Ri'lirr - Shader Shadeling Character Name: Ri'lirr "Ri" Kathem Race: Shadeling - Formerly Star Elf Class: Shader - Formerly Manasii Age: 155, but she's been that age for about 300 years now. Gender: Female Physical Description photo Ri is a sorry sight for most to see. She stands at about 5'3" and is approx. 107 lbs. She has a sad appearance, which makes many feel sorry for her. They don't usually realize right away why she appears as such. She has short blonde, nearly white hair that always hangs in front of her eyes. Her eyes, are a dark grey color. Looking very closely, the smallest specks of blue can be seen, hinting at her former eye color. Despite her depressing look, she is quite beautiful. Even after death, her beauty could not be hidden, only changed. As far as clothing is concerned, she always wears darker colors, mostly black. This, however, is a personal choice. She feels more comfortable when she can blend into the background. She almost never wears skirts or dresses, preferring more practical clothing. Personality: Ri is a quiet individual. She has been her whole life. Her existence has been a lonely one, and because of that, she has become very used to being alone. Her death only worked to enhance that aspect of her. She is friendly, once she gets to know someone, but that is hard for her to do. While she is very wise for her age, she is often looked down upon as a child. She's always felt somewhat disconnected from others, even of her own species. Even now, she feels as though she cannot quite connect with the other Shadelings the same way they all do. She usually hides out on the outskirts of society, watching everything, but usually not getting involved. She spends all of her time with her shadows, where she feels truly at home. Bio: Growing up, Ri had a fairly normal life. She had a family who simply adored her. She was the child they always wanted, which is what made her nature so much more heartbreaking. Her parents were both Winter Elves, and she was fully prepared to join them as such. She looked just as they all do, and even had many of the same attributes. It seemed the logical choice. So, when Ri woke from her sleep without having bonded with one of the seasons, everyone was completely taken aback. Ri's parents thought it was because they did something wrong. They feared that they had somehow angered the seasons, and because of that, their daughter was shunned. They were horrified, but she was even more. She felt rejected, unwanted, and that feeling began to consume her. She left her family to live with the other few Star Elves that currently existed, though she never fit in there either. Having been rejected by everything that was familiar to her, the now even more beautiful Elf became more secluded. She began to rarely ever come out of her house, preferring instead to sulk among herself. It took a good amount of time before she came to terms with who she was, and began to come out into the world. She began finding herself able to do things that she could never do before, and it was a small speck of light in her darkened world. Retracting into her house as a nervous, depressed girl, Ri came back a powerful, yet still reclusive, woman. Her mental abilities grew tenfold from the time she became a Star Elf. She was extremely skilled, and it was that skill that gave her something to live for. It was also that skill that brought about her ultimate downfall. Everyone was fascinated by the young Elf who could move things with her mind. Fascinated to the point where they simply HAD to know why. They began watching her, and eventually, they tried to take her and study her more fully. She refused. Ri had just found herself, felt free for the first time in her life, and she wasn't about to let them take that away from her. So, she did the only thing she knew how to do. She ran. Unfortunately for her, nothing is forever. As her mental abilities increased, those of her physical body decreased. She didn't whither in physical beauty or appearance, but her body weakened none the less. One day, her body suddenly died. She had worked her mental abilities to the point where they expanded past her physical body, leaving it behind. She was no longer alive. Yet she wasn't quite dead either. Still able to effect and manipulate the world around her, Ri became one of the rare creatures known as Shadelings. Through much practice and trial and error, she learned that, while she could no longer manipulate things the way she could before, she had gained the ability to form shadows to her will. Embracing the destiny that seemed to be unavoidable, Ri became hardly more than a shadow herself. She has grown to love the way she is, and feels truly at home with the shadows that are now as much a part of her as anything. Languages: Jasac, Prithvayan, Kamarasi, and VERY little Lowric (what she learned in the short time she knew Shail). Weapons: Ri doesn't fight with weapons of the physical sort, at least not in the way others can. While she doesn't use magic or steel to fight, she does use something quite effective. She uses her shadows. Even still, she much prefers running away from a battle to fighting. Powers: ~Black Bolts: Combining the telekinetic aspects of her former life along with her new grip on shadow power, Ri is able to project condensed shadow bolts out of the surrounding dark energies and make them physical objects with which to assault her foes. An almost unblockable attack, her streaks of darkness can pierce sheets of thickest iron, and she has limited control of their form and speed. ~Shadowshell: Pulling in the darkness surrounding her, Ri may shield herself and her allies in a protective cloak of darkness which can both hide, heal, and hinder her foes. While in the shell it is very difficult to affect her and the regenerative mist of darkness surrounding her suffuses her with its own power. ~Nightmares: Combining the mental energies and the shadow energies, she may project images into the dreams of sleeping people. Ri may distort them in any way which may seem within context of what their fears may be and, if successful, she may have opportunity to control them in their panic and fear. Armor: Armor is much the same to her mind as weapons. The only armor she feels that she needs is the ability to hide, which she can do quite well. Therefore, she chooses not to wear armor. Other Possessions: Ri doesn't own much. She doesn't really want anything. Other then the clothing on her back, she owns 57 gold pieces, 18 silver pieces, and 4 copper pieces.

