Sector 5 was buzzing with activity, almost like the entire city of New Alesian was here for the event. To Orion, this was a good sign. The more people showing up to a public execution, the more people that learn the valuable lesion about what happens to those who betray order to such a fowl extent. Order must be at the forefront of every society, especially this society that was slowly being swept away into chaos. He needed to keep society lasting for as long as he was able, even if in the end it was all a futile effort, even if chaos was destined to swallow this world.

To think, one of his own bodyguards, and an android at that, wouldn’t know this. She had helped out the Animus, a race of people who were the cause of the most disorder this world has ever seen. Only someone who was defunct would do so without any ulterior motives. Not only did she not benefit from aiding them, she was now going to be destroyed for it. At long last, her day of execution was upon her.

He was heading for the area where the sentence would be carried out, but someone stepped in front of him as he entered the hallway. She was a member of the High Council of Five, the same as him, so he couldn’t berate her for impeding his process without getting some words in return. Liliquoi never took insults without finding some way to get back at them, and he’d rather avoid that. He analyzed her face, realizing that she was just as happy as ever.

“Smiling is illogical,” Orion said in a mechanical voice.

Liliquoi’s smile widened even further as he spoke and a bright gleam appeared in her eyes. If Orion was acting even gloomier then usual, she would become even happier. Perhaps this was an effort to annoy him, but being annoyed was all but impossible for Orion. She’d have to do a lot better then that.

“Don’t tell me you’re sour about having to execute a fellow android,” she taunted. “Oh…let me guess. You’re afraid that you’ll loose some of your efficiency that you had while she was around?”

“There’s no sense steaming over ruined parts,” Orion replied. “Why are you here anyways? Did something bad happen to our project?”

“Always the pessimist, Orion. I’m just saying hello.”

“Then goodbye.”

He turned abruptly before Liliquoi even had a chance to reply, and then continued on his way down the corridor. He didn’t want to be late, so he had to increase his speed by 0.2 miles per hour to make up for lost time. Liliquoi seemed to be completely oblivious to the trouble she caused him, but for someone with a brain made out of meat she wasn’t too bad. In fact, she was one of the few who he was able to work with efficiently. Not that she didn’t have her quirks, but if she wanted to she could match his level of thinking. Nobody else he knew could do that.

As he walked, he noticed that a few more High Council members were here. A public execution usually didn’t attract this many people, so was something going to happen? Why wasn’t Orion informed of this? After asking around, he heard that someone had detected a slight trace of the Animus’s power around this location. Detecting their presence could only be achieved when an Animus is actually activating their powers, or if there are two or more Animus in close proximity to each other, and even then the reading is slight. Could the readings have been the result of a malfunction, or was there some truth to this? He’d already taken every safety precaution, so there was nothing left to do but wait and see what happened.

Nagato 3A had been surprised when he heard the news. Well, no...surprised was not the appropriate word--after all, of what use was a special-type combat android if he could be surprised by anything? Perhaps the best term for this was that such an event had simply not been a likely occurrence in Nagato's mind. For an android of Orion's own personal guard to suddenly choose to betray her country, her leader and, most importantly, her logic and reason, was an almost unthinkable scenario.

Nagato's eyes, black and with an almost unnerving empty quality, scanned over the humans bustling around him. Some cast their eyes towards him almost fearfully--and why would they not? It was rather difficult to ignore the uniformed man who stood a good couple of inches over nearly everyone else; the peaked cap he wore only made him seem even taller and more imposing, and the expression (or rather, the utter lack thereof) he wore did nothing to help that first impression. Thankfully, Nagato 3A was not one to care much of the opinions others held of him.

So the 'traitor', the android who had betrayed Orion, she was now to be executed. Nagato himself was not to be the executioner, but he would be spectating--if not to watch over the process and ensure nothing went wrong, then at least to keep himself active; when he was not on a mission, Nagato found himself with little to do, and typically he read to keep himself occupied. Today, it seemed, Nagato would have something a little more active to do.

((For the sake of my post, can we assume that Maz's sword (being infused with Animus energy) can be considered a part of the reading? If you have problems with that, let me know.))

