A god is any being of great power that lives in the Divine Realm (or should). Most gods have mortal servants, and it's customary that any servant of an elder god (or at least, the more notable ones, not simple priests) have the prophecy of their god scarred into their left (or right) forearm, so that it can be read whenever. Any mortal with this marking, the "Touch of the Gods", is not subject to aging. Any servant of an Elder God with the Touch of the Gods is bound to their god, and will die if the god dies. Also, the god can send mental messages to their servant. Godtouched mortals gain the passive benefits of a level 4 sorcerer (no need to sleep, eat, use the washroom, etc., however do not have sorcerer powers.) Gods can kill their Godtouched servants whenever, wherever, for whatever reason. Godtouched servants are bound to their god's will, and must do as the god pleases. All gods have at least one shrine on the Mortal Realm, that depicts them, and they can only travel to the mortal realm by materializing themselves at the shrine, and the stone becomes their body (the body isn't a stone body, think of it as the statue disapears and the god is in place of it). Gods cannot spend very long on the mortal realm, and must exit in the place of their statue, or they will die.

Ranks of Gods

Lesser God: The weakest of gods, these are levels 10-19, on average. Lesser gods are forced to stay in the Rift. Lesser Gods have a specific area, rather then an Element, like the Elder Gods. Lesser Gods have a symbol, rather then a prophecy.

Greater Gods: Lesser Gods that have made it to the Divine Realm. They average in 20-29. Greater Gods have a specific area, rather then an Element, like the Elder Gods. Greater Gods have a symbol, rather then a prophecy.

Elder Gods: They rule a specific element, and can control anything of that element with no more then a whim. Elder Gods live in the Divine realm, and are levels 30-39. Greater Gods have a prophecy, and must ensure that the prophecy is not broken, or else they would die with it.

The Five Elder Gods

Fire
Paerai
The god of humans, Paerai is the god of fire, maintaining balance through destruction. Paerai is a male, and is one of the gods more open to having mortal followers.
Prophecy of Fire
Balance through destruction; as a forest fire burns down a grown forest so that more can grow in its place, so will the holy fire burn all that threatens balance: thus it must be.

Air
Eis
The god of elves, Eis embodies many of their more dominant characteristics. Eis is a female, and her role in the balance of the world is a little less straight forward than that of the other gods.
Prophecy of Air
Changing constantly, wild and unpredictable, but always, the elves remain the same: thus it must be.

Water
Sharaes
The god of gnomes, Sharaes brings seeks to be change, similarly to how a river can erode the stone underneath it, Sharaes will slowly change the world. Sharaes is female, and her servants are primarily gnomes.
Prophecy of Water
Slow change; even the sturdy and proud mountains can be brought to its knees by water and time: thus it must be.

Earth
Aes
The god of dwarves, Aes is stubborn and resists any form of change wherever possible. Aes is male, and accepts anyone who would see that things stay the way they are as a follower.
Prophecy of Earth
Great and strong, sturdy and stubborn, the mountain does not submit to change: thus must its inhabitants be. Stand strong against the waters of time, lest the mountain be brought to its knees: thus it must be.

Quintessence
Quintessence, the god of creation. Quintessence is a mystery, and little of what it does seems to make sense to anyone, even the wise gods can fail to see the benefits of Quintessence's actions, but it always does what is best for balance. Quintessence has no actual gender, thus allowing the Divine Realm to be balanced, even with an odd number of gods.

Paladins
Every god can have a Paladin, a mortal servant that is bound to the god, and does their will upon the Mortal Realm. Elemental Paladins work to uphold balance, using the method of their god. Over time, all Paladins become more and more like their god. Elemental Paladins have their god's Prophecy enscribed into their forearm (either left or right, depending on the main hand of the Paladin), by the element EG, Paladin of Fire has burn scars of the Prophecy, etc. All Paladins are immortal, and live as long as their god does, however the god can kill them at any moment. If you want to be an Elemental Paladin, you need to talk to the admins, if any other gods want a Paladin, they must seek out another player to do their bidding. Non-Elemental Gods aren't bound to the cause of balance.
