Hold the heathen hammer high with a battle cry For the pagan past I live and one day will die Hold the heathen hammer high, never turn away Ever true unto your forefathers stalwart stay
-Heri Joensen, warrior-skald of Asgard
Humanity has forgotten much in its short history. Gods and heroes, once revered, are now called myth and legend as the world turns its back on them. Beliefs once held dear are now thought of as ridiculous faiths of primitive humans. What mankind does not realize however, is that just because something is a myth does not mean that it is false.
The ancient gods never truly died, and are turning their attention to the world of men for the first time in many years. Their return will not be a simple matter, however, and they will need mortals who will act on their behalf before the way can be opened.
--------------------------------------------------------
The Basics You get to play as the chosen mortal for a specific god. You will face an ancient foe, as old as the gods themselves, and in order to open the way for your patron deity to return to the world, the enemy must be defeated.
The Rules "Godmodding" in this RP is a relative term. If you don't have a skill or divine power or whatever at character creation, you don't have it.
Other than the modified definition of godmod, follow all the usual rules. I have creative ways of dealing with people that derail the RP, and as the site's resident ball of seething furious rage, I think I'm expected to kick people out if they start any crap. And I will make your death both hilarious and mind-scarring.
In order to make sure that everyone read this, your character sheet must have the phrase "shoop da whoop" in it somewhere, possibly at the bottom in really tiny letters.
Characters Pick either a Hero or a Champion, and the deity that chose you.
Heroes: Descendants of gods, demigods, and immortal heroes of legend, the Heroes have legendary abilities based on their ancestry. A descendant of the Egyptian pharaohs may know magic, while the descendant of Hercules would likely inherit the same physical prowess.
Champions: Ordinary mortals who have attracted the attention of a god, Champions are given relics that grant them powers similar in power to those of the Heroes. The gods choose Champions who reflect their own personalities and realms of influence, so Aries would likely choose a soldier or warrior, while Odin would favor wisdom over an unthinking brute. Similarly, the relics typically reflect the god in some way. For example, Aries would almost certainly give his champion a weapon, while Odin, as a god of wisdom and magic, might give his champion a tome of rune-magic and an enchanted hammer and chisel so that they could perform it.
Character Sheets Feel free to modify these if you think of anything that should be added Hero Name: Ancestor: Specifically, the one you get your divine abilities from. Divine Abilities: One or two, if the two powers make sense together. They should be based on your divine ancestor. No son of Aries was a sissy mage. Appearance: Pictures are fine, but if you post one, that's what you look like. None of this "here's a picture, but here's a list of all the ways I'm not that picture." Personality: I'll accept a very short entry here, as long as you round out your character during the RP. History: I don't need a novel. Commie, I'm looking at you. o_o Notable Belongings: Things like "a katana passed down through his family for generations," or other things that may become useful to the plot line. Other: Shoop da woop.
Champion Name: Patron: (Or matron) The deity who chose you. Divine Relic: Include the item's description and the powers it gives you. Delete it if you can't think of anything. Other: Shoop da woop.