As the masses gathered around centre-stage of the public execution, the boy shifted through the crowds, moving forward as quickly as he could without attracting any attention. Weaving through crowds was easy for someone of his age; he wasn't short enough to get trampled, but also not tall enough to have his head sticking out the top of the masses. The was no emotion, no sign of urgency in the way he walked. It was simply a slightly quickened pace. The teenager's black hood covered his white hair for the most part, but to be safe he'd decided to stick near people with brighter clothing.

The reason he was here? Right now, only Maz knew. A public execution, the death of an individual put on show for the entirety of the town to watch - if they so chose. Blood splatter nor gunfire had never particularly sparked an interest in the kid, so enjoying the show was clearly not what he had in mind. The individual in question, an android - and one of Orion's own so it seemed was to be executed for assisting those of Maz's kind. Truly a commendable endeavour, though obviously one that wouldn't have gone unnoticed even if she had tried to keep it a secret. But there was a possibility, however small, that there had been an ulterior motive on the android's mind.

Revolution.

Maz smirked to himself under his shadowing hood. The thought of Orion's own android plotting and playing against him was just too funny. The underlying messages were brilliant; If one can stand up to authority and conformity, everyone else can stand up. Making a statement such as this was enough to place a powerful idea into people's minds. To start a Revolution, one would need three things.

The first thing - The Powerful Public: The people needed to be fed up with their superiors. Tired of constantly having to live in fear of the ones with the power and over having to deal with oppression. And walking around the streets lately, Maztian had heard his fair share of disgruntled complaints about the higher-ups. Which brought them all to the second phase: The Powerful Idea. One statement made to strike doubt into the hearts of the public, and have them lose whatever faith they had left in their Leaders. This android had taken care of this with ease. The Higher-ups were vulnerable, just like the rest of the public. And finally, the last thing required to start the ball of Revolution rolling.

A Powerful Catalyst.

A member of the Powerful Public needed to take the Powerful Idea and follow up with an event that causes everything to boil over. But who would possibly oblige with the android and cause the catalyst? Maztian's smirk got even wider as he approached the front row of the execution stage, his fist clenched around what seemed to be an invisible handle. "Almost showtime.." the whisper slipped past his almost wicked grin.

Annka was quietly walking the halls of the colliseum where the android as to be executed. She was not there to watch the execution but to have an alibi and she purposely walked by Orion on multiple occasions to be sure he noticed her. Each time she greeted him with the same almost mechanical emotionless expression. She had been planning the attack on sector five for months all she had been waiting for was a good distraction to commence the strike. She had hired a mysterious doctor to build her a small army of androids. She never once met the doctor and her request and payment had been done anonymously so there would be no evidence of her crimes. The attack was not personal against Orion it was just that he had an ancient Valkirie relic in his personal vault. The execution would be the perfect time for the attack because most of Orions army was here to make sure nothing would go awry. Her androids would strike the powergrid first to take down the communications then they would attack the manor. At long last she heard the first explosion and then a series of more explosions. Each android had been rigged with explosives and should they be captured would explode. That was not the only reason for the explosives though in a sense the androids were kamikazes giving their worthless life for the sake of their master. With the first phase of the plan completed the second set of androids entered the manor. They had been instructed to take everything in the vault and then explode the manor. As the power went out the coliseum was plunged into darkness and something began to happen down on the floor.

As the power failed so did the neuro uplink that the android army shared with Orion did as well. The thing keeping her from retaliating was offline she now had free will. As her free will returned something began to glow. She began to look around for the source only to realise it was her hands. In the confusion none of the gaurds noticed as she began to run. There were to many unaswered questions for her to die here. Her natural survival instincts kicked in and as she broke through a door a blast of almost redish energy blasted from her hands taking out five androids. As she broke through the final door she realised she was free only to notice that she was surronded by atleast twenty androids.

Nagato strode into the coliseum stage where Allain 119, the traitor android who had formerly been a part of Orion's personal guard, where she would be executed. Nagato himself, being designed for independent operations, had never fought or operated alongside Allain--though it of course made no difference whether or not Nagato had previously worked with the prisoner. She was a traitor and to be executed; he would think exactly the same thing of someone with whom he had worked extensively in the past.

As Nagato strode to the highest box, where he was assigned to watch over the proceedings, his eyes fell on Allain 119. She was unable to move due to the neural lock that bound her to the rest of Orion's army--how inefficient, Nagato thought. It seemed more logical to him that Orion should build androids like Nagato--with the independence of an unlinked android, but the full strength and deadliness of the most powerful. It was, of course, not his place to suggest what Orion should and should not do.

