Folly sat in the hot water in silence, the heat nothing compared to her temper. She was livid at the moment and obviously not seeing clearly. She was being squeezed by those bangles from hell, only erking her more and more. Folly wasn't about to forgive and forget anything. Everything she did to that darn human was deserved. Truthfully, anything she'd ever did to any human for that matter was deserved. Every master from her past, except for a select few, were complete a-holes she had wished never touched her humble abode. If only she could stay in her can, she'd be content enough to live eternity without one inkling of regret. Freedom to roam was a fantasy she'd long accepted as just that, a fantasy. She was content with lonliness at this point.

She grit her teeth together, allowing Allen his last request for his clothes back- not even having the energy to do something to his clothes to embarass him further. She was so over it. As soon as he was gone, she would poof out of her human camoflauge and go back into her home.

Wait... he was leaving the spray can? Slowly, Folly saw through the red and realized that she'd only get stuck with some other loser, and probably some dumb bum that had lost his cash in a casino. She soon came to her senses and realized that Allen, though being a complete moron that pinched at every one of her nerves, was probably the best deal she'd gotten in the last century. She was just too stubborn to acknowledge it. She was too full of pride to get up and stop Allen from leaving.

Only after Allen had left the room had Folly finally let out a sigh of aggitation. "Must I? This sucks," she let out in a groan as she hopped out of the Jacuzzi, poofed on a T-shirt and shorts that resembled someone's outside, though hers was different colors, and grabbed up her can. She weighed her choices. Either she could go after Allen, embarass herself, and be stuck playing his girlfriend until he croaked, or she could wait for the next bum to command her to do every little bidding. It really was the lesser of two evils. With another groan, Folly opened the door and went after Allen.

"You really think you can get rid of me that easily? I'm going to haunt you until your dying day," Folly said teasingly as her way of saying that she didn't want him to go. She was not about to get mushy or gushy over this tragedy.

Allen quietly stepped out of the Jacuzzi room, his head hanging low. Man, this was depressing! Why did he have to be such an idiot?! All he had to do was be nice to her, and they probably would have gotten along just fine. He had been too selfish. He knew how it was to be underappreciated, to be left alone with no one else to even talk with. But no! He had to get desperate; he had to want more than just someone to hang out with. Of course, the very nature of genies was to give you your greatest desires. However, he had taken it farther than what was tolerable.

Allen shook his head, running his hand through his hair. “Well, looks like I’m off to go ruin the rest of my life.” Allen moaned to himself. He began to move down the hallway slowly, his hands in his pockets, his head hanging, eyes fixated on the floor in front of him. He was surprised he didn’t think about suicide. This was quite easily the biggest screw up of his life. It would have been a natural thought to go to something as extreme as taking his own life. At this point, he wasn’t sure he had much to live for, anyway.

Allen was surprised to hear the door open behind him. He slowly turned, finding himself face to face with none other than Folly. She was dressed different, something that looked modern. This didn’t quite lighten his mood, though. What, was she here just to send him flying down the hall? Set one final curse on him? Put him through the same kind of torture he’d put her through? If so, Allen didn’t care anymore. It would have been a deserving punishment. Judging by the sort of smile on the genie’s face, he had a feeling it was going to be miserable.

Folly’s words told a different story. She seemed to want to stay with him. There was only one word going through Allen’s head at that moment. ”…Really…?” Allen asked. He turned his body around, facing the genie, an eyebrow raised. He was confused. After all he’d done, how could she even consider coming back to him? “This isn’t a trick, is it? Not some cruel prank that I’m not going to understand till I’m forty? I mean, I’d get that. But you can’t be serious, can you?” Allen couldn’t believe it. Was she really coming back to him?

Allen walked back over to Folly. It was touching, in a way. Was she going to at least somewhat forgive him for what he had done? Was she coming back because she thought he would change, or because she didn’t want to risk getting someone worse? “Well… if you are… I promise, I’ll try and be a bit better. I’m… truly sorry I’m such a screw-up.” Allen could feel a tear coming to his eye. Though it was pretty obvious she wasn’t about to get all mushy about it, to him, it meant a lot that she was willing to give him a second chance. “If… it isn’t too much to ask… could I get a friendly hug…? If you’re really coming back, of course….” This was probably a bad idea. However, he wasn’t about to force her to do it if she didn’t want to. He was going to try and avoid that, if he could. He’d already abused that once.

