The guard stepped forwards, the two with the clubs holding Tayrn in place as the one with the chain took a hammer and a spike and broke open the link on the chain holding his manacle around his neck to the wall. After mashing and fastening the now loose chain into the chain the guard now held they pulled him to his feet and with the two guards holding each arm and the chain holding one staying behind they escorted him out of the prison. He was escorted towards the castle. (he isn't entering the throne room yet.) The steward lead Drak to the castle as well, though the two entered through slightly different entrances than the convict. Making their way to the thrown room they entered, and the steward lead the wizard to the side, where also stood an elf and a human. He was then told to wait there. and with that the steward turned and headed out of the room from a back entrance that was closer the thrown. Dre'sha turned his head to look at the drab creature walking into the room. He alsomt gagged at how much this one screamed of scholar. His skin was pail and looked clammy, he likely never left his library by the elf's making. Either way it was not for him to decide. He just looked forwards once more. |

Drak stood there, as he wa told. normally he didn;t take orders from anyone, let alone a steward. He looked over at the elf and other human. Interesting.....what was going on? Doodleburf ribbited contently as he approached the two of them. "Good day my good gentlemen.....can yo utell me why in the nameo choas I was called here?" He is black eyes looked over the two of them, not looking for weapons, more like studying them, as if they were specimens he would disect. which he liked to do often, disect stuff that was, even trisect, seeing how thigns wrorked icreased his knowledge of living things. He looked away from the two other sapient beings and studied the castle anteroom. So the some royal wanted them...which one. Could be the king, queen, prince, princess. He usally preferred the males over the females, they usually read more books, unless the females were a bookish girl, in which case they read books too. He ran a pale hand through his black hair. He hated waiting this long, even after years of magical practice, experiements and battle one would think a Wizard would learn patience, especially one who worked with extra-planar creatures and the undead as often as he did. Yeah right. If anything it made him more impatient for the living. He then opened his ingrediant pouch and began to sort through it. He had enouh onyx to resurrect fifty or so skeletons or zombies, not that he could ever conttrol more than two or three at a time, it was still useful. Ingrients for all his spells were in there, enough for fifty uses each, whilst heavy sometimes, it did save a lot of trouble when iy came to cast a spell. By far the thing he liked to see was casting fireball into a group of goblins, then watching them die a slow death by flame. Humans were even funnier to watch, their screams didn't make him pity them, they were in his way so he fried them unto oblivion. Edited by soulpelt, April 23, 2011, 3:47 pm.

((ZOMG WE ARE MOVING FORWARD YAAAAY.)) Orion's nose wrinkled at the sight of Drak. He couldn't help it; he judged the man by his pale skin, robes, frog and made a few assumptions. However, in the midst of his thoughts, Orion caught himself and forced a small smile on his face. "I know not our cause but that 'tis urgent, however, mine companion knoweth better than I. Surely thou art to accompany us?" This man seemeth a practitioner of darker magices...Heironeous, I pray, let not this wizard be a necromancer, Orion thought earnestly in his head. The only thing worse than working with a necromancer would be working with a criminal. |

Dre'sha looked over that the man whom arrived at the chamber and listened and watched. He didn't say anything at the point till Orion had given his response. At which point he only offered a simple "The whims of Royalty are many." He answered rather disregardingly. It was true, they were but commoners being summoned by royals, as such they were but to attend and listen. After a few minutes had passed the back door to the chamber opened and in walked a middle aged man clad in fine clothing of red and purple. There was no crown upon his head, nor a scepter in his hand, but he held a certain presence of authority about him. Walking up and sitting himself upon the throne the man with black hair, mingled with gray motioned them to approach. As the man had entered, fully armored and armed guards had entered the room as well, two of which flanked the throne as he sat upon it. Dre'sha gave a bow, stepped forwards to about 10 feet from throne and stopped when the man held up a hand to signal him to stop, then took a knee and bowed his head to the man. "Indeed my my good Paladine. I believe I am to join you on this adventure." He smiled some and shrugged at other males words. "Royalty always seem to ignore us until they need something. Usually something very messy, and usually very scary for them. Ever try to keep back goblin raids with only two skeletons and Lemure? It's not very fun, especially if some bloody villager thinks ones monsters are part fo the goblins forces." He had to assure them his creatures were there to help stop the Goblin raids. Drak looked over at the man with a prescense of importance. Was this the one who needed them for the task? Interesting. He entered the throne room with the others and followed the other mans action, bowing on one knee. His toad watched a fly that was nearby and in a flash of pink tongue Doodleburf ate the fly, then ribbited contently on his master shoulder. Drak looked up at the thoned man and said in a respectful tone, the one he used whenver he had to delal with royalty or someone of importance, "My Lord, what need is there for us to be summoned?" His black eyes stared into the eyes of the man on the throne. Edited by soulpelt, April 25, 2011, 2:51 pm.

((Sorry once again for the long delay - I've become terribly ill as of late.)) Again the paladin's nose wrinkled as Drak spoke. Skeletons? Lemure? No. This man was a necromancer, wasn't he!? Heironious, grant me strength. Well, at least the man wasn't a criminal. At least they weren't going to make him work with a criminal. Orion's actions mirrored his elven companion's as the man who seemed so important entered the room. He managed to keep from wrinkling his nose a third time as Drak's frog ate a fly but it took a large effort from his part. As Drak had already spoken, Orion remained silent. When the had all come before the throne the man sat upon it looked at them, his brow furrowed and and hands touched together as though in casual stance of the situation at hand. "The need is of my whim." He answered flatly. Kings can summon those whom they wish after all. He then leaned farther back in his throne as he looked at them. "There is a situation which I would have investigated" He commented. "reports of abnormal behavior with certain species and races have been reported and I would have them looked into. It is your task to investigate and find what information can be found about the oddities." he explained rather plainly the situation at hand. |

"My Lord," Orion spoke up, "A bit more detail, if it pleases thou? Where and whom art we to investigate? Whither shalt we sojourn to fulfill thy desires? What, exactly art the 'abnormal behaviors' thou woulds have us learn of?" Yes, Orion was annoyed with being at the beck and call of those superior to him - which were many - but being anything but polite (if not inquisitive) wasn't going to get them anywhere. Although it didn't occur to Orion, he should have hoped to himself his speech pattern didn't annoy the man with their task - it was force of habit at this point to where he didn't even realize he was speaking in a manner others might find odd. |

"As my armored friend here stated, we need to know the specifics of what we are investigated, my lord." He said respectfully. Drak looked over at the armored man and smiled some. Nobility rarely thought of anything but themselves, and whe nthey did it was something they didn't like seeing. Drak swore that the Gods allowed nobility around just to keep adventuresl ike himself humble. Doodleburf ribbited still and looked up at the man with a content gaze, then looked away, no doubt wanting more flies. Tha twas the good thign about havign a toad as a familiar, flies and other flying insects never got too close. "What species are we looking into? Dragonkin, goblinkin, bugbears, beholders, extra-planar creatures?" Drak was always annoyed when he wasn't given proper details of a mission, wanted to make him use chill touch on the orderers head and maybe bring some sense to them.

Dre'sha just closed his eyes to himself, wishing it would soon be over. Obviously these two had no idea how to deal with royalty. Yet despite the flaws he wish he could just turn away and walk out of the room while they where dealt with. The man sat there upon the throne looked to Orion, and went to speak, when the wizard in turn spoke out as well. The man's eyes narrowed at the set of them under furrowed brows. "When I wish to impart to you the details of your mission, I shall do so, and at my leisure, and not a moment prior. You will do well to remember that." He stated flatly, a sense of authority spiking in his voice. He turned and motioned to a servant to the side of the room, who turned and picked up a small stand, bringing it over and setting it down in front of the three gathered before the throne. "You sill see, the region in questions have been marked with red." he commented. At this point, Dre'sha stood after nodding his head to get a better view of the chart. It was a map of the region, and red tacks had been stuck into the map around the Tun Marshes, the farsea marshes, as well as the small river that connected them to the Dragonmere lake. Also father west along the riverbed and the reaching woods had been tacked off. "you are to escort an investigator through the areas in question and insure that he is able to report any abnormalities that he finds. Do you understand?" He asked. |

"Traverse these marked areas with an investigator," said Orion, who had admittedly had very little experience with nobility, "insure their safety. Our job, to protect him, his, investigate. 'Tis clear, m'lord." Next to him he could see Dre'sha had tensed - so he'd misspoken. The poor elf had always done his best to remind Orion to shut his mouth around important people, but the paladin's zeal and desire to get up and going usually got the better of him. All he could do at this point is hope Dre'sha wouldn't lecture him afterward. As for the points they'd been assigned - that was quite a bit of travel. This wasn't going to be a short trip. ((Hey, I figured Orion would probably suck around the nobles, considering his knowledge: nobility isn't...That's kind of an odd pattern, I never seem to play anyone who knows when to shut up around important people. Hrm. *shrug*)) |

"Of course my lord, I was simply pointing out making us go somewhere without the full details in a foolish venture. It tends to leave us surrounded by VERY angry elementals." Drak said chuckling softly to himself. The reason he was so terrible around nobility was because he couldn't stand waiting for their mouth to catch up with their pride, it made him so impatient, they rarely though beyond the tip of their nose, and that was sometimes stretching it. He stood with the other male and followed him to the map. He was not familiar with the swamps. However, since it was swamps he would somewhat in his element, among death, well really dead bodies that could be used to make skeletons or zombies to be fodder for attacks. "So we are to escort this investigator? Sounds like a very good venture." (As I stated.....Drak gets very impatient, very easily with other people. Nobility especially. )

"The investigator, he-" Orion began, trailing off. Great. He was about to ask a question and the noble was already irritated with their demands for more details, not to mention even Orion could sense the necromancer was dancing all over the wrong lines. However, Orion couldn't decide which was worse - asking for more details or leaving a sentence unfinished. Briefly Orion considered covering his pause with a cough but instead just left it as a thought pause and finished his query. "He shalt join us soon?" ((XD haha. I guess it's good we have Dre'sha to deal with people...er, in the future, I guess...)) Edited by Rii Dono, May 7, 2011, 3:09 am.

Sat there, the man looked at the wizard, his face calm and unstressed but when he spoke it was without the cut or tone of coldness. "well, our dear wizard, if you find my briefing to be too slow of pace, you are most welcome, to excuse yourself from the throne hall and from the expedition. Should it not be the case, kindly keep yourself content taking the details that are given till they are all given out." The man said quite simply, without a sharp nature to it, but none the less, the statement was clear, shut up or get out. Looking then to the paladin the man spoke up once more. "The investigator is at the moment in dispose. They is well aware of the situation and will be joining us as soon able." He explained. "there are still some matters that are unknown to us on this dilemma, which is the cause of you being commissioned to accompany investigator, and insure that their able to make their report without hindrance. Are you clear as to what your mission is?" He asked. (Remember, Dre'sha is just my DMC. I guild you through him when need be, but for the most part you're going to half to be doing it yourself) Edited by Jester, May 8, 2011, 3:51 am.

((Eh, fair enough. So, as always, if my character doesn't screw up NPC interactions, someone else's will XD))Orion nodded. "'Tis well understood, My Lord." Since he was now on guard, he managed to say that and nothing more, instead of adding on a request to know when they'd meet or what they were to do in the meanwhile - maybe if he just held his tongue, their employer would say and they could get out of there without stepping on any more cracks. Part of Orion hoped that Drak would speak impatiently where Orion hadn't and be excused, although another part wanted to be fair as at least Drak wasn't - didn't appear to be - evil and he (probably) would be useful. Swampland and the other environments they were to be traversing seemed to be a place that the wizard would be at home in. Orion himself hated anything even remotely like a marshland, as walking in armor required effort enough on dry ground. Tall grasslands that tripped up even a lightly burdened man were a nightmare to Orion, the last thing he needed was deep, soupy mud. If walking around wasn't bad enough, when he got out of it, his armor would all need to be polished, and not just because the paladin prided himself in its shine. Rusty armor was worthless armor. In any case, Drak would be useful, and more likely than not Orion would just have to get over his apprehensions. Once again, he reminded himself that at least no one here was a criminal. |

