Sea of Clouds; The sky's the limit

The world once faced a horrible disaster. This disaster made no one feel safe. Some creatures and pets seem to have become vicious monsters. Oceans destroyed port towns and boats. Earthquakes destroyed everything in their paths. Blizzards covered deserts and the hot sun melted the snow in the mountains. Crops and plants became impossible to plant. Each week, a volcano eruption would occur. Everything felt like it was coming to an end.

Magic-users decided to sacrifice Yggdrasil, a giant tree that was the entire source of magic. They were able to save the world, using all the strength they had. Everything was moved to the sky by the power of magic. Even though Yggdrasil was sacrificed in the process, a single seed from the tree still survived. As it grew, magic restored in the land. No more disasters occurred. No one had to worry, anymore. Peace had finally been restored.

Since there were no more oceans, and different parts of the land and countries were torn apart, transport was solved by airships. Their source came from either magic, machines, weather conditions, or by using power from lightning. People started to find rare ruins and treasures all over the place. This marked the era of sky pirates...

Crew:
Linda Argiti- Navigator (Doomshifter)
Adantiella Ancarta- Cloud Watcher (Hercules!)
Kusabana Griffion- Captain (VongolaPrince)
Adrian Belrose- First Mate (Jerick!)
Drago Casatte- Skald (Sparrow)
Kaline Heathrow- Open (Everlasting Nirvana)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was your average, sunny day for Kusabana's crew. Though, it's never an average day when your dealing wth sky pirates. They would be doing numberous things everyday. Attacking villages and towns. Hunting down treasure. Getting in a ship battle with another group of pirates. Causing trouble in a bar. Going into a thunderstorm. Getting a bounty on thier heads. The possibilities are endless. Though, that was not the case with Kusabana.
Captain Kusabana Griffion was rather bored at the moment. She did not have an exact location to go to. There really were no sky pirates or islands nearby. There had to be something to do on this ship. Wait! She could go bother her crewmates. Maybe they were doing something that could entertain her until they reached land.
Meanwhile - above in the Crow's Nest - Adantiella was as bored as a bat too. They had encountered *nothing* for days! It was just cloud after cloud after cloud, then some clear skies for a while, before going back to white, fluffy, boring clouds. Sure, her job title was "Cloud Watcher", but this was just getting ridiculous. The girl sighed as she shifted weight from one leg to the other, leaning across the barricade that surrounded the Nest.
But then.. Light-bulb. "Guess I'll just have to entertain myself somehow.." she thought. Leaning over the side of the barricade now, she curved her black hair behind her ear and out of her face. "Hey!!" She called down to the rest of the crew? "Out of curiosity, What are you guys doing down there?! Watchin' clouds go by all day everyday is getting kinda old!!" She prayed that they could hear her all the way up there. But more than anything, she hoped one of them had the guts to get up there with her.
After all it was a rather lonely job, when you had a view from the top, with your head in the clouds..
It had, indeed, been quite the dull day on the ship and consequently even the usually hyperactive and funloving First Mate could not escape the feeling of absolute boredom. While he had chores earlier in the day to take care of, there was now absolutely nothing left to occupy his time. The ship was on a directed course with no visible threats or other ships to threaten. Therefore Adrian had elected to fall asleep on the deck as he was partial to do during downtimes.
Normally his sleeping right in the center of the deck of the ship would be a nuisance, as people would have to walk around him. But today everyone seemed to be lazing around, doing nothing particularly interesting. Oh the dull horror that was down time. While he slept, Adrian dreamt of an enemy ship hitting them with a full broadside. His crewmates all shouted fearfully in unison and ran around like chicken with their heads cut off. A figure who looked vaguely like himself, albeit quite a bit more heroic walked gracefully along the edge of Captain Kusabana's ship.
The hero of his dream pointed at the enemy ship and shouted, "That's enough of your nonsense!" before leaping to the opposing ship. The captain of the enemy ship could only stare in horror as the heroic Adrian leapt such a grand distance. Then, in one fluid motion, the hero grabbed the enemy captain by his collar and launched him off the ship with a mighty throw. Everyone cheered and showered him with praise and admiration as the enemy pirates huddled in a corner, crying. It was glorious and brought a smile to his face in the real world.
