Hmmm... Could I join? This seems interesting. I think having one really detailed RP will be good to get in the groove of things again. Plus, I can make a good character for once. x)
You'll have to wait for poise to come back on... which might not be for a while

Sudden appearance making. Who'm I playing? Why, good ol' me!
James Potter
Player Name- Kirakushi Character Name- James Potter Gender- Male Age- 21 Height- 6' 3" Weight- 140 Introvert/extrovert?- A mix of both, mostly extroverted but has some times where he just wants to be left alone.
Sexual Preferences?- Straight and highly comfortable, this leads him to be able to tolerate and perhaps enjoy shopping or other acts that would make others question his sexuality.
How does your character act in romantic encounters?- Actually rather hesitant, while being confident in himself forming a romantic relationship does not come very easily nor quickly.
How does your character deal with romantic relationships? Include how they treat lovers.- Being extremely loyal to a partner is of the utmost important, directly above treating the lover like a goddess. Though he's not overly lovey-dovey, he shows his appreciation in small ways such as gifts of jewelry and things that the partner likes as well as making sure to make time in any schedule to spend lots of personal alone moments.
How does your character deal with their family?- James deals well enough, a small family quickly dying off from the eldest generations on down the line. While he's devoted to family and cares for them he's a touch distant from his mother and aunt who neither really understand him as he's grown long out of their image of the child they've hung onto.
How does character react with friends?- Once a friend is made, they're often held close. Rough housing is expected, as well as a good amount of surprise party time with other friends. In general, he keeps his friends close and tends to keep personal matters out of the way of fun.
How does character react to strangers?- Cautiously, being a misanthrope the initial reaction to most people is that of suspicion if not subtle aggression. He comes off coarse, callous, and an arrogant asshole to those who haven't spent enough time around him so that he could "warm up" to them.
What does your character fear? Specify their greatest fear.- True solitude, being left fully alone with no one around. Becomes worse while in a relationship becoming a fear of not being able to be with his partner (death is excluded in this)
What is their happiest memory?-
What is their worst memory?-
How does your character deal with stress?- He trains a form of martial combat, the main principal is to be relaxed. When highly stressed, he does his best to relax and try to clear his mind so that he can keep his head on straight. When alone he will often go through a few motions just to help clear his head and get thoughts in order.
How does your character deal with intense fear?- Aggressively, he has allowed himself to connect with the animal instincts other people have seem to have forgotten and tapped into the "Fight" reaction of the "Fight or Flight". Fear offers a sort of feral rage for him that casts a sort of "red haze" over his eyes, unlike most people he never "Blacks out" or loses full control but he stops thinking like a "human" and more like an "animal".
How does your character deal with depression?- Most likely his biggest weakness, he doesn't know how to handle depression and is more likely to become agitated with himself. His moods often turn self-destructive and beats himself down when stuck in a rut, it takes a lot of time and a lot of thought to pull himself out of a nosedive but he can sometimes manage it and not become too worn down.
What is your character's greatest weakness?- His outlook, he's jaded and can tend to be heartless in regards to the on going events in the world. More often than not, he wants nothing to do with those he deems less than worthwhile, creating an impression of having a superiority complex. At the very same time he is also vulnerable from the ones he most cares for, willing to do almost anything for them and is susceptible to emotional damage from having stunted relations with people growing up.
How is your character at following orders?- It really depends, if the orders come from someone who is knowledgeable and the order is logical he will follow it so long as it remains within his morals. On the other hand, should the order not logical and will endanger his well being, the well being of someone he cares for, or go against his moral law he will outright disobey.
Is your character a good leader?- In his own mind, no he isn't. He is confident and fair as well as thinks before he acts so it is possible that he can be a good leader with a bit of practice or guidance.
How would your character react if witnessing an armed robbery?- He'd keep his head low, gather as much information as he could while remaining out of sight and turn it in to authorities. Should it be within his power, he would attempt to stop it, but without the right tools or skills he would simply stay out of sight and turn it over to those best equipped to handle a situation like that.
How would your character deal with being mugged?- Sneakily vicious more than likely, especially should someone he cares for is threatened, he would rather die than have them come to harm and will attack if he can. But should he be on his own, he would likely fake cooperation and disarm if not kill the mugger.
How would your character deal with a cheating lover?- Very poorly, because of his loyalty towards a lover of any kind he takes great offense to cheating and will not only wash his hands of that person but go out of his way to avoid them and have no interaction with them. Should he be forced to interact with them he will be cold and blatantly heartless towards them in a polite way and do his best to be out of their presence.
How would your character respond to unwanted advances? Perhaps from the same gender if they are hetero, or opposite gender if homosexual.- For the most part he'd make a joke out of it while rejecting the advances, further advances it would be no more joking and a punch to punctuate his denial. Being comfortable in his sexuality he has no problems joking about with or even going so far to act homosexual but has no interest in the same sex. He makes it blatantly clear that he is only joking so that his manner is not taken seriously and mistaken for an actual interest in the same sex.
What are your character's hobbies?- Paintballing, online gaming, training martially, card games such as Magic the Gathering, puzzles, computer programming, tactical games, wrestling and sparring with friends. More to be added down the line as things catch his interest.
Talents- A bit gifted with being able to pick up languages, slightly flexible in abnormal ways such as being able to put both thumbs down to his wrist without pain.
How did your character do in school?- A rather average student actually, while he was intelligent he did horribly in English but picked up very well in Math classes and programming computers and the foreign language class he took would have been aced if he could remember to do his homework.
Is your character employed? If so, where?- He's a self-employed programmer and certified computer technician working from home but drives to homes or businesses employing his services.
Where does your character live?- Upstate New York.
Why is your character in New York city at the start of the story?- Looking into a job with a company who has need for a technician.
