Elafane's eyes grew wide as he watched the Behemoth start to rise up. The ground had cracked all the way to there feet from out side of the city the first time he rose up, and now they were right at the beast feet. The monsters cry and the constant shaking of the earth as pieces of buildings began to fall had been terrible enough. Then as if to pull him from his own mind the monster begun to fall. Instinct kicked in and Elafane jumped from the rumbling earth as the beast slammed down cracking the earth like a nut, sending dust, rock, and rubble everywhere. He should have been safe in the air, or so he thought. Yet the up heaved earth and flying debris chased and slammed into him mid-leap. His body was then slammed into one of the tall building that surrounded and had yet to fall. Halve covered in rubble and glass Elafane slowly stood his wits returning before staggering over to the hole he had made. Stories up, and he hadn't even reached shoulder level with the 'King' yet. His gripped tightened as Elafane jumped again with his grip tight as he swung to plunge his pick ax into the Behemoth's side with his open hand and slammed his gauntleted hand into the Behemoth's side and released a large jolt of magic into the creature in hopes of breaking through the monstrosity's shell of rock and gem. As the beast drew closer and closer Edward's entire body shook in response his aches and pains crying. The constant shaking of the ground caused his legs to shake uncontrollably and turn to jelly his muscles somehow finding the constant shaking relaxing like a massage. Before Edward could even draw his sword the Behemoth had screeched out a terrible cry piercing his ears straight down to his core, causing his ears to ring incessantly. Clenching a hand to either side of his head Edward began to suction out his ears using the flat of his palm like a plunger hoping that it might help him at least somewhat. Regaining himself for a short while Edward only managed to catch the vast mass in front of him come falling down to the ground before he was thrown into the air and banging his arm and ribs against a section of street that had risen up to form a blunt spike. The feeling in Edward's left arm was numb and moving it even a little caused him to flinch in pain. His elbow had been smashed against the rock and to prevent any further injury from unnecessary movement Edward tied his sheathe around his arm. Withdrawing his blade Edward would defeat the beast even if he had to do it by himself. Holding his blade steady Edward charged forth toward the closest leg he could find. Swinging his blade twice Edward hoped his attacks would have some effect on the beast before withdrawing to a comfortable distance. Reias hands quickly shot up to her ears as the roar reached them. She doubled over and made herself as small as she could by curling up into a ball. There may have been a scream coming from her but she couldn't be sure. The earth shot up all around her and the ground shook violently as the Behemoth came crashing down. When the shaking ended the girl stood and turned toward the giant rock and her eyes tightened. The earthquake had caused injury, but luckily the rocks had completely missed the girl. Her hands moved out infront of her and what looked to be mist came from her arms as she held her hands out as if holding a large book. Suddenly the mist seemed to take an almost solid form and the form resembled that of a book. She giggled before saying, "So tell me about your self." With that her energies seemed to jump toward the Behemoth. Roll: [result]18&18,1d20,0,18&1d20[/result] Tsuki watched as the grand monster loomed above them growing larger, taller. The world darkened around them for a moment, if it wasn't so terrifying the sight would have been breath taking. Tsuki took in a breath just as the beast attacked. The woman fell from the blow which unsteadied her. After a moment she relaxed and settled herself, no reason to let herself get rattyled, she was helping no one that way. She stood. "Alright lets see just what we're dealing with here." Tsuki closed her eyes her fingers moving to her temples trying to focus, forcing past the outter shell unlocking the inner mind. Deep breaths steadied her as Tsuki searched for the information that would help them defeat the monster. The battle continued on around her but it seemed distant, as if in slow motion around her as the woman lost herself within her thoughts and the thoughts of the beast which threatened all their lives. The loud screech hurt Jessika's ears. She tried to cover them in time but the ringing resounded in her head. Then everything shook. She lost her footing and slid. She landed hard on her back. Her eyes widened when she saw branches falling toward her. She rolled out of the way but ended up in the path of some rocks. A larger than average grazed against her. She seethed in pain. The shaking stopped and she pushed herself up. Jessika unhooked the second blade from its loop. She gripped each of them like they were her last lifeline. Something moved against her leg. She twitched and looked down. Some blood was sliding down her calf. She frowned and tried to ignore that before the pain shot up through her. "That wasn't nice," she said to no one in particular. Slowly, Jessika raised her hands up. The first thought that came to