Piercey smiled. Walking was a lot of fun, especially compared to the alternative. She brushed her fingers absentmindedly through her hair as she stepped closer to him, and further away from the crowd around her. "What's your home like?" Elliot inquired. He managed to find her happy place fairly quickly. Whether that was worrisome or not was yet to be determined. Neverless, she found herself eager to discuss where she was from. "My home..." she started. Once those words escaped her lips, it was as if everything was set free. "I was originally born just outside Chicago, though it would be hard to tell by looking at me now. I went to school there, and it wasn't all that bad, but I never really liked it. That's why I moved." she didn't know why she felt that some sort of explination was necessary, but it was. "I moved to the middle of nowhere in Washington state. "I love my home. It's a small cabin in the middle of a huge forest. It's beautiful there, full of wildlife and flowers. I could honestly say it is my favorite place in the world. The house sits in the middle of a rock face, literally set on a slab of rock carved out of a huge cliff. It looks almost like something out of a fairy tale. The house is set on 10 acres of property, about half of which is occupied by two large ponds, connected with a brook that is always running. "The other half of the property is mostly just forest space. The nearest city to where I am wanted to buy up that land, and turn it into a huge mall, but I refused. I could never let that happen to my land." She stopped, having said just about all she could in a condensed time. Elliot then turned her attention to a nearby building. Piercey looked at the building for a good while, then turned back to him and smiled. She could tell exactly what he was talking about. There was a lot of beauty in the buildings around her, especially the older ones. |

Ayden's morning was dull, even by his standards. His roommate, Joey, had already left for work, so he figured he would just hang out in town until his lessons and work. He grabbed himself a bowl of cereal and proceeded to work out for half an hour. Afterwards he grabbed a jacket and put on some sweatpants. The day seemed pleasant enough to him. He breathed in the air and jogged through the park. He acknowledged his fellow runners with a wave and even ran with a hot blonde woman for a while. Once she left, Ayden took refuge beneath a tree near a water fountain. The rest of his free time that morning he spent walking around New York. Before his lessons, he grabbed a bite to eat. Practice was simple that day. It was just some easy repeat exercises. At four, The kids showed up and Ayden's job began. They weren't a terrible bunch, but they did cause trouble time to time. This was one of those days. One of the boys kicked another kid in the face during practice an hour in. Ayden sighed and went to calm the commotion. One was crying while the other was complaining that the one crying was being too loud and that he should stop because he already apologized. He shook his head and thought to himself, 'Sometimes these kids are such a pain, but ya can't help to love the little guys.' |

