Roman Garou Played by Maria; Contact via PM Posted Image What have I become My sweetest friend Everyone I know goes away In the end ~*~ ESPer Identification Card Full Name: Roman Garou Aliases: Not many folk are brave enough to give him a nickname. Gender: Male Age/Birthday: Looks like he's in his 40's or so, but is actually somewhere in his 90's. He stopped counting, and never celebrates his birthday. Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Job Title: Registration Officer Otherworld Affiliation: Earth, Beastlands Species: Werewolf Physical Appearance: Roman's a big guy, and by big, I mean effing HUGE. He's a decent 6'4" tall, but his height isn't the only thing that lends him presence. He's built like a small mountain of muscle, putting guys like Schwarzeneger to shame. With limbs like small tree trunks and a neck you couldn't put your hands around if you tried, he's a solid mass of power. There's a bit of pudge around his belt buckle, but nobody would ever say this guy had a beer gut. He just likes good food. Otherwise, nothing but muscle on this werewolf. Aside from his sheer mass, Roman's not much to look at. He's covered in scars, mostly self-inflicted during his violent monthly changes, but he's been in a few scraps. The entire left side of his face is a puckered mass of scar tissue, supposedly from taking a load of silver buckshot in the face. He was lucky to keep his eye, but the rest of that half of his face isn't real pretty. There are more such scars all over his body, but not many see him in anything less than a flannel shirt and torn jeans. He looks a little like an overgrown lumberjack. His skin is tan from being in the outdoors quite a bit, and his hair is a very normal brown. His eyes are golden from being in his wolf form so much. Speaking of his wolf form, he's about the size of a Clydesdale horse, covered in grizzled gray-brown fur where the scars don't show. He's impressive, that's for sure, and big, but doesn't look like the sort of doggy you'd wanna pet. Unless he's stuck in a full-moon rage, however, he's gentle as a kitten. Personality: Roman is the typical strong, silent type you might associate with a bouncer or a heavy military guy. He's smarter than he looks, though he's not well-educated, and his slight Southern drawl fools people into thinking he's a little slow. He's of average intelligence, really, but with wisdom beyond his apparent years due to his extended lifespan and slow aging process, as well as a predatory sharpness to his observational skills. He's alert and aware at all times, so don't let that massive body fool you into thinking he's thick. Despite his intimidating appearance, Roman is mostly a big sweetheart. He's calm and slow to anger, unless you threaten someone he considers under his protection. Fiercely loyal and devoted, he would never betray or harm someone he considered a friend. He's gentle as a kitten most of the time, but he is capable of violence, especially when he loses control over his beast side. He won't sit by and take a hit without retaliation, either, especially when facing a dangerous foe. His usually calm and gentle demeanor is undercut by a current of wry humor. Roman can take a joke, and dish 'em out just as well, especially when it comes to poking fun at his coworkers. His easy camaraderie has made him a favorite water cooler buddy in the Registration Department. However, even this easy-going attitude doesn't entirely mask the darkness behind his golden eyes. It's obvious to anyone who pays attention that Roman has seen and done some things he'd rather not discuss... or remember. History: Roman was an ordinary Minnesota farm boy in the 1940's. Big for his age, and strong from hard labor, but not nearly the hulking brute he is now. One night, he woke to the sounds of growling and tearing, and the screams of the horses. Running outside with a shotgun, he found a wolf so huge he thought it must have been a grizzly bear at first. It "chose" him, rending the young man's flesh with tooth and claw until the poor boy passed out from pain and blood loss, before proceeding to dine on Roman's family. Roman, once he regained consciousness, tracked his attacker down with newly sharpened senses and killed him with fangs and claws of his own. After that, Roman packed a few belongings and ran far, far from everything he called home. Changing his name to avoid questions, he worked for many years as a cash-paid farm laborer. Nobody questioned his origins, and everybody liked the quiet, hard-working young man, even if he did have some strange and disturbing scars. When too much attention turned his way, or he'd stayed too long in one place (usually decided when dead livestock turned up), he packed up and moved on again. Eventually, he made his way to the South, picking up a slight drawl on the way. Working his way up the east coast, he finally looped back through the Midwest and found his way back to his home state. By this point, he'd already lived a long, long time, and had put his human life behind him. He allowed himself to become more and more the beast to survive. VK registration officer Gabriel found Roman chained to a concrete column inside an abandoned warehouse. He'd killed people this time, and couldn't bear to allow it to happen again. He nearly killed Gabe as well (and Gabe is a wraith, so that was quite the feat), but eventually Sage tamed the savage beast. He bent to her will like an eager puppy, and has been a productive member of the R.O. team since then. Other than that, he doesn't talk much about his history, and he isn't too keen on folks who ask. It's obvious from the look in his eyes that he's been through a lot more than he tells, however. ~*~ Dossier Stats:
