Matthias Borne Location: Execution area ----- As chaos had begun to unfold in the area where the execution was supposed to take place Matthias swiftly moved into the fray while the main escort for Master Ranall protected him on his way out of danger. As he ran into the darkened where evidently a number of the androids had either been faulty or imposters in Orion's army he flipped his binoculars down and switched on the various tools for identification purposes. "What are you doing, Matthias? No one ordered you into the battle." rang in Matthias' earpiece. It was a communication from the superior officer in Ranall's escort. Matthias switched on his microphone and responded, "Tell Ranall I'm finding Orion to offer support in apprehending the escapee." "He gave the okay. Go ahead." said the officer before terminating the line. With the okay from Ranall, Matthias ran ahead further and began scanning all around for Orion. Luckily Matthias had noted the original locations of all council members before the chaos had ensued and had some idea of where Orion would be. It was not long before Matthias' digital visor identified Orion who was busy destroying one of the enemy androids. As Matthias came closer to Orion a second enemy android raised its gun to fire at Matthias from a short distance away. Matthias barely saw the seemingly hostile android from the corner of his eye and quickly raised his rifle to fire an armor penetrating bullet in its direction. The bullet ripped through the android's head and it collapsed to the ground without getting a shot off. Matthias stayed in motion during the engagement and soon after was a mere foot away from Orion. "I hope that wasn't one of yours that thought I was an enemy. Oh well, Master Ranall has requested that I offer you my assistance in apprehending your runaway. Sniper First Class Matthias Borne at your service, Master Orion." Matthias' voice was muffled by the dark mask covering his mouth and his facial features were barely visible with the headgear but the insignia on his chest was clearly displayed. He held his gun with poise while standing in front of Orion, displaying basic discipline and awareness of the situation. Edited by psy, December 14, 2010, 9:34 pm.

Allain had been aware of the follower for awhile bit decided it was best to let her self reveal herself before activating her powers. Unlike most of todays Animus her powers were full matured which meant she didn't have a time restriction with hers. No she replied cooly before turning around. This temple shares a spiritual connection with all Animus they are able to call on past Animus to learn from. I am here to pay my final respects to my brother. If you insist on standing in my way then I have no choice but to kill you. Allain activated her powers her hair turned a vibrant white and her eyes developed red marks in them. Her eyes looked like an emense power was trying to break through. Her right hand lit up in a blood red ball which she sent flying. It hit the ground a good two meters in front of her enemy which caused earth and dust to fly up. She then immediately called on her blade and dashed forward through the dust and slashed downward hoping to catch her off guard. |

"I hope that wasn't one of yours that thought I was an enemy. Oh well, Master Ranall has requested that I offer you my assistance in apprehending your runaway. Sniper First Class Matthias Borne at your service, Master Orion." “Help from a human?” Orion thought to himself. “And in my sector no less.” After thinking it over, with only takes milliseconds for a computer, Orion decided on his answer. “Agreed. However, I just received word that the battle with the fugitives has concluded after Nagato failed to stop them. You can hunt them down if you wish, but someone who got away from Nagato will be no easy target,” Orion said. After explaining where the battle had taken place, Orion left the man to attend a meeting between the High Council of Five. ********** Allain shot out a red ball of energy, which obliterated the ground between the two. She couldn’t have been that bad of a shot, so she was probably using that attack as a smoke screen…and there she was, just as expected. Reiha leapt backwards to dodge the real attack that followed. Allain was faster then originally thought, meaning that her leg muscles had grown to full strength along with everything else in the short amount of time she had to do so. Or…could it be that this wasn’t full strength and she could get even better? That last option sounded interesting to her. If it was true, Reiha might have to get serious soon. “Let’s see if she can handle an attack at 50% strength,” Reiha thought to herself as she rushed forward to try and deliver a kick toward her adversary’s chest, one that would cripple a normal human and come in far to fast for them to even react in time. |

Matthias Borne Location: Execution area, to Scene of Nagato vs Maz and Allain, to Forested area within sniping distance of scene of Reiha vs Allain ----- “Agreed. However, I just received word that the battle with the fugitives has concluded after Nagato failed to stop them. You can hunt them down if you wish, but someone who got away from Nagato will be no easy target,” Orion said followed by his explanation of where the battle had taken place. "No worries, Master Orion. I'm one of the best Ranall's got." responded Matthias pridefully just as Orion started to leave. Matthias gave the android councilman a respectful salute before running off himself in the direction of the location described. "Nagato is one of Orion's top soldiers, right?" Matthias asked his superior over a freshly established communication line as he ran towards the destination. "Affirmative. Why do you ask?" came through the earpiece as a response from Officer Calwell. "If I succeed in this then I've topped one of Orion's best. Which means I'm also trying to prove humanity's worth here." "Then don't fail, Matthias." ordered Ranall over the line before he disconnected to attend to the coming meeting. 'Don't fail,' Matthias thought to himself as he approached the site of the battle that had happened not too long ago. With a quick look around Matthias was able to determine that the battle had involved a powerful force, beyond any weapons that fugitives would have or any that an android would use so rashly since they were all about efficiency. Whatever had happened though, it was obvious that the mystery fugitive had gone in one direction and the android had gone in... Matthias' thought process was cut off as an explosion occurred in the same direction as the other footprints. Was the android fugitive engaging someone in combat? It couldn't be Nagato, so who? A further look in that direction revealed the slightest indication of a building off in the distance. Matthias brought up an interactive map of the sector on his virtual display and zoomed in on his general area. In that direction was one of the remaining Animus temples. The power being used could only be Animus, and if so, this operation was becoming increasingly dangerous for everyone involved. Without hesitation Matthias opened up a private communication line with his superior, Officer Calwell, and uploaded the map with the pinpointed location based on the distance of the explosion. "The fugitive is engaging someone in combat near this Animus temple. The damage caused at the location indicates that a force on the level of Animus powers was used. I suspect the same power is being used in the battle near the temple. Since the mystery fugitive obviously went in the other direction and Nagato has retreated, I've inferred that the to-be executed android is the source. The person she is engaging is currently unknown. Inform Ranall of this when you can, the sooner the better." "Can you handle it?" "Did you need to ask? I'm just keeping you informed." Matthias said finally with a smug tone before cutting the line once more to protect the flow of information. With the information transferred Matthias swiftly took off down the same path the android had gone down. As he came closer to the estimated area of the battle he flipped down his binoculars and took off into the forested area adjacent to the path. A good distance away from the ensuing battle Matthias took cover behind the downward slop of a small hill wedged between two large trees and a good amount of underbrush. Matthias laid his rifle down beside him and zoomed in on the battle with his binoculars. "Record," Matthias said in a hushed tone at which point they began to record the battle as it happened to be sent over a communication line later on. "Begin identification. Immediate transfer to Officer Calwell on a private line." he whispered to himself, which in turn caused the computer in his headgear to try and identify both the fugitive android and her combatant and send that data to his superior officer in the City over a private line. Once that was done Matthias picked up his sniper rifle and set it down on its supports on the side of the hill. He covered the barrel with a small amount of underbrush and laid there with a finger on the trigger in case his position was discovered. As far as he knew one of them was an enemy who was going to die anyway, and the other was no one he knew and assumedly not a member of Orion's forces. |

