Plot Rydle, Oregon started out as a small town with no more than a couple hundred residents. In the last two years its numbers dwindled down to about thirty total residents, and it became almost a total ghost town. Some organization known as P.C.O.A.P bought up most of the land, be it business or residential, and the former residents took whatever money they were offered and left. P.C.O.A.P was working on buying the houses and land of the remaining residents when something they couldn't have predicted happened. A pack of loup garou fighting against a small band of vampires came tearing through the town.
The physical damage wasn't the real problem, since the organization had plans to tear down most of what buildings remained and rebuild to their liking anyway. The real problem was that many of the remaining residents were either bit by loup garou, or nearly killed in the cross-fire from the battling wolves and vampires. Needless to say, the P.C.O.A.P people felt responsible for what had happened. So once the wolves and vampires were taken care of, the injured residents were tended to. Those who weren't bitten or seriously injured were bandaged up, offered money, and sent on their merry way to whatever place their new homes might be in. Of course, their memories were wiped before they were allowed to leave, but hey. Those who were bitten were introduced to the paranormal world by P.C.O.A.P members, and those who were to seriously injured to just be patched up were turned by the vampires with the organization.
Now P.C.O.A.P has to deal with the new turns and continue to establish Rydle, Oregon as the first all paranormal town. What's making things worse is that word of the town has been spreading like wild-fire through the paranormal community. It would be great, except for one little thing; not all of those in the paranormal community have good intentions when it comes to the town, and finding a way to protect Rydel before a sudden onslaught of negative-minded paranormal creatures reaches it isn't going to be easy.
Rules 1.) Please follow the guidelines for whichever race you choose to play. 2.) I'm sure I really don't have to say this, but if you god-mod/whatever I'll beat you. 3.) I'm going to ask for at least one post per week. 4.) I don't care how much you write, as long as it contributes to the roleplay and isn't written lyk dis. 6.) Please p.m. me profiles for approval before posting them here. 7.) If you screw up, I will beat you. (Not likely, but it would be awesome if I could just reach through my computer screen and slap people...) 8.) All original vampires, werewolves, etc..are NPCs. Same goes for gods. 9.) Multiple characters are allowed; just make sure you can keep up with all of them.

Vampires The Back Story: Legend has it that vampires originated with a grandson of the Dagda. The story goes something like this :
Alastar; an ancient Irish warrior, was one of the Dagda's favored grandchildren. He was born the son of a child the god sired through the Morrigan, but the child is never named. Being a relative of a war goddess made him nearly invincible on the battlefield, but not quite immortal. (Some say this is because his other parent was a human. No one knows the real truth, and either way it doesn't change what happened.) Alastar became mortally wounded on the battle field while still in his prime. If not for him being a favored grandchild of the Dagda, he would have died that day. Instead his distraught grandfather petitioned the Morrigan to help save their grandson. "It can be done, but he will not be human anymore," she had warned. In the arrogance of divinity, her warning went unheeded by the other god. "Just save him," he'd responded. So; in the cauldron of the Dagda, the Morrigan worked her magic and brewed the dark potion to save Alastar. "You must wait until his heart beats no more, and then administer the potion. Be warned; when he awakens, he will be so consumed with a thirst for blood that he will be aware of nothing else. You must have sacrifices of human blood at the ready for him," she warned in dire tones. Again, her warnings went unheeded. The Dagda did everything the Morrigan told him to, save for having human sacrifices ready. So the first vampire was created, and the Dagda lost his life to arrogance.