mind was cold, ice cold. The feeling flowed down her arms and into her hands. The metal of her weapons began frosting over. The feeling built up and she had to let go of it. Jessika made sure she was focused on the Behemoth and let it out. Star had first seen the huge Behemoth close to an hour ago and she was hot on its tail. Rapidly approaching it she watched as the end of a battle came about and then the Behemoth was on them. It attacked them and one person in particular got hurt worse. Amazingly two people hadn't gotten hurt at all. Swooping down and hovering slightly back from the group she decided she would help. The first thing to be done was healing that man. Calling upon her magical powers her staff began to glow and as she swung her staff a ball of healing energy shot out toward the man. Cure on Edward? Tyrin watched in a dazed shock as the Behemoth's body came hurtling down to earth. Everything seemed to go into slow motion and as the beast drew ever closer to the ground he did a reckless thing. The ground had started to shake rise and fall into the earth from the earth quake. He thought if he were able to ride some of the earth high enough then he would be able to damage the Behemoth in some way. Boy was he wrong, as the Behemoth struck the ground the earth beneath him erupted rocks dirt and Tyrin went flying into the air. The rocks flew higher then Tyrin did so he struck the ground first. His breath was knocked out of him and he struggled to get up. Rolling out of the way just a second before the rocks struck. Those things would ave flattened him. Getting up on shaky legs he looked toward the Behemoth just as Elafane attacked it. The Behemoth let out a roar of pain as Elafanes sword carved away at its think skin. Hefting his sword he joined the effort. Charging toward the Behemoth he jumped as high as he could and slashed once at its leg and again at its foot. The beast was stunned and one of his attacks had hit hard. The beast roared in pain as its outter shell began to crumble and fall to the earth. This in turn caused the ground to shake. The Behemoths leg had been wounded severely and it collapsed to its knee. The upper part of the leg was at a slant and taking a foolish charge he sheathed his sword and jumed up. Latching his hands to the Behemoths body he began to climb. The trek was a treacherous one and it could very well have cost him his life. All the while he kept thinking of how important defeating the Behemoth was. Even if he had to sacrifice his own life he would see an end to the beasts life. His life was nothing compared to the thousands they would save, if only for a short while, by defeating him. Finally Tyrin came to stand on the Behemoths back his muscles were on fire and sweat poured down his body. Each step it felt as if he were going to topple from the beasts back, but his will was as strong as iron and finally he came to stand at the base of the Behemoths neck. Taking his sword in both hands he slashed once and then plunged his blade into the beasts body and held on for dear life. Star smiled brightly as she felt her magic began to take effect. She took pride in her supportive abilities and given the chance she would always help someone. Though now was definitely not the time to help these people. She definitely needed to help damage the King Behemoth. Fire didn't seem like it would work on him all that much, but fire was the only thing she could use. Preparing her attack she began to draw in the heat around her. If someone had been standing near her they would have felt a chill and a drop in temperature. The trinkets began to glow as he staff warmed up. Flapping her wings in slow powerful thrusts she began to climb into the sky until she was high above the Behemoth. Twirling her staff in her hands she began to chant. "Fire of life, destruction, and healing. The flames that give redemption and are used in sacrifice I call on you now in my time of need. Aid me in defeating my enemies and saving our lives." Twirling her staff once more she thrust it downward toward the Behemoth a giant ball of flame forming and shooting toward him. Edward's attacks had rung true, his first digging in deeply to the monstrous leg before him while his second had only managed to chip away at the solid mountain before him. If Edward had anything to blame why his first strike was better than his second it would probably be something of a pain high. While his second swing was affected by how much he realized his arm was hurting. Fortunately as Edward backed away the winged Gaian Star was right behind and healing him up. Giving her a polite wave and a short, "Thank you," Edward had returned his focus to the battle before him. If he was going to live through this he would have to hold off his true appreciation until afterward when they were all together again. Taking the time to release the sheathe that was holding his arm still and tightening it back around his waist Edward was finally repaired. Though the pain was still there he was still able to charge forth and use both arms for his next attacks. Charging the gap he had created before it was better to attack a point that was already weakened than to try and keep creating new wounds. Reia blinked as she watched the 'book' display the word 'Raflargle'. "Raflargle? That tells me nothing!" She stated before