"Hey!!" shouted Ella from the crow's nest. The loud shout echoed in Adrian's dream. In the dream world he looked around to see where the shout had come from but oddly it seemed to come from the sky itself. Once his mind started to catch up in the real world his dream started to fade into obscurity. Finally his mind completely caught up with what was happening and he sat up suddenly, startling a small bird that was irritatingly pecking at his leg while he slept.
"Out of curiosity, What are you guys doing down there?! Watchin' clouds go by all day everyday is getting kinda old!!" he heard her shout after waking up. He placed a hand above his eyes and looked up at the crow's nest to see that it was indeed Ella shouting down below at them. Apparently she had gotten fed up with boredom. Which was alright, because he was fed up with it as well.
Adrian raised one hand and waved at her then shouted back, "Getting lonely up there, Ella?! I'll climb up and keep you company if you'd like!"
There was yelling above-deck. Always with the yelling! Couldn't they tell that the most important person on this ship was doing the most important job of all? Navigating was hard work!
Poring over a magically animated sky-chart, Linda Argiti was the only busy person on this ship! There was that A-class storm cloud to the north that was of minor concern, the thaumometer was on the fritz again and Linda wasn't even sure if they could get to the next major sky-port before they ran out of thaumatic energy! That is why she was busily doodling cartoon characters on a spare piece of parchment instead of working, because that was all just rather depressing to think about.
With a small discharge of thaums, as those particularly technical mages like to say instead of 'magic', the two little armoured knights began to clash swords. It was a fun trick she had learnt to pass the time, but the spell didn't last long. Oh well. Let's go see what the yelling is about.
Linda popped her head above deck through the trapdoor.
"What's all this shouting about? I'm trying to work!" she laughed. It wasn't something that anyone would believe.
And all because of Adantiella's call to rise, suddenly the entire ship seemed a bit more lively. Well... maybe not the entire ship. But nonetheless, people were responding, showing signs of life. Adrian was the first, and seemingly the most pleased to finally have someone to talk to - which was odd, because Ella could've sworn he was off in some dream-land not moments before she'd called out. "Oh, so you're up and awake now, you day-dreamin' lazy bum!" The first half of the sentence came out like a question, before she drove it home with a light hearted jest.
A tiny giggle escaped the lady's lips as she looked down at the First Mate. He'd only been here a few weeks, and already he'd managed to meet everyone and get himself in such a high position. She almost envied him. Almost. He still had all those responsibilities - and responsibility was something that was already too much required of her. Not that she would ever complain about being a cloud-watcher. It was the the best job a girl could ask for. In any case, he seemed to get it all done and make it look easy. He had the uncanny ability of being able to make an enemy his best friend, just by talking to them...
It was... most interesting. But as the time passed, Adantiella realised that she had not yet answered the boy's question. "Yeah, clouds aren't much good for the sake of company..! Come on up!" She laughed, shifting her hair out of her face in a vain attempt to keep the wind from blowing it back into her vision. And suddenly, another sign of life. Linda seemed to be having a faux tantrum at her for disrupting her very important work. Ella laughed along with her, because they both knew that her work was definitely not at the top of her priority list. Heck, it probably wasn't even anywhere near the middle..
The two were basically Partners-in-Crime, despite their very diverse positions and locations on Captain Kusabana's ship. Adantiella would scout for any landmarks, or ominous storm clouds, or even other ships, and report back to Linda. And then Linda would mark a course that was beneficial for both Captain and Crew. It was an excellent system, and they made it work. "How are things down there, Lin!" She shouted, piercing through the volume of the wind as it attempted to carry her words away. "How's my favourite Navigator doing?!"
A smile grew on Kusabana's face when Adantiella called down to the deck to see what everyone was doing. It seemed that the other crew mates were just as bored as her. The same thing could be said about Adrian, since he volunteered to keep the cloud watcher occupyed up on the Crow's nest. The captain decided she might as well join them. It's better than doing nothing until God knows when.
"I hope you don't mind if I join you two!" Kusabana shouted up to the Crow's nest. As she made her way up there, Linda had made her appearance. From the way it sounded, she had things to do. That was a shame. If that wasn't the case, all four crew members could have a fun chat while waiting for something exciting to happen. Though, everyone has their important jobs to do. Captain, first mate, second mate, navigator, cloud watcher, cook, and doctor were only a few to mention.
Linda, the girl who worked almost always below-deck, and Adantiella, the girl who worked all the way at the top of the crow's nest were still good friends, despite their distance of workplace. In fact, it was the nature of their jobs that brought them together, as there were many things that Linda couldn't know without Adantiella's help.