Character Sheet
Character Name: Sa’ritae Tyrundlin (Tolkien Elvish Translation to ‘Burning Love’ and ‘The Kiss of a Loving Mistress’)
Race: Summer Elf
Class: Svamanirii
Spoiler: click to toggle Love. Seduction. Attraction. Power. The Summer Elves know more than many the energy of love and the potential it has. The Svamanirii are love scientists, experts in the art of seduction. They are the joyful summer fling, the body of the forest herself. They can entrance a person and never let them go, charm dozens of men and women and take them under their thrall. Some say the bows they carry are poisoned with love, able to make those struck by their arrows fall under their sway. They are pleasure experts, and know how to tend to the growth of love. Mistresses and masters, the Svaminirii grow as their love grows for another. They seek the joyful playfulness of new love, and revel in its honeymooned grasp.
Age: 217, which is quite young for an Elf
Gender: Female [Open to straight and homosexual relationships, if not multiple romances and encounters – kind of necessary for class]
Physical Description: Summer seems to radiate from the form of Sa'ritae, no matter the weather or the location. Her cheeks and chest are constantly flushed a delicious pink, even when cold or afraid - startling against her otherwise flawless, pale skin. Light appears to reflect of her body; dazzling in the open rays of the sun, and haunting in the darkened crevices of the forest and the underground. The florescent texture of her skin makes it difficult for her to hide in darker, barren spaces, though she rarely adventures into the 'dead' regions of the world anyway. Her long, sweeping brown hair is never tangled, no matter her physical exertion, and she never seems to sweat in the heat of day or the excitement of battle; always her soft beauty is preserved. Her large, brown eyes are enchanting to look upon, reflecting a certain playfulness that only a Summer Elf can capture within themselves. Her movements are graceful, and she appears to always be dancing and swaying as her body flows about the forests, meadows and thickets of the Elves. Elegant to look upon, forever smiling shyly and constantly radiant with warmth, Sa’ritae is gently beautiful, and quite amazing to behold.