Drak mentally rolled his eyes at the noble and said, "Of course, my lord. Perhaps working with extra-planar creatures has made me impatient." These were when he wished used to use Chill touch on his fellow mans head, show them that the entire world did not revolve around their whims and in fact there were forces just as power as The Gods who could make their lives VERY miserable. He looked over the map again, studying the swampland carefully. He would need to be careful with Fireball, all those decomposing gases made any explosion, natural or magical, even bigger. He nearly burned his face off with a stunt like that, and he took out atleast a mile of swamp with the wild fire afterwards. "Our investigator in indisposed.....well that's efficient..." Drak thought to himself as he went away from the map and looked to the man in armor, who would be suffering greatly in the swamp. "what is your name? since we are to be working together might as well get to know you. My name is Drak Riskin, Wizard. This is my Familiar, Doodleburf." He held out a white skin hand for the armored man to shake. Just becuase he practiced some Necromancy didn't mean he had to be evil, cruel, maybe a little sadistic in battle, but hey, everyone had their flaws. Edited by soulpelt, May 10, 2011, 8:01 pm.

Orion coughed. "I mean no rudeness, but an impression cometh to me that his Lordship doth not care for the trifle of mine name, nor thine - wherefore dost thou hold thy peace a moment 'til we art excused?" There was a slight coldness in the paladin's tone, on three counts - they were already stepping on their commissioner's toes, or at least the toes of his patience, and it was mostly, Orion felt, Drak's fault. He did not particularly want to touch the wizard's hand - he would, but had little desire to - and finally, the action made his apology seem insincere. Orion could think, I must not judge this man all he wanted to - he was totally judging Drak. Orion didn't believe for a second the apology was sincere, and he already had a poor opinion of him. He barely even heard the names Drak gave. The only one of the three - Drak, Riskin, and Doodleburf - that he did catch was Drak and only because that came first before Orion's thoughts turned from listening to worrying that the nobility in the same room would grow too impatient with them and send them off. Yes, nobility was overly self-important but it was due to their requirements that Orion made his living. Yes, Orion would have happily gone on missions just for the betterment of mankind, but he had to eat, too. So he didn't want to lose this opportunity. So Orion was colder with Drak than he would have been in other circumstances as he wrestled with his predispositions towards the wizard. Orion would have liked to ask if they were excused but that, at least, was something he knew better than to do. ((:D Heh! I know sometimes I don't quite get Orion's Middle English quite right...but I'm kind of proud of that bit. Go, me!)) Edited by Rii Dono, May 11, 2011, 6:46 am.

The man at the throne sat there, eyebrow cocked at those gathered as they prattled about. He cleared his throat. "You are dismissed. You will be lead to where you shall wait for the investigator to conclude their business." he said, turning and walking around towards the door that he had entered from, the guards fallowing. The attendant, who had brought the map turned to look at them and gave a slight bow. "if you would fall me sirs." They remarked and started to lead them out of the room and through the hallways. Making their way to a room the attendant opened the door and motioned them in. Inside were several chairs, and what looked like a cushioned bench. several large windows lined one of the wall, shining light into the room, and in the far corner of the room sat what looked to be a harpsichord. |

Drak nodded and followed after the man. He took note of what directions they took in case something very bad happen. Castles always seemed to have SOME kind of trap, extra-planar guardian or some very drunk flesh-and-bone men looking for a fight. As they entered the room his dark eyes went to the instrument and he smiled. He liked playing those, he even knew a few songs to play. He walked over to it and cracked all his finger interlocking them pushing out. He pulled up the small bench and sat down. Thinking for a minute he began to play an old song he knew, 'The Dragons Cradle', which started out slow, and then became fast paced. He hummed the tune as he played. Maggot white fingers played over the keys carefully, making sure not to miss any notes or mix any up. If any of his companions wanted to speak to him he would try his best to speak to them and play. however his memory, and hands, seemed to have betrayed him because he missed notes, got the tune wrong and over all made a fool of himself. The chaotic mess soon came to a stop with Drak muttering to himself about blasted instruments, his memory and the world in general. Still grumbling he was tempted to use Fireball on the blasted thing, and if anyone said anything he'd be tempted to show them how angry a skeleton could seem when being chased by one with a net and trident. Needless to say he wasn't in the best of moods at that moment, the opposite of his usually mood. (Poor Drak made an utter fool of himself....) Edited by soulpelt, June 2, 2011, 2:48 am.

