Click Rule!; Is back in action!

Exactly what the topic says! You WILL be required to click at LEAST 100 eggs and/or hatchlings a week. For most of you, you already do that, so you have no worries. For others, you're lucky to even click 1 per MONTH. That is the reason for the change. We are a click EXCHANGE not a dragon sitter!

IF you are going to be away and still have eggs and/or hatchlings in the hatchery, please, PM me to let me know.

*First action: You will be PM'd about not clicking, and warned to start doing so.

*Second action: You will be PM'd again, and if within 24 hours you don't reply with a good excuse, your eggs and/or hatchlings will be removed from the hatchery.

*Third action: You will be banned from the site for 1 week, any further actions are left to my discretion, but will most likely result in perma-ban.

*May be changed as to the situation.
Please, read the Board Rules, ICU Rules, Chat Rules, & the FAQ before you do anything.

Quick question: Do the clicks in the ICU get counted? I havent noticed mine gettin counted on the tally in the hatchery. I'd like to know since sometimes my computer doesnt load the hatchery because its too big, and I click alot more eggs in there. At least I think I do.

Just curious - does this apply if we don't have any in the hatchery at all?

Some what seems harsh to ban people if they dont click. (If you have to click even if you dont have eggs) But i some what understand it as well. It shouldnt be to hard for me to do at least 100 a week.
But you should also think about the people that might be doing it quite a bit (more then 100 clicks a week) and something comes up (Like their net getting shut off or something) to not be to harsh on those people.
Just a thought.

I like that this rule is flexible depending on the situation. (ex. your computer's hard drive fries and you can't get a hold of another compy for a week) and that we can find the lazy people that don't do anything. I click the hatchery at least 2 times a week, so unless my compy gets abducted or something I should be okay :) And kudos to the rule Wee.zee, I like it. ^_^ Since I have the multiple link clicker, even if I'm extremely short on time for some reason, I can just click all the black draggies at once and get well over 100 for the week.

I'm also curious about clicks in the ICU. I spend a lot of time clicking over there and I don't believe they are registered. Also I've had my click "count" in the automated hatchery reset at least twice now. How will clicks be tracked, and is there some "official" way for us to know exactly how many clicks we have each week so we can make sure we don't violate the rule?

All clicks for you are shown at the top of the Hatchery and no, the ICU clicks don't count towards your click count...yet.

Also, the weekly click counts haven't reset yet. *Tries to be less impatient*

Xinkc -
Yes, I understand that it lists the number of clicks at the top of the automated hatchery. My concern is that every few days my clicks "reset" or disappear and I was interested in how they would be officially tracked for this new rule. I don't want to get in trouble for not clicking when I actually am, and my clicks just reset.

I have a question: Are you required to click 100x's per week, even if you do not have eggs or hatchlings in the hatchery?

For those asking about if they don't have any in the hatchery. No you don't have to click. That would be unfair. This rule is to get those that drop their eggs in and never come back to click ANY. Like someone said, this rule will bend as I see fit. So those that normally click I will notice, and take note of. If for some reason one week they don't get that 100, I'll PM them see what's up.

As for the ICU, no those don't register. They won't for this rule. If we counted them for this rule someone could only click the ICU and not help the others to not get put in the ICU.

As for clicks resetting, they reset when the hatchery goes down, so yes, they should have reset twice so far. There's nothing we can do about that part. We had to move the hatchery both times so we couldn't save those that were there. If you find it continues to reset please PM Christian, and he may be able to fix something up for you.

Again, like I said in the first post, if you're going away or your PC is fried or something to the such, please PM me (if at all possible.. I've had 2 PM already). I will try to be as flexible as possible. I don't want this rule to cause people not to return. We all love saving eggs and hatchlings, but I don't want to keep having freeloaders that never click any, yet get our service in return for nothing.
Please, read the Board Rules, ICU Rules, Chat Rules, & the FAQ before you do anything.

Do they only count if you click the ones in the hatchery? Also, why do some links in the hatchery say ìnternal error" when I click them sometimes? Does the click counter reset after a week, so then you know how many clicks you have the next week, and the week after that?

