Nikki parked her truck and grabbed her weapons bag before she went to the gate. It would be at least half hour before Camden showed up since she told him eight thirty in the text she'd sent him. She just hoped she had no trouble tonight, but then again, nothing ever went the way she wanted it to. Nikki walked around checking for fresh graves making sure that nobody had robbed the graves lately. She never noticed till lately that she checked all the cemeteries in all the towns she went to. It was force of habit in a way. It was one the places that she felt safe in, even though it was one the places that scared most people. She sat down on the nearest head stone to the gate. She was just looking around waiting on Camden to show up since she really didn't want to go and check the supposedly haunted one of the Masuleum's in the cemetery. Nikki crossed her arms after looking at her watch. She has showed up half an hour early so she could be there before Camden. It was a pet peeve of hers she has to be there before the other person. Her brother has always been upset when she did that too. Nikki took out her cell and looked through her numbers. She smiled seeing Camden at the top then the Winchester's followed him. It had been so long it seemed like she had seen them. She really wanted to call or go see them eventually, the last time she'd saw Dean it was right after the apocalypse had happened. "What the crap," Nikki yelled out as she was tackled to the ground. She had the wind knocked out of her and before she could even see who had her she was being pinned to the ground. She grabbed the vamp by the throat and threw him off of her before she got to her knees. "Why do I always get attacked?" She asked herself as she went after the vamp. She was doing great until she was thrown of balance and the vamp grabbed her by the neck. Nikki knew it wasn't going to be pleasant landing as she was thrown into the side of the masuleum. She hadn't healed from her other injuries and now she was about to get more. She wished that she had waited for Camden now as she colliaded with the masuleum. The last thing she knew was that it was getting fuzzy right before the vamp grabbed her by the hair pulling her so that it had its fangs bared to her neck. She tried to grab machette that was right beside her, but it was just too far. She closed her eyes as she thought she was going to die, however she kept kicking and screaming hoping that somebody would show up soon. Edited by Nikki, Mon May 11, 2009 9:16 pm.

Camden arrived a half hour early and saw that Nikki's truck was parked on the road. He got out with hopes of finding her sitting inside of maybe dozing off or tying her shoe. He had a feeling that wasn't to be but he looked anyway. Great, he said to himself. He moved with grace and was silent as he went about looking for her among the shadows. He didn't think it was a good idea to yell in a grave yard if you didn't have too. Then there were sounds that came to his ears. It might have been his military training but either way he saw some shadows moving then realize they were real. He raced over to where the person who could have been anything from a distance leaned down over Nikki. She seemed to put up a hell of a fight then she was thrown across the yard. He admired her efforts. "Shit," he said as he ran over to the vamp who was baring it fangs at him with a hiss. He grabbed it by the neck and flung it but it got up with lightening speed as Camden reached down to grabbed the dropped machete. "No way to treat a lady," he said as he made a wide swing and cut off the vamp's head. Edited by Camden St. James, Mon May 11, 2009 9:21 pm.