Folly felt almost sick doing this but it really was for the better. If she didn't stick with Allen, she was sure some nasty, rich jerk would find her bottle and enslave her for life. In the long run, though she'd probably spite this decision for the rest of her life, going back to Allen was the best thing for her. And that's really what it came down to: How could any decision benefit her. Seeing as she was basically a slave, it should at least be alright for her to have that kind of mentality!

The look on Allen's face was amusing to Folly, yet another bonus to the whole ordeal. She was glad to see that he felt he was getting spoofed. "Of course it's a trick. Everything I do is a trick in one way or another so you're just going to have to deal," Folly continued to tease. Really, every word she said was true. If anything, she was the only one benefitting from this deal. She was sure to drive Allen miserable and to the brink (and over the brink) of insanity. Ah, the joys and perils of being a genie enslaved to a fool. But what else was a Jester to do but mirror a fool's foolishness? Haha.

Folly began to back away slowly as he approached her. Ooh, boy. He had "that look"; the one that was all sentimental and mushy. She was about to take back everything she'd just said. Her feet itched to run and hide from the approaching moment of, she shuddered, friendship. Hey, if that's what Allen wanted then sure, she'd play the part of the friend though of course, she'd be a horrible one. Anything to keep herself sane and in slightly sensible hands.

"Ay, ay. Listen here, screw up, don't try pulling any tears on me or anything of the sort,"
Folly said hesitantly, feeling a bullet of sweat form on her brow. Holding hands had been more than enough physical contact and intimacy for eternity. "I'm coming back, I'm coming back so take it easy," Folly warned, patting Allen awkwardly on the shoulder before slipping the can into his jacket pocket.

"Now that we're over that little lump in the road..." Folly rambled, trying to change the mood for something much more carefree and silly. She never did well with serious subjects or sob stories of any kind.

Allen wasn’t surprised that Folly wasn’t going to get all mushy on him. She wasn’t exactly the type of person to break down and cry over something like being the nice person to come back to him. Allen also had a feeling that the genie was doing it for him. If he had to take a guess, she just didn’t want to risk ending up with a random jerk. That was probably true. There weren’t too many nice people left in the world. Most of them wouldn’t be above using a genie for whatever they wanted. In fact, there was a good chance that a lot of them would end up doing something pretty nasty with her.

Allen lowered his arms when Folly told him not to get sappy on her. He looked up at the ceiling, his face a little red. He did his best not to cry. Man, he was such a sap! “Oh… sorry…. Didn’t mean to go crazy…. It’s just… well, I wasn’t expecting you to come to me. I thought that was it.” Allen said slowly. Folly probably didn’t have a clue how much it meant to him. It didn’t really matter what the reason was. The fact was, she was willing to come back, and that said something. What that was, he didn’t really have a clue.

Allen gave Folly a slight smile. It felt nice to know that she was back. Of course, he had a lot to make up for. He’d have to play it slow to try and make her feel at home with him. No, he probably wouldn’t try and do anything like the girl friend move again, but he’d try and at least get to the point of friend. “Well, I know you probably don’t really care, but it really means a lot to me that you’re coming back. I’ll try and be sure you don’t regret it.” Allen said, slowly, giving Folly a faint smile. He let her pat his shoulder, accepting that it was probably the best she’d give him.

Allen turned, looking both ways just to see if there was anyone around. He wasn’t worried about them getting caught, of course. He was just thinking about getting going again. “Well, Folly, the day is still young, and the offer still stands to let you pick what we do today. I feel like it’d be nice to sort of celebrate your little bit of freedom or whatever you want to call it.” Allen looked off to the side, thinking about what was in Las Vegas. “Well, there are a lot of bars and casinos, which I can’t go into, but I’m sure you can fix that. We could… go to the water park or the carnival, if you want. Those’ll be open for awhile. There’s plenty of stuff for sports and everything around, but I’m not what you’d call ‘athletic’. So… yeah, whatever you want to do, I’ll go along with.” Allen finished, looking her in the eye to await her response.

Folly grimaced as Allen started really to get soggy n' sniffely. This was not going to end well. She poofed up a tissue and shoved it into his face for lack of a better way to approach the "intimate" moment. "Is that so," Folly replied with a slow nod, glancing at Allen with a slightly scared look. He was definitely being a bit creepy with all his sentimentality. "I didn't 'come to you'. I just didn't feel like staying in that stupid Jacuzzi 'til someone found me," Folly grumbled, uttering a half lie.

