Where her handmaidens came up with these ideas of putting outfits together Illesa would never guess, she'd not been so creative when she'd been a handmaiden for her friend and former Queen. They'd been given hand drawn images to show them what they had to make the Queen look like from the designers of the robes, but her handmaidens took the robes and made their own decisions when it came to how her hair would be done and what kind of accessories would be added. She considered this carefully as the metal choker was clipped up at the back of her neck. It was a decorative item that her handmaidens chose to go with the hairstyle they'd created. A hairstyle that require the Senator to think carefully about her head movements and be deliberate about them.

Illesa eyed her reflection for a moment as her handmaiden stepped back, giving her space to view the masterpiece completed. "This is different," She commented, raising a hand to lightly touch her hair, not wanting to disrupt the style but also not all that fond of it. This is another reason she'd liked being a handmaiden instead of Queen back in the day, she didn't have to wear the ridiculous heavy gowns and sophisticated hair styles. Now it had come to hit her full blast in the face, she was stuck with it.
"Yes, m'lady." Porsha responded with a small, knowing smile. She opened her mouth to say something else but Two-Skip hurried in and she shut her mouth and moved away, head bowed so that the hood was hiding her again. Her security chief was a big fan of hoods for the handmaidens, to hide their features which were striking to the Senator's. Should anything happen to her they were to act as decoys, a job very familiar to Illesa.
Two-Skip stopped a few steps away from the Senator and did a mechanical attempt at a bow before speaking. "Senator the meeting will be starting shortly, you requested I alert you ahead of time so you could arrive beforehand." The droid told her in its typical, matter-of-factly way before seeming to hesitate briefly before continuing in a more curious way. "It is strange that an emergency meeting as been called with no detail as to the reasoning behind its being called." Two-Skip could be a little too curious for its own good, and a little too conversational, which was why sometimes even Illesa had to hide things from it.
"Everything will be made clear when the Chancellor deems it, Two-Skip. We cannot pretend to know his ways." She told the droid calmly before walking past him and through her senatorial quarters, her two handmaidens close behind her. As she stepped out into the hall her security chief joined her escorts and she headed towards the center of the building, and the entrance of her Senatorial pod. A private message from the Chancellor going through her head. He had told her she would no longer have to worry about being an ambassador for the Republic into Imperial space, a private insight for her to know what was coming before any other Senator.
The question on her mind was who exactly was coming to the Senate chambers in representation of the Empire. While the Senator of Naboo knew more about this meeting than any other Senator, she still didn't have all the answers and would receive them at the same time as all other Senators, when the Chancellor wished it in the Senate meeting. This was going to be a long day, and undoubtedly a very actively debating one. She wondered what the reactions of other Senators would be, what their views were on making peace or war, and how this day would end.

A gust of wind, artificial, possibly from the movement of speeders in the air, it was only light as it his Amanda. Her long brown cloak was caught with it, swirling freely around her legs. The Jedi Knight was staring, fixated on a building in the distance. A building where the Senate would now begin to gather. While she stood here, exposed on the metal floating slab that was the landing pad. It was empty save for her, she had been dropped off and left there to stand. In the distant traffic she could see a diplomatic speeder slowly getting through, it would dock with the landing pad and wait for the arrival.
Amanda glanced skyward, almost willing herself to see something. She hadn't at first understood why she was tasked to be added security, she was a Healer not a Guardian, but then she became more aware. A pacifist and general kind hearted soul, she was not likely to strike a conflict with the man who was to be the Republic's guest, or his personal guards. She was there as an act of good will on behalf of the Jedi Order, to show that they were willing to put their own as guards for the man even if the Jedi were not fond of the idea. So she was here on this landing pad alone, while others chosen by the Grandmaster gathered in a pod in the Senate chamber, elected spokesmen of the Order.
She felt like she was somehow on the wrong side of a dangerous arrangement. But she would do as she was instructed and keep the Emperor safe. Not even the Senators knew why they were gathering, which meant the likelihood of assassination attempts were minimal. The Chancellor knew and the Jedi Masters as well as a few hand chosen Knights knew. That was a small group, and none of those in it would consider even attempting to kill the Emperor. To do so would declare even louder that the Empire and Republic were at war. The Republic was at the moment working on denying the Empire's existence still, some didn't see it as a threat yet.
With a sigh Amanda turned on her heel and closed her eyes, reaching out with the Force, trying to ascertain if there was any danger in the near future. She also wanted to try and figure out how this meeting with the Senate would go, what would be the verdict? Why was the Emperor even coming here? What were his goals? How would the Masters react? Nothing was clear, it was all a haze. Foresight was not her gift, and she rarely wanted it, but sometimes she did have a wish for it. Still foresight was based on actions, every action has a consequence and it could be never ending. She would simply have to wait and observe what was to happen from her vantage point, by the Emperor.

