~Adramelech~ Nickname: Andrea or Andy Race: Demon Age: 17 Gender: Begrudgingly female ![]() A little something about her: After achingly and painstakingly dragging himself from the depths of hell, Adramelech was a shocked as anyone to find himself in the body of a teenage girl. He, now apparently a she, had blond hair that stretched down nearly to the backs of her knees. On a whim she tried dying it purple, to make herself look more hard core, but she ran out half way through, resulting in hair that began purple at the roots and faded to pink. Intent on acting the male presence she had been in hell, she refused to admit to anyone that she actually liked how it looked now, even if it was an accident. Andy had sided with Lucifer once upon a time but unlike many of her peers, she didn't harbor any great dislike of humans. Also, she hated hell. She simply couldn't find the kind of perverse home there that many had resigned themselves to. That's why she started working her way out of there as soon as she heard of this Purgatory thing. Getting there was certainly a shock, gender switch aside. However, Andy quickly learned that she loved this living thing. Feeling, touching, smelling, tasting, these humans had it good! Not really all that interesting in fighting Angels or keeping the City in Hell's hold, she wants to try everything these humans have to offer. She'd try anything once, and probably a second or third time, just for the hell of it. She's particularly partial towards the scattered technology she finds around Purgatory. Cars a very few and far between but through a lot of dealing she was able to get her hands on a 1986 Nissan 300zx, bright red. It was her baby and she protected it as such. It was hardly the most expensive thing in her possession however. Her home was filled with treasures, Chippendale furniture, tiffany lamps, Manolo Blahnik shoes, the occasional Fabergé egg or mink coat. Her house would be a dream come true for any thief stupid enough to try and rob it. Not that you'd ever know it. She hardly flaunts her possessions and has never let anyone into her house. She doesn't care about people knowing she has the things, she just likes having them. She is one of the few bright things in the generally dark City but it's a comfortless light. Andy is the resident arms dealer in Purgatory. Skills Stats:
Powers: Technologically Adept: Given Andy's affection for all things human, she has found herself very adept at using the sparse technology scattered about the City. Notable with her driving in particular, Andy can drive at excessive speeds and maneuver the trickiest terrain without crashing. She can also fix most things that few care about any more, that's how her baby is still moving. This also means that she has found herself particularly adept with guns. Always kept in pristine condition, she has fantastic aim. Acrobatics: Even by the supernatural standards that angels and demons can move at, Andy is exceptionally limber and flexible, having been more willing to practice will it and not hating her body so much as the others do. Aside from this, however, she is not very powerful. She was never one of the greater demons, never a general or such, so she's really not very strong. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -=Astarte=- Age: 26 Gender: Female Species: Demon ![]() A sprinkling of character: Astarte is the kind of girl who gets things done. It can be nearly impossible to steer her from her path if she is determined. Never one for trading pleasantries, she is much the classic image of a demon. She cares little for others and will never willingly intercede on someone else's behalf unless there was something for her to gain from it. She always acts polite, but only in word. She says 'have a nice day' and makes it sound like 'go die in a ditch'. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ..::Uriel::.. Also known as: Nuriel, Uryan, Jeremiel, Vretil, Sariel, Suriel, Puruel, Phanuel, and Jehoel. Titles: Fire of God, Archangel of Purity, Angel of Earth, Guardian of Eden, The Divine Fire, Patron of the Arts Race: Archangel Age: Older than the stars Dialogue Color: Red ![]() Personality: Since the dawn of creation, Uriel has wandered the earth with mankind. It was she that was placed as the angel of the Earth, posed by God with the task to oversee many of it's happenings. While her fellow angels were sent to deliver messages and communicate with humanity, Uriel spoke with them rarely, even though she dwelt among them. It was she that sees the Lord's will be done, checking the doors for lambs blood during the plague (Exodus 12:29) and wrestling with Jacob at Peniel (Gen. 32:24-32). When her fire is contained in the grate, Uriel can be a very warm and bright person. She does truly enjoy the company of man and that of fellow members of the heavenly host even more. When she is with someone on friendly terms, she'll always be smiling and laughing. Most of her humor tends to lean towards the sarcastic side, but she always means it lightheartedly. If she's wandering