4:30 P.M. Shower was cold. There was no shower-head, just a heavy stream of water. It would've been more relaxing if the shower was hotter. How long had it been since he'd had a hot shower? Too long he figured, but just getting clean was enough for him right now. He paid special attention to his hair, making sure to rinse it thoroughly, get all the dirt and excess oil out. Then he worked the knots until he was satisfied. He worked the grime off his forearms with the bar of soap, ignoring the blue tint that was becoming apparent on his skin. When he couldn't take the cold anymore he stepped out of the shower he grabbed the threadbare and faded purple towel and proceeded to dry his hair. Satisfied, he shook out his hair and stared hard into the old mirror above the stained sink. His auburn hair was darkened by moisture, but was dry enough to fall in its odd, feather-like, curly, layers. His hazel eyes stared back at them. There was certain hardness in them, and yet the irises still seemed to be made of some kind of liquid metal. His eyes weren't the only thing, in these short months his muscles had toned up too, become more compact. When he moved his lithe muscels flowed beneath his skin. He smiled with satisfaction He finished drying off and wrapped the towel around his waist and walked out into the living area of the little apartment. "You took long enough." Came the voice of the tatted-and-pierced redhead, dressed only in an overlarge blue t-shirt and panties, on the couch. "Whatever." He replied. "Hey, I let you crash here. What do I get in return?" She asked, her eyes trailing down to the towel around his waist. "I'll order pizza." He answered, she raised an eyebrow. "I'm in the mood for sausage, you know... On the pizza." She said with a smirk. "Rikki, I don't have time for this right now okay?" Shooting down her advances he grabbed his clothes off the top of the dryer. "You're no fun..." She pouted, sprawling on her back across the couch. "How old are you? Like sixteen?" "Whoa, whoa, whoa, boyo, Look who's talking? You know full well I'm 22, which last I knew gave me a 3 year lead on you." "Rikki." "Alright, alright. Just wanted to have a little fun." The 19 yr old shook his head. Normally he wouldn't pass up Rikki's offer, she was hot, and she was his type. Furthermore she was picky, she liked to have fun but she was anything but a slut. He pulled his black t-shirt over his head. He returned to the bathroom and hung up the towel, setting the rest of his clothes on the sink. "Nice ass." Rikki's voice came from the doorway. Not turning around, he responded, "Ya know? You really need to get a door for the bathroom." Behind him Rikki laughed. "And risk missing this? I don't think so." "You're persistent." He said, she smiled still checking him out from behind. "Nah, just horny." Was her reply. "Maybe some other time," making sure to keep his back to her. "I'll make sure to hold you to it, unless you're planning on crashing elsewhere tonight.” Before he could respond she added, "oh and I can see it in the mirror by the way... Nice." She turned and walked out. Feeling a strange mix of pride and embarrassment despite himself the teenager pulled his boxers followed by his jeans on. Rikki was a good friend, but she had terrible timing, today his mind was anywhere but on sex. He stood in front of the mirror, once again examining his reflection. He sighed and pulled his shirt above his midriff it was faint but he could see the beginnings of a mottled bruise on his abdomen. He appreciated that Rikki rarely asked questions, as he had showed up at her place at two in the morning, she had let him in without a word and let him crash on the couch. Maybe she hadn’t seen the blood in his hair. He probed with his fingers until he found the cut. It was shallow and already seemed to be healing nice, although it throbbed slightly when he touched it. He walked out of the bathroom, shaking his still-wet hair. “You were in there a while.” Rikki said absently. “Yeah,” came the noncommittal response. “Hey man, I’ve been trying not to pry, but you’ve seem really out of it. Don’t be so serious okay Will?” He looked up and tried to feign a smile, Rikki really was way more observant than she let on. “Hey, I’m fine.” Rikki shook her head, “whatever man, I’m just saying take it easy… And be careful what you get mixed up in.” Will hid his reaction, he could handle himself- he didn’t need anyone taking care of him… “I’ll see you later Rikki.” She nodded in response, her attention turned back to the television. Will left via the fire escape, climbing down a bit before jumping to the street. He started walking… [5:19 P.M.] He had almost run into them again, freaking punks. But they hadn’t seen him- which was good as Will wasn’t looking for a fight. He switched his tactics to staying to main roads though- alleys were good to avoid. He wasn’t exactly watching where he was going though, so he ran into a pedestrian… Although he couldn’t possibly know it, this pedestrian was James Marden. “Sorry man, wasn’t watching where I was… Shit. Dude, run!” Will grabbed the guy by his elbow. So the punks had seen him, and these weren’t the kind of guys you just messed around with in the middle of a New York City street. Better to run before one of them pulled heat. James would look back quick, see the punks and decide, perhaps against his better judgment. But If he didn’t run he would be shot although he couldn’t know that. Will took off towards central park, still holding James’ elbow. “I’ll explain later, for now run if you want to live.” “Wow, so you’re like- on the complete opposite coast now huh?” Elliot inwardly groaned. He didn’t want Piercey to think he was a tool but… He’d never been that far West before, he didn’t have a clue what it would be like out there. “Your home sounds nice, it’d be a good quiet place to get work done. I mean, I love the concrete jungle, the architecture, all of it- but there’s something beautiful about nature too.” Elliot wasn’t eloquent, but the feelings behind his words pervaded the air. “You know, I’m glad you agreed to come with me, it’s not often I show anyone other than my professors or classmates my work. From there they chatted, nothing of any real importance said. In the meantime Elliot tried to picture Piercey’s cabin. Maybe she had a photo of it lying around. If she did he would love to do a portrait of it. Something she could have while she was in NYC since she loved her home so much. It took another 20 minutes of walking but they finally made it to Elliot’s building. He took Piercey upstairs to his flat and put his key in the lock… The door opened upon a scene from nightmares. The place was ransacked, but not from signs of burglary. There were signs of a struggle. Worst of all there was blood, all over the walls. “Oh… my… god…” Elliot said stunned. “Piercey, oh my god. This isn’t, I mean, I didn’t. Please call the cops.” There weren’t words to describe how horrified Elliot was. Across the room lay a body, covered in blood. “Jake!” Elliot ran over to his friend. He had obviously been dead a while. If Elliot hadn’t know Jake so well he never would have recognized him. It was horrific overkill. Elliot’s stomach turned violently and he vomited. He’d never seen anything like it before, and the image would likely never leave his head. He finally brought a girl home and the flat was a scene from a horror movie. He looked around, the window at the back of the flat was open, that must be how he got in and out. Elliot was too distraught to think about the possibilities but the killer could have still been inside, truth be told somebody seriously needed to get NYPD there, and fast. Piercey scratched her head faintly. She hadn't really thought about it, but she was sort of on the other side of the country. She still didn't understand what caused her to travel all the way across the country, but she was there. "Yeah. Its simply wonderful out there. Unfortunately, there's also not much in way of inspiration beyond the seclusion. That's...why I'm here, I suppose." she shrugged, looking at the buildings as they walked. They soon arrived at what she assumed was Elliot's apartment, and sighed in relief. Seemed they were safe and sound in the building... As soon as the door opened, Piercey gasped. It wasn't every day that you walk straight into a crime scene. It could be considered fortunate for Elliot that it wasn't Piercey's apartment they had been to, because her reactions would be much different. She took a single step forward, her brain already analyzing everything she could see. She looked around, taking in everything. She didn't know what it was supposed to look like before, but she did know what it looked like now. She took in everything, meanwhile, making sure to keep Elliot close to the door, effectively putting herself between anyone who may still be in the room, and Elliot. Was she being protective? Of course, but that was just how she was. Elliot then spotted the body, and ran past her. Obviously, the body was somebody he knew, what's more, he seemed to be a friend. She reached out and took him by the shoulders. "Elliot." her voice was calm, far too calm for the situation at hand. Unlike the young man she was with, Piercey knew how to react to situations like the one they found themselves in. She had paid enough attention when she was a young child to what her father always said to know how to act next. "Come on. We have to get out of here." she pulled on his shoulders, trying to steer him towards the door. They needed to stay outside. Anything they did could compromise the crime scene. While she struggled to get Elliot to listen to her, she fumbled with her phone in her other hand. She got it out eventually, and dialed the police. She told them everything quickly before closing the phone and shoving it back in her pocket. Call her paranoid, but she really didn't feel safe being in the same room where who knows how long ago somebody was quite obviously brutally murdered. |