The winds bellowed as speeders went about their ways on the large Core of the Galactic Republic. Like electrical signals on a circuitboard, they all seemed to go their towards their predestined paths as the ordered chaos was something familiar to city on such worlds yet one decided to deviate slightly from this preset path. Seated in a lone two-seated speeder with a republic soldier for a driver, Drey'con Shadow of the jedi order merely seemed to enjoy the ride as the wind blew at his tendrils. A farcry from the normal, more refined jedi, this knight chose the scenic route towards the main senate hall for it offered him a greater means of getting to know the very people he was meant to protect.
"So like I was sayin' master jedi, best place to have fun is at the Teruvia Bar...woo wii the twi'leks they have there will make your tendrils stand on end." The human male said as he served around other speeders. Of course this was not typical behavior for a jedi to engage in but then again, Drey'con and this man named Marcus were long-time friends, having served together in their fair share of missions together.
"Come now Switch, even if I wanted to, you know I can't engage in such things but of course, you shouldn't let that stop you and the boys from getting a drink together. Drey'con said with a laugh as the speeder drew closer to the building. The conversation went on like this, seemingly meaningless in its topics as old friends caught up on such affairs. Drey'con of course could have flown himself for this mission of security detail not only for a high-profile guest of the Senate but also to ensure that order reigned on this pretty important meeting. Then again though, he rarely got to move about with old friends so it offered up an opportunity.
Drey'Con of course suspected perhaps that this was a means to bring an end to this constant war and though he did not much care for the imperial ways of the Empire, the young nautolan did not have much qualms with the individuals within the governing body. They seemed to wish more or less for the same things just went about them differently and if this meeting was a means to see peace between both groups, all the greater. It would of course mean more emphasis could be put on finding the true enemy of peace to the galaxy, for Drey'Con knew all too well that the Sith were to never be counted out; they were out there, somewhere and he would help put an end to the darkness they brought.
Soon, his speeder came close to the landing pad of the building where the senate would gather. Drey'con merely said his good-byes as he did not wait for his friend to find parking. Instead, Drey'con lept from the vehicle and landed in a crouch near one whom seemed familiar to him; Amanda Tresky it seems was assigned to this as well. Now the jump was no easy feat as it was a good ten foot distance with a twenty foot drop but then, Drey'Con had his ally the force with him and even the strong gusts of wind could not combat that.
"Hello there, seems you might have been roped into this as well?" Drey'Con said with a smile on his face. Of course, this was to be a serious mission and Drey knew this well for soon the Senators would gather and the jedi would have to enter the establishment with the high-profile guest; one whom Drey wondered who it could be. Of course, his assignment was to be the jedi guardian to one of the key Senators for this supposed bill; the Senator of Naboo would probably be targetted among others after all. Thus, Drey merely waved to the young knight without letting her answer and proceeded into the building as he sought to perhaps arrive earlier than the senator. Of course this was not to be it would seem as she was already at her pod waiting for the others to arrive. Straightening up, Drey'con wiped the smile from his face as he stood at the door leading to the Nubian pod, bowing in respect to her.
"Greetings Senator Artheo, I have been assigned as a guard to you? Drey'con told her in a more serious tone than he had during their first meeting on Naboo. This was a mission and the nautolan knew well how to seperate that from leisure time.

