As you may or may not know, there's a lot of places going out of business these days. One of them was KB Toys, a place that I've worked at for a little over a year as an assistant manager. There are still some stores open, but all KB toys will be closed by February 10th at the very latest. What may be the saddest part about all this is that KB Toys was founded before the great depression and started out originally as a candy store, then it was turned into a hobby shop, and then into a toy store. Over the years it has prospered, but in the current economic crisis, it couldn't withstand the blows and no longer could afford to pay the bills required to keep the company opened.

The company filed for bankruptcy on December 12th of 2008, and the store at Westland mall in Westland Mi was oficially closed for business on January 22 at 3:15 pm when a couple gentlemen came into the store and decided to purchase the remainder of it's contents.

This photo used to represent the preschool aisle that was filled with cute and fun educational toys for children that would help them learn quicker and excel in their development by such brands as Fisher Price, Little Tikes, V-Tech and Leap Frog.

This photo used to represent the cashwrap where the handful of loyal employees that were employed at our small and humble store would cash out customers with excellent customer service and incredible integrity. (That Bunnie on the counter was the only thing left un-purchased, as you can see.)

This is the semi-well known lable and lettering accompanying all KB stores...

Which is now nothing more than a dead ghost that will fade away with time.