"Little boring down here, but not terrible. Hey, that cloud to the north, you think it's an A-class or a B-class? The map is on the fritz again." Linda shouted back at her friend. The cloud in question was a tiny grey thing, possibly bringing the discomfort of a storm to a few unfortunate souls.
After Ella's call for him to come on up Adrian started feeling and looking much more lively. Finally something to occupy his time. Finally someone to socialize with. Better yet, he really did enjoy the crow's nest. Back on the Tempest's Reach he had stood in for the cloud watcher time and again and thusly came to enjoy the danger of such a place combined with an underlying tranquility.
Adrian darted across the deck so nauseatingly fast that it was almost as if he teleported instantaneously to the bottom of the mast with the crow's nest positioned precariously at its top. To pirates and non-pirates alike the crow's nest was probably the most frightening part of the ship. Fear did not seem to be a part of Adrian's vocabulary though. He started his way up the secured rope ladder that ascended the mast. Always quick to go anywhere he was two thirds up the ladder by the time Kusabana called out to he and Ella.
Adrian leaned back and turned himself sideways on the rope ladder. While hanging with one hand greeted Kusabana with an exaggerated wave. "We absolutely do not mind one sliver of a bit, Captain!" he called out to her before continuing his ascent to the top of the mast.
Once he was at the top he popped up his head at first and greeted Ella with a goofy and adorable grin. With one strong push of his hands against the railing he lifted himself on to the crow's nest. Rather than step inside immediately he steadied himself on the railing as if he were some sort of tight-rope walker, minus the skill or talent. With arms folded behind his back he strolled around the railing in a stalwart denial of its dangers until he reached the front. Once there, he fell back just enough so that he was leaning against the portion of the mast sticking above the crow's nest.
Without turning to face Lin and before Ella could respond, he shouted, "Well I give it a D for size and an F for colouration, Lin! That thing is pitiful!" He then looked down at Ella and remarked, "This job isn't so hard." followed by a comically innocent smirk.
Lin laughed. She had watched Adrian's little show of bravado with glee. It was definitely not something that she would do herself! The only time Ella had suckered her into coming up, the poor navigator had emptied the contents of her stomach all over the front of her robes. It took weeks to get the stain out of it. Adrian's response though had her laughing for an entirely separate reason.
When academics know a lot about a subject, they tend to laugh at the 'ignorance' of the uninformed. This was one of those cases. That little thing, a D-class? Preposterous!
"Adrian Belrose, you silly man! An A-Class is the smallest sort of storm cloud! An F-class is a raging tempest!" she chastised him innocently. Oh, looking up there was getting kinda dizzying...
Linda laid her head on the warm deck. She could stand the heights of a sky-ship, but not the heights of that tiny nest...
Ella just smiled as the crew basically acclimatised their current interest pattern at her. People were popping up out of nowhere, and all asking her questions. Granted, most of the questions were of the same nature. "Everyone is welcome in my humble abode! May you all find solace in its high-flying, high-risk atmostphere!" she laughed as the Captain asked to join in on the gathering up in the Crow's Nest. Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of a figure moving at almost inhuman speeds.
When it finally settled into a spot and her vision focused, the girl could only giggle at Adrian and his care-free movements. One slip-up when you were up here, and that was it. Gone. But true enough, he'd had experience in this sort of thing - or so she'd heard. As the boy jokingly dismissed her occupation as a simple job, Adantiella could barely stifle her laughter. "Ahh, whadda you know.." she jested. "You're just a kid.." In reality, he was only one year her junior, but it was good to know that she wasn't the youngest crew member here.
Swinging briefly back onto the job at hand, Ella stared off into the distance for a moment, pinpointing the cloud in question. It wasn't terribly big, but the was potential for a small storm. Immediately, the girl called back down to Lin, who had been very patient with her thus far. "Uhhm... Let's go with a B-Class for safe measure, Love!"
Life was beautiful up here...
Kusabana climbed into the Crow's nest with a confused look on her face. A-Class? B-Class? D-Class? This was confusing as some of the stuff that she learned in school. She never knew that clouds were seperated into different classes. The captain only knew that a white cloud means no storm, and a black cloud could be possible rain. That's why the ship needed Ella and Linda. Without those two, the airship might as well run into a tornado.