Allain quickly dodged the kick, had she still had her robotic limbs then there would have been no way to dodge the attack. Even though she had been able to dodge the attack she was still not at full power. Her body was still repairing itself and her Animus energy was slowly decomposing the various metals that her prosthetic organs were made of. It would be atleast a few days before she would be able to return to full strength so for now she had to play it safe. It seems we have a guest. Why don't we got inside were we will not be botered. Allain let out a flurry of attacks that caused the ground to rupture sending earth and dust flying everywhere. The visibility was low Allain could only see about a foot in ftont of her but she could feel the familiar call of Animus energy resonating inside of the temple. This temple was protected by Animus made constructs which allowed no one to enter without Animus blood coursing through their viens. By the time the dust and debris had settled Allain was safely inside the temple. This was not a foreign place to her and the familiar bluish glow made her feel at home. She was soon in the antechamber of the ancestors. It was forbidden to fight in here and anyone who entered would become passified. That is why she had came in here. She wanted to know why a fellow Animus would betray their race and fight for the very nation which had brought their race to the brink of extinction. |

“A guest?” Reiha questioned, shifting her attention back to the forest. If Allain was making an attempt to distract her, that would be a deadly mistake. However, she was able to spot the person as well. The man was actually quite skilled at hiding, more or less, but due to their Animus powers being activated they could see with much better clarity, almost like they were looking through a sniper scope of their own. The man was a sniper, but wasn’t dressed for jungle combat so he had probably not had time to prepare for this situation very well. She hated snipers, especially the well trained ones in Sector 1. She never liked visiting there because even for an Animus it was tough to dodge their attacks. She was about to raise her hand to shoot an orb of energy into his hideout when she noticed that Allain was running away like a coward into the temple. She made an effort to catch her in time, but as she entered the temple she quickly lost sight of her. There was so much energy surrounding her that it was nearly impossible to locate Allain with that method, but luckily it appeared like she wasn’t trying to hide anymore. Instead, she was standing in the middle of the antechamber. Did she actually believe that Reiha would obey the rule not to fight here? How naïve. Although she had to admit that she didn’t feel like fighting now. Oh well. There goes her fun. It looked like Allain had something that she wanted to say, so she wanted to at least find some amusement by striking up a conversation with such an unusual stranger. “Go on. I’m waiting,” she said, edging her on. Reiha still had a good 20 minutes left of her powers, so if she could stall her long enough then Reiha will be the only one left with the powers activated. That was her plan, anyways. |

Matthias Borne Location: Crouched on a large tree branch very close to and above (not directly over) the Animus temple ----- Matthias had just finished lining up the perfect shot. The mystery woman's kick had staggered the criminal for a moment, at least that's how he saw it. But then the criminal kicked up dust with a flurry of super powered attacks. As suprising as that was though, the criminal had said something just before that followed by the mystery woman looking right at him. It was quite possible that the Animus criminal could have seen him at this distance, and in such cover as he really wasn't sure about the extent of their powers but the woman too? Worse yet, those two were communicating. The mystery woman did not look away until the Animus had fled to the temple. 'Did she intend to attack me? She doesn't seem to be a ranged combatant.' he mused to himself, a bit insecure with this whole ordeal. Once they had both gone into the secluded temple he waited a few minutes longer then got up from his temporary hiding spot and sighed in an exhasperated manner. After a brief stretch he opened up another communication line and forwarded the data he had recorded. It would certainly be enough, especially after the woman had turned to face him. "Alright, somehow the criminal, who I am damn sure is Animus now, managed to spot me. She's retreated to the Animus temple and the woman who was fighting her followed her in. She seemed ready to attack me after the criminal pointed me out to her. Honestly Calwell, what the hell is going on here? And who's this mysterious woman?" said Matthias in a hushed tone over the line. "You seem pretty interested in her, Matthias. You realize your mission is to capture or finish the execution of the criminal, right?" "What can I say, I like women who can kick Animus ass. But seriously Calwell, we need to figure out who she is." "Got it, Matthias. So what are you going to do now, Animus temples are deadly if you're not one. You know that right?" "I don't knowww-- Wait, you said they're deadly to anyone that's not Animus just now didn't you? But that means... Well this just got interesting. I'll hold out here for a while, Calwell. Unlike the big bad wolf, I'm patient. The little piggies have to come out to play eventually." Matthias snickered at his own analogy before cutting the line. Over in the city Calwell raised his palm to his forehead and cursed Matthias' existence. Matthias, feeling the thrill of the kill approaching, took off in the direction of the Animus temple but stayed just on the edge of the forested area. He swiftly came to a tall tree with a good number of branches. 'Perfect,' he mused as he started to climb the tree. As nimble as he was, Matthias had some trouble climbing this tree in particular due to a nasty amount of bugs that crawled all over him. Not a fan of bugs, he mercilessly swatted each one away. This continued until he reached a branch high enough to get a complete view of the temple grounds. From here he was able to see almost all the outside entry and exit points and was partially covered by the leaves of the tree. He was not able to see the far side of the temple, which was the top left corner of it when facing the temple from the path. He could however see into the clearing beyond there if there is indeed an exit there. 'Whoever wins in there, wins a nice bullet hole to remember me by. How does that sound, little piggies?' mused Matthias in his head with the only indication of such being the mask covered grin on his face. Otherwise, he remained perfectly still and silent in his treetop vantage point. |

