ES:IF is a text-based forum RPG based upon the popular Elder Scrolls series by Bethesda Softworks. The storyline takes place during Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, when the peaceful land of Tamriel is invaded by hordes of creatures called Daedra. To participate, one must register on the forum and post a Character Biography. For those who don't know, they are an overview of your own unique character. It describes your character's clothes, appearance and personality. You have the choice of either choosing a faction and receiving special bonuses, or stay independant, and do as you wish.

Skill Point System; Skill Points & Abilities

These are the abilities you can learn and points you can use. They are split into three sections: Combat, Miscellaneous and Magic. You can pick anything you want, but you only have 8 points to use. You may only max out two skills however, and have only three Level 3 skills. If you have any questions, feel free to ask a Staff member.

Note: Maxing out skills only counts with the 8 points given to you. It does not include the Birthsign or Classes.

Combat
These skills are invaluable to many. It is how many survive in Tamriel, and mastering these skills may allow you to attack and defend forces with ease.

Swordsman/Blades (1-4)
Level 1 in Blades grants the user basic skill in bladed weapons. Level 4 is a master of blades, with the ability to use two swords at once.

Halberds/Spears (1-4)
Level 1 grants the user basic skills. Level 4 is a master of these weapons, able to perform perfect attacks at long or short range.

Blunt Weapons (1-4)
Level 1 grants the user basic skill with maces or warhammers. Level 4 is a guaranteed injury or death with attacks.

Marksman (1-4)
Level 1 allows the user to hit larger targets. Level 4 mastery has the skill to perform almost instant kills with a single knife. Smaller swords could also be used if both Blades and Marksman are Level 3 or 4.

Hand-to-Hand (1-4)
Level 1 allows lethal attacks to unsuspecting opponents. Level 4 could take out a well-armed guard within the space of a minute.


Miscellaneous
These basic skills could turn a homeless person into a rich lord, either through trading or stealing.

Stealth (1-4)
Level 1 means you would probably have a better chance running than sneaking. Level 4 means your not there, and you never were.

Acrobatics (1-4)
From dodging claymores, to dodging a swarm of arrows.

Athletics (1-4)
Level 1 would be slightly faster than average, while Level 4 would be uncatchable.

Security (1-4)
Level 1 have a slim chance of opening harder locks, while Level 4 could lock-pick through almost anything.

Armorer (1-4)
Level 1 would have a large chance of damaging your armour even more, while Level 4 would have your armour better than new.

Speechcraft (1-4)
Level 1 would encourage beggers, while Level 4 would be persuading guards and important persons.

Marcantile (1-4)
Level 1 can trade more items than an average person, while Level 4 would be paying almost half price for expensive items.

Heavy Armor (1-4)
Level 1's will be slow and inexperienced, Level 4's will wear heavy armor like a second skin, and can stop almost any attack.

Light Armor (1-4)
Level 1's will be inexperienced, Level 4's will wear light armor like a second skin.


Magicka
Skills in Magic can summon weapons and armor, create fireballs and shields, summon daedric species, and turn enemies upon each other.

Illusion (1-4)
Illusion is a powerful magic in the right hands. Starting with spells that make you partially invisible, to spells that make you completely invisible or even appear as another creature.

Alchemy (1-4)
Incredibily useful. Create potions for almost any situation. Level 1 starts with simple potions that cure minor wounds and give you a small boost of energy, to potions that make you invisible and poison others.

Conjuration (1-4)
From a simple rat to a Daedra, conjuration can summon up another friend to assist you in battle or for a distraction. Level 1 can summon basic things such as a scamp or Daedric dagger; Level 4 can summon monsterous Daedroth or even a full set of armour for a short time.

Mysticism (1-4)
Useful spell for multiple situations. See the life force of creatures or people many feet away, or perform telekinesis upon objects just as far.

Alteration (1-4)
Alteration can make you as light as a fear, cast shields, or even open locks without lockpick or key.

Restoration (1-4)
Level 1 can heal minor wounds; Level 4 can heal life-threatening injuries.

Destruction (1-4)
Level 1 can release fireballs or electricity; Level 4 can release waves of flame or lightning strikes.

Necromancy (1-4)
Level 1 can bring back simple creatures to life, Level 4 can bring back a squad of Skelton's, drain the life of others, or even create unique armor.

Weaknesses
These are the weaknesses. You must have at least one weakness, and cannot have more than four. Each point for every weakness gives one extra point for abilities. You may make up your own weaknesses, but make it realistic. Also, all weakness must be roleplayed.

Damaged Limb (1-3)
One would be minor but permanent damage, three would be missing altogether.

Unstable (1-3)
At one, minor things may make your character mad. Three, your character would become an uncontrollable rampage.

Impaired Senses (1-3)
One, slightly impaired; three, completely useless.

Addiction (1-3)
Addicted to a substance. One, can go without it for a day or two. Three is constant intake.

Cowardly (1-3)
One, slightly scared in battle; Three, complete cowardness.

Cruel (1-3)
One would involve cruel humor; three being torturing people.

Delusions (1-3)
One would involve hallusinations, with three being total paranoia.

Lazy (1-3)
One being slightly lazy, three being a fat, couch potato.

Greedy (1-3)
One being small harrassments, three being killing for money.

Obsession (1-3)
One being grabbing it whenever sighted, three being doing anything for it.

Reckless (1-3)
One being rather careless; three, complete nonsense act.

Arrogant (1-3)
One being slightly arrogant, three making every peeved off.

Unobservant (1-3)
One, missing noticable details; three, missing things at point-blank.

Forgetful (1-3)
From forgetting simple things to forgetting everything.

Gullible/Niave (1-3)
One being silly, three being complete dumb***.

Lecherous (1-3)
You like your men/women. Distracting at one, obessive at three.