Characters:
Twisted - Nassor Ur Sabek, descendant of Set Name: Nassor Ur Sabek, goes by Sabek. Ancestor: Set, Egyptian God of The Desert, Storms, Chaos, Darkness. Divine Abilities: Inner Storm: Sabek has inherited the divine ability to summon lightning from within himself, and channel it outwards in devastating attacks. They can be charged bolts fired from his body, or he can simply electrify himself and send deadly static charges throughout his body and whatever he's touching; including his weapons and individuals who touch him. When charged, Sabek can move much faster than regular humans. This ability also grants him immunity to all electric based attacks. Fog of Blindness: Sabek spews forth an ungodly ball darkness from his mouth, which explodes outwards, quickly filling an area as large as 100 yards in diameter and extends into the sky 50 feet. Everything within the blackness is entirely blind, no light, even from the brightest source can penetrate the darkness (not even his own electric/lightning based attacks). Sound is also muffled, as if the sounds are being heard through a thick layers of clothing or a wall. Sabek is unaffected by the darkness. Appearance: Sabek Standing nearly 6 feet tall, Sabek is rather imposing, even if not solely for his height. He's a very determined and angry looking person. Dark tan skin, and pitch black short spiky hair. His body is very masculine. He's outfitted with scale armor. Personality: He's not exactly the nicest person. It'll develop in the role play. History: Little is known. He makes no friends, nor does he reveal anything other than the fact he is a direct bloodline decedent of the Egyptian God, Set. He's very proud of it. Notable Belongings: Twin Khopesh Three feet in length, they are razor sharp and crafted from an unknown ancient materiel said to be used by the god Set himself in battle to defeat his brother Osiris. They are unbreakable and highly conductive to electricity. They have been passed down through generations of Set's descendants. Scale Mail Form fitting scale mail that is unbreakable and legend says that the scales forming the armor were once the scales of a giant serpent in the Desert's of Egypt that Set destroyed.
Blue's two characters Astrapi-Hudo Smith, descendant of Poseidon Name: Astrapi-Hudo Smith
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Ancestor: Poseidon; Greek God of the Sea.
Divine Abilities: The power to call forth powerful storms, as well as ultimate control over all things water.
Appearance: Astrapi is a brown haired girl who stands at 5'5. Her eyes are of a deep cobalt blue colouring and her skin is an olive tan due to both heritage and a daily trip to the beach. She's got a lot of fight in her and is a fitness junkie. Her favourite things to do are surf and work out. She has the subtle beginnings of a six pack beginning to show on her torso, but the last thing she wants is to look overly buff. Wouldn't want the guys to know that she could kick all their butts now, would she?
She has a lot of outfits, but her favourite attire is a light blue sleeveless top that hangs over her midriff but doesn't fully cover it, as well as a pair of gray three quarter jeans and a pair of Jack Purcell Converse shoes.
Personality: Astrapi-Hudo is a girl who hates doing nothing. Sitting around at home reading a book is not something she's into doing. However, she doesn't go out to bars to hook up with guys or trash it up at house parties. She just likes to go hang with her friends doing all that fun stuff that everyone thinks is geeky. Play video games, the Pokemon drinking game, Twister. She'll only ever go shopping if she actually needs something. Astra is loyal to her friends and on the off chance that she does go out to a club with them, makes sure that she looks after them all. She's a responsible girl who knows what's on the line.
However, like her Ancestor (and a lot of his siblings), Astrapi can sometimes get a little crazy. She often has mood swings at the drop of a hat and certainly brings the thunder when someone calls her out. She's not afraid to fight for her beliefs.
History: Astrapi was born into a simple Greek family; It was just her, her mother and her father. They weren't rich, but they managed happily for many years. The girl doesn't have a sap story about how her parents were murdered, or hated her, or that she didn't have friends, or that she was a weirdo. She loved her life, her family and her friends just as they were. Her family wasn't particularly religious, but she had always been fascinated by the Gods and Goddesses that had once been the primary belief system of Greece. Not surprisingly, her favourite amongst them all was Poseidon.
One night not too long ago, the God himself appeared to her in an ethereal vision. She wasn't quite sure if she was dreaming, and therefore wasn't really feeling any sense of fear. It seemed dreamy enough. She listened to Poseidon's words, telling her of the connection between them and how he now believed it time to awaken her ancestral birthrights. He needed her to perform some sort of strange task involving the destruction of a being that was stopping him from making his Divine Return to Earth. Astrapi followed everything he was saying and took it in stride as the dream faded away. When she woke up the next morning, she realised she'd been drooling. As she wiped her hand against the side of her mouth and lifted her hand, she bolted upright when she realised the saliva was HOVERING IN FRONT OF HER!
Astrapi clamped her free hand over her mouth to stop a scream from escaping her. When she rushed down the hall, she ran into her father and knocked the glass of water he was holding right out of his hand. Unthinking, the girl held out her hands. The glass fell to the floor, but the water inside stayed suspended in a glob in front of them both. Her father was most shocked to say the least. A lot of swearing in Greek.
So as it turned out, the whole thing wasn't just some dream. Once both her parents knew everything, they were speechless. It was hard for them all to wrap their heads around it. When Astrapi asked them what she should do, they answered with "Nothing. Just go about your life as it is. This is probably some cosmic event that has given you some kind of temporary ability." But the days turned to weeks, and still she was able to manipulate water. In all forms.