In his office, Ari punched into the air fighting an imaginary opponent one would say. He was dressed in bare minimum clothing, only wearing his slacks at the moment as he stepped back and then launched his whole body weight into a kick that had it hit a man in the chest would have sent him back. He was doing less fighting now than he used to do before he became a Senator but it never hurt to keep the moves from rusting out. He heard one of his aides knock on his door and he gave the command to open the door.
"Senator Antrus, shouldn't you be getting ready to go to the meeting?"
Ari shrugged and responded to the aide, "Why? So I can hear from all of my respected compatriots that we need to be sensitive to the Empire or such nonsense? I don't know why I even attend these things." He complained as he walked over to the refresher to put his clothes on and clean himself quick.
"I'm sure the Chancellor has a reason for calling this meeting." The aide said with a shrug.
"The wind bag probably wants to hear himself speak," The Senator said as he stepped out of the refresher and put a blue suit jacket on over the yellow button up shirt he was wearing. "Has he sent a program over, so I can tell when he's going to be done speaking?"
"He has not, he said the meeting held top secret content." The old aide said, and then looked at Ari with a frown. "Shouldn't you at least wear a tie with that thing?
"No, your protest tells me it's perfect. See ya, Norman." The Senator said as he walked to the door and left the room. Some time later he found himself in his booth, gazing down at the Chancellor's podium. "What is this about." He said, suddenly thoughtful, rubbing his chin.

Illesa eyed the central screen on her pod. She doubted there was going to be anything useful there but she activated it and opened the file for the meeting, hoping for a little more illumination to what exactly was going to take place. Strangely, for the first time since being elected a Senator and taking a seat in this very pod, there was no details at all available, no data. She frowned and eyed the central podium where the Chancellor would appear at any moment. Why was he not telling her more? Why was he not telling anyone anything more?
She began tapping her finger on the screen absently before a voice drew her attention to the entrance of the pod behind her. Her eyes swept easily over her handmaidens and security to find a humanoid male with green shiny skin and long tendrils now a guest amongst her party. She raised an eyebrow slightly, at first bewildered as to why there was cause for the Jedi Knight to be assigned to her. Of course the answer was pretty evident. The Chancellor would know her desires to speak to any Imperial representative alone if she got the chance and he would have assigned the guard of a Jedi as a precaution.
Part of her was pleased to be known so well while another screamed in protest. There really was no need for a Jedi to be assigned to her as a guard, she was more than capable of handling herself. Still she held all of that within, keeping her expression gentle and politely friendly. After all this particular Knight she at least knew and could respect easier than most. "And my greetings to you Jedi Shadow," Illesa smiled politely and nodded her head slightly forward, though not too much because of the weight and need to keep herself steady. "It's nice to see a familiar face,"

"Quite true M'lady...for now though, merely think of me as a fly on the wall as I shall not interfere in your works." Drey'con said as he entered the pod to stand behind the young senator. There he would remain unless Illesa needed him which would be if a security threat arises. In the mean time, he would merely concentrate on the force as a means to "sense" those around the area in the senate hall.
Drey of course could feel the presence of Amanda out on the platform as well as the rather impatient senator of Corellia but wondered where the others were. His curiosity of course was kept to himself as he would not disturb his charge. Instead, Drey cleared his mind for things to come as this deliberation would hopefully bring about peace in the galaxy once more.
ooc: Sorry for the short post, just setting up Drey'con as a guard.

