FORCE POWER POTENCY LEVELS
For all Force Sensitive characters using the force, these levels are intended to serve as the system through which we will moderate and regulate all force power usage. For starters, there are no Anakin Skywalkers here, so their will be no super padawans with incredible skills that make Sith Lord's tremble by the sheer weight of their awesomeness. With that in mind, these ranks will apply to all characters, regardless of rank or organization.
Because the force powers themselves follow upon this rank system, a force power must be listed within a profile, with a corresponding force power rank to be used in RP. Please pay careful attention to the information listed, as it will have an impact on how force powers are used within the flow of the RP.
Beginner - This level is where you start at with Force Powers, the Adepts who accidentally do things in the heat of the moment and the learners who have to focus hard and drain away their other focuses - that is Beginner level.
Moderate - This level is where your character has developed some skill in using the power, it might not work exactly how it should and it might still take a lot of focus but it occurs a lot more often with that focus than it did in the Beginner level.
Skilled - This level is achieved by Knights and those bordering on Knighthood. With the skilled use of powers your character can summon the power without draining focus away from other things, though sometimes it may not work quite as effectively unless you do put more focus into it.
Advanced - With this level your character can summon the power at will and with very little effect on focus as well as constantly the way they want it.
Master - The ultimate level, when your character achieves this there is no rival for the usage of this power, it is the most advanced and as simple to use as eye sight or hearing is to any normal person.
RULES TO BALANCE THE FORCE
Due to the everpresent succeptibility to the dreaded shouts of "Powergaming" that can ruin any good RP experience, The staff here at the Star Wars: Echoes in the Night Roleplaying Community had created a list of Force Powers/Abilities that for the purpose of removing any potential gamebreaking risks; are hence forth banned for use within the roleplay. Many of these exclusions are no doubt easy to understand, however in an effort to reduce any problems with this ruling, each power will have a short explanation as to why it is not allowed. This list is something of a work in progress, so watch regularly to make sure that you aren't thinking of going after one of the dreaded "Not allowed" Force Powers.
* Battle Mediation- An extremely rare and difficult power to use correctly Battle Meditation is not so much banned, as it is heavly regulated. A character wishing to use this power must obtain permission via an Admin.
* Battle Precognition- The power to predict the moves of an opponent before they are made is in many ways the very deffintion of the dreaded Powerplaying Godmod.
* Force Resuscitation- To be simple, the laws of death do in fact apply. Their will be no 'Force Lightning to heal grievous injuries or return the dead to life'
* Spirit Transference- While this power may be used personally, to say move to a new clone body, for storyling purposes with a character. It will not be used to effectively 'character poach' the body of another PC.
* Force Statis & Statis Field- In many respects this is the ultimate kill move, being trapped unable to move or respond would enable an instant kill, most deffinately not tolerated.
* Thought Bomb- Certain Instantenous Death to all those in range, this cannot be allowed for fairness sake.
* Force Storm (Worm Hole)- Space is a network of wormholes, or at least that is what Carl Sagan told us. However, ripping open new ones through sheer force of will is rather ridiculous. The Lightning version, is totally allowed of course.
* Sever Force- The Force is everywhere, it is life, it won't simply be stripped in battle. Jedi may still use this power in a story approved, character constended instance, such as the unlikely event a redeamed Sith might choose to earn redemption by giving up the force. (yeah, unlikely, but this is just an example)
* Morichro- Not that bad of a power to be honest, however simply shutting down someone's organs can be very very bad and something of a one hit super kill if used against the right target, which we just can't allow.