As time went on, Astrapi got more and more frustrated. Finally, one day when she went out surfing with some friends, she snapped.
"WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN?!" She bellowed, raising her hands up over her head. Suddenly, the sun was covered up by dark storm clouds, and loud cracks of thunder rolled across the sky. Her friends were made a little uneasy by this, and quickly started heading back to shore. Astrapi however, was shocked. Did she do that too..? Poseidon really had it in for her... There was no avoiding it. She had to do this; to destroy this thing, whatever it was, so that Poseidon could return. The only problem was, she had no idea where to start looking.
Shoop da woop. Aaryn Dh'owler, champion of Amaguq Name: Aaryn Dh'owler Gender: Male Age: 36 Patron: Amaguq Divine Relic: The Bestial Brace - The Brace allows Aaryn to transform into a giant wolf, reminiscent in appearance to Amarok of Inuit Mythology Appearance: I know who he is, I don't care. Just too much awesome to pass up. Personality: Easy to anger, hard to settle down. A time bomb waiting to go off. He is a beastly man who knows no better pleasure than thinking up ways to hurt people. (will form more of a personality in the IC). History: Aaryn was born amongst a pack of seven other brothers. Each one the same as him. The only difference between them was, he survived long enough to live past the age of 5. To this day, no one can fully understand how he beat the odds. Regardless, that boy grew up and became tied in with a lot of bad people who dwelled in the Underground. His parents disowned him as he turned 18. But he didn't give a rat's ass. He was happy to be rid of them. Throughout his life from that point on, he was happy. Well, more specifically, he was content with the life he'd chosen for himself. There was a danger that at any moment he could die, and he could beat people all day until the cows came home. He didn't take crap from anybody and answered to no one. He couldn't have asked for a better life. And that was when the Inuit God Amaguq bestowed upon him a horrifying curse. Well, anyone else would've called it a curse. In a dream, the Wolf God - of whom he knew nothing about - told him of a Divine Return and the Rising of the Old Gods. Aaryn had no idea what to make of what he was seeing – a man wearing a wolf’s pelt and nothing else - but found himself powerless in trying to get escape this dream. The God grasped the mortal's wrist tightly and spoke some jibberish he didn't understand. And then Aaryn felt his arm grow heavy. When Amaguq removed his hand, there on the human’s wrist was a brace so tight it was almost maddening. "You are now my Champion. With this Relic, go forth and destroy the one who hinders my Return." And then when Aaryn awoke, he was in immense pain. When he tried to cry out in pain, what came out was a howl. He could only watch as his body morphed and grew. When it finally stopped, he was at least 15 feet tall and well... A wolf. The pain had quickly dissolved but, the Brace remained on his front right leg, having also changed in size to accommodate his new shape. The alley he'd been sleeping in had all but collapsed. He was almost disappointed that there he lived in the middle of a ghost town; no one had even seen him transform. Changing back into his human form, he realised that he had also gained newfound knowledge regarding the Return that the God Ama-whatever had described. So he had to find some ancient thing and kill it? Sounded like a good time to him. If it meant he got to keep that fancy brace, how could he say no? Shoop da woop.
Dream's two characters Rúnfríðr "Rúna," descendant of Loki Name: Rúnfríðr "Rúna" Gender: Female Ancestor: Loki Divine Abilities: Rúna is an expert mage. She's a skilled shape-shifter like Loki, and is also very skilled at teleportation. She is also knowledgeable in runes, and can use them for various things, such as fortune telling and being all-together mischievous. Appearance Personality: Like her father before her, Rúna is, in simple terms, a trickster. She loves playing jokes on people, and being all around mischievous. She always seems to have a way of getting herself, and others, into trouble. At the same time, she is quite clever, and always comes up with little bits of helpful information, usually in the form of a trick or joke. History: It would come as a shock to most of the Aenir and Vanir that Rúna even exists. Her birth came at a rather strange time, when Loki was busy evading one of the gods for some random prank, by masquerading as a human woman. Loki managed to fall in love with a human man, and gave birth to Rúna. Unfortunately, he was soon found out, and forced to leave his new family. Because of that, she spent most of her childhood growing up as most demigods stranded on Earth with no knowledge of her god-like heritage do - with her human father in seclusion from the rest of the world. Her father was reluctant from the beginning to raise a child of a god, especially one with such a reputation as Loki, but the child soon grew on him. He soon told his daughter of her rather messed up parentage, and everything began to make sense. Rúna began to test her abilities, and pushed what she could do to the extremes. Notable Belongings: She has a set of Norse runes that once belonged to Loki and were created by the Norns at the beginning of time from Yggdrasil. Other: Shoop da woop. Devin MacNiall, champion of Bragi Name: Devin MacNiall Gender: Female Patron: Bragi (Norse god of poetry) Divine Relic: The norse rune Ansuz attached to a chain that is always worn around her neck. The rune, which stands for, among other things, communication and speech, gives the owner power over words themselves. appearance Personality: Somewhat outgoing, yet strangely silent, Devin is an odd one to be around. She was never really used to being around a large group of people, and therefore tends to shy away from joining conversations. She prefers to instead sit back and observe everything that goes on around her. She's extremely gifted with words, and will often times be found mumbling to herself under her breath. She also greatly enjoys playing music. She can play a variety of musical instruments, and greatly enjoys it. History: Born in the