The beautifully decorated hall of Senators, known as the true center of the Republic, it was a place where the fate of trillions were decided by the few; where declarations of war were made and treaties of peace were forged. As such, this day held no difference from the others as the Republic now sought to rectify a problem in the galaxy that the previous regime seemed hell-bent on allowing to pass; a constant war with the imperial regime along the mid to outer rim. Chancellor Veroc Dubin however was not the same man as his predecessor and as such sought perhaps a quicker end to the bloodshed; a way to bring about a conclusion to a simple dispute over people wishing to have the right to govern themselves.
Seated at his own hovering podium, Veroc merely listened as the large antechamber began to fill with senators and their escorts alike. Soon the pods began to fill yet the first to speak was not a surprise; those Corellians after all always were the impatient sort. Veroc merely looked to the Senator of Naboo to see the jedi escort with her before turning his attention to Antrus.
"Order...Order!" Veroc said in a firm tone as his booming voice silenced the breath-taking room.
"I would like to welcome you all to this meeting yet before we begin, there is still one other that must make his presence known...the reason for us holding this gathering as we await his arrival." Veroc said in a calm tone as his incentive could no doubt be known to Antrus; be patient and all would be revealed soon. For now though, Veroc awaited the arrival of the Emperor before all could begin again.

Gannon stepped through the doors into the massive theater of the Republic senate. though his stature and presence were great, he had never before been granted access to the building. it was a massive spectral of repulsor platforms in rings stacked from floor to ceiling. pose and proper Gannon walked down the path with an air of nobility about him. Superceeding him were two of his Ravens, unarmed and in Military dress. following him were a group of former Senators who had for one reason or another defected to the Empire. Gannon was directed to a larger platform where the party could stand together. Reaching his position Gannon nodded in respect to the speaker signaling that he was ready for the proceedings to begin.
Standing at either side of him were the two ravens. one leaned over to him and whispered. My Emperor, pardon my nature but this feels quite like the worst of a bad situation. Gannon raised his hand softly gesturing her to be silent. have faith, they know the stakes are staked against them should they make an ill advised action. he said quietly keeping his attention on the Speaker.

There was a time when the Atrium of the Senate housed over a thousands seals of different planets from around the galaxy. But in the past hundred years many had been removed, and the number of planetary governments represented went from thousands to hundreds. The halls were still painted with lavender and the atrium was still decorated with monuments of long dead heroes. Those who died for the Republic since the Unification Wars to the Mandalorian Wars, to the struggle against the Empire. Which is what brought him here in the first place.
He had no love for the Empire. He had fought in the shock war as a Commodore, Rear Admiral, and Admiral, promoted twice for his success. Of course the Empire had no love for him, and why should they? No less than five years ago he had led the first preemptive strikes on Imperial Planets. He wondered if the Empire still considered him a war criminal.
Sitting with other of the senior staff offices in the military, as well as many civilian military advisors. Admiral Lasticon watched as the Senators took their seats in their respective pods. The Jedi seemed to be present as well, and finally the Emperor himself moved out into the Rotunda with former members of the Senate. The Admiral sighed at the sight of Gannon and knew formal precedings would now begin. "May the force help us all."

For a moment she gritted her teeth after her comm sounded and alerted her of what she was to do from now. Amanda had never been much of a protector, she was a Healer by nature so protecting really wasn't her style. Still, she was a pacifist by that nature and it made her the most likely to not get into a fight over something that may be said or happen. She blew a breath out of her clenched teeth for a moment before shaking her head and pulling in on the Force in a calming way, focusing on her center and the feel of everything around her.
Then with a nod to herself she turned on her heel and headed for the platform that was now occupied by the Emperor and his accompanying guards and guests. Her blue eyes flickered over the guards carefully, barely glancing at the former Senators, as she walked forward. Finally she paused a few feet away, though still on the platform and bowed politely to the Emperor. "Emperor Raife, I am Knight Tresky, on behalf of the Jedi Order I extend a greeting and offer my services to your party for your stay on Coruscant." She spoke in a quiet manner, though her words were steady and at ease.
There were two equally powerful meanings to her words, though whether or not he noticed them she wouldn't be sure. The easiest would be the peaceful reach out the Jedi had gone to by sending a Knight, that they were extending a peaceful gesture. But another would be her addition to the party for their stay on Coruscant which would allow the Jedi an insight into anything he was up to. It was also non-negotiable from her instructions. For one it could be looked at as rude and a sign of mistrust if he refused her and another was that she was tasked to keep an eye out, whether to protect him or to observe him.
