Fi watched the two from the cover of a bolder. He waited till Estarra was clear of the direct fire before he called to zero. “Move it Zeronen, She’s clear.” He said. Zero kept firing for a moment, downing two more criminals before he pushed himself up as Fi threw two thermal detonators into the path of a group trying to rush the Mandos’ team leader. Some dived to the dirt, others trying to turn tail and run, all were in the effective radius of the explosion. With more dust and smoke blocking the view, Zero jumped to his feet and ran full speed for the bolder to get his shebs back into some hard cover.

Three meter wasn’t far by most standards, but with an injured shoulder and blaster bolts flying, it may as well have been a mile away. Lugging a rifle this was intense and slightly painful now. “Frak” He muttered as crouched behind the bolder next to Estarra. He needed to patch himself up now.

Setting his Rifle down between them, he reached up and started to detach small O2 lines from his helmet before he slowly pulled it off. “That’s better.” Zero said as he set the helmet down and reached behind him along his belt with his good arm, and pulled out his small med-kit. He didn’t waist much time in grabbing a hypo-needle and loading up a injection of Becta before he pulled the caller of his armors underlay down and way from his neck. Pressing the hypo-injector to his neck was the easy part in his mind, it was the self injection was the hard part, but Mandos did what they needed to do to stay in the fight so he thumbed the small button and injected himself, the thing was minor, but it still made even hard asses like Zero flitch everytime. With that mess done, he dropped the hypo back in the kit and closed it up.

Looking over at his new acquaintance, he gave a bit of cocky grin as he picked up his helmet “Got to love it when the tangos het a lucky shot in, huh?” clearly he didn’t blame her for anything yet. “Name’s Zeronen Darkmune of Clan Darkmune.” He said brushing a bit of dust from the rim of his helmet before he slipped it back on.

Runi stood in one of the forward windows of the fortress and watched the battle. Turning up the magnification he watched as man by man the thugs fell. It was really a bad showing. Even if they were going up against mando'verda. And they were definitely mandalorian warriors. Even if their distinctive armor hadn't given them away, their tactics and aggressiveness would. The rushes against heavily fortified defenses, something only a mandalorian in beskar'gam would risk. The unerring accuracy was another sign. Only troops who began training as soon as they could hold a weapon shot like that. This was going to be an issue.

Runi had taken the job as bodyguard for the filthy Rodian crime boss as a way to stay out of site for a while. He needed the credits and Tattooine was the last spot he had expected trouble. Especially when he found out the mans headquarters was in the middle of the desert. And yet here he was with yet again trouble brewing. Maybe what his friend Zero had always said was true, problems did seem to follow him like a cloud. But if it was a fight they wanted it was a fight he'd give them. Shaking his armored head he turned up the magnification as yet more men went down. "One, two..... eight total." More than enough to slaughter the defenders outside. He didn't have much time. So by the time the heavies began firing rockets, he was already on the move.

His comlink chirped once to put him in contact with the head of security, a huge trandoshan nicknamed Cracker. Runi spoke quickly as he stalked down the halls, his jacket billowing out behind him. "Cracker listen carefully. You have forty men still active inside. Keep them here, if you send them out I swear on your scaly Scorekeeper that they'll all die, And for nothing." The trandoshan opened his maw to reply but Runi cut him off. He wasn't in the mood for stupidity right now. "Have half your men get to the armory. Grab all the heavy weapons you can and post the at the main entrance. Once the attackers come through the main gate they'll probably try the front door first. With explosives. Make sure they know to stay far enough back so that SOME of them survive at least, and as soon as the door comes down they shoot anything that moves in front of them." Beskar made strong armor but concentrated heavy weapons fire only the thickest suits could stand.

He turn and went up a spiral staircase making his way higher into the complex. "Lastly split the rest of your men up at these points in teams of four." He indicated five choke points spread across the base. He already knew that all of these were only delaying actions. The mandalorians would find a way in. And when they did they would probably kill everybody, well not him of course but everybody else. Runi's job was to worry about only one. "And have them rib demo charges in the excess hallways en route. Funnel the mandos into their ambushes."
"How do you know what they think."
Runi clicked his tongue in annoyance. This is why he hadn't wanted the stupid lizard to talk. "Have you not seen the armor idiot. I'm a mandalorian."

