Elafane shook his head as his eyes scoped the horizon just out side the city's limits. His feet felt the gently rise and rhythmic shaking of the Earth beneath as his sight was filled with the spectacle of a true monster, towering over the building and growing larger with every step forward. Yet the shear bulk and mass of the Behemoth slowed it down immensely. It would still be a while before the creature reach them. There was still time to escape, to run away with tail between their legs. And if he did he would have to kill himself.

Elafane turned around to look into the faces of his collective comrades and smiled beneath his mask, "Party, now is the time to make your choice final. Run and hide before the beast reaches us? Or fight by my side in reclaiming our worlds, our lands, our rights to live! Choose or die in the wake of the on coming fray!", Elafane turned his back to the group, he come to know humans as fickle and weak beings and if they all choose to run form the Earth Lord so be it. But he wouldn't let his own confidence brake from the sight of their terror. He hoped he'd seen them run beside him though.

[[Alright, exp is based on the amount of characters in your post, but the exp cap per post is 1000. Obviously I hit that and there for don't get any more. You can post long as you wont, but remember that you'll be in mid-frantic battle 24/7, so keep it flowing.

Your total exp is the amount you have gained from post one to post ten million. Every time you reach 5000 you gain a level. I'll explain this when we get there. This means at level 100 your max exp will be 475000.

I'll also explain how the combat rounds work once we, as the RPers, are ready and set up. In short, all you'll need to know right now is that before the monsters attack a roll will be made by me to determine who gets to attack first. This is in the boss' favor, sorry. But its in our favor when against small fry and mini-bosses.

That said, intro post away my friends.]]

The town the group had come to was desolate, any signs of life had long since vanished and that wasn't what Edward needed. 'Where could you have gone,' he thought taking one last look around before returning to the group. Edward had become use to the ever shaking ground and the sight of monsters ever since he joined up with Elafane, but the Behemoth was an entirely different matter all together. It's sheer size was almost like that of a small mountain and the way it blocked out the far horizon was frightening.

Elafane's question was pointless, even if they did run it wouldn't get Edward any closer to his goal of finding her. Resting a hand on the pommel of his sword Edward sighed and said, "I'm all for it, there's no point in avoiding it any longer." With that Edward had said his piece and found himself a still mostly intact bench to rest on. Scouting the city for resources and monsters was tiring but adding on his personal quest along with battling said monsters was even more tiresome.

Jessika stood as still as she could, arms crossed over her chest. The ground was shaking again. It was something she would have to get used to. At least it didn't make her jump any longer. All it did was make her heart race. Her anxiety wasn't so bad anymore either. She was able to fight and hold her own during the battles they faced. The adrenaline had learned to kick in when she was engaged in a fight. Instead of telling her to run, it told her to hold her ground or die trying. She was no longer afraid of that since she lost those dear to her.

It seemed something new was looming on the horizon. It was coming for them and Elafane made a small speech about fighting. The man she came to know as Edward spoke afterward. She couldn't agree with him more. She uncrossed her arms and let her fingers hover above the blades she had hanging from her belt. "I am ready for whatever we have to face," she said in reply.

Reia stretched some as she looked around the small group. Off on the horizon was the mountain that was the Behemoth. It was inching closer and closer, its steps causing the ground to shake under them almost as if the ground itself was scared.
The girl had been following the group for quite some time, though only recently has she actually 'joined' the group instead of stalking them. Because of her race she doesn't feel all that safe while alone. To the group she was a normal little girl, who happened to be able to use magic. She had been quite careful not to let any of them see her wings, when she washes she is careful to do so in seclusion, when she sleeps she sleeps with her back against a wall in case her wings twitch, and when there is a fight she is careful to avoid getting too badly cut up. Now these humans may not care she's a Gaian, after all Elafane could hardly be called human, but she wasn't willing to take that risk.

"Are you sure we can even fight that thing right now?" She asked as Elafane asked if they were going to run. "I mean I'm all for fighting a mountain, it sounds like fun, but death because we weren't ready…well that sounds less fun."

Everyone in the party seemed to be ready to fight a few were nervous about it and a nervous tension hung in the air. An ominous foreboding silence was interupted every minute or so as the beast took another step. From here it looked the size of a small mountain and it was still some distance away. This fight would definitely be difficult and the outlook seemed grim but not trying would mean certain death. If the fought they would atleast have a chance a surving. Even if we all died the beast would be weakened and someone else might be able to take it down.

Standing up from the little alcove from where a tower had fallen he picked up his sword and walked over to the others. "Would it not be best if we fought it on a place of our choosing? This city is not very ideal for fighting a large beast. The city walls would collapse on us from these tremors potentially dooming us. You have my sword but we must not make a foolish mistake in fighting it."