"I hope we're done talking about clouds. The way you guys mention them makes it hard to understand." Kusabana said with a slight chuckle.
All of the sudden conversation on board peaked the curiosity of one light blue haired boy. Poking his head up from the floorboards of the ship. After looking around, Drago climbed up on deck. He then walked over to the Navigator, and peered at the unique map from over her shoulder (he had to stand on his toes to see, however). After a few moments, he got back down on flat feet, and walked over to a crate a few inches away. He swung his lyre from around his back to his lap, and began plucking a few strings as he observed. He soon began humming a soft tune, playing along quietly. He didn't say anything, instead just watched the Navigator at work.
Normally, Lin got a little nervous when people were watching over her shoulder. It was almost always distracting, but she had a slight crush on Drago, so it was okay. He was a cute lad, if a bit odd at times, but she loved his music and poetry. It was always good to have someone so entertaining on board.
Waving a hand over the map, making little gestures on it, she updated things that the map hadn't picked up on, changing the classification of that cloud just in case. With that note done before she forgot, Linda turned and smiled at the skald.
"Good morning, Drago! Did you sleep well?" she hoped to make pleasant enough conversation with him, so maybe her feelings might be reciprocated. Linda had been trying for a while, not just on Drago, but on almost every man (and some women) she had ever met. Going her whole life with a distinct lack of her feelings being reciprocated, she sometimes came off as just a little desperate. Linda was nice, but she wasn't much to look at...
Adrian leaned to the side and smiled at Lin as she chastised him. What fun it was to just let go and be silly. It certainly made people smile, and that is what Adrian liked about his tomfoolery. Certainly there were times when it was uncalled for, but adding to the idle banter was harmless enough. Ella chimed in as well, calling him a kid in her joking way. Of course, he knew she wasn't all that much older than he was. Though he certainly was one of the youngest on the ship.
"Weeeell," he started as he went back to strolling back and forth along the railing of the crow's nest, "I suppose I am just a kid. A silly little kid with his head in the clouds, literally even!" he exclaimed excitedly. His excited shout was followed up by a precarious hop from one side of the railing to the other. He landed only just on one foot and wobbled back and forth for a moment to accentuate the precariousness of his jump. He even felt himself start to fall but balanced himself quite well given a second.
Once balanced he crossed his arms across his chest and leaned back against the pillar of a mast sticking up out of the center again. He brought one leg back just enough to scratch the back of his opposite leg idly. "I wish a ship would just float on by so we could have some fun. Where's a genie when you need one." he complained with some level of exasperation behind his voice. In some sort of ritual display he raised his hands up above his head and looked up at the remaining sky above them. "Oh mighty god of piracy, bring us a ship to plunder. Or I fear I may perform the unthinkable... count the number of hairs on Ella and Kusabana's heads. Please spare me, oh god of piracy."
Adantiella laughed as Adrian contemplated his existence and the amount of time there was until they reached the next port - or rather, the amount of boredom that would fill their lives until such a time. "Yeah.. I don't particularly want you going through my hairs and counting them. Doesn't sound like fun sitting perfectly still like that. However.. If you start with the Captain, I'll gladly make an escape as you do."
The girl poked her tongue out playfully at the boy. "Or..." she suddenly smirked. I could count all of yours.. by yanking them out one by one! And I won't stop at your head. Over the years, I've found that pulling on a boy's leg hairs really hurts them... So, you wanna go down that road?" she laughed, her smirk ceasing to fade.
Hearing the young woman's question, Drago set his Lyre down beside him, and smiled. "Hey there, Lyn!" He said, his voice somewhat musical sounding. He rarely ever talked, yet his voice was what many would call "beautiful". He stood, and walked a step forward so he was beside her. "Yeah, I slept pretty well. And you?" he asked friendly. He wasn't much of a social being, but he was working on getting better at it as time went on. He brushed a stray strand of hair from his eyes as he waited for a response.
"I agree with Adantiella. Instead of you counting the number of hairs on our head, let's see how many you have." Kusabana laughed, as well. She didn't think that Adrian would look very handsome being bold. Though, the thought of it was pretty comical in her mind. Actually, it would be entertaining if the cloud watcher did start yanking every string of hair off the first mate. It might seem cruel, but very entertaining.
The captain her eyes on the sky. Maybe fortune would strike the pirates, and a ship will eventually fly nearby. It could even be the world's smallest merchant ship. Anything at all will do.