Reaching his destination he paused for a second outside the door and raised his hand palm out. Closing his eyes he took a few calming breaths. He hated doing this, hated calling on the damned Force. But it had saved him on more than one occasion, and he had to acknowledge its usefulness in his line of work. And his mind expanded. He could sense the rodian in the other room. The fat thing was pacing back and forth like a trapped nerf, scared out of his mind and trying not to panic. Runi just wanted to make sure he was alone and the mando's hadn't beat him up here by some weird twist of fate. He pushed open the door with a little more force than necessary and was rewarded with a blaster bolt zinging past his head and into the hallway. He didn't even flinch. Squibs as he was known was holding the weapon in a shaky grip.
"Skirata!" it shouted in its own strange language. Thank the Force for translation units. "Where have you been?"
"Trying to keep you alive... and now i would suggest you take me to the hangar i know you have hidden here. Cause i probably only bought you an extra 15 minutes."

She wasn't alone behind the boulder for long but she wasn't paying much attention to the Mandalorian anymore, he wasn't a threat to her so she was more concerned about figuring out the basics of what was happening, apart from extermination. For a moment she was just thinking about it all when his movements drew her attention and she saw him take off his helmet. Honestly it could almost be a surprise to find a man under it, and a human man at that. She couldn't help but watch curiously as he treated himself, she'd never really spent time around Mandos, best to avoid them she thought, but now she was getting to see one in a better light than terrifying stories.

The cocky grin made her smile and roll her eyes a little at his words. Hard to think of him as a Mando without that helmet. At least he wasn't holding it against her, the shots were her fault and she knew it. "Well I don't have such a fancy title," She commented after his introduction, and his helmet returned over his face. Technically she'd had a title that could be considered fancy, once upon a time, but it wasn't something she wanted publicized. "But my name's Estarra Savo, just call me Star."

She looked away from him then, trying to keep his face in her mind and not the helmet so much. Instead she peeked out from behind the boulder, getting a glimpse of the facility that the criminals were trying to keep and the Mandos were moving in on. For a moment she just looked before reaching out, curious and also looking for a distraction. At that moment she got a response, someone else, untrained but still aware, using their own senses. She pulled back instantly, concealing her presence defensively. A natural reaction, she was always timid about being discovered.

Gritting her teeth for a moment she sighed in frustration before pulling back behind the boulder and looking directly at her new Mandalorian acquaintance. "I don't think this will be as simple as it appears," She searched her mind, carefully choosing her words, not trying to give away anything about herself but also wanting to be helpful to her latest protector. Hopefully this one wouldn't turn on her. "Something doesn't fit in this picture, you Mandos might be tough but you should be really weary."

Zero’s ‘title’ wasn’t fancy, it was standard mandalorian introduction. At least it was on Mando’yaim anyways. “Star huh, I like it, short and simple. Call me Zero for short” he said, lots of folks have a hard time pining the accent down when pronouncing his full given name. Zero picked up his rifle and set it in his off hand, it’d take a little while before the pain was gone from his shoulder. Zeronen took a peek around the bolder as well, but instead of ducking back again, he took a few shoots at a nearby criminal that gave him a clear line of fire. He didn’t see any other clear targets, so he ducked back. “Nothing is ever simple on this world, Star, Combat here makes things even harder, but sadly this wasn’t my choice, the slimy Huttse I’m working for right now sent us off with little to no plan of attack.” He explained.

“Hang on a sec, switching lines.”
He added, before he killed the speaker. “Fordo, I saw a fuel storage tank, hit it was a rocket, that should clear up this mess of a firefight.” Zero ordered. “I see it, consider it done, Alorir.” Fordo replied. Zero figured he had only at least 30 seconds before Fordo was set up, so he switched his lines back to speak with Estarra. “You may want to cover your ears, Star. What’s going to happen next is going to be Big!” he said, emphasizing the word big. With his warning out, zero leaned over the edge of the boulder a bit to watch. The tank was moderate in size, likely 35 feet long on his side with a radius of roughly 10 feet. Still if that was mostly full, the resulting wave would be fatal to those around it.