As the path finally met up with civilisation - or whatever one would call it these days - Maztian took to the streets and began his regular routine of reinstating his anonymity. It was simple what one had to do to survive - espeically if one was of a certain bloodline. The boy raised his cloak over his hood once more, covering his white hair before realising that he was still armed. "Masamune.." he whispered, almost mouthing the words. And without a trace, the weapon in his hand vanished into thin air. Now he was just a boy walking the streets, seeming completely conformist to society's near-blind eyes. Whilst on his walk down the streets of Sector 5's suburbia, something caught Maz's attention. Though a hood covered his ears, there wasn't a chance in Hell he'd started hearing people talking about the failed execution - and his somewhat successful kidnapping. The seeds of Revolution were now planted deep within the Sector, and soon word would spread out into the others - There was no chance The Council of Five wouldn't blabber on to their followers. A smile set itself across the boy's hidden face. "Precious Mother, Valiant Father..." he whispered to himself once more. "It has finally begun.. The word shall soon spread and chaotic turmoil is bound to follow. Soon enough, people will know of your sad story of sacrifice from which my triumphant vengeance evolved from, and the World shall know who it is we are, and what we are fighting for. As individuals, as a Family, and as a People. I am proud to have the honour of exacting revenge for you both, proud to be your son, and proud to be the Dark Harbinger that sends the message, and foreshadows what is to come. The People will rise to glory once more and strike down the aggressing nation, and showing them that we will not take their suppression, nor their oppression any longer..." Maztian continued to daydream as he walked. Of the countless androids being dismantled and cast aside like the mere pawns they are. Of the Council finally realising their fatal mistakes, and of the Animus rising to power and control once more. All the dreams came crashing down however - for that moment anyway - when the boy's ears picked up the sounds of people tripping over one another in absolute exclamation and making a comical scene of it all as they went. A boy and a girl, both no older than himself sat in a rather... awkard position for a few moments, blushing so heavily that their cheeks were basically a shiny red. Maz rolled his eyes when he saw the girl - was this really what life was all about for girls nowadays? Making yourself look "attractive" in the hopes that a boy would see you as such and consider the idea of a relationship with you? To Maz, it had always been inner beauty that counted the most. Not that he'd ever even considered... dating - or whatever they called it these days (despite the fact that he was a teen, Maztian basically skipped that hormone-filled stage and moved right on to the whole "you're a sensible grown-up" stage, and as such was mature beyond his years). "My poor peers." he sighed. "I do soon hope that they realise that we they deem "love" at this age is nothing more than hormones fueling their systems... I wish they knew how awkward they look stumbling over their words, contradicting one statement after another." He kept his cloak over his eyes then, realising that he may've spoken a little too loud. The girl was nearly swooning over her "love" interest, but she'd definitely would've been within earshot, and by extension able to have heard what he'd said. |

Standing in the antechamber of the ancestors was Allain and behind her stood twelve cloaked figures. These figures were shrouded in a blue mist and all features save for their faces were indistinguishable. These figures were the high council of elders. Each had been selected after their deaths to teach the Animus about their heritage. It had been a thousand years to the day since they had been summoned and all were ready to show the desenter the err of her ways. Greetings Animus sisters Marie and Reiha. It is not often we have visitors but we are eagar to teach you of your heritage. The Council spoke as one and the voice was ancient and laced with wisdom. Surely if Reiha could be swayed then it wopuld be here that it would happen. However something unexpected happened and the elders screamed in rage. Valkirie how dare you enter this sacred temple and you traitor to your race letting her in her. You will both die here! The scream filled the chamber and seemed to resonate within the walls. As the scream died down the walls began moving and all around them constructs emerged. These constructs were among the elite defensive unit the Animus possessed and had once been Animus themselves. As the constructs emerged the walls began shaking, without the support of the constructs the temple was beggining to collapse on itself. On the outside as the constructs emerged pillars began to fall. As they made contact with the groundbit split open causing tectonic shifts which caused trees to fall around the temple. This was an unexpected turn of events for Allain, she didn't know if she should turn and run or stand and help Reiha. It was a difficult choice to make, self preservation was at the front of her mind, but in the end her conscious got the best of her. She quickly ran to Reiha's side. I know you came here to kill me today but surely you must feel that continuing the fight now would be fatal on both parts. Will you not be reasonable and fight by my side so that we both may escape? Reiha would not have much time to mull over her options as the constructs were but a few paces away from them. Meanwhile in sector four buildings began to collapse as a massive earth quake hit the city. In her chambers Annka was in a meeting with one of the androids. He had in his possession the Kitsune Blade. It was an ancient and very powerful Valkirie relic. One which Annka had long been awaiting to hold in her hands. As the earthquake hit it caused the android to fall over. As he fell a round clear stone fell from the bag he carried. The stone was of Animus origin and was called the Oculus stone. They had once been very common but with the destruction of Animus made items they were thought to be non-exsistant. How these two items had came to be in Orions possession she had no clue and didn't care they were hers now. After carefully sorting through the remaining good she sent the android down to the incinerator. There the android was to plunge both the items and himself into it forever erasing any evidence of her connection. Edited by Everlasting Nirvana, December 16, 2010, 10:55 am.