Orion's demeanor became more and more irate as Drak played, though he tried his best not to show he had an ear enough for music that Drak's racket made his fingers twitch in desire to throttle him. His face scrunched up in a silent wince and relief overtook his figure's agitated stance once the 'music' ceased. In seeing Drak now in a spoiled mood from the failure, pity swept through the paladin who, still repulsed by the wizard's dark practices, still would rather improve his new comrade's mood. "Apologies, ally, but thy name - I scarcely caught it. 'Twas Drak? Mine own, 'tis Orion Terridae. 'Tis mine pleasure to work with thee." No. It wasn't. But he certainly wasn't going to let his personal beliefs and biases affect more than his thoughts about Drak. If he acted towards Drak the way he truly felt, that could compromise their mission, or at least Drak would pick up on it and make the mission unpleasant so long as they were together. |

The guard's footsteps lead the way down the hallway as he lead his 'guests' to the large room which housed the others whom were waiting for the investigator. Pushing open the door he motioned into the room for his charge. (short ass post for little action yeah get used to them. EN, that's your Que .) |

"Well my good sir it does appear as if we have arrived at my destination. I thank thee for your kindness now you are free to leave." Turning toward the guard so only he could see he gave him a smirk that should get his blood boiling. Turning toward the room he happened to catch the end of a horrible harpsicord player. Clearing his throat he walked to the table and set his bag down. "Greetings my fellows it appears as if you will be the men accompanying me on this journey. My name is Mazrim Taim I am a researcher contracted to study the weird occurrences. My I ask of you your names?" |

Drak turned around and looked at the one called Orion. Trying to make his mood as best as possible, doing a half good job at it he said, "Indeed my armored fellow. Drak Riskin at your service, pleasure to finally know your name, Orion." He could sulk at the world later, right now he needed to get this job done, perhaps once they were in their rooms at and inn or outside under the stars he could relieve some of his a anger on a skeleton. luckily they never fought back unless told too and usually didn't 'die' from having their bony spines strangled. with a silent swish of his robes and Doodleburf ribbiting softly he looked to the man who had just walked in. "Well there he is. The man of the hour!" Drak said with a small smile, and laughing abit. It seemed he could get over his down moods quite easily. Knowing that death was inevitable, unless he chose to go completely down the Necromancer path, he had decided to make his life as fun as possible, and try to make sure others had somewhat o fa good time, even if he might have to use their corpse later on. "My name is Drak Riskin. Plasure to meet you, Mazrim." (EN!! You stole that from The Wheel of time!!! Unless that False Dragon could go to different world like the one here and be whoever he wanted to be......Rand will be most displeased. )

Orion's face paled slightly. Wait, why was this man accompanied by a guard? Curse it all, he didn't want to work with a crimi- No. Breathing in deeply and letting out a careful breath, doing his best not to have his physical calm be too evident, Orion reminded himself that not everyone with a guard at their heels was automatically a criminal. How could he make such assumptions? That was just rude. Ah, now he almost wanted to laugh at himself. They were there to protect this man as he investigated, not babysit him. How could he be someone of dubious ethics? For shame, Orion, he chided himself. "Orion Terridae," he said once again, "I am well pleased to meet thee both. Shalt we not be on our way, then?" |

(god damn you bastards sit around for ever and never post! DIVINE PUNISHMENT!!!) After several hours of the party standing around looking at each other after Orion's statement the sun had set and a young boy had entered the room with a small candle and match stick, he lit the stick on the candle and went about lighting the candles on the wall, washing the room in low light. The boy was disturbed by the group of people who stood there silent in the low dull light, not moving, speaking, or blinking, only faintly breathing even. He poked them all, the "researcher" he poked in the eye just to be sure, however there was no response so he left. After a few minutes later a woman entered the room, she seemed to be human, or a half-elf favoring her human roots, though her hair was down as one could not make out the ears. She was clad in a burgundy shirt and a pair of brown pants. She had with her a pack and her chestnut hair hung at about mid shoulder-blade. She looked about and cocked and eyebrow. "you're to be my escorts?" She asked seeming rather perturbed by the nature. Suddenly every was aware they had been standing there FOREVER! (HINT!!!HINT!!!) And one of them happened to have a very sharp pain in his eye out of nowhere. |