“Rocket’s armed, ready to fire, and released, hit the dirt, Zero.” Fordo said, chiming in. Zeronen held up his hand for Star to see, counting down from five. “Five… Four… Three… Two…“ The next thing anyone would likely hear was the nearly defining sound of a large explosion.

The entire building shook like it was in an earthquake and caught everyone inside unaware. Runi though a combination of luck and skill managed to stay on his feet. His employer was so lucky he tripped and fell and the bag he had been stuffing with items he thought were 'essential' dropped from his hand. When it hit the ground a box rolled out and the lid came open, but just as Runi tried to get a look at what was peeking out the Rodian snatched it up off the floor and began stuffing things back in his bag.
"Why are you staring at me when there are things exploding outside?!" Squibs screamed at him. All Runi could do was sigh. It was probably the fuel container that i warned you would be a hazard if you put it there. He kept his thoughts to himself as he activated his comlink again.

"Cracker?" Interference from the explosion or possibly some damage to the communications room/armory itself had the line filled with static, but after a moment the trandoshans voice ame through clearly.
"Yes Skirata..."
"What was that?"
"They blew up the fuel tank..."
Figures Runi thought sarcastically. "And?" he asked hearing the hesitation in the beings voice.
"And everyone outside is dead. The front blast doors took the brunt of the attack but they are weak and will not be able to hold back the intruders. The men are not all yet in position."
"Well just tell them to speed it up. And you better grab a weapon and get down there too."
Silence greeted his last comment for a moment before he heard "Yes Skirata, i think i will."

Runi closed the comlink and stepped into the room to grab the rodian by his arm. "Sorry sir but its time to go." When he turned back to the door he was surprised by what he saw. A man dressed in servants clothes was standing there. He held a blaster in a loose grip at his side and had a bag over one shoulder. He had apparently come up here with the intent to rob his master, possibly kill him too if he was a slave. Suddenly the Force had him in its grip and a vision assaulted him.

The man raised the gun. Runi didn't hesitate, as much as he hated slavery he had given word to keep his employer alive no matter what happened. So he reacted. A quick step forward and he slapped the pistol up and out of line with his chest with his right hand. His left flexed into a fist an he bent his wrist ejecting the vibro blade stored there. It locked into place and with one uppercut was buried in the mans armpit another jab to sever the rest of the arteries there and he pull back ejecting the right one as he brought his right had back in a hook that sent the right blade into the man's neck. It sheared the spine and the man went limp instantly falling to the floor.

And he was back in his own body. It seemed like to time had passed for him as the man stood there mouth agape. And suddenly everyone exploded into motion. It happened just like in Runi's vision. The weapon came up, Runi deflected it and stabbed exactly the way he had seen. Unlike in the movies though there were very few things that could kill a man instantly. He would bleed out since Runi had severed the brachial artery. And he wouldn't feel to much pain because of the cut spine. But he was alive to see Runi help Squibs who had dove to the floor back to his feet. If his helmet had been off he would have seen the look of sadness on Runi's face. "Let's get you out of here. The elevator conveniently doesn't come this high so we have to go down to floors to get there and we dont have much time."

Estarra crinkled her nose in distaste at the mention of Hutts. She hated the slimy, filthy creatures, and she couldn't imagine ever accepting a job from one. No matter how good the pay was she'd stay far away, particularly since she didn't want a chain around her neck, something that she was aware could happen if she let her guard down around one. Best for her to steer clear of that kind of trouble and just make a living off the more humanoid types of criminals, and even honest working citizens in need of a mechanic.