Elliot's mind was in a fog. ow could this happen? How could such a perfect day be so utterly... murdered? Jake had always been there for him, always had his back since they had met back in Utica. Why would someone kill him? He was probably the nicest guy you could ever meet. Hell he had even helped Elliot rent this flat while they were in college together. Suddenly Piercey's voice pierced the fog around his mind. They had to go. Go? But how could they leave? Someone killed Jake, they had to... They had to do something? Was she calling the police? He looked at her, she was doing just that. How could she be so calm? Elliot was freaking out. Was this not the first time she'd witnessed a murder? Either way in some part of his mind Elliot's admiration for the girl grew. He staggered to his feet, wiping his mouth. "Okay, okay. Let's... let's just wait for the police to arrive? They'll take care of everything right?" Elliot had lived in cities before. He knew bad things happened but things like this had never happened to him before. Inside he was starting to go a bit numb from the shock but he allowed Piercey to escort him out of the flat and into the hall where he sunk down against the wall. "He was my best friend... This is our flat, how could someone? I mean, why?" "Sure thing miss, windows down. It's a warm one for sure." We've got another homicide east of your location. Buzzed the radio. "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Officer Hayley erupted. Three murders? He just got a call about a murder-suicide a block away and now there was a Homicide in a flat. "Okay well which one should I respond to? I've got a possible witness to the Murder-Suicide in the car with me." "Drop the witness off at the site where a detective will take over then respond to the Homocide Hayley. When you get there look, sharp. the killer could still be around." the radio then went silent. Hayley turned to Lyra. Did you catch all that? She nodded. Hayley turned on his siren and drove to where a detective met them, letting Lyra out of the car he then took off towards the other Murder. "I might be home late baby. 5 minutes later officer Hayley parked outside the building. Two squad cars were already parked there, the officers just getting out of the car. "Crazy day 'eh Hayley?" One of them, Smith, asked. "Look sharp boys, no time for speculation." The three officers hurried into the building. There were two people outside the flat, one male and one female. Other heads were beginning to poke out of doors, wondering what was going on. They would all need to be questioned but that could wait. "You two, check the place, be on your guard though. you never know what could happen." Then Hayley approached the two who must've been the ones to arrive on the scene. Elliot looked up, his expression bleak. "We walked in and he was dead. Tell me you're gonna catch the guy who did this?" "Calm down, my name is Officer Hayley, just tell me everything that happened. I'm gonna need both of your statements." He said to the pair. "Jones, when you get a chance I need you to tape off the area." Hayley called back. "Look, my friend got killed by some psycho, somebody needs to-" BANG The sound of a gunshot. "OH SHIT!" Three more gunshots. "Jones, what's going on in there?" "Hayley, jones is down. The perp was still in the joint but I got him." Officer hayley cursed under his breath. "You two have no idea how lucky you are." |

Piercey took a few calming breaths. She knew that she had to stay calm, or everything would fall to pieces. It was more than obvious that Elliot was way past calm, but she still had a chance. She watched as he slunk to the floor in the hall, making sure to close the door behind them. The killer could still be there, and she really didn't like the thought of that. She put a hand on his shoulder, trying to be some sort of comfort to him. She wasn't good at the comfort part. "Yeah. The police will handle it. They'll be here soon." she reassured him, looking nervously around for some sign of help. It didn't take as long as she expected for the police to arrive. As she expected, Elliot was still in a panic. She stepped around him, and began to explain to the police officer everything she noticed when the all-too-familiar sound of gunshot rung through the air. She stepped forward, her protective instincts taking over as she put herself between her newfound friend and the sound. A few shots later, and they heard the news. The guy was still in there, and they got him. Piercey walked over to Elliot, putting a hand on his shoulder. They really were lucky. That could have been them lying there beside his friend. The thought was difficult enough for Piercey, but Elliot lived there. He knew the victim. "...maybe we shouldn't stay here..." she commented after a moment's silence. It seemed somewhat of an out-of-place comment, but that was just how her mind worked. |

5:40 P.M. "...maybe we shouldn't stay here..." Elliot looked up at Piercey. She was smart, reliable and a better friend than he deserved after their short time knowing each other. What she said now made perfect sense but at the same time knowing that the guy who killed Jake was lying dead in there too. "The lady is right. I can take you both down to the station and we can get your statements there." Officer Hayley said, he wanted to check on Jones though, but he knew that wasn't his job. When Elliot spoke, his voice wasn't much more than a whisper, "I want to see him. The one who killed Jake." His voice was calm and even. He didn;t know why but for some reason he felt like he needed to see the man that had brutally murdered his friend. He wanted to see that man's corpse. At the same time a cold feeling settled into the pit of his stomach. The man who killed Jake was dead, he wouldn't have to own up to his actions. How was that fair? How was any of it fair? "Son, I can't do that for you. There's an injured cop in there. Let's just go back to the station." Officer Hayley said, sounding calmer than he felt. There was something strange happening in New York City and it had a body count. Elliot looked up at Piercey, he felt awful for getting her dragged into this mess, there was no point making a scene. "Yeah, let's go... I'm sorry you got mixed up in this Piercey." He apologized, there was no way he could have predicted what would happen when they got to his flat but he still felt guilty that Piercey got dragged into it too. Luck: Piercey and Elliot were lucky they hadn't been inside when the murderer had decided to come out of hiding. Piercey was lucky she hadn't decided to search the flat more thoroughly. If she had opened the door she would have been the one with a bullet in her. Elliot was lucky he had gone to the coffee shop instead of going home. If he had been around when the murder took place he'd be dead too. But were they really the lucky ones? Sure they were alive, but being alive meant they had to deal with the repercussions of the actions of the recently deceased. Maybe the dead were the lucky ones, they wouldn't have to experience what was in store for the world of the living. |

Piercey rolled her eyes ever so slightly, realizing that Elliot wasn't capable of rational thought at the time. Then again, she probably wouldn't be either if it was her friend who had died. She kept one hand on his shoulder, her futile attempt to being comforting. "Don't worry bout it." she commented. "I'm here now. Come on. Let's go with the officer and get this straightened out." she said, her voice losing it's calm composure. The girl had been through a lot more in one day then she was used to. Things were starting to catch up to her. |