It took Reiha a second to realize that they were not alone. Multiple Animus spirits had appeared behind Allain. “Greetings Animus sisters Marie and Reiha. It is not often we have visitors, but we are eager to teach you of your heritage,” all of the spirits spoke in unison. How did they know her name? Animus aren’t psychic, so could it be a special power exclusive to spirits? Luckily, the spirits can’t exist outside of their temples or else they would be a major pain. Speaking of them being a pain, the spirits quickly called her out as being among the Valkirie race. All feelings of benevolence soon faded away from the temple, giving back her fighting spirit. Allain rushed over to help her escape, but without warning Reiha raised her right hand and sent out a powerful wave of energy her way. “Yes. I am half Valkirie and half Animus, hated by both races,” Reiha called out to the spirits, a sadistic grin starting to form on her face. “Such hatred is based on the feeling of inferiority. Soon, the Animus will join the Valkirie in destruction.” She called upon the bloodline of both the Animus and Valkirie even further, increasing the energy within her body until she radiated with a purple glow. She leapt forward in a flash and attacked the closest one with her fist, but as expected she went right through him. “Poor choice of attack,” he mocked. Before he could turn around to face her, however, she was already back on her feet and unleashing a powerful energy ball his way. Just as expected, the spirit couldn’t deflect an energy attack with his back like he could with his hands, causing him to take the full force of the blow that erupted into an explosion of purple energy. A gust of wind ripped through the room like a tornado, and when things settled down it was revealed that the spirit was no more. “Looks like you’re all talk,” she taunted. “Not quite,” a voice said behind her, revealing himself to be the same spirit that she believed to have killed. “We can predict your every move and teleport anywhere within the temple at a moments notice. You’ve already lost, cursed Valkirie.” “It looks like I’ll just have to destroy the entire temple then,” Reiha replied. “Unless this earthquake of yours does the favor for me.” “Insolent fool. You’re just like the rest of your race…rushing in to fight us without knowing what we are truly capable of.” “I could say the same about you!” She shouted, unleashing a widespread energy beam his way that, unlike an energy ball, was much harder to deflect. It tore through the back wall of the room and into the next, ripping apart the already crumbling pillars like they weren’t even there. Between her and the earthquake, this entire temple could potentially collapse and destroy all the spirits within. “How dare you!” They all shouted in unison, leaping toward her and forming glowing weapons in their hands. “I see,” Reiha thought. “So their goal isn’t to collapse the entire temple, just this area we are in. Either the spirits don’t have energy attacks, or they simply don’t want to use then in case they damage the surrounding areas.” She surrounded herself in energy and expanded it outward in all directions, fending off the spirits attacks by forcing them to teleport a far distance away. She used this time to leap through the hole she had caused, laughing maniacally as she blew away any support pillars she could find. Being so close to such structures also limited the attacks that the spirits could unleash on her, practically forcing them fight with one hand tied behind their back and allowing her to fend them off easily. That was, at least, until they put their teamwork and their ability to use foresight into good use. Within moments she had been hit multiple times, all of which went straight through her bodysuit like it was air, causing considerable damage to all parts of her body. One of them was able to drain her energy at a touch, nearly forcing her out of the Animus state. To make a bad story worse, the earthquake had ended and the temple was still standing. “Don’t get cocky!” She shouted, not about ready to die to them. Using the last of her strength, she was able unleash one more attack on the spirits and then transfer the rest of her energy to her legs, increasing her speed dramatically and allowing her to escape while the spirits were still recovering. She made it outside, securing her escape, but it was out of the frying pan and into the fire. Just as her Animus state ran out, she remembered something important. “Where’s that sniper from before?” |

Kat had stood and turned for a few moments to let the blush go away. That certainly wouldn't do. Having him see her red. She noticed a hooded someone nearby, but she thought nothing of him. Finally, the blush subsided and Kat turned. She opened her mouth to speak, then she suddenly stopped as she could hear someone talking, it seemed, to themselves. Her mouth closed and her face scrunched. She hadn't caught much of what was said, but she caught enough. The tone also did not sit well with her. Kat whirled to face the verbal aggressor. The only one there was the hooded kid. 'What a little punk,' she thought. Then, aloud, she said, "Look, I don't know who the heck you think are, but if you have something to say to me, then come and say it to my face!" By now she had momentarily forgotten about the boy she was previously speaking to, even though he had tried to stop her. Kat had made her way off the porch and was now standing in front of the hooded kid. what was his problem anyway? She didn't do anything to him. Also, on a note of curiosity, Kat had leaned down a little to try and see the kid's face. |

Maz felt his eyes roll once more as the blue haired one moved towards him. Already the contradictions in her words were apparent. "Let me get this straight.." He grimaced, irritation layering his tone. Teens like her really had no idea who they were dealing with at times. "You call *me* out, tell *me* come to *you* and say what I have to say. But to contradict that completely, *you* walk up to *me* and get in *my* face. As far as my opinions are concerned, you should start saying what you mean, and then practice what you preach." This girl was giving him quite the headache. Never before had he been forced to deal with something like this. "Oh, and as for what I'd like to say to you; I think that as a fellow teenager, watching you both with your indecisiveness, awkward nature and insecurity makes me more than concerned for the future of the world. For example; take a look at the boy that you just walked away from." Maz lifted a hand rather half-heartedly, trying to redirect her attention. "Can you honestly tell me that you want to spend the rest of your life with him? Or are you just out for a bit of fun while you're young? Take a long hard look at yourself, what you're trying to be and what you're doing to try and impress him. Because honestly? There's quite the high chance that things are not going to work out between the two of you. Especially if you're changing who you are to impress him. Besides, for all you know it could just be raging teenage hormones and another four letter word that begins with the letter 'L'." With that, the boy grasped the top of his hood and pulled on it slightly, as if to bid farewell. And with a small sigh of pity, he began to walk away. |

Matthias Borne Location: Temple grounds, after the earthquake ----- The two women had gone into the temple, and nothing exciting happened. Everything was still, silent except for a bird chirping some distance away. There was no breeze and Matthias was as unmoving as a tree himself. This continued for what seemed like an eternity to Matthias but then all hell broke loose. The temple grounds began to shift and contort as an earthquake came from seemingly nowhere. The temple's pillars cracked and fell, but still it stood. The inside of the temple was only visible by small windowed areas and cracks forming all around it. Through one particular hole that formed Matthias caught a glimpse of the mystery woman fighting off something, but not the criminal. Whatever it was she was being attacked by was not something Matthias recognized. He was not even afforded the time to try and get an identification as the earthquake spread further and splintered the tree he was standing on right down the middle, just as many others did that were this close to the temple. The trees in the radius of the destruction fell one by one in a catastrophic scene. If not for Matthias' training he would have been buried underneath the splintered wood. As his particular tree fell he stood steadfast until it came close to the ground. In a display of acrobatics he threw himself from the branch as it neared the partially sundered earth. He touched the ground with one foot and rolled forward into another fallen tree. The momentum of the fall combined with his rolling maneuver sent the side of his face into a knot on the tree which split the skin near his right eye. Blood ran down his cheek and onto his chin. It dripped onto the mask that was now just hanging around his neck. For a few moments Matthias sat there, dazed from the fall and collision with the tree. With his right eye snapped shut to stop blood from flowing into it he kept an eye on the temple with his left. His sniper rifle had been thrown a fair ways away in the fall so he held his handgun loosely in one hand. Other than his head wound he was relatively uninjured so he resolved to carry out the mission. As luck would have it, part of his mission presented itself just as he had begun to regain his composure. The mystery woman came running out of the building after the earthquake had ceased. He looked at his gun, then through the slight crack in the tree that was acting as his cover for the time being at her once again. 'It's a shame you're not the one I have to kill,' he thought to himself and kept his head low to avoid being spotted by her. The sheer chaos that had occured outside the temple would be astounding to anyone that exited it. Several rows of trees had been leveled in the earthquake. The dust in the air was just starting to settle and birds miles away screeched in fear as they flew to a safer area. What was once still and silent had become a scene of devastation and violence. Yet, the temple in the center of it all still stood despite the number of pillars around the outside that had fallen away. In the City Calwell had just received the latest transmission from Matthias. There was no vocal communication to accompany this, but the video he had sent said enough. Calwell played back the full video of the devastation that had happened at the temple on a virtual screen inside a small chamber where Ranall sat in silence just behind the officer. Once the video had ended Ranall displayed a wicked smile. He knew exactly what he was going to do with this. "Calwell, I want you to get that video cleaned up. We're going to make good use of this. This will go well with the story of how the criminal was killed inside the temple during the collapse, aided by the heroic efforts of Sector One's Sniper Captain Matthias Borne." "Sir, you're promoting him for failing to actually kill the target?" "We ran the numbers, Calwell. With the escape today Animus support is expected to go up by a large percentage. The destruction of the inner temple, combined with the death of an escapee will undoubtedly strike fear back into the hearts of their supporters. With Matthias' involvement, and by extension the involvement of Sector One we'll garner further support for ourselves." |