Elafane smiled under his mask as he heard his comrades behind him. Their words were reassuring. Yet he had to turn as he heard Tyrin in the far back bringing up the location, "You raise a good point, but if we fight here we can also use the debris and buildings to limit his movement and keep out of his way. If we fought in a large and open area he would have free range of movement or might just trigger a quake large enough to swallow us whole. If he tries that here we have a chance of using the buildings as something to stand or climb on. "

Elafane nodded once to himself. It wasn't the greatest plan but ether way they came out behind. In this way at least a few might make it, "If any one else has a idea, please speak up. We still have time to regroup and change tactics."

OK, I'm going to put this into my post just to keep the count down. I'm going to roll a dice for the monsters. When ever there is a chance for monsters to attack this will happen.

Miss: Same as hit. [normally this would mean nothing happens, but since this it the practice battle]

Hit: The Behemoth summons 3 weak golems to fight us. We get to attack first.

Crit: The Behemoth summons 4 moderate golems to fight us, they attack first.

Far off into the distance a deep bellow shook the very air around the city as the monstrous sight of the great King Behemoth rose to its hind legs and stood like a bear blocking out the sun on the city before coming crashing down with both mammoth paws together cracking the ground with a thunderous noise. The crack shot out like a bolt over the ground and to the group stopping short of running over their feet before large hands seeming made of rock ripped force and started to pull the bodies of stone behind coming forth from the rips in the ground.

"Okay I will take the fact you said nothing as a 'of course were ready Reia'. But I will totally haunt your ghost if we die. That's right I will haunt your ghost. There will be no rest in the afterlife for you." Reia glared at Elafane for a moment before turning toward the distance, just in time to see the behemoth rising up, then to fall to the ground as it came crashing down. "Did I ever mention that I hate falling?" She asked as she attempted to stand before scrambling back as a hand came bursting from the ground. "Forget falling, did I ever mention that I'm fragile? Cause I am." She squeaked before sending a preemptive strike of frost towards the rock hand that was pulling its body from the ground.

The long awaited rest that Edward was so glad to have was quickly cut short as the sun sudden appeared to disappear. Glancing over the Behemoth had set itself on it's hind legs before crashing down causing large tremors to shake the city violently despite the distance between the two. Wrapping his arms around the bench he was sitting on Edward shook violently before calling out sarcastically, "This isn't what I meant when I said I wanted a nice massage!"

Before he could say anything else the ground in front of the group of warriors was split asunder. Standing up quickly Edward knew that nothing good could happen if the ground was splitting. His thoughts were answered when a somewhat large hand rose from the rift and hung there as if trying to pull up a great weight behind it. Removing his sword from the sheathe on his side Edward knew that if he was going to survive in this world he would always have to strike first and ask questions later. Taking an offensive stance Edward plunged his sword straight down at the hand hoping to cause some form of damage to whatever was trying to climb its way onto the street.

The ground began to shake. Jessika turned to look at the behemoth that rose from the earth. It was rearing back. She lost her footing and squatted down. She placed one hand on the ground and the other grabbed one of the blades off its belt loop. Then she placed that hand flat against the ground also.

Her balance was gone completely once the behemoth landed, splitting the ground it two. It separated right in front of their group. Jessika toppled over and landed on her butt. She reached for her other dagger and pulled it off the loop as well. She gripped both tightly. An annoyed grunt escaped her lips as she pushed herself to her feet. She put both arms out in front of her body. She reached deep inside her for the power she knew was waiting below the surface. Her eyesight faded around the edges until all she could see was the behemoth's hand. Then she released the power that was inside her toward the target.

"Perhaps you are correct but would a city really provide us any cover once the walls start coming down?" As he was about to start his next sentence he noticed the rearing Behemoth right as it was coming down. Making a firm stance he waited for impact and as the Behemoth struck the ground a large tremor erupted causing some of the buildings in the cities interior collapse. And if things couldn't get worse a giant fisure opened up in front of them and creatures began to claw their way to the surface. Unlimbering his sword from its scabbard on his back he ran forward leaping over this fissure and slashing downward towards the nearest creature. Upon touching down on the opposite side he tucked a rolled and immediately turned around and held his blade in a defensive posture.

The man would have by all means loved to retort to Tyrin and Reia but before his mind could find the words his eyes found the Behemoth on hind legs. Under the mask his eyes had to have grown remarkable as the beast seemed to fall in slow motion before the ground erupted in shaking cataclysm. Strong legs and his halberd like pick-ax used as a third he stayed his ground unmoved as the world shifted under foot. If that had been the worse of it they would have been fine.

Yet before the shaking even stopped hands of rock exploded from fissures in the earth ripped by the King himself, "Golems.... should have seen that one coming." As he spoke under his mask his comrades shoot out from around him with blades and magic, the battle was starting with out him. But not for long, Elafane uprooted his ax and leapt forward using the end like a scythe on contact.

The golem looked on in a fit of despair as it felt his body ripped away at mercilessly before even clamming out of the ground. It had tried to use its arm as a shield and yet now that arm lay as rubble beneath him with the same cursed weapons before him that had just severed it. Infinite rage over took him as his fist pulled back and came flying at Tyrin's head aimed to clean take it off.