"Alright... Yeah, back to the station. Sorry, this is just... a lot to take in." Elliot seemed to snap out of his daze and as he did he noticed Piercey's composure start to crack. He got up and put an arm around her as he allowed Officer Hayley to escort them to the squad-car. Once they were safely seated in the back Elliot spoke to Piercey, "How you doing? I'm sure this isn't the way you were planning to spend your night." Then Hayley spoke up from the front seat. "I'm sorry about this, it's just that this is the third set of violent murders today. Once we get to the station, you might be there a while. There's a lot to be figured out. "Wait a minute. You think we had something to do with this?" Elliot asked in a low voice. Officer Hayley was quick to put down his suspicions though. "I didn't say that but you seem to be connected to the victim and the girl seems to be connected to you, we just want to paint as clear a picture as possible." "Fine, but let Piercey go home. Jake was my roommate. She's has no connection to him." "I'm afraid I can't do that, she's a witness to the crime scene and if you really didn't have anything to do with it I'm sure she can provide you with an alibi." "So now I need an alibi?" Officer Hayley remained silent, eyes focused on the road. Elliot's stomach sank, was he going to be blamed as an accomplice to his closest friend's murder? The sound of feet wasn't anything really note worthy, at least not until he got slammed into. He dropped low, his right hand snapping down low, hovering over the wicked knife hidden in his waist band, while his left hand stayed close to his face. It wasn't exactly a matter of tensing up, but hey, he breathed a sigh of relief when the guy was just in a bit of a hurry. "Ah, hey, no worries j- hoshit!" He wasn't exactly used to being dragged along and this kid caught him off guard when James had returned to his usual standing position. His bag was bouncing noisily against his hip while he kept up a little to the left of the kid, not breathing hard just yet. "Great, now all we need is Arnold Schwarzenegger and a chopper." He pulled his elbow out of Will's grip, not looking back over his shoulder again. His brain was already in overdrive, looking ahead and figuring out the best tactical way to approach the situation. "Get us some thick cover." Heading towards the park, which he was unfamiliar with, they had plenty of trees but not very much actual cover at this point. Reaching into his bouncing bag, he pulled out the compact braid of 550 cord. "They'll never see me comin'." He grinned wickedly as though he were having the time of his life; he looked pretty relaxed but on the inside his heart was hammering in excitement and his body had kicked up the adrenaline to the point where he felt like he could run for hours. All he needed was the edge of surprise and he could get these guys off their asses. Of course, just like anything, it could go bad if he didn't set it up right too. Which would be difficult seeing that the were in a pretty big hurry. "I know this is prolly a bad time, but hey, why the fuck not? The name's James, hope we can have a good Game together." He was a bit weird about it but that's how he was trained to view combat, and this was definitely grounds for the flight then fight instinct. His friends made so many jokes about him being a ninja he just kinda rolled with it, it was a bit true considering how many times he simply appeared behind them; a little trick he'd picked up from his old man playing paint ball. Wasn't perfect all the time, but with how dark it was, a well laid trap with the sudden appearance of a person that could kick ass and take names was grounds for at least a little fun. For James and possibly Will, maybe not so much for the poor S.O.B that got targeted to be Played with. |

Piercey rested her head against his shoulder slightly. This wasn't her plan for the day. No, her plan was to simply spend some time with someone who shared similar interests, talk about art and writing, the hidden beauties of the world. Now, she found herself in the back of a police car, heading off to the station for who knows how long. Everything was so different for her. Back home, every single officer knew who she was, a hazard of living in a small town, and even before that, when she was still living with her parents, she was known by every single one of them, that time because of her father. Not knowing who she was with, or who she was going to see, was just worse. After getting in the car, she looked at Ellliot. "Don't worry. They know you didn't have anythin to do with this. You couldn't." she reassured him, looking at the officer. "And I'll be fine. I couldn't leave you alone anyway." she told him, absentmindedly brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. |

Simple Life, simple times, simple soccer practice. Things were going well. The weather was nice. Some days were just like that. A day can seem totally perfect, as long as you aren't aware of all the horrible things happening. New York was a gritty City, the entire world was a pretty gritty one at that. Ayden wasn't aware of the murders that had been taking place in the city around him. He was just conducting a soccer practice. Ignorance is bliss they say, but you know? One has to try pretty damn hard to stay ignorant forever. On the far side of the feild was a figure dressed in a grey hoodie and sweatpants. Not much could be made out about the figure except that it seemed male and looked to be watching the soccer practice. NYC came with all sorts and the guy watching the soccer practice didn't seem too out of the ordinary. Maybe he was a parent, or just a jogger that had stopped to watch some kids have a soccer practice? Maybe he had played soccer as a kid and was reminiscing? Who knew, but he had been watching the practice for a while and, despite the heat, his hood was up. Ayden was bound to notice the guy sooner or later, seeing as he displayed no intention of moving on. (That's all I have time for now, but I figured Joey's been waiting long enough on this one haha. Anyway once I get home I'll jam out the rest of your responses. |

Serenity hit her alarm hard as it buzzed on her dresser at. Rubbing her eyes she sat up letting the waves of purple and black hair fall over her back and shoulders, brushing over she bed spread even as she sat upright. She blinked slowly as her blue eyes were lit by the late morning sun. Climbing out of bed and sitting at her desk she began with paperwork for the night club. By the time she had finished hours had passed and it was nearly one O'clock. She quickly grabbed her body suit, leggings, shrug, and skirt and went for the bathroom. After a rushed shower, Serenity was out the door and down the block to Joyce's Dance Studio, starting her first Friday lesson at 2. Class was calm and uneventful as far as normalcy. Though she seemed tired compared to usual so she was carful not to overwork herself. As she finished up her third class Serenity stepped into the break room and sat with a few of the mothers and the head instructor, Joyce, and chatted. She was just about to head back out with the girls when something caught the corner of her eye. As she paused, glancing out the window, there by the sidewalk, was Jack's bike. It was common for him to come pick her up. It was even more common on Fridays. You see Serenity worked with four different age groups. Tuesday was the 2-6s, Wednesday was 7-11, Thursday she had 12-16s, and Fridays was 16-20's, and sadly Jack saw this as a double opportunity. Not only did he get a chance at the mothers but any girl over 17 was fair game to him. She rolled her eyes. Looking at the clock she still had 2 more classes, at least 90 minutes. Plenty of him to go threw at least 3 different women. Shaking her head she went back to her class and continued with tap followed by ballet. Around quarter till seven she would slipped on her long jacket and climbed on his bike and head towards the club to start her second job as she always did and sadly ignore her brother's antics once more. On a normal day in between classes she would catch glimpses of him through the observation windows with the other parents always, ALWAYS sitting with a different mother. Almost none of which were ever single. However Fridays would be different. Fridays there would be strange disappearances durning classes. One girl would take a little too long in the bathroom. Another would need to get a drink and not return. It sickened her to know what they were really up to. |

