Deep within the shadowy woods of Elvandir, the Elves stalk their prey, and anyone who enters unwelcome. Elves are a nomadic people, and thus seem uncivilized to outsiders, but anyone who knows them knows they are, in many senses, more civilized then most humans. Physiology Elves are tall, slender, and very agile. A typical elf has pale skin, brown or black hair, and green, brown, or blue eyes. Elves facial features are more angular then humans, and Elves tend to be very beautiful. From childhood to the start of adulthood, Elves age equally as fast as humans, however they live for much longer then most humans, sometimes even up to a thousand years. Psychology Elves, like Dwarves, have a very strong sense of family amongst their entire species. Any normal Elf would very willingly sacrifice themselves for the good of other Elves. An interesting note, is that Elves have less of a tenancy to differ from the society norm then humans do, combined with low populations, means there are very seldom Elves that go against Elven society, and those that have the morals (or lack thereof) to, often see the wisdom in living amongst their kin as if they where normal. Elves are most known for their famous love of nature. The bond to the natural world is so strong, that they do whatever they can to insure the balance of the world around them. Society Elves live in traveling tribes, going about their forests hunting, gathering food and alchemical ingredients, and making clothes and other gear from any animals they kill for food, wasting as little as possible. Elven tribes work to help eachother, and each Elf finds a way to aid the tribe, in any way possible. Once an Elf reaches adulthood, they are given the option to join a tribe (usually the one that raises them), and in a formal ritual, they are tattooed with the marks of their tribe. Elven tribes consist mainly of hunters, a few crafters, and the druids. The bulk of the tribes are hunters, men and women trained in stealth, and archery. They are the backbone of the Elven society, providing food, and materials for the crafters. The crafters, while like all Elves still formidable combatants, focus on creation of the things Elves need. Leatherworkers, woodworkers, alchemists, and cooks. The Druids are the spiritual leaders of the Elves, working their nature-based magic to aid them, and keeping in tune with the natural world, so as to aid the less gifted Elves in their quest for balance. Gear Elves typically wear layers of leather and fur, often dyed green. Their clothes look primitive, but are perfect for stealth in a forest. Most Elves prefer the use of longbows, preffering range and stealth to melee, however, many Elves are also fond of fast, defensive dual blade combat, though metal weapons are rare amongst the Elves. Druids will wear clothes that have similar features of their chosen form, for example, a bear Druid will wear bear fur, and a bear fur cloak. Druids Elven Druids specialize in the Nature school, though they also learn Conjuration, aiding the other Elves in creating simple items that they otherwise cannot acquire, like metals, and to learn to shapeshift. Druids always choose a single form, most commonly Bear, Wolf, Panther, and Raven, however a few exceptions have been known. Druids can communicate with animals of their chosen form, so it isn't uncommon for a Druid to command at least a few of their chosen animal. Despite aligning themselves to a single Tribe, all Druids also have a higher loyalty: Nature. To represent this, all Druids are part of The Druid's Circle, a group that they deem above any Tribe.
