dierro hailed above them, but then he beat his wings, just as hard but slower, so that he would descend at a good speed just enough to stand in front of the two.

Dierro smiled slightly at the two, "My, My, My, This is interesting."

Rickard, who mostly kept a faint smile on his face, had been with a bored frown on his face. As soon as Ebony, however, kicked on her "steps on his last nerves mode", a faint smile cracked back into his lips, giving him the creepy look of confidence that was enough to make opponents shiver and wonder. "Well, up until you surpass me, Ebony-nee-chan, you should just stay out of danger's way. And I mean me, of course." He wasn't trying to get her away or off his path, but she knew if she interfered with his plans and actions she would pay a most terrible price. And then, as he was about to pat her head to move past her, he heard off, in the distance, a def sound. It was like something or someone was nearby... expanding his Pesquisa he found it. Not that he had been targeting someone in particular, or like he had been tracking someone. But he found what he longed for... a potency. Power beyond measure of the weak ones, power high enough to flatten mountains and raise cascades of water... Could it be, that after all this time, he had... a worthy opponent.

He flicked his head towards the sound's direction, and as soon as it did, the source boosted up speed in their direction. As he approached, he began feeling the amount of his power... colossal. Rickard's faint smile remained on his lips, as he looked at him through his dark glasses. Stepping towards the Hollow while taking special care in getting Ebony behind him, he face the hollow as it landed.

"My, My, My, This is interesting."

Rickard kept looking at him... His structure, his power, it was overwhelming and mindblowing. Could he be in the presence of a legit... but it couldn't possibly be, could it? Then again, if his mind didn't lie to him, this much amount of power could only mean one thing... On his soft tone of voice, Rickard proceeded.

"I sure as hell hope so. Otherwise, this will be too short... Who might you be?...."

His eyes were faced on the Hollow's one's. Soon, he would have in front of him another cowing creature... or one standing firmly, if he was either what Rickard thought he was, or if he was just insane/stupid.

Ebony glanced over to the strange new creature, probably a dirty hollow, clearly whatever it was was no match for someone as awesome as Rickard, so she didn't worry too much. Jumping next to Rickard, on his left side Ebony gave a cocky grin and placed her hands on her hips, tilting her head to the side she tried her best to mimic Rickard's icy stare, but would clearly not measure up to his by far.
"Yeah jerk face, its rude to be a creepy peeping tom and just come on over like that. Of course were interesting, show some respect though or I'll have to pumble ya into the ground."

Moving her arms up to cross in front of her chest, the younger and much shorter girl attempted to look tuff, although considering the other two beings present she wouldn't be all that grand.

The man had moved the girl behind him, obviously he understood that Dierro's power eclipsed his, even if only slightly. Dierro stared into the man's eyes; or at least he tried to as he was wearing something over them. The Man was not afraid, if anything, it seemed he was almost... glad... to see Dierro.

Very soft-spoken, he said, "I sure as hell hope so. Otherwise, this will be too short... Who might you be?...."

And then, without warning, Dierro was overwhelmed.

He wasn't beaten or overcome with a stronger sense of pressure, no. That wasn't it. This Man... if he even was one... was... empty... His very voice and the sole feeling of his being demanded fear. It imposed a false, or perhaps very real, fear onto whoever stood next to him. It was as if he symbolized the end of all existence.

"Yeah jerk face, its rude to be a creepy peeping tom and just come on over like that," the girl said, putting on a visage of foolhardy courage, "Of course were interesting, show some respect though or I'll have to pumble ya into the ground."

Dierro's eyes widened slightly the moment that the man spoke; not even the girl's moment-killer could hamper the effect, for his voice was filled with utter terror that it could likely bring most to their knees, begging for mercy. But that was not Dierro. Dierro didn't even wince, not missing a beat at the man's feeling of emptiness. Dierro, still smiling, finally opened his mouth and said, "Dierro... King of Hueco Mundo's skies."

Dierro's composure crumbled. He began to tremble, though this had nothing to do with the fear that was being pushed on him. Dierro trembled because, for once, he was excited.

"And," Dierro said, smiling wider now, "the interesting two of you are---?"

Rickard didn't bother to react to Ebony's comment. She had always been awfully cheerful even when the moment didn't ask for it, when the moment asked even for the very opposite. But something about the Hollow... He spoke. And it was then that Rickard realized what he was facing. Dierro spoke without a gaping sensation of fear that would normally impair his adversaries' voices, making them widen their eyes and start to strobe with breathing difficulties. This was the kind of opponent that was... excited, from the possibility of a match?

Looking over and comparing their own reiatsus, the creature seemed to be on equal footing, above his, even, if possible. No, he definitely was stronger than Rickard. Rickard's expression didn't move. His muscles remained still. His eyes were locked on the Hollow's, though the Hollow couldn't stare back directly through the sunglasses.

But inside, Rickard was pumping! He felt a jolting feeling that started on his gut, a cold and refreshing feeling, and soon it spread through his internal organs, up his lunges, through his shoulders and down his arms. He gripped his fist tight under the finger tipless glove, looking at what seemed was an Even Match. A possibility of an amazing battle between two potency of Hueco Mundo.

"Dierro... King of Hueco Mundo's skies."

King of Hueco Mundo's skies... it seemed he didn't have any problems with setting himself pretty high on a pedestal. On the other hand, who was Rickard to comment on that? The Hollow... it seemed to begin to feel like Rickard... excited....

And... the interesting two of you are---?"

Rickard's lips parted, and he spoke on his soft decieving voice yet again.