Rolling, blond, curly locks of silky soft hair rolled and twisted around him like Egyptian cotton sheets, the faint scent of lavender hanging around the room, the warmth of another curled tightly against his body. His hand stroked the woman's back waking her softly before seducing and ensnaring her in his lust yet again. As the sun rose his companion left to carry on her day and he to grab a shower. Getting out Jack, or Neon as he preferred, looked into the mirror as it started to unfog. Staring back at him was a crop of messy neon purple hair with shining bright blue eyes and the devil's own grin. He was one handsome, strong, and well toned bastered. He also had time to kill before opening the club tonight, quite a bit of time to kill. After getting dressed and wandering down stairs to the bar he thought about grabbing a drink before realizing it was a Friday. He would need to pick up his sister from her dance class in a few hours anyway, but if he left early he would have time to flirt with the other girls and get lucky. That settled it in his mind. A few class rooms full of beautiful, young, flexible, athletic, and sexy girls in nothing but form fitting tights. Hell, just the eye candy alone was worth going early for, even if he didn't get laid out of it. Not that was likely though, after having prowled that studio for four years he had regulars by now, although the regulars got boring after a while. He preferred the chase, the hunt before getting the prize. Above all though, he loved to be chased, to be the start attraction. He just couldn't help loving the attention. It didn't take him long to get to the studio by bike, maybe a few minutes at worst. After that he did his best to prowl around and flirt with any of the girls that strayed from the class and wink to a few in the class while his sister wasn't looking. She wouldn't throw him out or anything, but he would get a few nasty looks which he'd rather avoid. It took no more than fifteen minutes until he had one of the girls out of class and around back in the changing room, she was 16 tops, but was a fresh face and had been way to easy. By the time he let her go it was nearly time to go home and get the club set up for open at 8 which meant it was time to go round up his sister and see if he could get any of the other girls to swing by the club later. Ether way, he had a feeling tonight was going to be blast, something he could feel to his core, and his feeling rarely disappointment. |

Okay, so New York City certainly does come with all sorts. But people booking through the city streets wasn't the most common occurrence. Sure people were in a hurry, but Will and James were sprinting as were the thugs chasing them. Thugs that were ready to murder Will and anyone in his immediate vicinity, and anyone else they simply didn't like the look of. Is it just me or was NYC just having a fucking ridiculous day? The guy Will had brought along for this unfortunate ride apparently didn't seem to mind it to much, in fact his brain was in much the same place as Will's was. Although... Will's eyes darted all around. Everywhere he looked he saw adequate cover, still cover wasn't going to be of much use in this situation. Will looked over, "Yoh, put the cord away for now. Guns beat string any day, and those guys have more than one gun." Will shook his head, but couldn't help wondering what else the guy kept in his bag of tricks. After all, he didn't seem to mind his life being suddenly put on the line. The James introduced himself, talking about a game. Will took a quick look at the guy. He seemed sincere- it wasn't everyday that Will found a like mind. "Will. Listen, once we clear the crowds they'll have a shot at us. So we've got that much time to get some distance on them." With that Will began sprinting even harder, his mind running over the possibilities. After all, Will wasn't the strongest, or the fastest, but he was the smartest. The park was just ahead, that's where the real action would happen. Suddenly James stumbled but it didn't didn't trip him up for long. Instead it gave him the opportunity to get a glimpse of his pursuers. There were six thugs of varying sizes but they all seemed to be rather fit- still nothing the two of them shouldn't be able to handle. The unfortunate part was that the lead one seemed to be reaching into the inside of his coat... 6:00 Elliot gave Piercey a grateful look. She was way better than anything he could have ever deserved and if she didn't hate him by the end of this he'd be sure to ask her on a proper date... Granted he was able to muster the courage... No, he'd make sure to muster up the courage... At least to get her phone number... So he wasn't exactly the type to go out much, that tends to be a trend among introverts. Ironically... Elliot had been trying to break out of his shell lately at Jake's request. "Thanks Piercey, you've been so nice, you're the last person that deserves to get caught up in this kind of thing." On the other hand, this kind of experience might prove to be the exact kind of thing Piercey's writing needs. Who could say for sure... Oh right... I can. But I'd never just outright say it now would I? Anyway back to the story. Officer Hayley looked at the pair of them in the rear-view mirror and he sighed. "Not the first date either of you had in mind, I'm sure. But we'll be sure to try and get you both out of the station as soon as possible." The girl Jack had taken to the back room just so happened to be 18 as of the previous week. Not that being any younger would have stopped her, Aria had been by no means a virgin. Although the sex had been good, the raven haired bombshell, Aria Evon, felt that it had been simply to easy to obtain. She had been in the class for a while, so she knew who he was. Not only that she knew that he was Serenity's brother. Aria wondered what Serenity would think about what she'd done. Then again Aria wondered why Jack was even allowed in the studio, after all Serenity wasn't even the head instructor. She figured he'd fucked the studio owner. it was funny, there really were two sides to Aria. There was the reserved ballerina that was supposed to have attended class that day... And well... There was the rebellious and sexy Aria that Jack had been able to get a glimpse of. She didn't care that he probably wouldn't remember it but at the same time, the game had been to easy. Then again, when both parties have the same mutually achievable goal there generally isn't much resistance. Aria finished straightening her outfit and made to leave the studio. She wasn't a stalker by any means but she wasn't finished with Jack either, in the meantime though, she had more important places to be. 6:45 The stage was set and the day was drawing to a close. [Faster for some than others apparently.] But don't despair, this is NYC! It's at night that the City really comes to life. And it's at night when the fun begins. [OOC: Times- Kira 5:30, Dream 6:00, Joey! 5:30, Lock&Luna 6:45 Lock&Luna I'm going to be catching the others up to where you are, until then don't let the clock get past 8 okay? After that I want to keep everyone on the same time schedule.] |