out amoung the crowd, she'll do any little good she can. Everyone is one of God's creation after all. Uriel does not have the title of Patron of the Arts for no reason. In her free time, she could just about always be found admiring the arts. Whether it is watching a play or visiting an art gallery, the arts are something that she really cares for. While she has notable talent in dancing and her singing is of course the exceptional level of the archangels, her really love has always been painting. It is one of the oldest arts, spanning back to when mankind was just starting to get a foothold in the caves. She also has a bit of a secret love for the cute and fuzzy but you didn't hear that from me. Unfortunately, Uriel has a tempter quite befitting her name. When she gets worked up, the fire tends to jump out of the fire pit and start lighting trees on fire. She can be very quick to act and her first answer to many things is confrontation, which has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion. The main thing that tends to draw this side out of her is demons. She still blames them for the discord in the world so when she can she sends them back to where they came from. She is usually rather rational but seeing someone, even a human, trying to spread the chaos will put her over the edge. Also, the sight of Lucifer, whom she always refers to by his God given name of Lucifel if not using a title, is one of the main things to set her off. She blamed him for everything that was wrong with creation and she still had to pay him back for that scar. Uriel isn't a very withdrawn person. No matter the situation she will say what she is thinking unless it serves her purpose to stay silent. Despite her tendency towards seemingly rash actions, Uriel is not stupid. She won't rush into a situation blindly nor will she do something that is going to harm herself or those around her. However, she is, depending on the situation, willing to sacrifice a few pawns for the greater good. Oddly enough she would rather see one of her own killed than lose the life of an innocent bystandard. Physical Appearance: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u128/Tymuko/Ava1-1.png http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u128/Tymuko/KaoriNight2.jpg Because she spends most of her time on Earth, save for on special occasions, Uriel spends most of her time walking around in her human guise. Taking on the image of a young woman, Uriel stands at a decent 5'10'' with pale skin. That combined with her bright red hair makes her look very Irish. However, instead of green, her eyes are a shard of sky blue. Given who and what she was, the sky blue eyes and fire red hair fit her just right. With the figure 34 23 34 she is not hard on the eyes but her own appearance is not something that she pays too much attention to. However, that doesn't mean that she looks shabby. Always fascinated by the new styles and trends that mankind was creating, and as the angel of the arts, she has collected some beautiful outfits during her travels. While they may not always be the newest or the most expensive they were always beautiful, each in their own way. Given how much time she spends in human form, she was happy to learn that it was rather similar to how she really looks. However there are some differences. While in human form her hair reaches down to below her shoulder blades and tends to curl, her hair in her true form reaches just down to her shoulders and is completely straight. Also, her eyes are a dark shade of red but this couldn't translate out to her human form. As with all the host, Uriel in her true form has a pair of bright white wings. Powers & Weapons: Sword of Fire: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u128/Tymuko/FireSword3.png Upon man's expulsion from the Garden, The Lord placed Uriel at it's gates and armed her with a fiery sword (Genesis 3.24). While Uriel's guard at the eastern entrance may be more lax than it had been in centuries past, given the fact that no one had made any sort of storm upon Eden, Uriel still keeps the sword given to her by the Almighty with her at all times. While not in use, the blade seems normal. Well, not normal per say. It looks exquisite, the master piece of its maker if you didn't know better. The handle of the sword looks like it is made of pure gold, and a very beautifully designed pas d'ane, cortre-garde, and branch wrap ornately around the grip. The blade was made of the purest and strongest of steal, always glistening no matter how much it is used. Aside from being absolutely breath taking, this sword has another unique quality. It is completely unaffected by heat or fire. Using her powers as the Fire of God, Uriel is able to send flames flickering down the blade of the sword, causing the whole thing to seem ablaze. Because the Sword was given to Uriel by God, she is the sole person intended to wield the blade. After so many years of use and being heated to such extreme temperatures it is merely by its own powers that it is not at so high a