At first, Kat was speechless. He was rather correct about her going to him after telling him to go to her. She blushed from defiant anger even though she knew he was right. However, he was obviously getting smart with her. She sat silently through the onslaught and waited for him to finish. While waiting, she adopted a pose with her arms crossed over her chest and her feet slightly apart. Who was he to judge her? He had no idea what was even going through her mind. As far as he knew, she was visiting her friend or cousin. Now, that isn't saying he was too far off, but a lot of it was. She didn't know whether or not she was going to spend her life with the boy, nor did she think she loved him. However, from his words, the boy with the hood was possibly suggesting she was going to have sex with the other boy! How dare he? She took the whole "look at yourself" comment as a round-about way of saying, "You look ridiculous," and she didn't much approve. It also had nothing to do with this particular boy. She may have gotten fancied for him, but her attire was not much different than usual. It was an even greater insult that he had started walking away from her! Kat had had enough and she was going to let this boy know it by delivering a powerful slap across his face! She marched up after him and grabbed the back of his hood that he was so fond of to turn him around. At that instant her hand was reared and prepared to strike, but the ground at her feet became unsteady and she tumbled to the ground for the second time that day with his hood still in her hand. The sudden earthquake had shaken her, and if you had looked closely you could have seen her eyes quickly flash some strange markings. A couple of random patches of white also appeared in her blue hair. |

The boy had only half-expected there to be a violent reaction to the stating of his own opinions, but when the girl grabbed the back of his hood, there was still a hint of surprise in his body language - a slight jump, but nothing more. What was a surprise however, was the sudden tremor beneath his feet. Had his fellow teenager decided not to grab onto him, Maz had no doubt that he would've been able to balance himself perfectly so that he wouldn't fall over. However, this was not the case. Her grip on his hood was tight, tighter than he would've expected from her, and as she fell, he went with her. "Hey-Ugh!" was really all he could get out before he hit the shaking ground. This girl was clearly accident prone; being around her was certainly not beneficial for his health. He had a mind to tell her off and walk away, but as he turned to do so, it became apparent that there was something else of importance to consider. This girl, whom he saw as a disgrace, and a discredit to humankind, wasn't even fully human... Her hair, once completely blue, now had patches of pure white throughout her scalp. And for a split second, the teen could've sworn he'd seen a peculiar pattern flash in her eyes. "You're.." he began, before coming to another important realisation. The hood of his cloak now rested against his back, and his own hair and eyes were in complete view! "Darn it!" he exclaimed, trying quickly to pull it back over his head before anyone could see anymore. It was obvious that the androids would be at the scene soon, as a precaution in case of the presence of the Animus. Once his hood was back in place, he grabbed the still dazed girl by the hand. "We need to get out of here now!" he called, hoping that she would hear him over the chaos that had erupted in the streets. "Come with me!" |

With the recent earthquake, the failed execution, and the Animus riots, there was a lot to talk about in this most recent meeting between the Council of Five. Unfortunately, only Orion and Ereck had arrived so far and the meeting was supposed to begin within thirty minutes. He understood why everyone would be busy right now, but it was important to get this meeting over with as soon as possible. He had some personal problems as well. He had just been informed that his manor had been broken into; the contents of his most important vault stolen. A lot of his forces were focused on the execution at the time, but it still amazed him how someone was able to pull that off. And more importantly, how did the perpetrator know about the contents of that particular vault? Maybe he just got lucky, or maybe he knew a lot more then the average person. He had sensors to detect when living organisms enter his manor, and the fact that they didn’t go off would indicate that imposter androids had been involved, just like the ones used in the execution. If he could find the manufacturer responsible for this, maybe he could figure out who he sold these androids too. “Orion, is anything wrong?” Ereck questioned, disrupting Orion’s “thoughts”. “No. I was just wondering how my budget can be used efficiently in the clean-up efforts,” Orion explained. “I may have to put off my most recent production line.” “I’d be glad to assist in your efforts,” Ereck said with a smile. Typical Ereck generosity, but untypical that he would help in a budget that would be used against the Animus. Ereck was the only Animus supporter on the Council of Five that he knew of. What was he thinking about the current situation? The amount of people who view Animus as terrorists had increase from 65% to 82% in response to the casualties and damages that the Animus are believed to have inflicted during the execution, but the ones who still support the Animus have begun to increase the intensity and frequency of their attacks. This also increased negative views towards the Animus, so is Ereck finally seeing the error of his ways, or perhaps being pressured into it? “I’d like to see how the meeting goes first,” Orion replied. |

