Armour Types
These are the possible armour types your character can use. For ease of reading and understanding, there are two sections: Light Armor and Heavy Armor. Light Armor is lighter and is easier to move around in, but provides less protection. Heavy Armor is heavier and clumbsy, but provides much more protection. Glass and Dremora armor can only be worn if Level 4 in their respective classes. Elven and Ebony armor can only be worn if Level 3 in their respective classes. Shrouded armor can only be worn if you are a member of the Dark Brotherhood, Blades armor can only be worn if you are part of the Blades, and Legion armor can only be worn if you are a member of the Imperial Legion. Daedric (Cursed) can only be worn if Level 4 in Heavy Armor, and fight for one of the evil factions, or have an evil personality.

Light Armor

Fur (Preview)
Fur armor is made from the fur of animals. It provides the weakest protection against enemy attacks, but it's the least heavy of all the armors. It is a common, low-level armor.

Leather (Preview)
Leather armor is a type of light armor made from the skin and hides of animals. The armor is easy to obtain, as it is available from level 1.

Chainmail (Preview)
Chainmail armor is made of interlocking links of metal, forming a light and flexible, yet sturdy armor that provides better protection than fur and leather armor. The armor is recommended with level 2 light armor.

Mithril (Preview)
Mithril armor is a type of light armor. This is the highest class of light armor that shops will normally sell.
[ Helmet | Cuirass | Left Pauldron | Right Paulron | Left Gauntlet | Right Gauntlet | Greaves | Boots ]

Elven (Preview)
Elven armor is an elegant armor made by the high elves of the Summerset Isle. The armor is light but durable, and is known for its unique style and maneuverability.

Glass (Preview)
Glass armor is the strongest form of light armor in Tamriel. The Dunmer are the masters of light armor design, and glass armor is the pinnacle of that design. Inspired by traditional High Elven ornate armors, this very expensive armor is studded with native volcanic obsidian glass. Remarkably light and flexible, glass armor absorbs and distributes shock better than steel while providing enough flexibility to grant the wearer a superior range of movement.

Shrouded (Preview)
Shrouded Armor is a speciality armor used by those of the Dark Brotherhood. It is lighter and fur, and provides more protection than it. The armor is a body suit, meaning no boots, greaves, gauntlets or cuirasses can be equipped. Skill bonuses are also given when equipped.

Heavy Armor

Iron (Preview)
Iron armor is a very affordable type of heavy armor. Its also easy to get a set as almost every heavy armor salesman will have a few pieces of iron armor for sale in their humble shop. Iron armor is also the armor set given to cadets or new recruits of the Fighters Guild.

Steel (Preview)
Steel armor is one step up from Iron Armor in quality, performance, and price. It's also a mantle used to display the superior rank of seasoned legionnaires belonging to the Fighters Guild.
[ Helmet | Cuirass | Left Pauldron | Right Paulron | Left Gauntlet | Right Gauntlet | Greaves | Boots ]

Dwarven (Preview)
The secrets of Dwemer armorcraft are long-forgotten. Dwemer pieces encountered throughout the land are thousands of years old, scavenged from abandoned Dwarf Mechanitions sometimes found in ancient Dwemer ruins. Dwemer armor is heavy and cumbersome, but Dwemer craftsmanship and metallurgy are top tier quality in comparison to any modern metal armor style. Enthusiasts pay fabulous prices for individual pieces, and the few complete sets are in the hands of collectors.

Orc (Preview)
Based on High Elven designs, Orcish armor is an ornate but remarkably light steel plate worn over cloth padding. Light and comfortable in contrast to other steel plate designs, orcish armor commands premium prices from campaigning mercenary officers and style-conscious nobles.
[ Helmet | Cuirass | Left Pauldron | Right Paulron | Left Gauntlet | Right Gauntlet | Greaves | Boots ]

Ebony (Preview)
Ebony armor is thick and rare, crafted from a rare form of volcanic glass buried in the lava flows from Vvardenfell's Red Mountain. The armor is so named because of its black, glassy surface.
[ Helmet | Cuirass | Left Pauldron | Right Paulron | Left Gauntlet | Right Gauntlet | Greaves | Boots ]

Dremora (Preview)
Dremora weapons, though as heavy as their daedric counterparts and visually identical, are vastly inferior. Items of this material are generally retrieved from Dremora Lords and other daedra in the Oblivion plane.
[ Helmet | Cuirass | Left Pauldron | Right Paulron | Left Gauntlet | Right Gauntlet | Greaves | Boots ]

Daedric (Cursed) (Preview)
Mostly worn by Dremora lords and princes, Daedric armor is very heavy and cumbersome but offers excellent protection. It is the most rare and expensive armor known in Tamriel, and few individuals possess pieces of this armor, let alone a full set. Often mistaken for its similar counterparts in the Dremora sets, Daedric armor is often known to bear a curse; or have a daedra spirit forged into its unholy plates. The process is not a pleasant one for the Daedra involved, and the armor pieces often retain echoes of preternaturally prolonged suffering endured during manufacture.

Blades (Preview)
Blades armor is the heavy armor worn by the Blades, the guild of men and women charged with the protection of the emperor. This full set of armor can be acquired for free by joining the Blades at Cloud Ruler Temple, just north of Bruma. Note that this armor is the exact equivalent of Legion Armor except for the obvious visual differences. It is based on Akaviri design.
[ Helmet | Cuirass | Left Pauldron | Right Paulron | Left Gauntlet | Right Gauntlet | Greaves | Boots ]

Imperial Legion (Preview)
Legion Armor is a special type of heavy armor worn by the Imperial Legion, primarily in and around Imperial City. The stats are almost exactly the same as steel armor, but with slight differences.