temperature that it doesn't light anything it touches on fire all by its own. While it is fine set atop a table or hidden beneath clothing, should anyone aside from Uriel try to touch it they would be lucky to walk away with 5th degree burns. They would feel every single degree of its natural temperature after all those thousands of years of being regularly lit on fire. Also, given the thousands of years she has had to practice, Uriel's sword fighting abilities are very near to perfect, no matter the style. Fire of God: The source of the Sword's flames and Uriel's main power. It is a chicken or the egg with Uriel and this power, it is so much a part of who she is. Uriel was not painted with a open flame in the palm of her left hand because of her title. During Enoch's mind numbingly boring tour, Uriel might have been flicking a few flames between her fingers and it would seem that word just spread from there. As the Fire of God, she was given by the almighty, at her creation, power over fire. With a mere thought Uriel and craft a flame her hands. With this power alone she could easily be able to light a building ablaze. She's actually been known to light whole cities on fire when she's upset. However, most of the time she cares about the welfare of innocent onlookers and would rather keep her powers confined. The divine flame burns hotter than any flame mankind has managed to create. The reason that Uriel needs the Sword given her by God is because any other blade would melt within minutes of use. As well as being able to create a flame within her hand she is able to branch it down anything she is touching, though only with the bare skin of her hand. This is why the Sword seems to be ablaze when she is using it. However, unlike the sword, everything else reacts just how it normally would to fire. Uriel is one of the other exceptions to this rule. It would not make much sense for her to be just as flammable as the rest of her kind given her powers so another aspect of her Fire of God ability is that she can control how effected she is by heat. The Tsayadim As the head of the third order of angels, Uriel has a good many followers. As is understandable for many angels to be, many of the angels in this order are attracted to her almost fanatical worship of the lord and completely supported her crusades against the Nephilim. Their name meaning 'hunters', the Tsayadim are much alike Uriel in their willingness to bend the rules if it means doing a greater good. Like their leader, the Tsayadim spend most of their time on earth, doing what good they can there. Uriel is able to contact any of the Tsayadim with a thought but they are only able to reach her through normal means. As stronger angels capable of leaving heaven to wander the earth, the Tsayadim have the power of ten human men. In a sort of testament to Uriel's statues at the wielder of the Sword of Fires, the Tsayadim specialize in sword play but they also have great hand to hand abilities. When summoned any Tsayadim close enough will come to Uriel's aid (which will never be more than 20 at a time in character). They're like most angels in that when they suffer what would be a mortal wound they are sent back up to heaven and if their wings were ever to be severed they would become mortal just like the rest. Cleansing by Flames While she has many powers with which to hurt, as an angel, Uriel also has the power to heal. As with the cleansing fires of the sacrifice, Uriel is able to use the flame to cleanse others and heal wounds. While it works best on herself since she is the source of the healing, she can heal others too given time. Sending heat down to wounds she is able to cauterize them shut within moments even in the heat of battle. It is nearly impossible to make her die from bleeding to death. However it takes her a full minute to completely heal a wound about two inches long and an inch deep. Her healing powers are proportionate in time to the size of the wound, judging off the larger dimension. So a wound that is only an inch long but goes into her five inches would take five minutes to heal. She is able to heal at others at half this rate. What would take her two minutes to fix on herself would take four for someone else. A rather significant downside to this power is that while it is healing someone it feels like the injured area is being very badly burned. Since Uriel can control how effected she is by heat this is not a downside to her but anyone else she tries to help would have to be able to stand it. It is easily endured on small scales, one minute maybe two, however if someone is very badly injured and it would take 15 minutes to heal, that is 15 minutes of an intense burning sensation. Heavenly Strength While humanity is the Lord's final creation, it would hardly be reasonable for one of His highest servants to be easily overpowered by any one of mankind. While not one with the body type built for great strength, she none the less had physical power five times greater then that of a normal human. Much more built for it, her