She tried to break out something of a smile at Allen when he spoke of "not regretting" but she could already feel herself inching back to where he'd left her. If he was going to be this mushy, she was better off with some jerk that wouldn't look at her twice. She just wasn't very accustomed to... emotions. Then again, he was giving her a lot, and she knew it was a lot of choices. She cracked an amused smile at his suggested new activities, admitting to herself that it all seemed good. However, she wasn't about to get back in a bathing suit for some water park so that was definitely out.

"How 'bout this: We go to a bar for a bit and top it off at the carnival,"
Folly replied, figuring that if she wanted she could make the carnival go on until the wee hours if she wanted. All it took was a 'mysterious' change in time on the schedule to make people think that it was supposed to go on 24 hours straight and why not? Even if she didn't feel like doing that little stunt, she could make her own carnival and to hell with them! But first, she was really feeling in the mood to go to a bar first and get her drink on before going to the carnival. The ferris wheel was always more fun with a bit of alcohol in the system.

"I can get you in easily," Folly added on with a wave of her hand, realizing what he'd said about his age. With the wave appeared a card between her fingers that had Allen's picture and a fake age of 22, since 21 was sometimes a red flag for newbies like Allen, since he didn't exactly look the part.

Allen blinked when Folly chucked the tissue in his face. He reached his hand up, pulling it away, a slight smirk on his face. “Alright, I get it. I’ll shut up now.” Allen said, tossing the tissue on the floor. He gave her a little smile, trying to make sure it seemed like he was going to be sure to calm down. There were no guarantees that he was going to, of course. He had a hard time confirming that he would be fine. However, he was smart enough to tell when he was being told to shut up, especially when he knew that if he didn’t do it, Folly would find a way to do it herself.

Allen waited quietly for Folly to make up her mind. Obviously, she wouldn’t be in a rush to get going. They had the whole day, well, most of it, to decide on what they were going to do. She said she would want to go to the carnival after hitting up a bar. Allen frowned at this, and not just because he was under aged. He hadn’t had a drink before, at least not a full one. Furthermore, he hadn’t really liked the few tastes of alcohol that he had tried, which made the idea of drinking a bit… unsettling. However, he’d told her she could go anywhere she wanted, so he wasn’t about to say no.

Folly produced a fake id for him with a little wave of her hand. Allen extended his hand, reaching to take the card from her. “Let me see that….” He said, snatching it from her hand. He looked it over. “No no, this is all wrong.” Allen said, showing her the picture, giving a sort of goofy smile. “The smile’s off! See?” Allen was joking around, obviously. It was one of those ploys to hide the nervousness he really had.

Allen stuffed the card into his pocket, turning for the door. He glanced over his shoulder, bowing and motioning for Folly to go first. “After you, mi’lady.” Allen said, jokingly. The two of them began to track their way out of the building, though Allen stopped them short of the front desk. “Umm… Folly, I don’t know if you realized this when you pulled me in there, but I don’t think we paid for out time in here. Now, I know I might look like I got some money… but… I… really don’t.” Allen said, quietly.

Folly’s face twisted in agony at Allen’s joke. It had been horrible and cheesy… and everything she didn’t like about forced jokes. “Hehe, don't quit your day job,” Folly interjected as she pushed down Allen’s hand that held the ID. She could not wait to get some alcohol in her system so that she wouldn’t be too bothered by the little things that irked her about human nature. If she got just a little tipsy, Folly would be easygoing and kind, sort of.

Folly walked to the front desk, a sly grin on her face as Allen told her he was basically broke. “Eh, no biggy. Hand me my can,” Folly said as she laid out a hand for her little home. She was still smiling as she grabbed it up and shook it for a moment, pressing the top a few times. “Come on, cough it up. It’s gotta be in there somewhere,” she mumbled to herself as she tilted the can this way and that before, finally, a large pouch fell into her hand from the spray nozzle.

“Tah-dah!” Folly said, wagging the pouch in Allen’s face for a moment before opening it and taking out the needed funds for their little spa adventure. She paid the woman in cash and bid her adios before turning back to Allen. “You owe me,” she sing-songed before walking out of the spa center. She tapped her lower lip, contemplating what to do and where to go. She had never before been in Las Vegas so she wasn’t sure what the best bar was.