Piercey found herself blushing slightly. Damn awkwardness, why did it always have to hit her at the most inconvenient times? She took a few moments to calm herself down, waiting for the red to fade from her face, before she spoke. "Maybe we will have to try this again..." she mumbled, referring to their pathetic attempt at a first date. She would be the one to get tied up in a murder on a first date with a guy. Nothing ever seemed to be easy when she was dealing with the opposite gender. She could only hope that they would get to the office soon, and get the whole thing out of the way. "Sides, if this is quick, we will still have the whole night ahead of us..." the idea of going out into the heart of the city at night always scared Piercey, but she figured she had to get out there at some point. |

Guns did tend to make things difficult didn't they? "Dude, just gotta say, you piss off some mean people. I like it." He stuffed the length of cord back into the bouncing bag and while he took his focus off the running he did a bit of a stumble as the bottom of his foot caught a lip in the curb. He did recover, pumping his other leg forward in a bit of a jump but his head was still down and he saw that their unwanted attention wasn't that far and the closer one was either scratching his ribs or going to pull something out that would take offense with their bodies. "Problem. Don't think they're gonna wait to be out of the crowd to play with fireworks. We don't need to distance, we need to disappear." He did a look around himself and holy shit if they could blend in with the mob of people they'd be golden and since it WAS rush hour. "Detour!" He grabbed Will by the shoulder and redirected them into the slow flow of traffic, sliding over the hood on his ass getting a driver rather angry with him before he started zigzagging through the cars where they were going only about five. "Here's our distance, and there's our disappear." Across the street was the usual throng of people moving in both directions out of work. If they timed it right, they could make it across the street before the traffic stopped and fade into the hustle of the streets. He was starting to feel the burn but at the same time he ached to sprint faster and outrace these punks yet he couldn't leave this person how was sharing their race just to die. Wasn't right. Once they hit the crowds he slowed down to a busy hustle that would match the pace of the people around him, lower himself by dropping his center to a person of average height and whipping his hat off in a random direction to be trampled by the mob of people while moving his bag around to the front of him to hang off his neck and bounce off his pelvis with each busy stride. "How ya holdin' up there partner?" James was breathing a little hard and his whole body felt fuzzy but he had to keep up the pace of the crowd or get gunned down by random assjerks. |

Lyra sat, aggitated, in the back seat of the car, her hands over her ears because of the sirens. When she was finally let out of the car, another detective took over guarding her. She didn't like this. It was too exposed for her. She wanted to be in the cover of trees and bushes, not standing near an alley, waiting to be taken to a police station. She couldn't get past the fact that she wasn't with her friend. Instead, she was going to be interrogated. She looked at the detective responsible for watching her, trying to decide whether or not to try and bolt for central park. There were so many people around, she could easily disappear, never to be see again. She inched away, into the crowd slowly, trying not to draw attention to herself. |

Serentity caught one of her best students, Aria leaving the studio just before her class let out sighing. Jack was still missing too. So much for dedication. The thought of the two of them, or Jack and any of her students really, made her heart sink a little, and subconciously she wondered if it was for the girls' sake or his. She forced the thought from her mind as quickly as it had appeared and tried to force herself into a better mood as they headed for the club. Once they were home, Rave took the stairs two at a time and went straight to her closet grabbing a form fitting leather corsetted dress and changed before slipping into her combat boots and stepping back down into the bar and stopping at the door. the scene she saw when she looked in at what she called her family was so familiar and comforting, she couldn't help but smile. She quietly slipped behind the bar to help Rae finish some prepwork as she watched the disscusion unfold. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It didn't take to long for Jack to run into Rave and rush her on to his bike and make a bee line for the club, that feeling like eletricity running down one's veins just made him want to jump and dance. He KNEW tonight was gonna be a blast, there was no two ways about. Something had to go down and he wanted to be right there cuaght up in the middle of it as the star player to the whole rocking swirl of chaos. "The Neon Lights" His pride, his joy, his wonder, his life's work. His blood, his sweat, and toil all quite to litterally. To him it was more than just a bar, more than just a club. It was his home, his baby, his one true love. Right now it didn't look like much more than a huge warehouse that was gutted and redesigned for maxium space with three levels. The ground floor was left open as possible with nothing around but a few tables near the walls, a small room with a few arcade machines, a stage for whatever need was had, and of course the bar and grill. The second floor was more of a balacony that ran across all of the walls and was filled with tables and booths that offered either a bit of privicy or a great view of the ground level. Above all of that though was the third floor, compared to the rest of the club it was rather plain. Two bed rooms, a huge storage room, a few dressing rooms, and a open space with gym equipment littered around. It was home. Neon sighed happily as he got off the bike after Rave and let his eyes look his club over like a fine woman. It put a smile on his face that just couldn't be beat. Something similer to a kid in a candy shop With that same grin he slammed opened the double doors and strutted on in and quikly servayed his place. The bouncers were near the doors but far enough away not to get hit whenever Neon slammed them open, a few people were walking or running around making sure things were in place and turned on, DJ was already up in her box on stage testing the speakers and lights, Rave had changed cloths and was talking with Rae by the bar, and a little girl was running up to him from the arcade machines with a even smaller following behind. Jack couldn't help but to smile a bit more lovingly. Tennile, the older was 9 or 10, the younger, Adel, 2 maybe 3, both the daughters of the DJ, the youngest of which was his. Long as the place was still closed he let them run around and play in the arcade, after that though they had to go upstairs or home to their older sister. Either way he loved them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "JACKIE!!!!! YOU'RE HOME!!!" Tennile screammed in joy as she glomped his left leg. "Akeeee! Om! OM!!!!" Adel echoed, waddling up at full speed to grip his free leg. "Do you have any quarters?!" Tenn asked as Adel mocked out with "Kourtrrr? Kourter?!" Neon smiled and chuckled as his hands found their way to the young girls' heads and ruffled their hair a bit, "And a warm welcome to you too short stuff. Heheh." At the girl's next line he found his head shaking, quarters, really, was that all he was good for for those two? Oh well, it kept them happy and that was all he cared about while they were around. "Well, I just might in fact." His hand slipped up next to the girls ear and pulled out a quarter like magic as he grinned as he knelt down and handed to her, "There ya go, now have some fun and pester Rae if you need any more, Kay?" The younger sister stared in amazment at the shiny coin as it appeared out of thin air. Tennile quickly snatched the coin, kissed his cheek and ran off as Adel was left standing at Jack's, her little nubby fingers searching her ear and hair for more coins, convinced there must a a hole cove of them just hidden beyond her site. "Now now neon, don't just leave the girl like that. Don't you know to take care of your own? One quarter for two girls? Really?" Coffee teased as he pulled another quarter out of his pocket and handed it to the girl who beamed up at the adnormally large hand before her which could have easily covered her head near completely before taking off haphazardly after her sister. "So one of your usuals this Friday or did you get a taste of some new candy?" Jack smirked a bit as the girls ran off and out of ear shot before turning to answer the big guy, "New candy. Bit small, but she had the thickest, softest black hair you'd every seen or felt in your life with gorgess eyes and hips that could turn a gay man straight. Not to mention she knew what she was doing, kinda hope she turns up tonight." Ah, the babblings of Neon on sexy young girls. The man chuckled, a deep throated rumble that would chill most men to the core but his chocolate brown eyes were soft and a bit fatherly. Then he spotted Rae cleaning a glass behind the bar. "Hey miss Rae I think you miss a spot! Looks smudged to m-" before he could even get the last word out one of the metal tip jars from off the bar was flung at his head only half playfully "If you don't like the way I clean WE'll stand at the door flirting with the hotties while YOU Freddy AND NEON can cook, clean, AND SERVE tonight like Rave and I do!" This was a normal night at the club. Words were thrown, along with cups, trays, and anything else that wouldn't break. Neon flirtted with EVERY woman who looked even decent and/or horny, and Rave did her best to get through the night without anyone killing anyone else. She glanced up at the clock. Five till eight. "Alright Jon. Open up and start'em in." She waved over at DJ once and the music picked up instantly as she watched the two stop the stairs and head into the apartment. Just a normal night in wonderland. |