highlands of Scotland, it seems strange that Devin would be chosen as the champion of a norse god, specifically one who doesn't necessarily have an overly impressive skill-set. Upon getting to know her a little better, it soon becomes understandable why she was chosen. Devin's childhood wasn't full of outdoor adventures until the darkest hours of night. No, she spent her childhood around the fire with the elders of her village, learning all of the stories from years past. It was the one thing she loved most of all in life. By the age of 12, she was considered the village historian, and found herself told all sorts of stories. Having learned all she could from her small village, she began to search further, going abroad to hear stories of heroic battles and brave warriors. She caught Bragi's attention one day when she was about 15. She was wandering through the valleys surrounding his home village, when she started putting some of the more exciting stories she knew to music. She seemed to have a natural way with words, and the Norse God found that to be exactly what he was looking for in a hero. Unable to speak with the girl right away, Bragi placed the rune Ansuz on a chain, and dropped it conveniently in Devin's path. She found it, and picked it up. As soon as she put it around her neck, it was as if everything suddenly made sense at once. To say she learned every language in the world may sound extreme, but it would be accurate. She was always good with words, but after that point, Devin became a master. Now that his champion could speak and understand the same languages he could, Bragi spoke to her. He explained to her everything that was going on, and what it was he needed of her. He promised she would always have her word-skills if she became his champion, and who was she to deny the skaldic god of poetry his dues? Notable Belongings: While Devin owns various musical instruments, the one she is always seen carrying is her guitar. It is an electric guitar, though it doesn't need any sort of amp to be heard. Her rune acts as all the amplification power the instrument may need. Other: Shoop da woop.
The Man Formerly Known as Comrade - Seka Sekhiri, descendant of Sekhmet Name: Seka Sekhiri
Ancestor: She is born of Sekhmet, the Egyptian god of war renowned as the greatest hunter of the Egyptian pantheon whose very breath created the desert. She's deeply proud of it.
Divine Abilities: Being descended from the greatest hunter of the gods (the Egyptian ones, but Seka has never been one to pay much attention to that particular note) has imbued Seka Sekhiri with physical attributes that easily exceed mundane definitions of 'superhuman'--when she strikes with full force, it is said even Atlas, who with ease holds the entirety of the world on his shoulders, staggers, and her speed, at least at shorter ranges, cannot be tracked with mortal eyes, though her own perception is more than a match. More than enough to put her on even footing with other demigods.
Seka lacks the more versatile and long-ranged powers that other demigods possess, such as control of the elements or...various more versatile and/or long-ranged powers; and indeed her powers are extremely short-range, extending only as far as her fists can go, or whatever weapon she sees fit to pick up. However, as the descendant of the huntress god, Seka also has a keen, almost divinely gifted sense for tracking targets, predicting their actions, and then acting on those predictions at the drop of a dime.
Appearance: The demigod Seka Sekhiri, spawn of Sekhmet, the hunter god of war itself, could be best described as simply the very embodiment of a warrior, tall, proud, stoic, and strong. She stands constantly at a vigilant, alert stance, drawing up every inch of her seven foot-three inches bulk to full height, with a build that is only fit for a demigod of war itself--which is to say that Seka is above and beyond peak physical condition. Her entire body is rippling with the lean musculature of a bodybuilder, with broad shoulders and a wide, heavy-set body possessed of an aggressive forward lean in all she does. Her skin is a dark sandy tone, and criss-crossed with a multitude of scars originating in the many battles and trials she has faced her entire life in anticipation of the war to come. Sekhmet would not permit a single scar to be healed or removed--each one was to be a reminder of a trial or an enemy Seka had failed to overcome...at least, failed the first time, before she evaluated her performance, analysed her situation more in depth, and then returned to success...not that Seka herself would have permitted those scars to be healed. Each one shall remind her of her failures...and how she subsequently overcame and dominated them. Accompanying her scars are a network of ancient writings that are etched into her very skin, across her entire body, from texts such as the Amduat and the Book of the Dead (which she can recite from memory, but good luck getting her to recite the first word). And, most importantly, from the Texts of Victory--the words traditionally tattooed unto the body of a successful warrior returning home from a hard-fought, bloody victory.
In regards to her facial features, Seka is possessed of dark, angular features. High, sharply-sculpted cheekbones sunder a cold, proud impression into the shape of her face, enclosed around a small, jaggedly pointed nose, under which rest thin, cold lips accustomed to scarring and peeling under the heat of the desert sun, or to chapping in the frost of extreme cold. Set below a low forehead are dark, vaguely almond-shaped eyes of a pitch black hue--steady, calm irises which betray no thought or feeling, no indication of what goes on behind them, only a constant vigilance and determined intent. Her face bears only the beauty of war and death, and she is exactly as pretty as a blood-red sun rising over a gore-strewn field in the wake of a bloodbath.
Seka's long hair, sweeping down at any given time as far as her waist (she immediately removes any excess once it grows any longer), is styled into dreadlocks, slim, intertwined locks of hair like countless slender serpents of Apep hanging raggedly from her head. Dreadlocks were, by Sekhmet's dominance of the Egyptian pharaoh-ship in the Twelfth Dynasty (roughly 1900s BC), standard fare for a warrior of Egypt, and therefore Seka could surely not eschew this sacred symbol of the warriors of Sekhmet's prominence.