Personality: Sweet, playful and charming, Sa’ritae is everything a Svamanirii Elf should be. Her smile ever present, she brings happiness and a sense of warmth wherever she goes. Forever staying positive in her outlook, she is first to rush in and nurture those that are wounded, to offer her soft shoulder to those whose hearts are bleeding, and fill the air with melodious laughter when life becomes difficult. Dancing and skipping about with a childish, carefree grace, often singing aloud or breathing beautiful poetry, Sa’ri is the epitome of Summer, enchantment and the loving spirit of the Svamanirii. But there is another aspect to her personality that permits her the class she embodies; her child-like, loving and sweet nature has a seductive side. Coy and cheeky, Sa’ritae can seduce the world around her to her whim with the flash of a quiet smile and the wink of a gorgeous brown eye. Her musical voice and her fragile femininity make her irresistible to man, woman and indeed the forest itself.
Bio: From a young age, it was obvious that Sa’ritae was destined to be a Summer Elf. Even upon the turning-age of 50 years, she still maintained her childish ways and her playful mannerisms. The decision was quick, and surprised nobody; she emerged an obvious mistress of the earth, her features and her very being a reflection of summer, of love, and of romance. Immersing herself in the carefree arts, Sa’ri studied and played with song, dance, art and poetry, favouring the oriental sounds of the wooden flute and the slow moving styles of the gypsies that passed in caravans through the Elven villages from time to time. Nourishing the soul with her creativity, working what seemed to be magic with her art, Sa’ritae earned a solid reputation was one of the most delightful and refreshing Svamanirii of the Summer Elves. All the while, she honed her skills as an archer – as all Elves should – and developed her acrobatic movements for both combat and dance. .....Raised and mentored by the older Svamanirii and various Summer Elves, her love for nature and the natural world around her grew. Over time, she learnt to feel the life within the trees, the flowers, the springs, and indeed the world itself. Enchanting her way through the woods, she spent much of her time adventuring through the forest, speaking with the trees and building playful friendships with the forest. And just as she mastered the art of seducing the natural world around her, so too did she learn to enchant and entrance the beings that thrived with her. Dancing, singing and laughing her way into the hearts of others, Sa’ritae grew into a beautiful, graceful and truly magical young woman that was desired by many and wanted by all who knew her. Seducing men, women and elders, she became a cherished member of her community and able to adapt and assimilate easily with any group of people she stumbled upon. .....But she has heard the world, and its heart is broken. The people it provides for are fighting, wounded, and the forest weeps and mourns at the slow death of the world. Things are worse than ever, and the forest knows it. And Sa’ri knows too – she can feel it in her fluttery, child-like heart. She now seeks what she believes is the answer to the pain of the world – the restoration of the once Mighty Dragons, and the last remaining clutch of their invaluable eggs.
Languages: Prithvayan, Kamarasi and Primic.
Weapons: Like most Elves, and indeed all Svamanirii, Sa'ritae carries a finely crafted bow with her, accompanied by a quiver of pink feathered-arrows. No enchantment or charm exists upon the quiver, but Sa'ri is able to fletch her own arrows when required. Like any Svamanirii, her arrows are 'poisoned' with a very peculiar potion. Whoever is struck by her arrow is paralysed by love, and if by chance the arrow has not struck a vital organ, the enchantment of the poison will render the enemy unable to attack her as they fall under a spell of love; no person under the affects of this potion can find it in themselves to harm Sa'ri, though the amount of time the potion last varies from creature to creature, greatly dependent upon size and dosage. Her skills with a bow are unimaginable, with over 150 years practice. She rarely misses her mark. Besides the weapon, Sa'ritae is also moderately skilled at hand-to-hand combat, in particularly combined with arrows as a hand-held weapon, used much like a feeble dagger. This is obviously not a mastered skill for her, and close-up combat is not her strong suit. More importantly however, she possesses acrobatic skill that allows her to dodge and parry her way out of a situation, often with sweet mocking laughter.
Armor: On the inside of her clothing, Sa'ri has had sown an extra layer of material that is embedded in Mithril; a metal stronger than steel, but lighter and more maluable than any other material available for the creation of armor. Outwardly, she seems quite frail and unprotected, but in reality she is coated entirely in the strong, defensive ore that shields her from most minor blows. Her chest, face, neck and upper arms and upper back remain laregly vulnerable - the expense of free and flowing movement.
Other Possessions: Sa’ri is not a wealthy being, though she has enough to get by. Rather, she prefers to live off the earth she nurtures and loves, capable of finding her own way through life without materialistic objects like most Elves can. Sa’ri has elected to carry 10 pieces of gold, 15 pieces of silver and 7 pieces of copper with her for the journey, not wanting to burden herself with too much gold for the journey. Like all Summer Elves, she has great passion for music and dance, and also carries with her a wooden flute with intricate Kamarasi carvings that she plays incredibly well. She is capable of playing a wide array of melodies for all occasions, but is particularly skilled at soothing, ‘summery’ melodies that enchant those around her with the sweet sounds. Finally, Sa'ritae carries with her a large vile of the love-poison she uses to dip her arrows in. While each arrow is coated in only a drop or two, she is able - if requird - to brew more potion on the road if necessary, and provided the ingredients are readily available.

The closest thing to a common tongue, Jei, would be Lowric, but even that doesn't cover all peoples. To be honest, it's somewhat like our world: sure, English is prevalent, but there are still a lot of places where it is not. Dwarves, for instance, are linguistic shut-ins much in the vein of the French. They are loathe to even learn outside languages and even invent their own (like the cursing language) to further confuse people. And elves keep discovering new ways to talk to the trees (stupid fairies) so the linguistic barrier can sometimes be a difficulty. Back in the time of the dragons things were more unified, but with peoples being so about individualism it's gotten somewhat muddled and I'm now going to add this onto the language section to help explain that. Haha.

