The Derp Queen
Ryo Watanabe

Element: Time
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Power: Manipulation over the perception of time, submitting a person’s mind to perceive time as going slower or faster than it actually is. She can slow down an event or speed it up depending on her will, though usually she leaves it alone.

Personality: Ryo is complacent and calm, never cracking a full smile or frown as she lacked the ability to feel true excitement or that “buzz” of adrenaline. She faces life with a mutual face. She is observant, always looking and taking in everything that others do. Some say she doesn’t even blink, as she is too busy consuming the information that should later be placed into history at the hands of Time. She is diligent and never breaks a promise. Respectable and reserved, she doesn’t say too much when it isn’t needed. Ryo is intelligent but distant, finding herself wrapped up in work rather than other human beings as to her, they move too fast and are too easily ruffled.

Physical Description:
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

History: Growing on the western tip of the island, Ryo cherished nature and the traditions of the island, keeping to her habitual work with clocks. Since the first birth of Time, life after life, Ryo found herself sketching out clocks, constructing and molding them from stone, copper, metal, and wood. It became known that Time was always going to end up doing pretty much the same thing: creating artistic and renowned clocks that lasted centuries if kept well. It was one thing that Time held pride in and the entire island knew when Time was in their presence when little drawings of dials popped up.

Another way that many knew of Time’s rebirth, was the peculiar calm and patience of the western founding family’s child. Ryo grew up always very stable and never impatient or jumping around. She was the essence of calm. It was a trouble for the parents in every life Time went through but they knew there was nothing they could do except to motivate her to search for the Sun, as only that element would fix what was broken. Ryo wasn’t exactly jumping for joy at the idea of researching and finding where the Sun may be. She was mutual and resigned but did so for the other elements, as she was the most patient of them all. Ryo knew that out of all of the elements, she would be able to search and never get agitated by finding nothing, for she knew it would be quite a feat. Ryo never gave up, as she had all the time in the world. Rebirth after rebirth, Ryo stayed constant with her work, searching and building clocks, searching and building clocks, searching and building clocks… and wondering if it was truly wrong of her not to feel excitement. In a way, she found it liberating. Nothing could surprise her, nothing could really disappoint her, nothing felt unbearable as she just ticked away like a clock. If anything, she made others impatient. It was as if they saw the clock in her eyes, ticking away at their lives while she knew that no matter what, there was always another life. Was it really a curse or a blessing for her to lack that emotion?

Extra: Ryo was born without the ability to feel excitement.

@Everlasting Nirvana: Second characters are open for anyone who wants to take one up :D

[Edited on=01/07/11]

I officially encourage second characters. But I'm thinking after three or four more days I'm going to open the IC thread.