However, with regards to attire, Seka is decidedly...less traditionalist. Pretty much, she went with the first thing she saw when she arrived on Earth--which, being that she was dropped into the middle of a death metal concert...you can kinda imagine what she ended up thinking was typical attire for humanity. Not that she minded--all those spikes, all those chains, all the metal, even the aggressive nature of the music...it was all very Egyptian in a way. So she just took it up. Leather battle jackets, ripped up jeans, spikes, the whole works. She still doesn't get why people give her weird looks for it, since it doesn't seem all that unnatural to her.
Personality: To say Seka is a 'no-nonsense' type would be kind of like saying a rock is kinda emotionless. She'd rather speak through her actions rather than through her words...or rather, not speak at all. Words are cheap, and annoy her; if she could go through life not uttering or having to hear a damn word (and she's pretty good at it) then she's a happy demigod. Well, not exactly happy, but certainly content. Seka is not one accustomed to a need to share her thoughts aloud, nor does she feel any compulsion to communicate needlessly with other living things; at best, she sees no point in the act of talking, and at worst, the very presence of a living thing 'wasting' the space around her infuriates her to the point of violence.
Seka has a most impressive ability to go through life with a stoic expression about her face that is as solid set as stone--she's so rigidly and stubbornly in absolute control of her emotional state that it's become her very nature not to laugh at the most hilarious jokes and not to so much as shed a tear at the most devastating of tragedies. She might internally find that joke highly amusing, and she might be, in actuality, be absolutely consumed with sadness over a personal tragedy, but Seka has grown so accustomed to denying her emotions any opportunity to make themselves evident that it seems for all intents and purposes that she really is devoid of emotions (hell, she's so good at it sometimes Seka herself forgets she isn't devoid of emotions).
There's one emotion that Seka, however, has no trouble displaying. There are many consequences of her dogged determination to repress any semblance of human feeling or expression...one of them being that it's phenomenally easy to set her off. With all sorts of build-up over the years lying just underneath the surface, the best way Seka knows of in disposing of all that build-up, much opposed to just expressing herself and releasing them that way, is through the basest emotion of all: rage. Which, in concert with the fact that Seka refuses to give any indication if someone or something is bugging her, results in a deadly combination, especially when she's in an 'I want to brutally break every single living thing within ten metres of me' mood. And when she is pushed even further, Seka will devolve into the mythical bloodlust of Sekhmet herself--in which Sekhmet nearly slaughtered all of Egypt with bloodthirst unquenched. Needless to say, it's kind of a good idea to steer well out of Seka's way once she falls under the Bloodlust of Sekhmet.
Seka is not by virtue a wicked person, though her own ideals often end up completely trampled whenever she loses her temper. As the spawn of Sekhmet, Seka has devout ideals about strength and honour: she refuses to actually fight an opponent she deems to be below her level. And no, it has nothing to do with fairness; she just refuses to burden herself and dishonour both herself and the goddess Sekhmet by dedicating herself to an actual battle with her inferiors. She has absolutely no qualms with destroying anything she regards as a bother, but will never actually honour such a lowly pest with an actual battle.
History: ALRIGHT I'MMA TRY TO KEEP THIS SHORT
Seka Sekhiri was simply born to fight--literally. The whole purpose of her 'creation', her birth as a daughter of Sekhmet, was the breeding of a demigod of war to fight in the name of Sekhmet in the upcoming war--and thus from the very being Seka was to be forged into the perfect warrior. She was not, as many other demigods were, born in the realm of mankind, nor was she immediately introduced to that world upon birth. No--to be born amongst humanity, Seka would immediately go soft. No human-raised being would be fit for war of the scale that the gods knew was approaching. Seka would be raised in the harshest of conditions, by the harshest of warriors, in the brutal traditions of the Egyptian mythos.
And indeed no mercy was spared upon her even when she could barely stand on her own two feet. Sekhmet watched austerely as her daughter was subject to environments of burning heat and excruciating cold for extended periods of time, pitched against foes many times larger and stronger than she was, foes she was expected to outrun, outsmart, and then hunt down, until 'outrun' no longer became a necessity for survival. None too infrequently Seka was wittingly pitted against odds that were literally impossible, narrowly escaping guaranteed death--they sought ways to break her will through tortures physical, mental, and psychological. They told her again and again that if she gave up she could be spared years more of torment--though of course, had she given up, she would have been tossed to the slave pens without a thought--but Seka refused to surrender. She endured the trials even if at first she couldn't figure out for the life of her how she was supposed to succeed; she fought her way to victory in every battle even if she was injured and scarred permanently in the process, and throughout it all she uttered not a single word. Not in all those years did she say a thing.
It might have been decades, for all Seka knows, in which she faced trial after trial, being deliberately forged into a tool of war. But in the end, after all those years, Sekhmet finally put an end to it. Her youngest daughter was fit for war--she was...adequate, for her purposes. And to signify her triumph, her body was made a canvas for the sacred Texts of Victory--she was a warrior of Sekhmet at last. She was fit for the war that was looming over the ancient gods.