Also, some interesting facts about the OOC: -This is the 1200 view and the 104th reply and it was technically just opened today -The text in my first posts when put into a word document is roughly 70 pages long using 14 point font -I have spent 36 days putting all the necessary OOC info up and I still haven't posted anything about dragons -The amount of time alone today I've put into this is over 8 hours with that being about 8 times that or so put in overall
Just gonna keep this here so I can track things.

-.- Ugh, had I not been working on my 360 all say, I would have seen this earlier and been able to start my character, now I must wait yet another day until I can wake up and write it. Oh well. He'll be up tomorrow.
I have a few questions. Where does my history stop? Like, where am I supposed to have my character end up being? Is he one of the knights questing to save the last of the dragon eggs, or what? I'm tired and can't really process all this right now, so I'm just asking. And... As a Shadeling Murk, can my character manipulate himself into a weapon, or part weapon? Say, turn his arm into a sword, or, fingers into spikes, etc?
Regardless of form, can he still speak as a human/whatever, or no?
Eh... I'll probably think of something else to ask tomorrow, I'm tired.

I have to do so much reading.
I never even kept track of this OOC. It's kinda discouraging. I don't think I'll end up joining.

Juice, you have orc and goblin classes listed twice. The irregularity is in or just under the human classes.
Okay. I have tomorrow off, and as soon as I'm done cleaning house I can come up to campus and post my guy. So, wait for meeee!
Oh, and are we level one to start?

Taken care of Myriad, thank you very much.
Character progressions are looking really great. I'm actually really happy to see things like this come alive. Haha.
Once you guys get the sheets worked up, I'll give you your powers and abilities. They're your basic attacks and special attacks, whose damage I will track myself against others, so no worries there. But you will get new abilities depending on the character.
In case you were wondering. Haha.

Ok, thanks. Now I start. *cracks knuckles* LES MAFAUKING DU'ISUP!
Edit: Does this sounds like a good character idea:
Man has terminally ill wife put into a suspended state to allow him more time to find a cure for her. In his quest for that, he is killed. Due to his strong ties to his wife, (at least that's the reason, he believes) he lives on as his shadow. In this happening, he thinks that maybe it is possible for his wife to become so as well. In a quest to find his wife's "cure" and ticket to immortality with him, he tries to find a way to have her become a Shadeling as well. He doesn't see being one as a bad thing, he sees it as a way to be together with his love without an end. Because if he doesn't find a way, she'll die even if she's cured of her sickness, just from being a mortal human, and he'll be left to walk the planet alone.
EDIT: Are the Shadelings immortal? You said their existence seems endless. And having them be able to to change into mist and at the same time able to form weapons of their bodies, it seems they can control their bodies tangibility. Does that mean they can wear clothes if they choose?
Can they NOT be killed? Like, if someone swung a sword at them, would it just go through? Are they 3 dimensional, or are they just crawling across surfaces like a real shadow would?
So many questions, sorry. I just don't understand some things about them.

i think that, since the Shadelings are -technically- already dead, it would be highly unlikely that they would die again.

The background sounds good. You could probably travel to the elves to get her put into that sort of state. A Vunari could also probably do it. Just some options for fleshing that out.
And the answers: Yes. Yes. Yes. That is one option. Both.
Haha. Hope that helps.

My sword wouldn't go through them... Then again my sword doesn't much mind the laws of physics.

But you can't disobey physics. It's the law.
And yes, I am joining this. I just need to get the time to work on a profile. Most likely this evening.

I also want to note that there are some things I won't tell you in the OOC, and that I can't actually tell you too much about since they're in character discoveries I'm planning. But I think I've pretty much answered every question, so we're good.