Reia grinned and brought her hands up holding them as if to frame the golem they all hit, her aim was to scan the weakened golem to find out about the stronger ones.
Well as if fate decided to laugh at her before she could even start the spell Reia was suddenly hit in the dead center of her gut by a slab of the road. The hit managed to not only knock her down, but also cause a fair bit of damage for the girl. She rolled some before gripping her chest and standing to look at the golem that hit her.
She growled some before standing and changing her energies, her target wasn't to scan anymore, she was aimed to destroy this rock slab. Her hands coated in frost as she thrust them forward, aiming to throw her frost at the golem.

All through this she didn't notice that Elafanes mind was 'taken by Chaos'. She knew what would happened at that time, and had she noticed she might have chosen to divert the attack to Elafane instead.

The group was dealing plenty of damage to the golems, at least it looked that way to Edward. Taking a quick glance around the small battlefield it appeared that everyone had been dealing damage to the beasts except for the mighty leader they had all gathered around. Something in the air had changed when he had tried to attack one of the golems. Edward hadn't spent enough time around beings of chaos to know much about them but he could feel a strange madness emanating from him.

Returning his attention to the golems in front of him each of the golems had chosen a target and Edward had managed to piss one off enough to have it attack him apparently. The golem was too slow though it's attack while apparently mighty against his allies was easily blocked by his sword and natural strength. Laughing a bit harshly Edward was amused at how simple the Golem was for it to have no effect on a person whose greatest achievement was playing the piano in concert. Taking his blade Edward made an arc in the air and heavily forced his blade down upon the Golem that had attacked him.

Elafane shook his head wildly as he felt a sudden madness over taking him clouding his vision and fogging his mind. He could hear it though, the evil laughter of a God and his grip upon his very soul. He could feel his body moving on its own like a puppet with out his command and any he tried was worthless. So much fury, so much anger. He couldn't give in, refused to.

Yet his body turned and swiped his ax at the group around the pained golem as his hand came up to repair it. he could feel the pure healing energy rushing forth from his finger tips at the rock slab, all under Chaos' command. He could only hope to fight it off enough to stop himself from attacking his comrades and give them a easy target.

The defensive posture he had taken had saved his life it appeared. The Golem that he had attacked had lost its arm and sent its fist flying at his head, but his sword was able to slice through the rock. Shards of the fist hit his face causing minor injuries. Laughing he turned to strike at the Golem again. This time the Golem was fully out of the ground and on his side of the fissure. Turning to look at his companions he saw Reia freeze one of the Golems and Edward attack another. These monsters didn't seem to be putting up much of a fight. It was pitiful really if these were any indication of the Behemoths strength then he would not be as hard as he appeared to be. Readying his sword he dashed towards the wounded Golem upon reaching him he brought his sword down in a smooth arc from his right shoulder to his left leg. As his sword swung he noticed Elafane. A pure white energy coming from his hand and surrounding the Golem. He watched in slow motion as his sword neared the Golems rock body and as it seemed to repair itself. Had Elafane just healed this Golem? If so why would he do that were these not enemies?

For the moment, it seemed that the small band was doing well, but it was only the beginning of the fight. Jessika knew that to let her guard down, even for a second, could mean the end of them all. She turned to the side. Her spell had landed. The others were hitting too. She wanted to see if the others were getting hurt. The golems charged her teammates and only Tyrin seemed to be hurt at all. She moved closer to him in case he needed medical attention or help. For now, he seemed fine.

She raised her hands in front of her. She needed this attack to hit. Edward and Reia had things under control on their end and she couldn't see Elafane from where she stood. Jessika assumed he had it under control. Once more she let the energy flow through her arms. She put all her focus into that power. It surged and spilled down into her fingers. She released that built up energy at the golem and it crackled as it left her hands.

Reia jumped into the air giggling some as she froze the golem. "That will show you." She stated. Her anger at the large rock had essentially subsided at the fact it was frozen.
Her focus now turned toward Elafane, there was a very good question of if she should freeze him, or scan the rock. Both had their uses obviously. A freeze against Elafane would help break him from his control. A scan would help them figure out threat levels.
Reia gave a loud groan before turning and focusing on the rock bringing her hands up and framing the frozen rock then sending a focused burst, praying it scanned.

Elafane chuckled a bit his voice dark, raspy, the hints of insanity now clear as he suddenly lashed out at Tyrin with his ax, flipping it over mid thrust and slashing back up with the scythe end and came back round with the pick ax again, flowing from one dance like slash to the next driven by madness, "Succumb!"

Elafane could do nothing more than grit his teeth, metaphorically. Chaos was gaining more control, "Damn you Chaos. I swear I'll drive the same stake you use against my comrades into your black heart." Empty words with a body to drive them.