Of course through all of that he isn’t opposed to having a little fun. History: Rui grew up a middle class Chinese boy. He didn’t have a very tuff life other then people trying to pick on him, but that never ended well for the other person. Rui never allowed anyone to pick on the weak let alone take advantage of anyone. In the back of his mind the only thing that he ever cared about was helping the weak and or those who can’t help themselves. One night in his sleep he was visited by the god Zhu Rong. The god spoke to him and told him what he must do, normally at first he didn’t believe what was going on so when he awoke he thought it was just a dream. That was until he looked down at his hand and noticed a ring. He wasn’t sure what to do with it, but then out of nowhere he started using it as if he had it his entire life. This fragment has given the revolver many of the same powers as the hammer itself. It no longer requires bullets, and bestows superhuman prowess with the weapon upon the wielder, and though it is not as strong as the hammer, it is as devastating as the name suggests. Appearance: Like his patron, Einar Lang is tall and imposing. Short-cropped blond hair and a neatly trimmed beard, along with his icy-blue eyes give him a very intense look. An easy smile and boisterous laugh stop him from being intimidating, though he has the build to be a very scary man.
Personality: An easy man to like, Einar lives for the simple pleasures, though he takes his responsibilities very seriously.
History: Einar was police officer in Chicago, and other than an extremely Norse name and being a very large man, he seems to be a perfectly ordinary guy. He grew up in Texas, and most of his family still lives there. He retired from police work six months ago after deciding he couldn't deal with all the dirty cops, and has been living quietly in Georgetown, TX since then. Einar has been considering joining the local police force, given the reputation the Williamson County police have for being extremely by-the-book, but he hasn't made up his mind yet.