Life Goals (short term)- Have a good job and a good home. Life Goals (long term)- Live a good life and become excellent in Silat.
Relationship status- Single?
Immediate family members- Great Aunt, Mother, Dad
History- While not worst of home life, neither did James have the best of anything. His mother was not only single but struggling in life, still a young woman herself that hadn't managed to graduate high school before having him, James grew up poor and very "hand to mouth" with what he could get. He watched as men came and went in their home, not the best or shining examples of society either.
The calm in the figurative storm is when the man he would come to call his Dad came into the picture. With a question posed by James who had grown mentally beyond his years from taking care of his own mother while only four years old "Are you going to stay or leave like all the rest?". Although the man couldn't respond and the boy's mother was stunned beyond words, time wound on and the man did indeed stay. Even still the life was not great and it was surely hard, as the boy went through school he didn't make friends or even share much interest with most of his peers, his mentality having been changed with the need to look after his own mother.
Hardly improving as the years wore on, his only sturdy figure was the man he called his Dad but soon his nomadic life began once he was old enough to care for himself while home alone. Sadly enough, his mother went through the same cycle she had when he was younger as new men came and went through the households they lived in, using and abusing her kindness. Because of the abuse, his mother moved them around constantly, often without more than the clothes on their backs. Different areas, different schools, different faces, through the years he went through locations faster than he could comprehend and eventually just stopped caring or even trying especially after his family started to die off starting with his Grandmother.
James became jaded, hateful, and despised all he came into contact with in his teenage years; lashing out his frustration at those who invoked his ire at even the slightest provocation. Having only had his Dad's influence infrequently, James' problems worsened as he aged and his body became stronger with the onset of puberty and his Dad was moving across the states to his own birth home. Once he was gone, James prepared his nosedive into a live filled with violence that he'd been steeped in for fourteen years without a friend and only one person that cared enough to try to give him a hand who was now gone.
Relief came in the form of a proposition, he was to live with his Dad and Grandmother in New York finally. He eagerly, if not demanded to go when it came up, and within a few months the angry young teen was put on plane to begin his trip to betterment.
Finally, he knew what stability was, and although he still had to put up with the abuse of his peers in school it was bearable with a safe home to return to day after day. True, he had his outbursts of violence but as the years wore on he mellowed out as he was taught what being a proper man was all about. His Dad taught him self-control, how to direct himself, and when to unleash the "Beast" within from his own experience of dealing with the "Rage".
Between the stability his new home offered and the years of guidance, in his Senior year James was confident in who he was and felt very much the man he was supposed to be. He was courteous, if not politely friendly to strangers even if he still was suspicious and wary of them, and all the more comfortable with who he'd become and how he had taken full control of himself. It was in this time that his Dad got him into the combat system of Silat with a friend of his from work, all three of them grew close in the months while James went through his final year of school and the young man's path to betterment continued by refining his skills.
His coming of age, the acceptance and the fact his Dad viewed him as a ready adult came along with the gifting of blades. Two Cold Steel Desperado blades, and later down the line a Braveheart Bootknife from the same company were given to James who had proved that he had the understanding of when and how to use them as well as the self-control to know when not to. He was also given a sort of cargo bag, the starting to a readiness kit for all situations. Within was a fifty foot long strand of 550 cord, a vanity kit consisting of a comb, a nail file, two small emery boards, nail clippers, small scissors, a cuticle trimmer and tweezers; a fire starting kit containing two books of damp resistant military matches, a bar of magnesium, and three trioxane tablets along with a Vaseline coated cotton ball. A sewing kit, compass, lighter, binoculars, a few medical supplies such as gauze and sterile pads, a palm sized mirror, and a Gerber multi-tool, and back scratcher all contained in the bag.
Not only did his Dad give him the items, but he also drilled into James' head the multiple uses of them from the man's own military outlook. He wanted his son to be able to survive anywhere with the kit's use, though most of the contents see much less use than others James often goes through and reminds himself of what the kit is for; even surprising people by fishing into it and pulling out what people ask for.
With his education completed, James intended to return home with his betterment, ready to find a job and get more education to continue his life forward. He returned "home" only to find that he had left the place he'd grown up still held no promise for him even with his mother having broken her cycle. Spending nearly two years trying to find a job in a failing economy depression began to set in and James felt himself beginning to "rot"
Unable to break out of the cycle of depression with no prospects of employment, he looked to the military just as he was making a visit to the place he'd called home for four years. The difference in feel was astounding, instead of just visiting, the young man felt as though he'd returned home properly and after a month of self-debate, he decided to stay in New York.
From there, things finally started to look up despite being turned away from the military; he got into college and became self-employed so that he could work with the computers and technology he loved, his knack for programming and knowledge of internal hardware giving him an edge in the field he could manage a living that while not rich, he enjoyed to the fullest.

Sorry to keep everyone waiting. I have a post that is quite long in the works. It's saved in MS word right now but I am too exhausted to finish it tonight.

Yeah, i'll do my best. You're gonna have to deal with my pace though. This is all about quality, not quantity. I would rather have 4 great posts a week than 7 mediocre ones.
And I need to add again that I am in college and have quite the workload.
I understand... and just try to ignore me... i'm not the most patient of people

I really do apologize for the slowness. I'm swamped as I'm already beginning to prepare for finals. I still have a midterm to do and holy shit do I have some projects and essays I'm working on. HOT DAMN!!!
In essence- I will be working as much as I can during spring break. But I also intend to be able to sit back and relax some. I have some posting to do and a girlfriend in desperate need of some good lovin'.
So starting tomorrow my schedule opens up a whole fuckton.