Ooh, that voice. It always got to Lin, there was just no resisting it. If he wasn't talking, Linda could say what she liked, but the moment he opened his mouth she went weak at the knees.
"O-oh, yes, I slept wonderfully, thanks for asking. So, um..." Linda had immediately run out of things to say. She wished upon her lucky star for something to happen to distract them both from the awkward silence that was inevitably ensuing.
Her wish came true. The strange enchanted map made a tiny 'ping' noise, calling the Navigator back to her work. The sensors had picked up a moving object, hiding in that cloud from earlier. It was common for merchant ships to hide in the clouds, especially if they knew pirates were about.
"Captain! We've got a ship on the map! Not sure how big, it's in the cloud." Linda called up. Maybe a boredom breaker was just what they needed!
"Everyone! Get to your postions! We got a ship to rob!" Kusabana order. It was about time sometime exciting happened. She jumped down from the crow's nest and grabbed on to the robe ladder. When she got to the bottom of the robe ladder, she started putting her combat gloves on. This could be a difficult job. Even if it was a merchant ship, it could be heavily armed. That was the problem with large, wealthy merchant ships. They would usually hire a large group of pirates or mercenaries for protection. Though, the captain really can't complain. Without them, most of thrill would be gone.
Adrian could only stare down in horror as the girl's threatened to count his hair by pulling every last one out. Suddenly the sense of danger in the lofty perch skyrocketed. They would probably try it too with how the day had been going so far. He shook his head back and forth, denying them that opportunity. He was prepared to throw himself from the crow's nest if it came to such a horrific circumstance.
But then, a thought struck him just as Ella concluded her threat. If she wasn't going to stop at his head that meant something entirely different. While certainly not the hairiest of men, there were still certain forbidden areas that he had hair. Would she go that far? How awful. How embarassing... for her. Suddenly his look of horror changed to an amused grin. A truly sinister look seldom seen on the jovial first mate.
"Well, if you really want to pluck away all my hair... I mean if you're going to be so bold." he said with the slightest chuckle. He slumped back against the mast and stretched his arms out behind his head. "I guess I could give you what you want. Try not to pull too hard, I can be a bit sensitive to such things." A level of vagueity certainly came with what he said so he gave a hardly subtle wink to drive the point home.
Adrian's attention was swiftly pulled away from his crewmate though as Linda called up to them with news of a ship hiding in the cloud. A tactic he was very much aware of, especially with ships that wanted to remain undetected or unbothered. It was used quite often in areas known to be home to pirates. What a sad state of affairs then that even their sly use of the weather wouldn't save them from plunder today.
With great enthusiasm he looked up at the cloud and grinned with boyish delight. "Haha, a ship ripe for the plundering floats above! To arms!" he shouted to everyone on and below decks right after Kusabana's order. Neglecting to even see Ella's response, he hopped over to the rope ladder and climbed down to the deck quickly. As the first mate it was his job to oversee just as much as it was Kusabana's. He continued to smile with child-like glee and stared up at the cloud overhead. This was the excitement he lived for, that much was apparent.
Drago gave Lin a friendly smile as she tried to figure out what to say. It was obvious that neither of them were very skilled with conversation, so it didn't make it as awkward. He was about to ask how the weather was looking when she alerted everyone to an incoming ship. "A fight?" he asked, slightly unsure. He wasn't a huge fan of battles, but he was used to it by now. He stood, and picked up his lyre. While not very good at hand-to-hand combat, he knew of certain songs that would help his shipmates to better fight. Despite that, he touched the strap of the lyre, feeling to make sure the dagger was still in place in the sheath. "How big is the ship?" he asked Lin nervously.
Before Adantiella could give Adrian any kind of cheeky response, alarm bells began to go off in her mind, as they had in everyone else's. It was about time! You certainly wouldn't have to ask the girl twice to take a swing at the action. "Aye, To Arms!" She replied to Adrian's call. Everyone had seemed to vacate the Crow's Nest rather quickly, leaving her alone once more. However, this time it really didn't matter. They were about to kick some butts and take a few names!