"My name, Dierro, is Rickard Knox."

Giving Dierro his Battery nickname info would be useless, he doubted it'd gain Rickard anything. And if anything, Ebony would most likely boast it on her own... With his right hand going to his mid chest weight, he took a small bow, never unlocking his eyes from Dierro, his stance rippling reality as he took the light bow with striking awkwardness at the lack of existance on the spot he stood and moved.

"My name, Dierro, is Rickard Knox."

Rickard's voice, though harrowing and unnaturally haunting, was like musical ecstasy to Dierro. He relished in hearing it. It excited him grossly to the extent that he wanted to wrend his flesh apart. The longer he stood next to Rickard the more he understood him.

He could see the two arrowheads beneath his eyes.

They were undoubtedly the same material as Dierro's own hollow mask.

"You... are not human..." Dierro said, trying to bring himself to stop trembling, as he was becoming much too excited for his own good. "Let me know, what are you," he said, unable to hold back his most widest smile, "so that I may know the identification of what it is I'm about to kill."

Dierro stopped for a moment. Not physically, but up in his head.

Did he really just say that? Dierro never started the fight.

Oh well...

What's done is done.

"You... are not human..." Well, it seemed Rickard was dealing with a real genius here, wasn't he? He smirked ever so slightly. [/i]"Let me know, what are you, so that I may know the identification of what it is I'm about to kill."[/i] Rickard's smirk widened by the slightest ever again. This Hollow... he was transmitting, infecting Rickard with his own excitement. Rickard was about to chuckle, what effect was this Hollow and his talk having on him.

Not only that, the Hollow, if unintentionally, made a direct threat at Rickard's life and existence. No one... and NO ONE apart from Zoraida had ever felt so secure about effectively killing him off, and yet this Hollow actually believed his words. Rickard now showed his teeth in a grin, not as the wide one from the hollow, but a slim one, a contained and collected on.

"You just need to know... We..." He hesitated for a moment, as he quietly took Ebony out of the equation. "...I, am the tool of your death. I am... was... formerly a Hollow. Now, I'm much more. Why don't you come, we'll see if you're worthy of getting more info outta me..." In a defying tone he challenged Dierro. He wanted to carve him down to skin bone and blood, to bash his mask inside his head in and implode his organs by pounding his hammer hand at his chest, but he wanted to see just what Dierro was capable of.

Dierro wondered if he was getting used to Rickard's aura of emptiness and nonexistence. He finally quelled the trebling. And the threat did nothing to return it. Dierro felt in control now, but the brooding pit in his heart, or whatever he had, was still there. "Tool of my death?" Dierro laughed, "You hardly look like you could stand up to me."

Dierro expanded his wings far, "So, once a hollow you say? Pittied your ugly existence and wished to become human again, did you?" Dierro jumped back, then began to beat his wings once again against the sky, staying well within reach and expanding sharpened bones from his wrists and tail. "But you seem confident," he said, grinning, "and that will be your undoing. You should know better than to tangle with a king!"

And with that, Dierro blasted forward as fast as he could, with the fullest intention of ramming into Rickard.

Rickard smiled.

"Tool of my death? You hardly look like you could stand up to me."

First mistake... Appearances can deceive...

"So, once a hollow you say? Pittied your ugly existence and wished to become human again, did you? But you seem confident, and that will be your undoing. You should know better than to tangle with a king!"

Tangle a King?...

"If you are a King, you have a kingdom. If your kingdom is the skies, I'll just have to tear 'em apart. As any battery, I'll break into your kingdom and plant horror into your heart, and carve it well up in your skull. For I am the Battery."

Rickard's tone had evolved, it was now more fluent with passion for battle. Dierro's teases served their purpose, if he meant to get Rickard on the mood to a fight to the death.

And then, there it was, a full blown Vasto Lorde, or so Rickard thought, ready to kill him. He hadn't felt this thrill in a long time... Touching Ebony on her right side of her hips, just where her center of gravity was, he pulled her off with enough strength to send her flying yards away towards her left, getting out of harm's way. As Dierro came, Rickard took a small sprint towards Dierro and jumped into the air, first with his left leg, sipping so that his right leg could gain height and then when Dierro was in range, bringing his leg down hard with as much power as he could stress against the colossal force that was just going against him.

Ebony had remained somewhat silent standing next to Rickard, quite the rarity as she shook her head in agreement with nearly everything he stated. By the time he had gotten to the whole, we part of the conversation Ebony had extended one of her arms so that her own thumb pointed back at her.
"HELL YEAH WERE, wait what?"

The girl's jet black eyes shifted over to Rickard when he apparently removed the we in place of an I, damn old man was up to his tricks again, trying to leave Ebony out of his little speech. Before she was able to complain, which she WAS about to do, Rickard had grasped and thrown her off to the side. The instance happened fairly quickly, and she didn't have the ability to resist as she was cast to the side of the igniting fight and landed face first in a pile of sand. Getting up and dusting her clothes off, Ebony raised a fist to the air and shook it violently at the two. Originally it was meant for Rickard, however when she saw that creepy peeping tom was attacking and the two would likely fight she shook it in Rickard's favor. That old man would show mr. 'king' of the skies a thing or two, and hell yeah she would have a front row seat to see Rickard's badass moves.
"BOOOYA BATTERY! RAM HIS ASS INTO THE GROUND!"

She had an innocence about her comment that suggested the pun wasn't intended, pumping her fist into the air full of excitement for seeing Rickard kick another hollows ass.