“Hmm, I’m guessing you don’t really know any good bars being underaged and all.” The poor soul. Folly couldn’t imagine not being able to drink. The wonders of alcohol should have been free to all as it had been when she was first created! She paused in tapping her lip and scanned the immediate area for anything interesting. There were at least three strip joints and five bars. Well, she sure did have her pick.

“Ay, it’s an English pub! Like in the good ol’ days!” Folly exclaimed, pointing towards a small bar towards the end of that ‘shopping’ strip. “Let’s go,” she said with a smile, grabbing Allen’s wrist and tugging him along until they got to the place. It was a modern twist on the old English pub, something Folly was slightly disheartened about, but enough for her taste. They stepped into the pub to the sound of clacking glasses and tipsy laughter. It was dim lighted and the aroma of old fashioned English food and strong beer and other beverages filled the pub. Folly was in heaven.

Lily threw her handbag onto the table and slumped into the sofa. It had been a week since she had started work at the firm and Charm surprisingly had been very cooperative and had kept his gob and his thirst for seduction under control.

So far so good.

It was a friday night and Charm was evidently anxious to go out. Lily gave in a agreed almost immediately as the nerves of being in a new job and country had exhausted her. Charm really wanted to go to the carnival. The reasoning for some of his actions mystified her, but as it was a change to Charm's usual haunts, she didn't mind. It would be some light entertainment on her part.

She opened her wardrobe and was met with a wall of beiges and greys, but she dug further and soon found a bright blue jumper that she paired with a pair of skinny jeans and some ankle boots. She thought that seeing as they were going to somewhere she didn't mind going to, she might as well smarten up a bit. Besides, there was a Marilyn Monroe exhibition there and she was interested to see some of the items that Marilyn Monroe touched and whatnot. She fancied being a bit of tourist.

Charm by this point was bouncing of the walls, literally! So, after a quick tinkling of the bottle he slipped in and they were off.

She hailed a cab and it didn't take long for them to arrive. The lights shone brilliantly, and the music blared.

It was going to be a good night.

Festival, festival, festival!

Excited wasn't the right word. Ecstatic, perhaps. Vegas was brilliant - what he'd seen of it, anyway - and he was intrigued by the idea of Lily actually having fun. Was it an impossibility? The fact that she'd chosen blue to wear just sparked him up more, and it was difficult to stay still long enough to magic himself into his bottle.

The thing was that he loved festivities - even little things like Christmas was done to extremes in the USA - and the opportunities they presented just excited him all the more. When given such prospects, he pretty much became a big, excited puppy.

Even in his bottle, he was ricocheting off the walls. His favoured attire and appearance didn't matter here, did they? People would just take him for a sexy eccentric. And hey, if there was a woman in a blue jumper hanging around him, she was probably just a stalker, right?

With that in mind, he sat on his bed and fidgeted. How long did it take to get there? Why why why why why?!

"Come on! Please, please please please please?!" Oh, it was like torture, waiting for them to arrive. Should he change his hair, make it brighter? Perhaps some face paint? Nah, he'd stick with long ears and ram's horns. People'd ask enough questions as it - oh, what was that? Were they stopping? Yes!

The lid came off the bottle, and without hesitation he beamed himself out. The customary sparkles hung in his eyes before he appeared in front of Lily.

He was going to have so much fun.

The lights were astounding. And releasing Charm was possibly not the best idea. He was excited back in the apartment but nothing could compare to the excitement he was displaying now. It was so embarrassing!

Lily bought two tickets to Marilyn Monroe exhibition and dragged Charm inside. It was light had to been turned on in her head. Such beauty in such a woman. The walls were lined with many photos and paintings, and each captured the eternal beauty of the women. Charm was staring at a particular and picture and she decided to leave him there. He was calm for once and she wasn't going to disturb him.

As she made her way round the exhibition she was drawn the most to the clothing. The famous white dress was the centrepiece to the exhibition and a herd of Japanese tourists were swapped round it taking photos every millisecond.

They would be perfect paparazzi. Lily mused as she muscled her way through. The simplicity yet effortless style of the dress had her standing there in awe. As she glanced at the dress in the glass case, she saw two very beautiful women giving it the same awed stares.

Where was Charm?

She surveyed the room and he was right where she left him, staring at that one photograph. She headed over to investigate....