Rafti the Ildari Breaker Character Name: Rafti Race: Human - Ildari Class: Breaker Age: 26 Gender: Male
Physical Description:
Standing at a height of six foot even Rafti is rather tall for his people, though his tall stature is more than likely from when he infused his Darima into his chest. Along with the increase in height Rafti's body has been changed into one of efficient power. His build is extremely athletic despite his slight appearance, this gives him the benefit of being underrated when it comes to battle especially when wearing his coat made of dragon skin which only adds a slight look of bulk to his frame.
As far as what he usually wears Rafti is one for the refined but convenient, preferring to wear a dress shirt and loose pair of slacks. Over that he wears his normal dragon skin jacket. The jacket is a deep blue that has been embroidered with a golden silk. Strapped to his back is the Dragon Bone Sword and on his head is the hairband of dragon fangs which give him an overpowering look.
A small side note, with the fusion of his Darima to his body the immense power that comes with that fusion has affected Rafti's eyes causing them to glow a smokey grey much like the color of his Darima.
Personality: A solemn man Rafti prefers to keep to himself and avoids crowded areas as much as he possibly can even though some of the best information comes from areas like that. Since fusing with his Darima Rafti has always felt different from others, not like he was on a higher or lower plane than them but rather that he was an entirely different entity that had no real place on the world yet. This difference Rafti feels between himself and others has caused trust issues to form within his mind and keeps him from opening up to most people.
These trust issues though are not allowed to get in the way of Rafti's goal, if Rafti knows for certain that a step in accomplishing his goal can come from working with questionable people he is more than willing to ignore his feelings and follow his logic instead. Cool and calculating would be one of the best ways to describe him and the attention to detail that comes from his past in art definitely don't hurt either.
Bio: From birth Rafti has always been a bit different from most Ildari. While others were out tending to the fields, Rafti remained cooped inside his room staring at the 'soul' he had been blessed with. The smokey grey color entranced him, almost consumed his thoughts entirely. If it weren't for his parents' constant meddling the fate he would eventually come to know might have come much sooner. As it was though his parents ever concerned with the strange actions of their child made it a goal to have Rafti at least become somewhat normal if he were to lock himself in his room. The understanding the family had come to was that as long as Rafti would paint and sell the art he could remain in his room and to his own devices. It was a simple enough condition and the twelve year old Rafti was more than glad to take the offer.
For four years Rafti painted the images in his mind that he thought others might enjoy and while initially his paintings were slow to sell they grew in popularity at least briefly and he could revel in the fact that his art wasn't terrible to those that bought it. Now at the age of sixteen his mind began to wander, wander back to the Darima that had enthralled so much before. Remembering his feelings from before Rafti turned to attempting to capture the beauty he saw in the Darima, but to no avail. Consumed by his failure Rafti's mind came to the conclusion that if one were to capture true beauty they must become one with their subject, the subject this time being his Darima.
Implanting the Darima into one's body is both excruciatingly painful and pure ecstasy at the sheer amount of power that begins to course through one's body. To implant the sacred Darima into the body though is the greatest sin among the Ildari and while exile isn't always immediate it is sure to come when people begin to notice the sudden change in a person who has implanted their Darima. Rafti was of no exception, while his habits and personality hadn't changed much the initial surge of power had consumed him and in that Rafti had gone on a rampage killing his mother and destroying most of the home he had grown up in. With so much evidence stacked against him exile came within a few days and the news of his sin was spread to all known Ildari villages so that no refuge would be given to one whose sin was so severe.
All this didn't matter though, to Rafti now that he was one with his Darima his emotions were heightened and he could focus more clearly. For several weeks Rafti traveled through plains, forest, and mountain until stumbling upon a small abandoned shell of a cabin in the middle of a fire scarred clearing. Signs of traffic of the human kind was non-existent and from the minor tracking skills Rafti possessed the presence of animals while somewhat further away was still present. Determining that this was the best place for him to stay and remain self-sufficient Rafti moved into the husk and over the next two years began to remodel the inside and continue to paint aiming to capture the true beauty of the Darima.