Nassor Ur Sabek Name: Nassor Ur Sabek, goes by Sabek.
Done. Took a little creative liberty for the weapon and armor stuff. Not a history buff, so I made it up.

Astrapi-Hudo Smith - Complete Name: Astrapi-Hudo Smith
Aaryn Dh'owler - Complete Name: Aaryn Dh'owler Gender: Male Age: 36 Patron: Amaguq Divine Relic: The Bestial Brace - The Brace allows Aaryn to transform into a giant wolf, reminiscent in appearance to Amarok of Inuit Mythology Appearance: I know who he is, I don't care.

Rúnfríðr "Rúna" Name: Rúnfríðr "Rúna" Gender: Female Ancestor: Loki Divine Abilities: Rúna is an expert mage.
Devin MacNiall Name: Devin MacNiall Gender: Female Patron: Bragi (Norse god of poetry) Divine Relic: The norse rune Ansuz attached to a chain that is always worn around her neck.

The Lover Name: Avalyn Gale Lore Ancestor: Aphrodite; Greek goddess of love, lust, and beauty. Divine Abilities: The ability to get any living being to do her biding if touched by her. Any commands given must be carried out, even if contact is broken. Appearance: On the right Originally blonde, Avalyn decided to stay with American trends and dye both her and her sister’s hair a brilliant blue, though often debates changing back. Her eyes are a brilliant blue with long eyelashes framing them perfectly. Her nose is pierced and her ears also have two piercings each, one in the lobe and one in the cartilage. Her features differ only slightly from her sister’s. Her skin is a flawless healthy pale pink from time spent indoors practicing her art. She is quite tall, nearing 5’8”, and holds a slender form, though is rather well endowed with her female attributes. She dresses to her body’s advantage, usually dresses or low-cut tops with skirts and high heels. She always keeps her hair pulled back, drawing attention to her facial features. She keeps up with modern styles and usually tries to convince her sister to do the same to no avail. Personality: Avalyn is the opposite of her twin in almost every way. Her interests revolve around art, music, debate, and persuasion. She wants nothing more than to be her own person instead of living in her older, if only by a few minutes, sister's strong shadow. She loves to argue and persuade, usually getting her way. She is the embodiment of love; beautiful, irresistible, and unforgiving. Let it be known that she is not a spoiled brat. She works hard to get what she wants, using her beauty to her advantage. Though she knows she is beautiful, she is not vain. She does not spend hours gazing in a mirror and does not even use makeup or do much to her hair unless she is using it for her art. She plays her feminine beauty, acting innocent and weak to appear less threatening. However, she shouldn't be underestimated. She is quick to use her ability and is almost reckless. She does not care about consequences and will let her sister clean up the messes she occasionally gets herself in. Avalyn is cunning and quick-witted, but lacks the foresight and focus her sister possesses. Through the resentment, Avalyn does love her sister and would do her best to protect her, even kill if necessary. Secretly, Avalyn wants more than anything to be the warrior her sister is. History: The twins are the offspring of Aphrodite and a British male model, named Rory Lore. She had, as usual, gotten bored of her husband and decided to have some fun. Disguising herself as a supermodel, she seduced Rory and had her one night stand. A few months later, Aphrodite returned with the news that she was pregnant. Rory reluctantly accepted this and allowed the disguised goddess to live with him. There was no way Aphrodite could return to Olympus pregnant. So, she stayed with the model until the day she gave birth. Then, she disappeared, though she could not help but leave behind her name and a gift. Now the model was stuck with twins and horrible rumors of a relationship with a married woman. His career was ruined and he took it out on his little girls. They grew up taking his beatings and despite them, became more beautiful every day. Ryder defended her sister to the best of her ability, taking most of the beatings for herself. Now Aphrodite had two contestants to be her champion. Both were so beautiful, self-reliant, and brave. She almost resorted to flipping a coin until the year the twins turned seven. Rory had fallen asleep with a cigarette and a beer in his hands. Both dropped from his hands and a fire started. Ryder woke to the smell of smoke, woke Avalyn, and led her out of danger. They were almost in the clear when a ceiling beam fell and hit Ryder across the cheek. Avalyn dragged her sister out and into the waiting arms of the medics, but Ryder did not leave unscratched. The left side of her face was consumed by scars, marring her beauty. Aphrodite now had her champion. She waited for the girls to grow into adulthood before coming to Avalyn in a dream. She explained the circumstances and revealed the gift of persuasion Avalyn carried. Upon waking, Avalyn told her sister of the events that transpired. She was taken understandably taken aback. The only reason Ryder had been snubbed of becoming Aphrodite’s champion was because of her scars that took away from the beauty she and her twin had once shared. She became angry, but knew there was nothing she could do. The next night, she was surprised to find the goddess Enyo invading her dreams. She was brash and honest with the scarred woman. Enyo told her that she admired her traits, but she also wished for her to be the war goddess’s champion if only to spite Aphrodite, who was having an affair with Ares. Ryder woke with the Peacemakers encircling her wrists. Thus, arguments broke out among the twins, but they finally decided to fight alongside one another. Other: Shoop da woop
The Fighter Name: Ryder Mae Lore Matron: Enyo; Greek goddess of war, often potrayed as the sister of Ares. Divine Relic: Two silver cuffs decorated by a ruby and amber torch that transform into spiked guantlets or, alternately, a full suit of fitted silver that moves with the wearer like fabric, but is as tough as armor. These are dubbed, rather ironically 'Peacemakers'. The cuffs enhance the wearer's strength to being near god-like. They are also impossible to remove by any except the wearer. Appearance: : On the left Originally blonde, she humored her sister by letting her dye their wavy hair a dark blue. Her eyes are a piercing blue with long eyelashes framing them perfectly. Her nose is pierced, but she does not like it and usually does not wear it, and her ears are not. Her features only differ slightly from her sister’s. Her skin is tanned some from time spent outdoors training. The whole left side of her face is consumed by scars and she usually hides them by wearing her hair down. She is quite tall, nearing 5’9”, and her body is quite toned from her training, but, like her sister, her female attributes are well formed. She, however, dresses for sensibility and comfort. Usually she’ll wear blue jean shorts or jeans and black camisoles for the easiest maneuverability. The only jewelry she wears is her cuffs. Personality: Ryder is the opposite of her twin in almost every way. Her interests revolve around strategy and war games. She seeks to better herself constantly and hates the person she is now. She wants nothing more than to be her own person instead of living in her younger, if only by a few minutes, sister's beautiful shadow. She seeks improvement in her skills as an innate warrior and thinker. She is the embodiment of war; quick, strategic, and deadly. She is stubborn and never forgets a debt or betrayal. She always get her revenge, usually when her victim least expects it. She is, for the most part, the strong silent type and avoids talking when she can. One never truly knows when she is angry for she always has a mad look on her face. She is quick to fight, but is wise enough to know when to hold back. Through the resentment, Ryder does love her sister and would do anything to protect her, even die if necessary. Secretly, Ryder wants more than anything to be beautiful. She hates the way she looks and avoids reflective surfaces as much as she can. I know, but what I was thinking is this.
Loki - The Trickster God - is cheating. Whilst every other God is using one Champion or one Hero, he decides to shift the odds in his favour by having both. He's got something planned that he's not telling anyone.
That way, we can both have the two of them interact with one another and try to figure out Loki's game. Heck, maybe the Ancient Creature we have to fight will already be wise to Loki's tricks and duplicate itself?