Yay! Now he was free - and amidst the happy, partying race called human beings. He didn't know what had happened to Lily to make her so boring, but it was sufficent to say that he was going to have a great deal of amusement before the night was over. The main problem, of course, was his aforementioned Mistress. How could he trick her into wishing they could be separated for long enough that he could see the exhibition?

Almost skipping alongside Lily, his amber eyes rolled over the lights. Night had not yet fallen, though they still sparkled greater than they had in the fifties he remembered. What surprised him most was how Lily dragged him into the exhibition he'd wanted to see. Did she like his last mistress, too? He was intrigued.

Having to stop just inside the door, his eyes were caught by an image he recalled taking a long time ago. Norma - that was how he'd known her, after all - had been, what, twenty? He and she had had a brilliant time of it, playing on the beach - a holiday she'd wished for, and something he'd been all too happy to give her. It wasn't intended to be a glamour shot - though her intensity made it so - but nonetheless, her beauty in it was as he'd always remembered. Even before she'd dyed her hair, he'd always thought of her as lovely.

He remembered distinctly taking this photograph - and he had it on his wall in his bottle. So unless somebody made a copy of the film before Norma's death, he hadn't a clue about it.

Before he could pull away from the picture, though, Lily approached him. He was too shocked to be defensive, and he tried to shrug off the emotion.

"I knew her back when she was a kid," he murmured, low enough that only she could hear. He was distracted by the flashes of cameras, and his eyes began to truly see her everywhere. It was like a stabbing pain in his chest, every image of her before her melt-down, but he couldn't bring his eyes away. He almost walked past the two stunning females who were ogling a dress he remembered helping Norma design - but he wasn't completely shell-shocked.

"Well, hello there," he spoke, his voice rough and playful.

Lily saw the obvious tell tale sign of lying as Charm looked down to the left. It was at the precise moment that Lily opened her mouth to call him a liar that Charm saw the two ladies. He fluttered over two them and began his charade once again. It was so tiresome, yeah he was handsome but did those ladies have to swoon in such a manner?

No.

If they invited Charm back to theirs, she was screwed. Lily yet again would have to spend hours listening to the groans and screams until Charm tired of them. It was going to be a long night.

She meandered away and perused the the photograph that Charm was staring at before.

And lo and behold! There by Marilyn on the rug she was laid across was the bottle.

Charm's bottle

She was his previous mistress! He had some talking to do and those ladies would have to wait. Lily marched over to Charm and snapped at the ladies,

"Thanks for keeping my boyfriend busy, Charm, we need to talk."

She had never seen Charm's face contorted in such a way before it was that of pure horror and disgust. It nearly made her laugh out loud but she held it.

"Right. I know Marilyn Monroe was your mistress. I want details, the lot. Gimme."

It was so easy to fool humans. They saw what they wanted to, and while the girls played with his horns and marvelled at the silk of his hair, they saw his 'deformities' as stage makeup, when really they were him.

Lily's demanding face brought him back to earth, dislike it as he may, and his face wrinkled even further at her words. A shudder rippled through him. He could hardly choose somebody who disliked parties as a voluntary partner, but she seemed to enjoy his discomfort. His voice became quiet, perhaps reminiscent of the times he'd learned to live and love.

"I - what? Oh -" And here came an order he could not deny her. Amber eyes became glassy, briefly distant, before returning their focus back upon her. "I came to be in her servitude when she was in her first foster home - though how I got there, I don't remember," he explained. "I watched her grow up from a young girl into a beautiful woman, watched as she fell in love, watched as she fell apart, and watched as she died."

His mouth tightened into a thin line after that; it became obvious that further prying would be retaliated to with the only way he'd discovered that made her uncomfortable: sleeping with other women, sleeping with other men, or trying to seduce her just to annoy her.

Whoah!
Lily just stood gawping at Charm. His features actually softened!
Lily pushed her original thoughts to the back of her mind, knowing that probing any for any more information on the matter would probably send him into meltdown. She instead probed him about that expression which she had never seen in him before.

"Did you have feelings for her?"

The question hung in the air waiting for the response. Lily eyes softened and she reached out to touch Charm, something she had never done before. It wasn't because she didn't want to touch it was just if she did he would most probably launch into a full scale seduction attack. This time was different, and grabbed one of his hands and held it between hers and just waited for him to say something, anything .