Now at the age of eighteen the inside of his home is made of brand new wood from a nearby grove of trees. In one corner of the home is a small bed, and in another a small area kitchen. The biggest part of his home though is his work area used to paint and all along the floor lie scraps of canvas of failed paintings. While fusing with the Darima had brought him to a higher level emotionally and physically he still couldn't comprehend the true beauty of the Darima and with each failure he produced his heightened emotions caused his mind to continue to come closer and closer to the brink of cracking. It wasn't until two months later that he finally broke, the fusion with his Darima had caused his soul to convert into power and his power turned into pure energy that surrounded him. Wrapped in that energy he began to rampage, destroy the entirety of his art and a large portion of the cabin.
For two days this went on until there was nothing left in his mind, starving and numb Rafti collapsed weeping that the past 7 years of his life had been wasted chasing after something he could never accomplish in the first place. In darkness though there is always light, and that light would come from somewhere that Rafti would never had expected. During his rampage Rafti had destroyed the home he had spent so much time fixing and while the emotional toll was great the unexpected surprise he had found within the rubble of his former home was more than enough to distract him. From within the rubble a blade could be seen, but this was no ordinary blade it was one made of the bone of a dragon. At that point in time it had all begun to make sense at least for the most part.
If he couldn't accomplish the goal he had set for himself he could always find another goal and try again after accomplishing that. While it wasn't exactly what he had expected finding this blade had changed everything, while Rafti wasn't an entirely normal Ildari he did still know of the teachings and how dragons were actually considered friends to the Ildari. Dragons, great and powerful beings said to possess magic that other beings could not comprehend and within the bones of those dragons was imprinted a small amount of that magic. If he could gather enough of these weapons maybe Rafti could use that magic to enhance his connection to his Darima and fulfill his wish of conveying the true beauty of the gem to others.
Once again Rafti was off to find his destiny and while he wasn't exiled from his home this time it was just the same having no place to come back to. Leaving from his home Rafti traveled for a year moving from town to town following the rumors of dragon bone weapons and magical items made of dragon parts. At first the going had been rough, learning to control his soul power and sword usage to survive in the rougher areas of the world to defend himself from the wilds. While mastering the power over his soul and how to utilize it was simpler for him sword fighting was something entirely new, his soul infused body was strong but moving his muscle in such an unfamiliar way was painful and the injuries and calluses caused were more than what Rafti was use to. After his year of travel though he became at least somewhat skilled in using his magic blade and had found his first magical dragon item.
What he had found couldn't necessarily be called a weapon but it did possess a small fragment of a dragon's magic and while accessorizing was never his strong point the item he had found was a hair band accented by two large horns made from the tips of a dragon's fangs. The item had been made for a warmonger who had died on the battlefield, while unsure of how to access the magic in the horns like he could with the blade wearing the horns gave the soft spoken Rafti a strong demeanor and granted him a new found respect among those who saw him as being one of power. With his first find a success Rafti was content to chase after the next artifact.
Since that time seven years have passed and while chasing rumors of different dragon items Rafti has stumbled upon hundreds of fakes. The price of wasting his time and attempting to trick him into believing such knock-offs were pure dragon blades was destruction. For the liar all stock they possessed was shattered before Rafti's hand of destruction and for those that led him to his next find the hand of salvation was raised through word of mouth of quality stock and increased business, though whether that business was continued depended on the salesman.
Today Rafti has only found two other items made of dragon parts, an intact sac where dragon's are said to produce their fire from and a coat made from the soft underbelly of the dragon that is both flexible and strong. While these finds are great it is still not enough for Rafti to become entirely one with his Darima and until that time he will continue to chase the ultimate dragon artifact and any others along the way.