"No way to treat a lady," Nikki smiled when she heard those words coming from a familiar voice. She'd thought she'd been a goner for few seconds there. She pulled herself off the ground and went to stand beside Camden and the now headless vamp. She didn't know how to really thank him there had only been couple people to save her life and she'd just thanked them with a pat on the back since she was related to one and friends with the other. "Thanks for that, the thing came out of nowhere, I was just sitting on the head stone waiting on you and boom I'm on the ground, guess I should paid attention little better" Nikki told him as she moved her hand to her side holding it. She hoped he didn't noticed because she was sure that her ribs were now bruised even more if not cracked. Nikki looked around for her cell before picking it up off the ground making a slight groaning noise when she did so. "I thought it was safe however, I walked around and checked the area before I sat down," she said to him looking at him for the first time. Nikki got her head back to the reason that she had asked Camden to come out here. She had a hunch that there was a spirit in this area, but now the vamp had come out nowhere she wanted to find out if there was a nest. "You want to salt and burn it then see if there are anymore?" Nikki asked she was little nerves on what he might say about how she'd been somewhat careless, "I came out here cause of a spirit that has been haunting this place," she told him before she pocket her cell and picked up the vamps head. "Guess I should had my back up on me, I left it on the back the truck," Nikki said as she walked towards her truck so she could get the salt, matches and gas so she could burn the vamp. Camden bent over to help Nikki up from the ground. She looked bruised and banged up. He could only shake his head, "Look I don't know you or how you operate but any hunter worth his salt waits for a partner if at all possible especially when one is on the way. It only took what two minutes for you to get in trouble because as you see I am here," Camden said as he looked down at Nikki. He had been afraid of being later than he wanted to be after the few seconds he actually spoke with his sister. She had apologized for going on and on but she was frustrated. Camden told her he understood and promised to call for a real chat in a couple of days because he wanted to get to the meeting with Nikki in case she had problems. It was a good thing he had arrived when he had. "Guess I should had my back up on me, I left it on the back the truck," "You should have waited for me, though it seems you think you can handle all of this I really hope that you will let me teach you a few things about timing, waiting, and being prepared better," he said then realized he had started a rant of his own. He sighed, "Yes we should burn the body, let's get on that," he said with a smile, "I do admire your fearlessness," he said as they went to gather the things for the task. Nikki knew he was right, she should have just stayed in the truck, but she was used to doing most things on her own since her brother took off six months earlier leaving her alone to hunt. She wanted to tell him that, but it was no use, it was just an excuse and she really didn't want him forbiding her from hunting, he might know her, but he could have ties with other hunters and those other hunters could know her brother or worse could know Bobby. That wouldn't be good if that happened so she just didn't say anything about that. "You're right," Nikki said with a sigh, "I should have waited in the truck, instead of coming out here, I guess I have been off my game lately," She said as she looked up at him. "Thanks for saving my ass, and thanks for coming also, I probably would been a cooked duck if I hadn't asked you out here," She told him as she walked with him back to her truck. "I do admire your fearlessness," Nikki heard those words and smiled a little, under all the panic on her safety, which just showed that he cared even though he didn't know her. "I want you to get to know me," Nikki said remembering his earlier words about not knowing her, "And thanks for the compliment even though I don't deserve it right now," she told him as she reached over the side her truck grabbing the gasoline and the salt. She stepped up on the tire and climbed over the side the truck instead of going around to get the tarp she had and few the other weapons. She wanted to be on the safe side this time. She knew that if they went farther inside the cemetery then things could get worse. "We could always train in there so nobody can see us," Nikki said as she jumped off the side the truck. She landed on her two feet but lost her balance and colided with Camden taking them both to the ground almost. Luckily she grabbed him instead of falling and when she grabbed him she could feel his muscles and she knew he probably still worked out. Edited by Nikki, Mon May 11, 2009 10:32 pm.

Camden wasn't going to go on and on about the issue of her carlessness he didn't see any reason for it. She seemed to get the idea just fine. At the truck he watched her grabbed the tools and was taken by surprise when she landed on him though he kept on his feet and grabbed her to keep her up. He could only shake his head. It was a good thing they met when they did he thought. Nikki was not in a position to do much more hunting with her skills Camden reasoned. The was the other thing to where he was attracted to her way of confidence. He smiled as she landed in his arms when he helped her stay standing. If the place had been different he might have kissed her. "You okay, Nikki, maybe you had too much to drink," he teased her as they began to go back to take care of their task. The looked around a bit after the salt and burn as taken care of but they didn't see anything else happening. If they had been paying more attention, since they were chatting it up, they might have seen the spirit as it watched them go to their vehicles. Camden said good night to Nikki at the car and he told her he would call her tomorrow with a time and place to meet for some one to one training for her. He pulled her into a hug as he stood by her truck, it was a consolation to what he wanted to do because no matter what else they were still strangers. He thought that might change real soon but tonight just wasn't the night for a sleepover. |