Kat was only aware of five things. First, that was not pleasant. Second, the kid had white hair. Third, something was really weird about that, but her mind couldn't recollect it. Fourth, this guy was yelling at her. And finally, the fear and urgency in his voice told her was something wrong. Sadly, she didn't realize the last part until she was being dragged around. She was still a little confused as to what happened. Shaking again so suddenly did not help. She shook her head and snatched her arm away. She was a little better and could see straight now. She called out the original boy's name and he came to her not long after. Apparently he had been on his way already. She looked him in the eyes and told him to stay inside. "This guy seems to know something that I don't and it is bad. I need to go with him," she explained. He was about to protest, but Kat's fear gave an appearance in her eyes again and a few more patches had shown up. His own eyes grew wide and he nodded. Not long and he was inside his house once more. Kat turned to the other guy and sighed. "Alright, let's go," she conceded a little reluctantly. She motioned for him to go since she had no idea where they were to go. Then, oddly, she heard marching. It sounded kind of off. Then again, how could she hear anything with the noise of worried citizens and the screams of various sorts of alarms going off? Not to mention the final fall of quasi-broken trees and power lines. Things were so weird. Well, the boy might know. She made sure to stay as close as she could behind him. Her hair was now completely white and the marks in her eyes showed quite well. Kat didn't notice her hair yet, but she did notice she wasn't getting winded much at all and it seemed as if everything was clearer. Even her balance seemed easier to maintain. 'What is going on?' she wondered to herself. |

As was expected Reiha attacked her. With as close as she was there was no hope to sosge the attack. Lucky a quake caused her to stumble and the attack hit her shoulder. She was sent flying backwards and into a wall. As she hit the wall and fell to the ground a pile of rubble fell on top of her. One of the smaller pieces hit her head and she was knocked out. What felt like seconds later she was awoken to a construct pulling her out. She was vulnerable in this position but sue decided not to fight back. Her fate was already decided she would die, if not here then one of the emperors armies would surely get her. As the construct let her loose she closed herveyes tightly fearing what was to come. Instead of a killing blow she felt a andbon her shoulder. As she opened her eyes the elders once again spoke. You heroically tried to save her while your life was in danger. Not once did you attempt to attack us. You may have helped one of our mortal enemies but we believe you did so unwittingly. Therefore you are free to go. You now carry the blessing of the elders. With this blessing you will be stronger faster sharper and more agile than ever before. Now go in peace sister. As the last word was spoken the elder disappeared in a wave of energy. As the energy collided with the walls they began to repair. The fallen debris were lifted back into place and within seconds the temple stood whole once more. As Allain looked around she didn't see Reiha's body anywhere. She must have escaped she thought to herself. Not wanting to run into her again she took a hidden passage that led to a tunnel. This tunnel ran under the city and had many exits. The one she happened to choose led to a small clearing outside of sector two. Upon entering the sector she deactivated her powers and grabbed a discarded cloak. She donned the cloak and pulled the brim of the hood down as far as it would go to mask her identity. She began to walk quickly through a crowd of fleeing citizens toward the market district. She new of an Animus shop keeper there that might be able to hide her. Early as usual I see Ankaa said as she marched through the door. A squad of soldiers followed her in and stood behind her as she sat down. My commander informed me about the destruction of your manor Orion. I have a small villa that borders your sector if you so wish to use it. It may not be the bare walls that you are used to but it should suffice for now. Ankaa was carefully playing both sides here. By offering Orion a place to stay it would further solidify her innocence. She began to lightly drum her fingers on the table as she thought. My plan is coming together perfectly soon they will all see the real power of a Valkirie. They will all bow down to me one day. A smirk appeared on her face as the thought crossed her mind. |

When the girl snatched her hand away, apparently feeling up to running on her own now, Maz gave a quick nod. "Good idea leaving your friend back there!" he yelled, barely able to keep the volume of his voice above the chaos. "Things may get a little rough very soon, so I'll need you to stay as you can to me unless I tell you otherwise!" It was very difficult trying to keep the suprised look of his face as the girl basically transformed before his eyes. But he needed to keep his head on straight and get them both to safety. There would certainly be time for Q and A later... But now, the trouble was really beginning. The power lines and fallen trees had somehow found each other, and had started quite a few small fires all around them. The problem was, that fire was not their biggest problem. The synchronized clanking of metal boots filled the air then, the Heavy Androids finally arriving to dish out the crowd control and scanning for any Animus in the area. To Maztian's knowledge, there was nothing stopping him from making a quick retreat. He could slip away unnoticed by himself. However, this girl - his sister by ancestry - had nothing that could keep her from getting snatched up by the hunks of scrap-metal that were now roaming suburbia. To make matters worse, she had nothing to keep her true nature hidden. No blanket, no cloak, nothing. The teen's eyes scanned down the street. Up ahead were three Heavy Androids marching towards them - albeit at an incredibly slow pace. "Alright!" he called behind him as they ran forward. "We should have no problem getting through! But for this to work, I need you to follow at least three metres behind me! Stay directly behind me and do not stray from the path I take! If you do, there is a major chance you could get sliced up or shot!" There was no time to ask for a ready check - the timing had to be perfect. "Go!" shouted the boy, ever so slightly increasing his speed. "Masamune!" came the summoning. Within a second, the blade was out and shining blue once more. The distance between both factions began to come to a close. The Androids were positioned in a triangular formation, sirens blaring on all their shoulders. The noise was near-deafening. Finally, their receptors began to pick up on the presence of Animus nearby. In perfect synchronization once again, they all raised their arms (which were more accurately described as massive cannons) and aimed for the boy rushing towards them. They didn't have time to fire. "Target aquir-" said the middle one, before having his head removed. As the blade cut through the metal, Maztian could've sworn it sounded like a cry for mercy. No such quarter was being given. As he finished the first robot, he found himself directly in-between it's flanking friends. In a swift motion, the boy spun on the ball of his foot - just like he had whilst fighting Nagato, and swung the glowing Masamune towards the midsections of both Androids. Thanks to the extended reach of the massive sword, both bots found themselves in half within milliseconds. "That was lucky.." he laughed to himself before taking off once more. He didn't have time to look back to see if the girl had listened to what he'd said. However, in his head, he prayed that she had. "Come on!" he shouted back at her. |