Shail Aldir Character Name: Shail Aldir Race: Shadeling, Human, Bordrosian, Saudar. Class: Murk Age: 35, died when 30. Gender: Male Physical Description: Shail normally stands around 6’ tall, give or take several inches depending on his mood or will. His weight varies on his level of tangibility. He is a solid shade of black, with varying highlights of grays. He changes his form quite frequently, he has what he refers to as his “intimidation form” where he transforms into a larger, armored looking version of himself with demonic wings. It offers no benefits or disadvantages other than it’s size, and he simply uses it to intimidate people or creatures. Personality: Shail is a very dedicated and driven individual. He is selfish in the fact he will do whatever it takes to get what he desires, regardless of how others feel. He can be snide and sarcastic. He is not heartless however, he can extend a hand if he feels it is worth the risk. His coldness can be mistaken for rudeness, but he’s really just to absorbed in his goals to focus on being polite. He’s very matter of fact about things, never dancing around points, always saying exactly how he feels. He will never lie, unless the situation demands it for his success. He has no friends, and is reluctant to trust people fully, he reserves his trust for those who earn it duly. Bio: Having grown up in a fairly well to do family in Bordros, Shail was to inherit his fathers merchant business, but that was not to be. Shail fell for a lovely Bordrosian girl named Veloren Sabilla, and lost interest in his fathers business. This angered his father to the point he disowned his child and never spoke to him again. Shail and Veloren married and lived together for three years before she became very sick. Her health began to deteriorate rapidly, and soon she fell into an unresponsive state. Shail, devastated, began to search for a cure for her. With her health declining steadily, he seeked the help of the elves. Bargaining with them, several elder healers agreed to do for her what they could. Though they could not heal her, as her sickness they said was terminal, with no known cure, they could cast a spell on her to slow time on her body, effectively prolonging what little life she had left in hopes Shail could discover a cure in that time. The spell would keep her alive for a maximum of ten years, but when that time had run out, she would be gone forever. Shail left Veloren in the care of the elves, setting out to find a cure. He searched for many weeks looking for any leads to something that could be of use. He heard rumors of a stone located in an old ruin inside a deep and dangerous forest that was supposedly able to cure anything. Shail, willing to do anything to save his wife, set out on a quest for the stone. When he arrived at the forest however, he realized quickly that the quest would be too much for him. Willing to risk his life, he pressed on and soon found he was not the only one looking for this stone. Another man, was seeking it. Shail and the man battled, and Shail won. He was however, mortally wounded. Crawling with the last of his strength, he reached the altar the stone was supposed to be on. There, on the altar, was not a stone of magical power, simply a stone tablet with teachings of some ancient religion. From what little he read, Shail understood that it spoke of the selflessness or selfishness it would take to quest for such an item. Shail however didn’t take have time to waste on reading some explanation of a lie. He smashed it with the last of his energy, and he filled with anger. Knowing he was dying, Shail began to think of how he’d let Veloren down. How she’d simply lay there waiting for someone who would never return, and eventually, she too would just fade into the darkness. Darkness. It began to wash over Shail, filling his eyes. He couldn’t see anything anymore, slowly his hearing was slipping away. Clutching his wedding band to his chest, Veloren was the last of his thoughts, he then died… Sometime, through unknown ways, Shail found himself looking down at his own body. He looked around, knowing everything that had happened, he first thought he was a ghost. He then made his way to a pool of water and looked at his reflection. Shail’s silhouette was there, but his features were mostly gone, he seemed to be a solid mass of black, a shadow. He’d heard tell of such creatures, but he never imagined he’d ever become one. He knew very little of them. Suddenly, thoughts of Veloren rushed back to him, and he knew that that was still his focus, no matter what he was, human or not. The stone was a lie, and he’d failed his wife in life, he would not fail her in death. Collecting his belongings from his body, Shail set out to look for other ways to heal his wife. For several years Shail went through his existence, catching glares from people, horrible remarks, and the like. He didn’t pay attention however, he had a goal and was not stopping at any cost. He quickly learned that nothing could physically harm him, as in his searches he’d encountered many fighters who had initially bested him, but nothing could kill him it seemed. He killed those who stood in his way, all in the name of his wife. Upon discovering his apparent immortality, Shail’s focus quickly shifted from curing his wife, to making her life him. His selflessness while he was alive had turned to selfishness in death. He wanted her to be like him so they could both be together forever. Shail needed to learn the secret as to how he became a Shadeling, so he could make Veloren one, at any cost. He lent his abilities to people he found worthy from time to time, in order to try and learn more about Shadelings and the process itself. He earned money where wisdom was short, but the money he did acquire would aide him in bartering with others in order to learn more or gain things that would help. Languages: Jasac, Lowric, Jaranar, little Kedyk and Prithvayan. Weapons: Doesn’t carry any, but can form many with his body, including the pictured sword; when not stealthy the weapons tend to be a few shades lighter than Shail. Armor: He died wearing light leather armor with steel studs in it, but now all of his ‘clothing’ and ‘armor’ is black. They are normally just part of his silhouette, rarely does he actually wear clothing. Other Possessions: 7gp, wedding band, fire starting materiel, bundle of rope.

Vane, your character is accepted. Nothing is needed to change. I really like the concept behind it, it looks like a few people like the Ildari build and I'm excited to see yours play out.
Twisted, your character is accepted. Nothing is needed to change. I love the thought and effort you've put into the backstory for the creation of the shadeling. It's gonna be fun.
Dream, your character is accepted. Not sure if this is something that needs changing or otherwise, but your character will look like a shadowy three dimensional form of your former self. Not sure if you got that, I'm just going off your description, but I love the angst of it and I love the sheer uniqueness your character's gonna be. By the way, your character may be one of our oldest ones, since elves live long and then you're a shadeling. You have that option. Just let me know.

Thanks man. I know the quality of the writing for his history is kinda lacking to say the least, but I have a really hard time with histories. I'll be a lot better IC, promise. If not, you can cast him into Hell or some other inescapable hole. xD I'm going to bed, stayed up late just to see if you'd post.