About the Race: The first seven vampires that Alastar turned, as well as he himself, became known as the Ancients. Every subsequent vampire belongs(ed) to one of the eight "families;" with each family having its own special ability. Those in Alastar's family seem to have more powers with the abilities of teleporting, telepathy, flying, and telekinesis, but it really depends on how well trained the vampire is. The other eight families are as follows; Ambrose's family has control over the element of spirit. Alastrina's family has control over the element of earth. Ethon's family has control over the element of water. Kamenwati's family controls fire, Bharadwaj's family controls air, and Chi's family has the power to summon and control demons. (Side note : Be realistic with how much your vampire character can do with the powers they inherit from their family. A new-turn in Chi's family isn't going to be able to summon and control much more than the lowest level of demons.) Aside from their powers the biggest things you need to know about vampires in this roleplay are as follows: -A vampire caught in the sunlight is a crispy critter. -They're automatically forced into a dreamless sleep when the sun rises. -They *can* have sexual intercourse, but they cannot reproduce. -A human's heart must stop beating before they can be turned, but the infusion of a vampire's blood must be given or consumed within no more than twenty minutes after the heart stops, or they will not be turned. -The turn is excruciatingly painful. -One in three turns will not make it through the transformation. -Vampires become mated for the next 100 years, with the exception of death, (meaning forced fidelity) after having sexual intercourse with humans, other vampires, or other supernatural creatures. (The Morrigan got tired of vampires taking advantage of the humans they fed from.) -All vampires have your standard super-human strength, speed, ect.. -All vampires also have the ability of compulsion. -In this roleplay vampires area allotted 3 pints of blood per day as per every day consumption. (P.C.O.A.P has human donors that they pay and take care of.) If a vampire needs more blood due to an injury they will be fed bagged blood until they can be trusted to drink from human donors.
Were-Wolves There are two types of were-wolves in this roleplay. You have your loup de danann (yes, wolves of Danu) and your loup garou. The main differences are the loup de danann take the form of actual wolves, where-as the loup garou are the walk-on-two-legs-human-wolf-hybrid things. Also the loup de danann shift on the full moon, where the loup garou actually shift on the new moon. Loup de danann are raised as protectors of the vampires, and loup garou are raised as hunters of the vampires. The other things you need to know about the were-wolves apply to both types. -They're not immortal in the way that vampires are, but they are very difficult to kill and have much longer life-spans than humans. -Their strength, speed, etc.. rival that of a vampire. -The older were-wolves can maintain control when shifting quite easily. -Were-wolves with "royal" blood-lines (basically descendants of the first were-wolves) do not have to wait for the full/new moon to shift. These were-wolves also have powers similar to those of the vampire family of Alastar. (Teleporting, telepathy, and telekinesis.) -There are only about 50 were-wolves of either lineage left that are descendants of the first were-wolves. -Much like actual wolves, weres mate for life. -Were-wolves can be both born and turned.
Shifters Unlike werewolves, these guys can shift at any time. They're not really super-human, but they do have extended life-spans and a little bit of magic. (Enough to put a decent amount of energy into any rituals they might perform, but no real active powers.) Shifter species/breeds include: -Wolves -Bears -Lions -Tigers -Jaguars -Cheetahs -Leopards -Hawks -Eagles
Faeries Faery magic is very powerful; some of the most powerful magic in the world, but it's also unpredictable. It will work, but probably not the way you were hoping it would. Most faeries do have wings, but they can be hidden. Aside from their typical eccentric outerwear (including brightly colored hair and eyes) it's hard to tell a faerie unless they out-right announce it. They're shorter than your average human, and have the ability to shrink themselves down to no more than a couple inches in height, but not so short that they stick out. (As far as what they can and can't do with their magic think of them like a lesser demi-god, but remember that their magic is unpredictable.)
Witches Not really a race, but their magic makes them fit in better with the paranormal community. Their active powers are usually less visible; things like telepathy, empathy, precognition, etc. However, I'd hate to be on the receiving end of one of their spells, because with the proper training a witch can be pretty powerful.
Note (I know this isn't a very big list of races for you to pick and choose from, but for the time being it is what there is. If there's a race that you don't see on here that you really want to play feel free to send me a message and I may be willing to update the list of races for you.)

You don't only belong to yourself, you know. I doubt there is a single person in this world that belongs only to himself. When someone makes a connection there is always something shared. And so people will never be completely free. It's that which brings out fun, and sadness and love.