noticing the book change to display everything. Tsuki had cast her own scan, and hers had gotten through. "Mean Behemoth. Why did I get the nonsensical word?" She sighed some before moving her hands down, the book of energies dissipating and returning to Reia. She shook her hands some as she got used to the energies being pulled in after being out of her body. Then once situated she danced back a few steps, then threw some freezing energies toward her towering rocky foe. Roll: [result]13&13,1d20,0,13&1d20[/result] Tsuki smiled slightly as she felt the monter's mind go haywire. Stunned it. She took a breath, that basically gave them all a free shot, then the pain regestered in her body. How badly had she been hit? She let it regester in her mind, pretty badly. She shook her head. It didn't matter. She had to make sure this beast went down before it could cause more damage. Tsuki gripped the hilt of her blade and felt the freezing powers drain from her and pool in the magic-based gems of her blade using them as conductors. When she felt there was enough power in the sword she leaped forwqard with a hard swing, letting the icy blast shoot free like a wave aimed at the creature before them. The Behemoth was stunned and Jessika had done nothing to hurt it. She let her weapons hang from her wrists and shook out her hands. The numbing cold made her joints ache. They cracked and popped as she bent them this way and that. She groaned through the uneasiness of it. After a moment the feeling began to return. "Sorry," she mumbled, "but I'm going to have to freeze you again." Since the creature was already stuck in place, it seemed pointless to hit it with lighting. If she ended up freezing it, well it could mean a prolonged time of it not hurting them. Jessika knew her physical attacks were weak and she would not charge at it now. She would let the others who were more powerful and were capable of wielding strong weapons do that. She left her weapons dangling from her wrists and raised her hands up again. The cold feeling spread faster than before. Jessika lost the feeling in her fingers first than the palms of her hands. The energy built up and she let it out, aiming for the Behemoth. Elafane looked on in utter amazement as the Behemoth's armor fell into shattered chunks and pieces lit tiring the ground. Never had he imagined being able to do so much to Behemoth so quickly. His eyes also caught Tyrin climbing up the Behemoth's shoulder as ice ensnared the creature. They would win. Even though this 'King' was far more powerful than them, they would win. Not one to lose his head Elafane pulled himself away from the scene and grabbed hard with gauntleted hand and loosened his pick axe to climb further up after Tyrin. He had gotten the right idea, attack it were vitals were to closest to the surface. The ice that now enshroud the beast and held it still made the climb easier as did the help of his ax and claw. Once on its it back the ax quickly flipped around into a scythe and was swung down into the beast spine twice in hopes of severing it right through. So far Edward's attacks had been hitting and dealing damage little by little, while he couldn't freeze the beast or stun it with magic like the others he could still at least start chopping through the stiff muscle of its legs. After his second round of attacking Edward had decided that he needed to somehow deal more damage without having to worry about the chunks of armor that were falling toward him. Looking around for a hint of some kind Edward found Tyrin and Elafane climbing the beast and attacking from there. 'Let's see if I can do that too,' he thought beginning the trip up the Behemoth's leg. It was an easy climb, the beast was frozen and stunned. Reaching the beast's back Edward watched Elafane and Tyrin's attacks and while not wanting to get too close to Elafane on the off chance that he might go crazy again. Finding a nice fleshy spot by the joint of the leg Edward had been attacking for awhile now. Slashing at the spot Edward pulled his blade up and aimed it straight at the weak point stabbing downward. Her fire had harmed the Behemoth somewhat. She would attack again if you could but one of the humans had successfully frozen him. How was it that a rag tag group of humans and Gaians were able to so easily take the Behemoth this far down. He was the Terra Lord with a neigh impenetrable defense yet the Gaian had shattered its shell like it were glass. Did they really have a chance at defeating Chaos and restoring the worlds to their natural places? Maybe now was not a good time to think about that. Looking down she watched as a human and the Gaian joined one of the other humans on the back of the Behemoth. These humans were absolutely reckless and if not for the Behemoths frozen state it would have thrown them off. Shaking her hand she began to prepare a spell. Waving her staff it created a golden haze that solidified into a pair of gaint pair of dice. Order I call on you, give us your luck so that we may end this battle and be done with the Behemoth. His attacks had been mildly successful. While they didn't have the right damaging effects he hoped for they still had done significant damage to the Behemoth. The Behemoth was now severely wounded and soon he would be slain. What seemed like it would have been a battle for