  • 1.3 – Players wishing to claim an avatar and thus make it not useable by other players may do so by using the avatar claims. you don't have to claim original art, just actors/actresses or specific anime figures like Cloud Strife.
  • 1.4 – Characters who have yet to be accepted may not post in any IC (In character) areas.
  • 1.5 – For the enjoyment of the players the rpg restricts a player to owning four characters, the third of which must be non-sensitive to the Force before we accept another Force sensitive character from you.
    • 1.5.1 - you would like more than four characters, you must consult an admin about it. If they decide that you are responsible enough, then they may let you take on five or more characters.
  • 1.6 - this site is rated mature due to the graphic contents, language, and sexual activity. We do not expect anyone to participate in any of these we require everyone to understand that it is an acceptable form of Role Play on this forum.

(( Section 2: Out of Character ))

  • 2.1 – The Chat box and shout box are designed for player OOC Communication. The use of such for spamming, flaming, or any other derogatory mature is strictly prohibited.
  • 2.2 – All people using the Chatterbox must act in a manner of respect to other players despite your feelings toward one another IF or OOC.
  • 2.3 – The use of the ChatterBox for advertising is prohibited. Continued activity of advertising is grounds for a minimum of a written warning and maximum of suspension.
  • 2.4 – the Introductions area is for new members to introduce themselves. It is permissible for players to reply and converse openly as long as it is gone in a respectful way. Arguing or doing anything to try and detour players from joining is strictly prohibited on grounds of suspension.
  • 2.5 – guests are welcome to post In Chatterbox’s but must follow the rules. Grounds for breaking the rules may result in an IP ban from the site. we take pride in being part of this site and we hope you will too.
  • 2.6 – OOC areas, such as advertisements, games, and topic discussions are to be handled with the same respect as the IC parts of the website.
  • 2.7 – OOC posting within the IC is strictly prohibited. Should a player have a problem with a topic resulting in need for such the player may choose to either PM the other party or differ to a Moderator to address the situation.

(( Section 3: In Character ))

  • 3.1 – All IC posts must be written from the Third person perspective.
  • 3.2 – All IC posts must be made with the intention to role play. As such posts of one lines, single dialog, or Emotes is prohibited. The site has no standard for post lengths but expects players to post in a suitable manner.
  • 3.3 – Posts containing extreme graphic content (excessive gore, drugs, or sexual activities) must be labeled MA in the topic title for the benefit of players who may not agree to such things.
  • 3.4 – when starting a topic, anywhere on the site, make sure the title isn't in all in caps! use proper punctuation.
  • 3.5 – Players must make an attempt to use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. We all make mistakes and do not fault you for them, btu woh watns to red a psot ware its moore work two reed than its worth.

(( Section 4: Non-Player Characters ))

  • 4.1 – NPCs are permitted but you must discern whether they are Major or Minor.
  • 4.2 – Minor NPCs are characters that your character may encounter briefly once or even several times but they have no major hold on the game or impact other than an aid and a person to talk to.
  • 4.3 – Major NPCs are characters that are constantly with your character, or can wander off on their own but are still under your character name, they have greater power than other NPCs and hold higher ranks and are treated much the same as a Player Character.
  • 4.4 – When you wish to have a Major NPC you must first create their profile as you would your character's profile and have it accepted.
  • 4.5 – Major NPCs are to be treated the same as PCs and allowed the Player to counteract the attacks of others.

(( Section 5: Role Play Code ))