The day was wonderful, so Ayden had taken the kids out to practice in the fields at the park. Or rather, he knew it would get the kids to be quiet and stop crying. It seemed strange. Practice outside always seemed to relax the little ones. He had brought some water for the kids so if they got too hot, then they could relax under a tree with a bottle of water. He didn't want any of them dying of heat stroke. On several occasions, he spotted a man watching the kids. He couldn't believe what he was wearing considering the heat, but some people were just cold natured, so he shrugged it off and grabbed the waters for the kids. However, he started to get curious and a little worried after a while. The man gave Ayden a strange feeling. After a quick thought, he set up the younger kids in sparring pairs and let the more experienced watch over them. He needed to see what this guy's problem was. He jogged near the guy, but made sure he was out of arms reach. "Hello? Can I help you?" Ayden stood with his arms crossed and kept his eyes on the man, however sirens blared and he looked around for a moment to see where they were going. He didn't spot the cars, but the sound left. He thought to himself that it was strange, but shrugged it off. It didn't concern him or the kids so his immediate concern was the odd man. |

Eliiot flushed furiously at officer Hayley's suggestion. It hadn't officially been a date, I mean Elliot hadn't even told Piercey he liked her as more than a friend. Yeah, the guy was that awkward. What if, Piercey was too embarrassed to even consider a date now? Hold up, they were being taken to a police station for questioning in regards to the murder scene they had just walked in on and he was worried about an embarrassing comment turning her off? Yes, yes he was. To his amazement, though, Piercey actually seemed to go for it. Not only mentioning a possible second date but reminding him that the night was not, in fact, over. Elliot smiled, she was right. The squad car pulled into the police station. "Alright, pile out." Officer Hayley said. He felt bad, these kids didn't seem bad, but under the circumstances he couldn't just let them go. This was just protocol. Elliot climbed out of the car and went over to open Piercey's door, trying to be a gentlemen. "We'll be out of here soon." Elliot told her. They were led into the station where it seemed there was quite a commotion going on. Elliot walked wordlessly beside Piercey as the two were led toward the interrogation rooms. "Okay, are you ready? I'll you'll be going second miss so please wait in this room. You two aren't actually being interrogated, it's just quieter this way." Officer Hayley pointed towards a waiting room of sorts as he lead Elliot towards an interrogation room. A female officer appeared at the door of the waiting room and beckoned to Piercey. "In here miss." Was all she said. 6:05 Lyra... Wasn't very good at stealthing away from a detective on full alert. After all it WAS his job to keep an eye on her. "Hey, miss. Bad idea, with all the killings that've been going on lately you don't want to do anything that'll make you look suspicious." He grabbed her by the arm and led her into the alley. There were police everywhere, taking pictures and evidence samples. There was blood everywhere. "Notice anything today? Anything that could have something to do with all this?" The detective asked. 6:05 "I'll be fine. Worry about yourself." Will said looking behind him. Their little jaunt through traffic really got the adrenaline pumping. Maybe James was a little insane but it seemed like their best bet for sure. Then they would here the gunshot. Seriously? Crowded street, broad daylight? Nope these guys didn't care. They wanted Will dead. "Keep your head down man!" Will shouted as he took the lead, weaving through the now panicking crowd of people. James would get the feeling that if he didn't follow the mobsters would kill him. After all they had gotten a good look at him and were already associating him with Will. Another gunshot. Well the proverbial shit had officially hit the fan. People were freaking out, milling about like a flock of seagulls over a Mcdonald's french fry. “Stay close, we’ve gotta move.” Not that they could really go anywhere to hide, they had to deal with the problem now. After all they couldn’t risk leading them back to somewhere important. Suddenly Will had an idea. A stupid one, but it was still an idea. Meanwhile a stray arm clipped James on the right side of his face, it would probably bruise but bruised was better than dead. Will took advantage of the chaos to turn, trying to blend with the crowd as he made his way towards the ones who were trying to kill him. 5:35 “Oh, I wasn’t going to bother you until the class ended.” The man pulled his hood down and revealed a mop of curly black hair. “I used to be a boxer when I was a kid. It’s a cool thing you’ve got going here. I was wondering if I could get my daughter into your class? And, do you perhaps do an adult level class?” The guy definitely had irish background and even spoke with a small hint of an accent. All around he seemed like a decent, good natured guy. Maybe Ayden was just on edge. He didn’t usually do class in the park and maybe he didn’t notice but a lot of the passerby stopped and watched the kids practice, in fact a well-dressed man walking his dog and a mom with a stroller stopped to take a glance at the kids for a moment. Then they smiled and walked off, the mom continuing her stroll and the man sitting down on the park bench to give his dog some attention. Sure most onlookers didn’t linger but then again the guy before Ayden didn’t seem to have any screws loose. 5:35 That’s life. When you aren’t looking for trouble it usually finds you and when you are looking for it, well you’re apt to spot danger in places it doesn’t exist. But after all you can’t be too cautious. One false step could send you over the edge. But then again if you sit around waiting you’re an easy target. You can’t rush on ahead without danger, and if you sit around something bad is bound to happen eventually either way you can’t win because there’s no way of knowing which course of action is best in any given circumstance. All you can really do is go with your gut and hope for the best. Act now apologize later right? Of course sometimes sorry just doesn’t cut it. ![]() Edited by Poise&Poison, September 10, 2012, 3:31 am.

