Nymmur’ss grinned. Finally, she showed fear. Just as he was about to pluck the hairs out, he heard and felt the clap of thunder and flash of lightening. He kept his focus on Ryvala, however, noticing that he’d accidentally nicked her in that moment. Well, at least he didn’t slit anything too important, and at least her fear was still most definitely present. It was time to harvest what he came for. Reaching to the top of Ryvala’s head, Nymmur’ss forcefully plucked three hairs, stood up, and headed toward the flap of the tent.

Before he left, he explained, “I have now harvested the part of your body Magus has asked me to retrieve.

And with that, Nymmur’ss quickly ducked out of the tent. He didn’t want to give her a chance to react in fury over him terrifying her, especially when what he took was so insignificant. Instead, he hurried over to where he’d left the amulet, grabbing it up and finishing it by tying it closed with those three red hairs he’d plucked. As he did so, Nymmur’ss watched for Ryvala, suspecting she’d likely emerge enraged, and likely would want to punish him for his actions.

Due to the chaos going on between him and Ryvala, Nymmur’ss didn’t even notice Kayra or the fact that Magus was eating a severed hand. When Ryvala burst out of her tent, bow in hand, clearly prepared to shoot the drow, he became entirely focused on survival. He had just finished tying off the top of the amulet with the strands of her hair and, pulling out the parchment and reading the scroll, carefully pronouncing each word as he did so, he clutched the amulet and tried to move out of the way. If the spell worked as he hoped, he’d appear to be much closer to Ryvala and, more importantly, not in a direct line to where the real Nymmur’ss was.

If the spell did not work, or if her aim was set into place before the spell completed, then while his movements would mean she wouldn’t actually hit his heart, the number of things he was doing at the same time ensured that he wouldn’t be able to dodge her arrow completely, and it would likely hit him in the shoulder at least.

He hissed in pain and grabbed his arm as the arrow grazed it, but considered himself fortunate. The injury shouldn’t hinder him too much, and for the moment he was safe as Ryvala fired at the illusion, the arrow harmlessly passing through it. However, not knowing whether she’d figure out that it was an illusion or if she’d believe he’d gained some sort of intangibility, he knew there may be a limited amount of time before she began to to try and work out where he really was. In that case, naturally, the most important thing was to move in case she tried shooting where he was before.

Pulling out his knife, he attempted to sneak up behind her so that he could press the blade against her throat. From such a position, there was little she could do against him with a bow and arrow, after all.

Nymmur'ss didn't want to anger Magus any more than Ryvala did and, more than that, with her no longer attempting to kill him, he saw no reason to remain awake. He was a bit disgruntled, though, that the wizard had dispelled his illusion when he'd been using it for survival and, moreso, in order to survive due to him following Magus's instructions. Considering the fact that Magus had instructed Nymmur'ss to do other things that would have made Ryvala even angrier, he did wonder why it was that the wizard hadn't been expecting that.

Still, instead of voicing this, Nymmur'ss returned to his tent and laid down. Annoyance aside, he realized that this was power he truly wanted. To be able to simply command Ryvala to go to bed and have her do so despite the fact that he knew Ryvala likely had her own anger at the wizard, seeing as he was the one to create the situation before. To be able to command someone like himself as well, though Nymmur'ss had to admit, as things were currently it was likely more impressive to be able to command Ryvala than himself.

That would change, though. That would change.

And with that thought, Nymmur'ss drifted off to sleep.