the ages had turned into childs play. The monstrous beast was soon going to be slain. Turning around he watched as both Elafane and Edward reached the top of the Behemoth. It seemed like he had inspired them into charging to the top with him. This had undoubtedly been the single most reckless thing he had ever done and yet they had followed him. Was it his courage that brought that about or did they just trust him to lead them into battle? He would have made a great Knight Commander if he had been born in the dark ages. Turning he pulled up on his sword freeing it from the rock and flesh of the Behemoth. This creature would fall and being atop it would not be wise nor would be climbing down it. Though both of those were probably the safer method then what he had planned. Thrusting his sword into the Behemoth he began to run raking the sword through its flesh as he went. He ran toward Edward and the leg that was damaged. Pulling his sword out he jumped and spun in the air and thrust his sword into the Behemoths leg and let gravity take effect. Jessika silently cheered to herself. Her spell had landed and froze the Behemoth. Then the numbing cold hit her. She seethed in pain and shook her hands out. Slowly, she started to work the fingers into moving freely. The joints cracked and her skin burned. After a few moments, the feeling was back and she was able to hold onto her weapons once again. The others were attacking as best they could. No one looked to be in a lot of pain. The injuries seemed minor to scarce from where she stood. Then again, not everyone was within her line of sight. She, herself, felt pretty good too. Jessika took off at a run. She gripped both of her blades tightly, leaving them pointing to the ground behind her as she ran. Since the creature was frozen, her magic seemed almost useless. Then she thought of something. It was a rather large and relatively important creature in the world. It had to have something she could take from it. When she got close enough, Jessika launched herself at the Behemoth wondering what, if anything, she could possibly grab. Yet again Reia's powers were not working correctly. It seemed like her powers were doing things that Reia didn't want them to. It was genuinely annoying but Reia decided to focus on hitting it. Her freeze had failed, but Jessika's had not, the large beast was currently frozen and weakened. Unfortunately for the girl her old powers were not working, ever since she was 'thrown' to this world she didn't have any of her usual arsenal. However she did gain some of her spells so she figured her body was just taking longer to 'acclimatize'. In any case all she had to attack the behemoth with was a freeze. Thus that is what the girl did, she built up her energies, then loosed the freezing energies toward the already frozen over sized rock. Elafane turned to watch Tyrin bite his sword into the Behemoth with a bit of amazement, that man was strong as any Gaian ever had been at his size, and was just as reckless as well. It rather made his blood boil with the feeling of being back home. To think it would have been a human to remind him of just what he had once been and very well could be again. His smirk spread wide under his mask as he held up his pick-ax and let his body do the thinking. In a flash he had leaped to and off the Behemoth's shoulder catching himself last second with his gauntleted and throwing himself under the beast jowls slashing at the huge neck as he went and grabbing what ledge of rock and ice was left jetting off to swing and throw himself before coming down full force with his pick aimed at the monster's temple. The roar that followed as ice shattered and the leg that had supported the Behemoth bleed and cracked shook the very Earth and reverberate down to ones very bones before the Earth leapt and cracked as the full weight of the beast came crashing down. All the land broke and rumbled close to as it had when the colossus had used its shear mass and magics to tear the land open before. Its icy tomb braking blood began to pour out filling the streets, sewers, and broken Earth like a velvet red tide seemly never ending. The monster's breathing was short, cut deep by Elafane's blade and its head was hazing by the same rite. And yet with that haze came freedom of Chaos' Reign and a sheen in the orbs large as a house that spoke gratitude rather than hate and rage as before. The 'King' was silent his eyes taking in his slayers ever detail as they gathered, he himself gathering the last of his strength and borrowing form the Earth to speak, "Purity Seekers... tell me. What do you hope to accomplish? Your power... they are nothing before the dark one. What drives you so to grant you such will and strength to even slay me?" Hoarse, ruff, and short of breath, yet under it a old man could be heard somewhat interested in his killers, a last respect wished before being summoned to the grave. As before in the first GA, you can take a gamble a answer the Behemoth's question. You roll a miss, you get nothing. You roll a hit you gain a ton of experience and the ability to summon him when you gain a Summoning Seal, hit a crit and you get even more EXP than normal, can summon him, and get a 'item'. If you chose not to answer then you get EXP as if you rolled a hit, but wont be able to summon him later. |