With a quick motion, she grabbed Eagle Eye from her belt and stared directly forward at the cloud that loomed closer and closer to their vessel. Out of the white the bow of the once masked airship escaped. It seemed like a medium sized aircraft, and by the look of it, under the command of a rather well-off owner. With yet another swift motion, the girl replaced her spyglass and removed her sword from it's sheath, holding it high in the air. "Yar! Dead be They, Rich be We!" She cried out, hoping that her voice would carry below to the rest of her crew.
What a battle this would be.. Adantiella relished in the thought of something *finally* happening around her. She smiled as the sun beamed down on them all - her darkness manipulation would work wonders today, that was for sure. As the distance between the vessels grew less and less, the girl's azure eyes began to scan the oncoming airship for personal targets. Her battle station was up in the Crow's Nest, where she could see everything, get to everything.
"Cap'n!" she called down to Kusabana, "Is our ship armed? A broadside will sound pretty decent in a moment!"
((OOC: Again, I apologize for not posting for a long time. That will not happen, anymore.))
"Yes, our ship is armed." Kusbana called back up to Adantiella. She had made sure to load up on cannon balls at the last port they visited. She quickly loaded a few of the cannons they had on deck. There might not be no need to use them, but you can never be too careful. There is no telling what this ship could be hiding. For all they now, that ship's cannons might shot harpoons. Now, that made the captain wonder if that is possible for the technology of cannons. She should have studied ship equipment more before leaving her home.
"Perpare yourselves, crew! We are about to board ship!" Kusabana called out, hoping that everyone could hear. As the two ships started to become side by side, the captain quickly grabbed a plank of wood. She placed the wood between the side of the two ships. Instead of invading, she waited to see what the opposite would do. Looting ships and airship battles were like a game of chess. You must plan your moves quickly and carefully. One mistake could ruin the entire game.
"Don't worry, can't be that big if it's hiding in such a small cloud!" Lin winked at Drago. She hoped it would reassure him, but she knew the boy wasn't exactly a fighter. Fortunately, when it came to battle, there was one thing that Lin could always rely on. She pulled out the object of her reliance from a hip-holster and stroked it.
"They can't hide from Dead-Eye here!" she loaded the clockwork revolver with six shots. It was heavy and took both hands for Lin to hold properly, but the enchanted gears made the weapon exceptionally powerful, at least on par with most black powder muskets. Not to mention the gunmage was a keen shot. Missing her target was not an option.
Adrian Belrose
Unlike his Captain, who was more likely to wait to be struck at by the opposing ship, Adrian was not one to wait. Especially not when there was fun and loot to be had. As soon as the plank went down he was scurrying across it to the other ship like a mouse to cheese. The opposition had not been completely caught unawares by the pirates that had just come up next to them. They certainly had their own eyes on the sky, and now on their would-be looters. It was that much more entertaining when they did not catch the ship completely off guard.
The crew of the merchant ship, mercenary defenders most likely, rose to the top deck as their own cloud watcher shouted, "Pirates coming aboard! All hands!"
One such defender stood by the plank with sabre drawn and a mean looking scowl on his face. Contrary to the cheerfully mocking grin Adrian had going. The man took a maddened swipe at his smaller opponent which was deftly dodge by a swift backtrack along the precarious boardwalk that connected the two ships. A swift backtrack followed by a yet swifter charge forward which ended in a flying kick to the man's face that sent him sprawling backwards onto the deck of the merchant ship.
"All hands and no feet, it seems. Sometimes I wonder about you limp-wristed mercenaries." Adrian jived at his fallen foe. Clever taunting aside, the fight ready crew of the merchant ship had almost all come to the upper deck and were closing in on the somewhat acrobatic pirate doing the taunting. Adrian looked up from his small victory and smiled at the sabre wielding gang forming a half circle around him.
"Now, now, can't we all just put our swords down and get along? Surely you'd all prefer--" Adrian started to say before a single crewman charged for him, swinging his sword wildly and with little skill, talent or expertise. The man found himself sprawled on the edge of the deck after a sudden side-step and swipe of Adrian's leg. Adrian took advantage of the small hole in the semi-circle once covered by the man and hopped over to and up to a raised half-deck at the front of the ship.
"Didn't your mother ever tell you not to run with sharp objects? Be glad you didn't fall on that sabre when you tripped." he jived once more. In all seriousness though he was severely outnumbered and would soon fall if no one decided to followed. A concern he certainly knew he needed to address. And he did as he shouted back to the other ship, "As much as I enjoy flattening old men and mercenaries by myself I would appreciate a crew to back me up!"