Apart from a slight blush, Ayden retained his composure. He laughed at himself for being so nervous. "Well, thank you, sir. I am sorry to trouble you. Can't be too careful with the kids in such a large city, eh? I'd be happy to sign up your daughter once we head back to the gym. Though, I am still a student myself. You will need to see my instructor for adult classes. Feel free to watch the rest of our exercises." A smile appeared as he spoke and he encouraged the man to get a closer look so he knew what he was sending his daughter to. He broke up the sparring when he returned and had the elder kids stretch and do push-ups. It wasn't a punishment. That would be silly. They merely hadn't had the chance to loosen up with the younger children, and Ayden didn't want them to pull a muscle. Once they took up their spots, official training restarted. Things went rather well. Even the more misbehaved kids were better today. Ayden wondered if it had anything to do with the man watching them now. Whatever the reason, that day was a beautiful day. Back in the gym, Ayden had the kids go change, and he grabbed the forms for the man. He flashed him another smile and told him to complete the forms real quick. "We will file this away and you will be free to bring her to next practice. I can give you the number of my boss if you like." |

Lyre looked around at all the blood, all the cops. There were two body bags that waited on gurneys for the coroners to take away. She felt her legs nearly buckle with the stench of death. She shook her head at the officer's question. "I'm visiting a friend," Lyre's voice was timid. "Please, I was supposed to be there a few minutes ago. I swear, I haven't seen, or heard anything. Can I please go?" She wanted to get as far from this place as possible. Her friend, Kristina, would be able to calm her down enough, but that was if the policeman let her leave. The smell was getting to her, making it hard to keep her small dinner down. She dry heaved, folding over on herself. |

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff." Larry Nightingale: We've met before. Sally Sparrow: It'll come to you. Larry Nightingale: You live in Scooby-Doo's house. Sally Sparrow: Oh for God's sake, i don't LIVE here.

Piercey watched as Elliot was led one way, and she another. She didn't like being separated, but she knew full well that it was just how they did things. It wouldn't be long before the two of them were back outside, heading off somewhere to do something. She didn't know what they'd be doing, but she figured that neither of them would much enjoy going home alone after that. Not to mention the fact that Elliot probably wouldn't even be allowed to go home at all. Trying to ignore that lovely little fact, Piercey followed the female into the room. "So how can I help you?" she asked as soon as she was in the room. She just wanted to get out of there, and cooperating with whatever bullshit they needed was the only way to do so. |

I'll whisper in your ear, You are mine, and you will never have to be alone. And when I pull you near, You'll know I love you like I never loved anyone. So let me be the one to lift you up, I'll carry you home. 'Cause now I'm here to keep you safe, And to catch you when you fall.

CRACKBANG! That. Was a gunshot. "Fire in the hole! He laughed, but his body tried to do a half-assed barrel roll before he stopped himself, which led to him getting a damn arm to the face! Wincing and grimacing at the hot ache now making itself very much at home in his cheekbone. It was going to suck for a few days to do much of anything that involved his face, but he would rather have that then a bullet any day; pain meant he was still breathing right? Grinning at Will as they flipped around and headed in the direction of the gangsters, James had to admit that he liked this guy all the more and could respect a little bit of crazy. As they headed in the direction of the fruits with the guns, his hand dropped down to his waist and to the hidden egg shaped handle under his shirt that was his 'fang'. He hadn't ever had to use it to open a PERSON before, but this counted as an extreme case where he might actually have to; not fully gripping the handle, just keeping his palm ready to draw the wicked knife in case they did come close enough for him to see just how one of the gangsters liked watching his intestines hang out. Whoa. He shook his head, forcing himself out of the battle lust to keep his head and not do something unneeded or, for that matter, stupid; he had to play the game smart and not just run up and get shot in the face. If opportunity arose, he would put his Silat training to full use by drawing his desperado in his right hand and simply go for the quick, efficient way to eliminate his target. Heart wasn't exactly the best option, it tended to grab onto things because of the rib cage; yay health class and studying anatomy! So that left the diaphragm, the carodid arteries, the eyes, and obviously all of the soft tissue of the stomach. He shook his head again as the Red Haze tried to come down on his eyes, for the time being he just needed to get out of this alive, stick close to this new Comrade of his, and make sure the kid at least got out alive. If he managed to down a gangster or two it would probably be a plus and rid the streets of some filth. Everybody won! |
