Black hair? Black hair would definatly not suit her. She walked beside him, small tendrils of hair being blown in the light air she created from her passing. The hair was blown enough to keep her scar revealed and wasn't easy to hide. "No not black." She attempted to draw some of her hair over her shoulder to conceal the scar, but the breeze just blew it back. Eventually she gave up, sighing.

His next question caught her a bit off guard. The..paladins? Had she heard of them in the past year? Maybe..? She couldn't remember. "Umm...I honestly wouldn't know. I haven't heart that much about these Holy Lands. What do you know of them?" She was hoping that something he said might jog somthing of her memory if she indeed had heard of them before.

He yawned loudly, eyeing her scar obviously before folding his arms together. He tilted his head and closed his eyes giving a very obvious body sign of thought. "Mmmm... Well I just know that Paladins go on a pilgrimage to the four holy lands of the continents." An eye opened as he smiled. "And that's where we're headed."

He knew better than to ask her about her scar, not only was it disrespectful to question a deformity.. It would be a downright insult to ask a woman. The foliage became heavier and heavier, enough so that Miklos could draw his sword and playfully swing at stray branches. This was how he usually killed time.

Anna smiled as she watched him carve a path through the greenery. Wait. She was smiling? NO. Her smile fell and she became expressionless. She noticed him looking at her scar and it made her uneasy. She wanted him to ask where she got it simply for conversation other than these paladins, but then again, she didn't want to ask because she didn't truthfully know. She knew she drempt of the original injury and how she lost her memory, the dream kept pushing through in the night as if willing her to remember it, but she couldn't. She hoped one day, she would remember.

She blinked her bright blue eyes and looked up at the underside of the trees surprised by their density despite having just come into the forest not too long ago. Atleast she was dry. She wanted to put her hood up for comfort, but she knew she couldn't. It would just cause her to want to disapear from him and go off somewhere else and she knew she couldn't. There was a reason why she met Miklos and she needed to know that reason.

His expression faded as his slashes dulled. Now he was just cutting to ease the path rather than to kill time. Manual labor can only be so fun. "Aaaah... Fun times, ah?" He sighed. "Well, this is usually how it happens. Just getting from the start to finish, exciting isn't it?" He sheathed his weapon as he pulled out a water skin, ducking and dodging passing branches. He uncorked it and hoisted upward -- taking a long drink. He held it outward towards Anna and shook it a little. "Want a drink?"

Anna walked softly on the earth, stepping over roots, and feeling the damp leaves beneith her mocassins. She watched him drink from his waterskin and clicked her tongue lightly. "No. I am fine for now thank you." There was enough water in the air and she had recently drank plenty of water and ate her fill. It would last her a while, even while trecking through the forest. And she wasn't used to being offered anything.

Anna, even though not hungry, saw a bush of plump ripe berries. The sweet and tangy ones that she always loved. A childish smile came over her face as she darted up to the bush. She pulled her knife from her belt and cut a small branch that held a good many berries. It looked like a small branch of grapes only with different berries. They were a pinky-red color with a soft skin. She inspected them for any insect damage or rotton ones. This bushal was perfect though. All except for an overly ripe one that fell when she pulled one close to it. She popped a berry in her mouth happily and rolled it over her tongue to release the juices. "Mmm..nummy." She held out the bushal towards him, offering him some. "Want any? They're delicious."

He slowed his pace folding his arms and stared at Anna inquisitively and shrugged to himself. Why not? He walked over to the bush, kneeling down and inspecting the fruit himself. "Huh. Quite the eye you have there, being able to spot this in all this brush." He started to gather a handful of berries to himself before pushing the entire palms worth into his mouth. He chewed noisily, cheeks pushed outward from the amount taken.

Nothing beats the feeling of chewing a full mouth. After he swallowed he repeated the process again before wiping the juices off the sides of his lips with his sleeve. He stood back up and stretched, looking down at Anna. "That'll hold off hunger for a moment." He turned and started back up the trail.

Anna shrugged and watched him eat a couple mouthfulls. "Doesn't really take any skill. I told you before, I've been in this forest before. I just know what to look for." She gave a slight smile and continued on down the path that had been started, waiting for him to catch up. "The berries will only give you an hour of energy and will hold off hunger for just over and hour. There's plenty more bushes in these trees. Plus there's roots of very delectable plants that will keep a full stomach for even longer."

She began looking for any odd land marks that she might have past in her tiny explorations to make sure her little nights stay in the trees was protected and safe. As she kept walking, she did find one. A knarly looking tree stump that was trying to grow yet another tree inside the wide ring of rot. This was a good marker. A happy and proud smile spread across her face. "There's a clearing up ahead by a couple miles we can rest at for the remainder of the night. It will give us a better judgement on time rather than just going by hunger." She gave a slight grin and continued eating the berries. With everything quiet and the juicy berries in her hands and mouth, she was in a state of bliss.

"So they do." He nodded as she gave him an explanation about fruit, oddly informed despite her age and appearance. After taking a few steps forward he retreated back to the berry bush and stuffed a couple handfulls into his rucksack. He jogged back up to Anna with a playful smile. "I'd rather not eat roots. Why eat oats when you have bread?" He slowed down to a relaxing pace, eyeing the girl curiously as her head turned left and right for God knows what.

A clearing up ahead, eh? "Well that's convenient!" He chuckled to himself. It's all beginning to piece up together. This ain't no girl in any neck of the woods.

Anna looked back at him and saw a little realization flicker in his dark eyes. Was he finally begining to see that he wasn't dealing with a damsel in distress? She hated being looked down at. Being seen in a position much less than what she really was. Anna knew she was strong and she practically owned the dark. The shadows and the black were her home, her haven, her saftey; and she knew them well. People who say they're afraid of the dark got it all wrong in their minds. It's not the dark they're afraid of, its what is in the dark. And she lives in the dark. She gave a dark chuckle as this passed in her thoughts, then quickly quieted. He would have no doubt heard her.

She looked forward, following unusuall markers on after the other that would lead her to the clearing. She couldn't wait. This clearing was beautiful during the day. But there was always an odd creepy feeling in the dark at night. It was the only thing about the dark that truely scared her. And she needed a good fright. It would remind her of her boundaries so she didn't expose too much of herself to Miklos. "It is convenient." She answered him in a flat voice.