  • 5.1 – The Rule of Character: all players must remain in character at all times in scene and can only act as their character has the ability to act, governed by the knowledge their character has via their In Character activity.
  • 5.2 - The Rule of Scene: all players joining a scene must adhere to the scene placed by the respective person(s) having created or taking part within it. The scene will only change if the Parties involved agree to the change of scene.
  • 5.3 - The Rule of Targeting: you have the ability to strike at a person within your characters ability but the damage is not carried out unless the person cannot find a way to not be struck or otherwise avoid the intended damage.
  • 5.4 – The Rule of Response: you have the ability to respond at any point within the post at which you are spending to. Doing so you must accept everything the other party has put forth to do within their post. Should they then choose to change actions that would have gone into effect after your post had finished in response to your post, it is within their rights as apart of this rule.
    • 5.4.1 – Example – Adam throws a punch aimed to hit Ben in the face, followed by a kick aimed in the same way. Ben steps to the right and throws his head to the right as well evading the punch narrowly then throws a right hand aimed to hit Adam in the face. (in this case Ben has posted form the point before the kick was thrown. Adam may now choose to have the kick land since it was not stopped but doing so means he would be taking a punch to the face. This is where he may now change what he had planned in his new post.) Adam uses the momentum he had in motion for his kick but instead drops down evading the oncoming fist and turning the kick to the face into a sweep kick aimed to his Ben’s legs.
  • 5.5 – The Rule of limitations: you may only have your character react in a way that they would be able to react.
    • 5.5.1 - This means your character can only move at a speed evident by the restraints of their body and factors attributing or limiting to the speed.
    • 5.5.2 - This means they can only hear things that are within their range of hearing.
    • 5.5.3 - This means they can only be as strong as their body can be with the attributing factors or limitations to their strength.
    • 5.5.4 – This means they can only react as fast as is reasonable acceptable with the attributing factors or limitations to their ability to think and react.
    • 5.5.5 – this also means that a player who is thinking about what they will do as opposed to reacting, does not have the time to do it.
  • 5.6 - The Rule of Damage: if you are struck with damage you must then rp with the constraints that the inflicted damage will impair.
  • 5.7 – The Rule of Time Constrant: This means that a player has 72 hours to post a reply to another post
    • 5.7.1- if a player does not post within 72 hours then their character is considered "removed" form the topic. this means the character is considered to have left and the other players would continue the topic as such.
    • 5.7.2- -If a player comes back and has been removed, they simply need to post as returning to the topic and make any adjustments to fit into the topic as if they had just joined the topic.
    • 5.7.3--If a player is in a fight and does not post within 72 hours of any attack directed at them, they take all intended damage.
    • 5.7.4--A character cannot be killed from failing to post within the 72 hours.
    • 5.7.5 -If a player takes intended damage from failing to post the character will be removed from the topic after that damage is delt.
    • 5.7.6- If a player notifies the board of a Leave Of Absence then all topics sill continue as if the character has left the topic.
    • 5.5.7 -If a player Notifies a Leave of absence during a battle, it is treated as if the character left the battle taking no further damage.
    • 5.7.8- If all the players within a topic agree to wait for a player to return or post, it is acceptable to hold a topic open while waiting.
    • 5.7.9 -If a topic goes 2 weeks without a post it can not be reopened.
    • 5.7.10 - a thread may stay open indefinitely as long as all parties involved agree to holding the thread.
    • 5.7.11 -a Player may not join a topic that has not had a post within a week.

I've read the rules and the words are:(the code words are "Go for Papa Palpatine").

(( Section 6: Disclaimer & Graphics ))

  • 6.1 – Echoes in the Night does not have claim to the Star Wars title or any information taken form within Canon Star Wars. EitN does not take responsibility for any action of a person playing on the board. Any images taken without permission and being used on EitN is solely the reasonability of the player who has done so.
  • 6.2 - Echoes does not condone the stealing of images for personal use. Should Echoes be notified of an image in use on the board taken without permission (Deviant art) then said images will be removed without notification.
  • 6.3 - all icons should be a max of 150x200and under 25kb.
  • 6.4 - any and all signatures can be no bigger than 500x300. thus meaning, the width of your signature can not exceed 500 pixels. and the height of your signature may not exceed 300 pixels
  • 6.5 – if you are not capable of making graphics, feel free to head over to CAUTION OF THE WIND and request some. they make amazing graphics over there. or likewise if we have a resident graphic artist feel free to request graphics from them. <3

(( Section 7: Moderation & Warnings ))

  • 7.1 – Understanding: The Echoes in the Night Staff have the right to explain in any circumstances the banning of a member, but will do so in a matter-of-fact way and will not show things like Personal Messages which are meant for Staff eyes only.
  • 7.2 - Zero Tolerance: The EitN Staff will not tolerate under any circumstances arguing with the staff. If you have a problem with a Moderators view contact an Admin with your reasons. The Admin will have the final say, further arguing will result in a warning.
    • 7.2.1 – The staff do not expect you to be perfect and even we make mistakes. All we ask is that players do their part to read posts carefully and post accordingly. Should a Moderator get involved all we ask if is that you cooperate. Doing so makes everyone life easier and no harm is done.
    • 7.2.2 – Depending on the depth of the argument with the Staff if you choose to continue it you can look at skipping previous warning levels and reaching the final straight away in special circumstances, thus if you continue after this warning the Staff have grounds to Ban you.

  • 7.3 - Warning Levels: Echoes is based on the 3 Warnings System. In most cases people will be allowed to have 3 Warnings before suspension or banning. Please take each warning seriously or you will find you run out of them very quickly.
    • 7.3.2 - The Staff have the right to skip Warnings 1 and 2 based on the severity of your actions, however they cannot ban you immediately without warning. Failure to listen to the Staff, and you will be notified of which Warning level you are on, can then result in your suspension or banning.

(( thank you for reading, your admins ))