speed is ten times that of a human and because of her eons of swordplay, her agility and reflexes are easily twenty times that of the final creation. History: In the beginning there was God. Who is to say how long after Uriel was created. Certainly she was amongst the first, made after the morning star and along side Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, but years were much harder to count back then. Suns and stars tended to help with that kind of thing. The exact number was never very important to her. The times before the creation of man were her favorites. All that was had perfect harmony, all of creation singing in one voice the glory of the Lord. If it were her choice, Uriel would turn back to that time. It was with the creation of mankind that this harmony was destroyed. Uriel holds no ill will against humanity, they could not help the way the Lord made them. It was Lucifer's witnessing of their kind that caused the discord. This is why she harbors such a resentment towards Lucifer and his followers. It was with their rebellion than all the goodness of the creation began to taint. She had seen all the death and pain his vain rebellion caused, personally serving as a leader to the heavenly host, commanding the Tsayadim who followed her closely. She herself had even engaged the Morning Star. Despite the fact that of the heavenly host her fighting prowess was second only to Michael, as the first and strongest of the Lord's creation, Lucifel overpowered her, scarring her wings in his attempt to remove them before her loyalists arrived to her aid. After Lucifel failed to take down the Throne in his proud and misconceived uprising, things just went from bad to worse. Uriel had been there the day that the Lord discovered Adam and Eve's prideful act of disobedience against their Father, the day they became mortal. She wept their lose, (Genesis 3.19), and took up her station at the gateway to the Garden, Fiery Sword in hand. When their time of passing came, Uriel helped to bury Adam and his murdered son Abel. Having been placed the caretaker of the earth, she watched with sorrow as mankind drifted further and further from their Father, each generation's sin worse than the last. Seeing the horrors taking place upon creation Uriel, Gabriel, Raphael, and Micheal approached God about the sins being committed and the terrors that the Giants were making (Enoch 9.1-2) and God judged the lives of the creation unfit to be. One thing that most people don't know is that the Lord for a while there seemed to very sincerely consider simply taking them out of existence completely. However Uriel, along side Raphael and Gabriel, argued for humanity, asking the Lord to spare the few remaining good. It was she that argued most passionately against the Nephilim and those angels which saw to their creation. She still had a chip on her shoulder about the discord and these unholy hybrids were precisely what she was against. She was very happy with the choice to flood the earth but save the few remaining good men. It was Uriel herself that came down to Noah to warn him of the coming flood (Enoch 10.1). After the great flood and the destruction of the Nephilim, Uriel's interactions with humans as a divine being were much decreases. It was Uriel that was charged with renaming Jacob as Israel, soon to be the name of God's chosen people (Genesis 32.27-28). Jacob was more than a little stubborn and Uriel had to pull his hip out of joint before he would stop. It was probably because the Lord knew Uriel would do so that he sent her down. That's her story and she's sticking to it. Aside from that and being charged with the task of guiding Enoch, a task which was quite the test of her patience, Uriel kept a pretty low profile. She was around during the life of Christ however, she did not play any staring role in his tale. She spent most of the rest of her time wandering around the Earth, doing whatever the Lord almighty told her to, which brings her to a lovely little villa on the coast of lower Italy. Quotations: Genesis (2.17) - “but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for when you eat from it you shall die.” Genesis (3.24) - “He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a sword flaming and turning to guard the way to the tree of life.” Genesis (32.27-28) - “So she aid to him, “what is your name?” And he said, “Jacob.” Then the woman said, “You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans, and have prevailed.” Enoch (9.1-2) - “And then Michael, Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel looked down from heaven and saw much blood being 2 shed upon the earth, and all lawlessness being wrought upon the earth. Enoch (10.1) - “Then said the Most High, the Holy and Great One spake, and sent Uriel to the son of Lamech, and said to her: "<Go to Noah> and tell him in my name 'Hide thyself!' and reveal to him the end that is approaching: that the whole earth will be destroyed, and a deluge is about to come upon the whole earth, and will destroy all that is on it."
