Trade Square is the southernmost quarter of Tirisaa. The sound of the midday bell is barely audible over the hustle and bustle of activity within the square. A trove of workshops, warehouses and stores selling trade supplies, magical reagents and equipment as well as auction houses and banks line the perimeter of the vest courtyard. At the center of the courtyard stands a grand obelisk extends high into the cloudless sky. Upon greater inspection, the obelisk is made of marble, and runic inscriptions are painted in gold upon it. The cobbled courtyard is the site of many of Tirisaa’s festivals and it’s famous weekend bazaar. Merchants travel from far and wide to sell and trade their wares within the limits of the square. After a long day of trading and negotiating, many merchants spend the night at the The Crimson Queen before waking at dawn and traveling back to their homes. The Tirisaan National Bank and Auction House are run by the goblins. The National Bank is a grand marbled building. Traditional rope pathways guide customers to the tellers at the far end of the building. The vaults are found in a cavernous hall underneath the bank and much of the square outside. The Auction House is a tad cruder. It consists mainly of a large hall with the auctioneers standing on wooden crates along the perimeter of the room. The yells of the auctioneers are barely audible over the sounds of the large crowd that gathers there. Typical establishments include stores specializing in the making of quality weapons including daggers, swords, maces and staves, light-weight armor, clothing and powerful rings, trinkets, figurines, necklaces and gems. With Edean nearby, Tirisaa has a great market for essential components and many shops specialize in magical reagents for spellcraft, wands and runestones. Shops selling supplies for the blacksmithing, tailoring, inscription, alchemy, enchanting and jewelcrafting trades are also common. The square is also home to bookstores with vast collections of both magical and historical manuscripts, texts, tomes and scrolls for sale, menageries that sell exotic and traditional pets and general shops that sells a variety of food and everyday amenities including food and drink, wood, traveling bags, simple tools and very basic trade supplies. |