Ranall, High Councilman Location: Council meeting room ----- The meeting time had approached faster than Ranall realized at first and he would have missed it entirely if not for Calwell's excellent memory. Ranall trusted all of his soldiers, they were trained to be trustworthy, but Calwell was always on the ball and often contributed good opinions. That is why he was entrusted with being the second in command of Ranall's personal army. If there was anyone who Ranall counted as a friend it was Calwell. When Calwell entered the chamber at an undetermined location in sector five Ranall was playing with military tactics on a virtual screen, his favourite pastime. This was only one of the reasons why his army was more ruthless than any, nearly as efficient as Orion's, and feared in any engagement. The recent tactic he was developing was unfinished and so when the door opened he immediately closed the virtual screen. After a brief discussion about the status of the situation the two of them left the undisclosed location and took a discretely armoured car, excellent military vehicles being another thing his army was known for, to the specified meeting place. Once they had arrived Ranall made his way into the building with only Calwell and one other as his guards. There was certainly a degree of danger anywhere he went, but Ranall had no doubts about his own ability to survive. It was not long before Ranall came to the door to the room where the meeting would take place. He stopped just outside the door and as he began to pull it open he overheard Annka discussing the apparent destruction of Orion's manor. That was unsettling to say the least. Ranall respected Orion at least as far as someone who could match him in the game of war. While Annka spoke Ranall brought up his miniature virtual screen and sent a text format order to the intelligence division to allocate partial investigation resources into the recent events surrounding Orion's manor, though he expected little to come of it aside from rumours and speculation. Ranall then opened the door fully, after closing the miniature virtual window that hovered in front of him, generated by a small device on his wrist. Upon entering the room alone, Calwell and the other soldier had elected to wait outside, Ranall immediately saw Ereck, Orion, Annka and her squad of soldiers. Why she brought in an entire squad to a Council meeting was beyond him. He certainly intended to berate her for it either way. "How kind of you to offer Orion a quaint villa to stay at, Annka. A bit insulting as well since I'm certain all of us have multiple locations that we call home. That's neither here nor there I suppose, though. Oh, and forgive my suspicion of your soldiers, but once the meeting starts I'd prefer it if your personal peanut gallery waited outside just like mine," he said in a condescending and badgering tone to Annka before directing his attention to Ereck and Orion, taking on a kinder tone, "How are you both doing on this hellish day?" With his lecturing of Annka, who he found absolutely insufferable at times, and his greeting of the other two done with Ranall pulled up a seat. While waiting for a response from all parties he addressed he tapped his wrist followed by the table in front of him. The virtual screen he had been using before in the air projected itself onto the part of the table immediately in front of him which he expanded by dragging outwards. With a few clicks the transfer files from Matthias were made available for use during the meeting. He started to organize them by order of importance, glancing away from it only if someone spoke to him. |

“Early as usual I see,” Annka said upon entering the room. She brought a squad of soldiers in with her, which was a little odd to Orion, but not entirely illegal. “My commander informed me about the destruction of your manor, Orion. I have a small villa that borders your sector if you so wish to use it. It may not be the bare walls that you are used to, but it should suffice for now” “Everyone’s so generous to me today,” Orion replied, trying to sound grateful. He noticed her smirk, wondering what was going through her head. Organic beings could be so weird at time. “However, I’ll have to pass.” He suddenly picked up a signal from one of his androids. It said that some Animus were one the loose again, and one had just taken down three heavy androids with a sword. His heavy androids were well armored, so that sword…could it be one of the energy weapons that Ereck’s soldiers use, or something else entirely? “Orion, you’re blanking out again,” Ereck said. “I have a lot on my mind today,” Orion replied, and then thinking to himself, “My current androids are no longer efficient in handling this new threat. Hopefully my new units will arrive soon.” Ranall had now entered the chamber, leaving only Liliquoi absent, which wasn’t much of a surprise. There was a predictable fight between Ranall and Annka, and then Ranall asked him how his day was going. Yep. Just the man he wanted to talk to right now. “About what you would expect,” was all he said, and he left it at that. ********** Reiha was stumbling around the city, not because of the earthquake but because of the soreness and pain that radiated through her body. Normally she would have healed by now, but the process of recovering from the spirits attacks was slow going. How dare the Animus humiliate her like that! She couldn’t remember ever being this bent out of shape, and if she ever ran into Allain again she would tear her to pieces for forcing her into that temple. She originally planned to plead with Liliquoi to issue a bombing run on the temple, but now she wanted to come back and destroy them all herself. All she needed was more power and some Animus to get her frustration out on. Unfortunatly for her, she became completely disoriented about halfway to sector 3 before promptly losing consciousness. |

What the hell was going on? This guy definitely knew something Kat didn't. She was terrified! What was going to happen to her? Why were there androids there? Why were they aiming for her and the boy? Sadly, it was not time for questions. The boy told her to keep pace with him and she was sure to follow his instructions. She did not want to risk injury. She nearly screamed when the boy suddenly had a sword and started hacking at the androids. This was not right! She was in something much deeper than she thought. Things were not going good for her. There was one good thing, however. Kat's outfit may be for fashion, but it allowed her great mobility. Later, when it got cold, putting on something else might be a good idea. With all of the loud noises surrounding her, she was surprised she didn't go deaf. She flinched from every new sudden noise. Why was this happening to her? Still following the boy, she placed her hands over her ears in a poor attempt to drown out the sounds. |

With the Androids now out of the way, it was a straight shot to the boy's hideout, a ragged old house that had long since been left behind by it's previous owners. They'd been Animus, just like him. And they were killed by androids, just like his Father. As the pair approached the run down-shack - which was basically what it had been reduced to now - the boy smiled. Never once had they come for him here. And heaven help them if they ever should decide to. This was his sanctuary, the one place he couldn't be apart from for too long. A safe place. The teen raced around to the back of the house, motioning for his fellow kin to follow. As indifferent as he had been toward her before, he would need to show a little more courtesy around her now that she'd - albeit unintentionally - revealed what she really was to him. People of their race deserved proper care and respect, after all. Built next to the back of the house was a tool-shed. It was old fashioned and unusually tall, but then again noone lived here anymore, so noone took notice. Maz slid the doors aside and paused, before turning to face the girl. "I realise you may have a few questions. There will be plenty of time for such things. But if I may; I'd just like to let you know. You'll be more than safe here, Sister. Now if you would please step inside?" With that he turned and walked into the shed. Minus the entrace, all sides of the shed were stacked with gardening and crafting tools, whilst the floor was littered with all things machinery related - lawn mowers, car-cleaning equipment, fuel canisters etc. It was all full and organised, save for a single spot on the wall, where a large shovel hung, seemingly out of place. Maz took it down from the wall, before lifting up the Masamune and fitting it into the slot. As the blade slipped into place, the vice attached to the table below began to spin, seemingly of it's own accord. But instead of the tool's grip loosening, the table began to lift off the ground, revealling a small underground slide. "The hatch only responds in the presence of the Blade's inner energy. My Father designed it - with some help from my Mother." the boy explained. "Now, if you'll kindly follow me." Within seconds, he was climbing into the chamber and sliding down. "3... 2... 1..." he whispered, landing on his feet as his countdown ended. He stepped aside and waited patiently, so that when his guest followed, there would be no collision. |