She waited as he switched lines to speak to someone else on his team, allowing her a moment to gather her own thoughts on what was possibly going to happen. Apparently she'd find out sooner rather than later as Zero returned to talking to her and warning her about covering her ears for something big. Her eyes widened and she almost saw flames when her eyes blinked shut for a moment, but whether she was just projecting her own thoughts or if she was getting a quick Force gifted vision was harder to tell. She didn't like the idea of future seeing anyway, it just complicated matters.

Carefully she kept her blue eyes trained on the mandalorian as he began counting down from five with his hand. The second only one was remaining she slapped her hands to her ears and crouched a bit lower behind the boulder, making sure she got it's full protection. Heat, wind from the burst, it was all sudden and the sound was deafening if she hadn't had the break of the boulder and her hands clapped around her ears. She slid down to sit on the ground and rubbed her ears a little as the sound seemed to have made them start to ring regardless of her hands.

"Ya know if ya get anymore bright ideas about explosions like that, warn me way in advance so I can purchase some ear muffs." Estarra commented as she lowered her hands, shaking her head a little to rid herself of any lingering disorientation from the explosion. Finally raising her eyes to look up at the warrior again. "So Zero, what is it exactly you're after? I may be a simple mechanic but I'm pretty bright at times too, might be able to offer something of use." She glanced up at the sky, scowling at the suns and grabbing her face clothe, clipping it in place once again to hide her face apart from her eyes. Her cheeks were definitely going to burn after all this time in the sun.

“That’s kind of a tricky question, Star” Zero said, as he stood up. “Officially we need to clear out these criminals for our ‘boss’ but unofficially; their leader has something that belongs to the Mandalorians, a very important mask that our people use to help unify the clans. But before we go on, I’d like to make sure that blast didn’t hurt you, so I’ll have our medic check you over to be safe, okay?” He explained while looking up the hill as his team moved down. With out another word, he motioned Rico over, he felt better knowing Estarra wasn’t injured from the concussive wave, everyone else, he signaled to move into cover and stack up on the doors. Damaged as it was, it still needed a demo experts touch to get in without getting a blaster to the face at close range.

When a white and green armored Mandalorian joined Zero and Star, he pulled his larger medical backpack off and set it to the ground before removed his helmet, revealing the man under the mask. “yes, Alorir?” Rico ask, wanting to know why he was called over. “Star, this is my teams dedicated Medic, Jericho Taung.” Zero said, wanting to break the ice a bit so Star was more comfortable. “Rico, give Ms. Estarra a quick looking over, if either of you don’t mind. That was a big blast and I don’t want her getting injured for my judgment call.” He said. “As you wish Zeronen” Rico said kneeling down over his pack.

Laying it flat, the medical expert opened the kit of his battlefield trade and pulled a hand held medical scanner from one of the sections. “Well Ms. Estarra, I know I can just give you a quick scan and be done, but I have to ask you some standard questions.” Rico said, being very much the professional he was trained to be. “Do you feel any pain in your head, or torso” he asked, knowing there was no better assistant to treatment then asking his care what they felt.

Even a hint of a medic made Estarra open her mouth to protest. She didn't like being treated as fragile and she was no damsel in distress. But she shut her mouth tight, knowing it was probably the right thing to do in the Mando's mind, he was only trying to help. Besides she was the only one on his side of the scope without some flashy armor to protect her. Fair enough that she would be the weakest link if anything had have happened to her.

She watched another Mando come and join them, her body tensing up out of reflex to the armor, whenever in the past she'd had to combat people in armor it had been a pain, better to get them separately not all together. Quickly she scolded herself for her reflexes and gritted her teeth, at least feeling a little better when the other man took off his helmet. Previously she'd never seen a Mando without his helmet and gear on, making them all the same in her mind, but now she got a good look at a couple underneath and they were not so easily dismissed. Of course the fact they were chasing a mask was kind of amusing in that regard, but she kept that to herself.

Unable to help herself she groaned at the typical and annoying repetitive medical questions. What medic never asked those questions? None that she knew of. Rolling her eyes she shook her head. "Negative Jericho, and that goes for any and all other routine questions. I'm not as breakable as I look, otherwise I wouldn't be a mechanic." She grinned at that logic, it was true since some mechanics could be more dangerous than people expected. Of course there was also the fact that she couldn't have been a Jedi, or a Sith for that matter, without being less breakable than she appeared. Those facts she kept to herself as she always did.

