Time 6:00 Am Stretching Kallie quickly hopped out of bed and had a servant prepare a fresh hot bath. Shedding her clothes when the servant left she got into hot steaming water. Sighing as the warmth seeped into her muscles she began to wash her body. When she finished she got dressed and went to back to her room. Dressing and combing her hair out she grabbed her Ashandarei and went out to the training ground. Over the next several hours she trained with the monks at high noon lunch was served and then it was back to training. Time 5:00 Pm Sweat and dirt covered her body in a fine film but her mind was not on that. In front of her stood three of the recruits. Each of them was wirling a bow staff about coming treacherously close to hitting her. While their movements were not fluid and precise there were still three of them. There had been five but two of them were now nursing bruises and possible broken bones. Turning to the nearest recruit she quickly sized him up. He appeared to be in his early twenties with a rough looking black beard and a puckered scar on his cheek. She watched as he began to come down in a striking postion but the butt of the staff caught on his loose shirt sleeve. Catching this fatal mistake she whirled the bottom of her Ashandarei catching his right hand unable to hold on to the staff he dropped it and he was immediately dropped on his back side when Kallie swept under his feet. Quickly turning the Ashandarei around she caught and unprepared recruit with his arms relaxed. Upon contact the force from her weapon caused his staff to hit I'm in the head knocking him the the ground. Dropping to her knees she felt the last recruits staff brush her hair. Whirling around she knocked his staff out of his hand and knocked him to his feet placing the sword blade at his throat. Withdrawing her weapon she bowed to her opponents. Upon looking up she noticed a bluish light in the sky. Turning to see Master Shun standing beside her she pointed at the light Master what is that light its nothing like I've ever seen before "My dear that is the Dagger's Tip. Its said that that light will shine the way for the Harbringer. Its nothing you should worry over." Absently shaking her head she turned toward the gates to see a small group of travelers walking into the monastery. Walking over towards them sge addressed them. Greetings travelers I am Kaline Heartstone. May I ask what your business is with our monastery? |

A figure rose up from the ground, as much a part of the land as the trees around him. He groaned as he wroked the sleeping muscles of his body. He was unused to sleeping on steady, unmoving ground. It was so different for him. A part of him missed the constant motion that was found on the sea. He stood against a tree for a moment in silence, remembering. Then, as if on cue, he moved, beginning his day. Njáll took longer then necessary to get ready that moring, knowing that he would soon be arriving at the monastery. Though he didn't know what exactly would await him, he felt as though he should look his best for it. He finished his morning routine, and picked up the small pack that held his blankets and some food. Bag over one shoulder, and lyre in hand, he headed off. It took him about half the day to arrive at his goal. He was standing at the door, waiting to be admitted, and worrying over how he was to find the young woman he had come to see. To his surprise, it was she who answered the door. Njáll stood there for a moment, usure what to say, and then spoke. "Greetings, Kaline," he was one of the few people who never went with any type of honorific or title, preferring instead to call everyone by their first name, no matter how inappropriate it may be to them. "I am Njáll, formerly of the seaship Varðmaðr." he introduced himself. He was just getting used to the fact that he was no longer part of the crew, instead a simple travling bard. "I have come to work in your service." he had spent many days of his travel debating how to explain why he was there, and that was the best he could come up with. It sounded odd, but it worked well enough. |

I'll whisper in your ear, You are mine, and you will never have to be alone. And when I pull you near, You'll know I love you like I never loved anyone. So let me be the one to lift you up, I'll carry you home. 'Cause now I'm here to keep you safe, And to catch you when you fall. | |

Jorunn? The horse was fine. Sword? Safe in the scabbard. Bag? Everything was packed. "Well Jorunn, you ready for a little adventure?" The white mare seemed unmoved, merely wisping about her tail about in the brisk morning air. A little lopsided smile came upon Mira's face. "Try not to be so excited it. You know it's not good to get so worked up." She mounted up, patting Jorunn on her side as she herself got her gear in place. She looked about the hills and forest surrounding the area, looking off into the distance, to where she knew her heart drew her. "And we're off!" Through the countryside they rode, starting even before the sun had truly risen over the land. Breaking forth across the horizon, it lit the knight and her horse's way across the land until, roughly halfway through the day, she arrived at the gates of a monastery. "This looks to be the place," she whispered into Jorunn's ear. Dismounting, she walked forward to the gates, where a scraggly man stood. Swiftly a young girl came to the gates and introduced herself as Kaline. The man introduced himself as a former sailor by the name of Njáll. It was then her turn. "I am Ridder Mari Voll, and I too have come to offer my services to you, Miss Kaline." She knelt before the young girl, lowering her head as a sign of respect. |