Matthias Borne Location: Light armored transport in sector three, en route to Council meeting location Ranall and Calwell Location: Council meeting location ----- Just as Matthias had hoped, the mystery Animus did not spot him hiding among the fallen trees and underbrush. She certainly did not appear in any shape to be fighting even if she had. While Matthias suffered only a minor head wound and some soreness from his tumble. The Animus he was hunting was nowhere in sight and he was not prepared to go running through the forest looking for her. The blood had stopped running down his face and was now caked on his cheek, chin and neck but he was in no shape considering he did not know what shape she was in. As luck would have it the mystery Animus staggered off with her tail between her legs towards the city. Even if he could not return with the real prize, she would be easy pickings in this state. Matthias recovered his rifle not far from himself and followed her patiently from a good distance away by using fallen trees, rocks, and the like for cover. Any sound he made could easily be attributed to the meager wildlife. Despite his slight injuries his motions were swift, nearly silent and spot on accurate which kept him hidden extremely well. She was within the city soon enough and was, at this point, stumbling around with seemingly little rhyme or reason. Matthias continued to stalk her all the while. They were not terribly far from sector three according to Matthias' virtual map and he was beginning to contemplate just jumping her now. Before he could think very far into it though she collapsed on the side of the little used street she had been walking along. A few pedestrians gasped in horror and started towards her to see what was wrong. It was then that Matthias stepped away from his shadowy corner and rushed over to her unconcious form. The people gasped again upon seeing his bloodied face. Cries of "Are you both alright?!", "What happened?!", and "Did the earthquake do this?!" filled the street. Seconds later Matthias had his handgun drawn and pointed at the unconcious woman's head and the cries became very panicked indeed. "Calm down, I'm from sector one's Sniper division. This woman is a criminal." assured Matthias in an effort to calm the people down. A sigh of relief replaced the panicked cries and the people stood stone still in the middle of the street as Matthias dragged the woman back away from the road. A small crowd began to gather within minutes as people wanted to see the criminal and the sniper. Matthias ignored their incessent questions as best he could. "Yeah, this is Matthias. I'm going to need a small transport at my location ASAP. I've apprehended the second woman from the temple." he said into the helmet microphone. "Kind of figured you'd died in the earthquake, Matthias. I should've known better. I'll get you that transport as soon as I can. It'll take you to the meeting location where Ranall and the rest of the Council can decide what to do with her." replied Calwell from the lounge area just down the hall from the meeting room. With that the line was disconnected and Matthias waited in the center of the semi-circular crowd that continued to gather. A number of school children had taken particular interest in the sight and were proding him with question after question. "I hit my head because I was in the center of the earthquake. Yes, this is a real gun. No, you can't shoot it. No, she's not dead. That depends, how old is your mother? In that case, no I won't marry your mother. An older sister you say? I might have to take you up on that. NO! You can't shoot my gun if you set me up with your older sister!" he responded to their rapid fire questions. By the end of which he felt sweat forming on his forehead. Soon afterwards the transport vehicle drove up. The civilians moved without hesitation when they heard the soldier in the passenger seat barking at them while leaning through the window. The driver pulled up right in front of Matthias and the woman and slowed to a stop. Matthias opened up the back door himself and hefted her into the light armored transport. He got in afterwards and let out a loud sigh of relief. The soldier in the passenger seat looked back at him and grinned in a very mocking way. "I didn't peg you as the type to suffer through an earthquake just to get a woman, Matthias. Is she worth the trouble?" laughed the soldier, who Matthias knew as Derrek Brewer. "What can I say, this one's special in an immediate death sentence sort of way. I just hope she appreciates all the trouble I went through to get her." replied Matthias with a light-hearted smile. "Speaking of being appreciative. Rumour has it Ranall's going to promote you in part because of this particular mission, Captain." Upon hearing this Matthias raised one eyebrow and immediately asked, "What am I looking at for a pay raise if the rumour's true?" "About fifteen percent." "Damn straight." concluded Matthias with a cheeky grin plastered on his face, "I'll take it." --- The news that Matthias had survived and had captured one of the Animus woman took mere moments to reach Ranall who was tinkering with various schematics inside the meeting room. The report from Calwell popped up on his virtual screen and he smiled happily at this result. With a tap against the side of his screen and a flick of his finger the report transferred to a large screen on the far wall of the meeting room for all to see. It read in plain text, "Sniper First Class Matthias Borne, status: alive. Mission objective to sieze escapee, status: failed. Appended objective to apprehend or kill second Animus at the temple, status: success, apprehended. Current objective to return to location 74C, status: in progress. Current risk level, status: minimal." "It looks like my soldier is coming to us with a present, everyone. Since this all happened because of your execution today, I thought it would be best if I had her delivered here. Once Liliquoi arrives we can discuss the events of today, of which I personally have an awful lot to talk about. If only Liliquoi wasn't so privvy to wasting our time." said Ranall to his fellow Council members gathered in the room. His elation due to the report was clearly evident. |

It was almost as if the androids just broke themselves. It was over that quick. Kat was stunned at what was going on and couldn't even find the words to ask. She just did as she was told. In her head she just told herself that it would be okay and her parents would get everything settled. She did sigh when she saw her hair was pure white, however. That was one thing she would have to deal with herself. A run-down house came into sight after a short walk. She was a little disgusted, but she sort of trusted the boy. He would have just let the androids kill her if he was wanting her dead, right? Why did he take a complete turn though? He seemed to nearly hate her before and now he was helping her. How did that make sense? Nothing made sense to her anymore! He motioned toward a shed in the back and she followed him in. It was a little strange and she was confused as to what he was doing with the shovel and his sword, but it was clear soon. Kat backed away when the table lifted itself. That was a little creepy. Then, she had a thought. 'This is like a spy movie. Who is this kid?' Thinking of it like a spy lair made it a little easier, but she was still a little scared. The boy was right! Kat certainly did have questions, but after he said that it was like all he did was make her have more. Everything just confused her more. Why was it so complicated? With a sigh, she followed him in. She waited a few seconds after it sounded like he stopped. She may have been shallow, but she wasn't stupid. If she didn't give him time to move, then she would slide into him! A few seconds later and she slid down and landed on her butt at the bottom of the slide. "Ow!" she exclaimed. As she stood, Kat rubbed her now sore backside and looked around. "Where are we?" |