Rico just shook his head and put the scaning equipment away. “Aye ma’am, but if I must say, you sound like any Mandalorian woman when you talk like that.” Rico said as he pulled out a hypo-spay. “Zero, let me check your shoulder.” Rico said. But Zero just waved his hand dismissively, “I already self injected a dose of Bacta, Rico, I’ll be 100% in a few more minutes.” Zero informed of course they didn’t have that long before Squibs left. Zero watched as Fi finished rigging the door to blow before he reached down to help Estarra up. “You’re tough as one of our Bes'uliik war droids, I’ll give you that.” He said in compliment. He betted if she threw on some Beskar’gam and had someone thought her some Mando’a, that she’d fit right in. “there’s no telling what’s waiting for us in there.” He warned, “I won’t ask you to stay and help unless you want to Star.” Zero was willing to let folks not willing to fight to walk away, he could tell that Estarra was a fighter just from the way she carried herself, but he wasn’t willing to risk her life for something that a outsider wouldn’t truly understand.

Zero would let her do what she’d like, if she came, he’d watch her back like he would any of his teams, if she wanted to go, he’d wish her the best. For now, he had a base to clear and symbol to take back. Zero sprinted over to his team and fell in behind Fi as he and Fordo stacked up on either side of the door, Alana and Jasmine took cover behind a over turned speeder with their carbines trained on the soon to be open door.

Mara came over, her rifle slung over her shoulder and her helmet clipped to her hip. “if it was anything but Close-quarter fights in there, I'd go in first. sadly those are beyond area my expertise.” she said to Star with a warm smile. Yes, these Mandalorians were very much people under their armor. “If I didn’t know him any better, I’d think the Commander likes you, normally he never calls Rico over to check on wounded civilians.” After she said that, Fi blew open the doors, sending them flying from their hinges and down the hall about five feet. Zero and Fordo threw in two smoke grenades to hide themselves from open fire and the three dashed in. With their helmets Infrared vision mode on Fordo, Zero and Fi could see clearly as they fired at hostiles that had set up and impromptu defense.

The rumble that filtered up the lift shaft let Runi know the doors had been breached. They were moving faster than he had expected. He would have to speed this process up. And then his natural good luck ran out. The turbolift stopped.

Down on the main floor the men opened fire. The explosions and smoke disoriented them but they opened fore in the general direction of where the door had been. Several of them had heavy carbines and just held the triggers, hosing the entire zone with blaster fire. Others just fired at random as their compatriots started to fall to the determined mandalorians fire.

Runi pried at the doors but they refused to budge. The last person I want to be stuck on an elevator with. Runi thought as he looked around the lift. There was an access panel to the outside of the turbolift on the ceiling. A short hop and he had gabbed the handle and pulled it open. "Come on." Runi said taking a knee and making a cradle with his hands. "I'll have to boost you out from there you're just gonna have to trust me."

Cracker wasn't the smartest being in the galaxy. But he was smarter than he let on to others. Smart enough to know about the hangar in the basement. And smart enough to know that Squibs would attempt to get there taking his most valuable possessions. So it was an easy decision for him to grab his axe and head there. He would kill him and the uppity mandalorian brat Runi. And he would fly away, simple.

Boosting Squibs bulk up out of the turbolift was a chore. Scaring him with the next part was actually enjoyable. Attaching his grappling hook to a spur on the wall of the shaft had been easy. Squibs jumped onto his back with a whimper and the two of them fell down the shaft. The rodian screamed and Runi laughed until they came to the end of the cable and Runi was grateful that he had enough to get them to the main floor. He swung himself into the open doorway and they landed in a heap on the main floor. The sound of blaster fire was loud enough for Runi to realize how close they were. "Why didn't you build the turbolift to actually go down to the basement? Come on, we have to get to the stairs."