Well that's a bummer, I guess I'll just pack my stuff and head on out, then. I always view the hatchery, but I never click. Clicks are superfluous, I've had dragons grow up with no clicks at all, as have many others, and it's rather annoying to have a "click quota" just to maintain membership to a forum.

Oh well, if my views aren't wanted, I guess I'll take 'em elsewhere.

Yes, they only count if you click in the hatchery.

I'm not sure, that's something you'll have to ask Christian.

As far as I know, no. That's something Christian will have to do, and to be sure I would write down what I have just so I know for the weeks ahead.

I don't know, I don't think so, haven't talked to Christian about it. It may just be a hassle, so like I said above, just write down what you have. Then you won't worry. ^_^

Clicks are not superfluous, they DO help. *shrugs* I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's how it is. It's not like 100 is really that many.

My computer doesn't like to load the hatchery, it's so big that it overloads it or something, I have to restart the whole computer sometimes if I can't exit the page fast enough. I'm fine with the 100 clicks rule, but it would be a whole lot easier if you could maybe split the hatchery into like 100 or so dragons per page or something so you can view them in segments instead of all at once.

I have the same problem- I'm on dial-up and it takes a good ten mintues to load the page. If it were divided by species, it would be easier. However, I talked to bluedove about this before the new hatchery came about, and I was told to just view the page then, and that dividing the dragons up wouldn't happen. So is there a possibility of making this easier on those of us not blessed with cable or faster computers?

Does the 100 click count start every Monday or Sunday? Are they checked every Monday/Sunday?

I have a suggestion for Christian, dunno if it's possible or not, but if it is, it MIGHT help the people who have problems loading the hatchery make their quotas.

I've noticed when I refresh the hatchery to see my clicks, that different colors of eggs/hatchlings shuffle to the top, so this might work, dunno. But could you make a link called say "Quick Click" that picks only one particular colored group (would be random what color each time) and loads only that one color? Then the person could click on all the entries but it would only be one color at a time.

Is what I'm suggesting making sense? Do people understand what I am saying? Is it possible to do something like that for people with loading problems for the whole hatchery? Would it work?

I understand about the reason you're making people click to stay on this forum. I made 100 clicks today, but it's too demanding of my routine to spend half an hour every week loading up 100 clicks.(I'm not exaggerating, it does take that long with my computer.) I'm not commited enough to the Dragon Cave to do this. I'll leave the hatchery next week, but I want to make use of the 100 clicks I made today.

Nother question from me. Since there are some of us (like me) that work mostly all week, what should we do if we don't get the correct number of clicks in?

The hatchery freezes up on me when I get into a serious clicking spree, but I'll do my best.

Now, my only question is, what of the eggs in the ICU? Do they increase the click amount if you're not clicking them from the hatchery?

I don't mind the rule. It's true it's tiring waiting for all the images to fill up, but what I do is just randomly click all over the screen, without even seeing if I hit anything. The outcome is about twelve to twenty new window tabs to the eggs/hatchlings' page. And all my clicks get added up, so I'm happy.

And yes, clicks do count. Otherwise, what would have been the point to implement it on the gaming system, no? It's true TJ (in the Dragon Cave Forum) stated that eggs don't exactly require them to hatch, but I've seen far too many dead eggs that have 0 or just 1 clicks to feel safe for my own clickless eggs. They hatch faster and grow faster, from my observation, if there are more clicks, too.

Also, a hundred clicks a week is nothing. I finished my quota the same day I joined here and just add at least 20 a day later. Perfectly easy and hardly time consuming. My 2 cents. :P Great work on this hatchery, by the by. <3

Maybe this is just me, but maybe the rule should be changed to match up with the number of eggs a person has. For example, I have one egg on the hatchery -- personally I don't feel like I should have to click 100 eggs for my one. I believe this, for every one egg someone has, they have to click X number of eggs.
for example:
1 egg = 20 clicks.
2 eggs = 40
3 eggs = 60
4 eggs = 80
5 eggs = 100

edit: if this was suggested, sorry. x3