Yeah, I saw that you'd already made a Loki Hero.
At first I was like: "Awww!"
Then I was like: "Hang on."
Then I was like: "Yes, idea!!"
And now I'm all: "Awwww Hell yeeeeah! Badaaass!"

Oh Genius? No, I don't think s-- Go on.

But seriously, I'm glad you liked the idea. I was gonna be really upset to have to get rid of Ferrin.

Haha no. i like it. it completely fits. besides. I can totally see the two of them together, fucking around with everyone. and it would be a total Loki move to completely screw over everyone else and break the "rules" by having two.

I can see it too. Though I reckon their first meeting is gonna be intense. Ferrin's the kind of guy that doesn't like getting screwed over, and will always do something about it, as you've no doubt read.
He's gonna be all: "And who the HELL are you? Loki's got a Champion, he doesn't need some washed up descendant. Maybe I should just save him the trouble of destroying you later."
But then thanks to her tricks, they'll be like best buddies within two minutes.

hahaha this could get fun.
i can envision so many really strange, fun scenes between the two of them... ...like her pissing him off by randomly teleporting onto his back, and refusing to come down..shit like that. this will be fun.

Sorry to derail the conspiracy express, but only one Champion per god. It's for plot purposes, and encourages more diverse characters.
EDIT: Okay, so far so good, except for the Loki-duo. There's a shitload of other trickster gods, though. And don't forget, this takes place in the modern era. If it didn't, my character's relic wouldn't work. Speaking of which, I need to go write him up.

Ask me something here, or read my blog, Yelling about Everything. See my duel with out resident Greek Hero here. And never forget, Timekeeper is way more awesome than you will ever be.

I'd say that the two of them are pretty diverse... One's a smart, tricky magic user. The other is a simple, aggressive, brutish monster.

Still nope. Plot purposes. And I did say it more than once. Don't make me eat your face.

maybe if you gave us some sort of hint as to what the plot would be that makes it so important that there's only one, we may understand a little better.

The plot point is that both heroes and champions draw their power from their ancestor/patron, and the gods don't have the strength to spare.