Even as Nagato thought this, he felt a strange shudder run down his 'spine'. Just a second later, all the power of the coliseum failed, and darkness reigned. As the humans panicked and the lower level androids remained useless in the darkness, Nagato's vision pierced the deep pitch black and made out the shape of Allain 119, running towards a door. Even as Nagato considered the fact that the door was quite securely sealed, a red blast emanated from Allain's hands, and the door blasted open, taking with it five of the androids gathered there.

Nagato leapt down from the observer box, rolling on his impact with the ground to minimise the strength of the impact. The next second, he was running right towards Allain, determined to recapture and restrain the prisoner. Twenty androids surrounded her, but Nagato was quite sure that he was a far bigger threat here.

Maztian was surprised. Not at the fact that all hell had basically broken loose and everything was in a state of chaos. No, he was surprised that someone else in this god-forsaken place had an ounce of fight in them, or at least enough to send the message that the boy had given himself the duty of sending. Although, were explosions and blasts really the way to get through to people? It all seemed a bit too much, and any normal human wouldn't really take in what was happening. They would be too busy rushing around trying to save their own skins. After all, they were only human.

But, back to the matter at hand. He was going to carry out his mission - chaos or not. As soon as he snapped to attention, he noticed that the prisoner had already removed her now useless bonds and was attempting to make a break for it all by herself. Obviously a futile attempt - the rest of her kind would be on her in a flash. Though breaking down the exit herself was slightly impressive. And sure enough, about 20 of them appeared in front of her, weapons at the ready. "Now now, that just won't do at all!" chuckled the boy as he raced forward, his massive sword now completely visible. There was no glow, no massive influx of power - the boy's true form was still unattained. This however, had never stopped him from reaching new heights in speed and power during training.

As he raced forward, he noticed other androids attempting to keep the crowd under control. A loud laugh escaped his lips as he sliced through them with ease. "No match for me, bots!" Without a second thought, he was off again, almost able to smell the prisoner. As he came to the final stretch, he noticed an upgraded form of Android with it's sights set completely on the boy's target. "Oh no you don't! She's mine!" He called out, running as fast as his legs could carry him. At the last second, the teenager lept into the middle of the circle of Androids and snatched their prey up for himself. To be honest, she was lighter than he thought she would've been (he could carry her over his left shoulder).

And with that, he lept out of the circle, now the centre of attention as the bullets flew at them both. "Time to get you out of here!" he yelled, bursting out into the courtyard before absolutely booking it down a pre-laid out forest trail. I could probably use some cover to make this easier. thought Maz, spinning around on the ball of his left foot as he approached a large tree. In a side-stepping motion, he thrust the Masamune towards the trunk with all of the strength he could spare. Without anymore effort, the massive trunk came crashing down across the path he'd just taken, taking a few smaller ones with it. Another smirk lay across his face as he rushed off into the night. You better appreciate this later. He thought.

Nagato had been racing right for Allain 119 when suddenly, almost out of nowhere it seemed, he saw, from the corner of his eyes, a young man, perhaps nothing more than a teenager, appear. Nagato at first assessed him to be nothing more than a spectator caught up in the battle, but when the teenager suddenly procured a sword and began attacking the other androids, that assessment went out the window. Nagato's primary target went from the seemingly defenseless Allain to the aggressor, this new human teenager.

The boy got there first somehow, due to his being closer to the girl, but Nagato was determined to prevent his prey from escaping. His eyes zeroed in on the boy, and a single hand, with all the power afforded to such an android, Nagato brought the hand down on the young man, determined to knock him entirely unconscious with one stroke.

It did not go entirely as planned, however; the boy managed to leap out of the circle; Nagato did not at all expect a human teenager to have such agility and strength, but that could be assessed after Nagato had captured him (as he surely would). Even as the boy leapt from the circle, Nagato kept right after him, keeping him in sight. The androids around them fired their weapons, but Nagato knew it was of no avail--he would have to catch them himself, without firearms.

As his quarry left the courtyard and fled down a forest path, Nagato found himself drawing closer than ever, his own android speed and agility proving superior. Just as he could reach an arm out to deliver another strike, a flash of metal, and one of the trees directly before Nagato crashed down onto him. The android barely had time to redirect his strike to the trunk, shattering it in half and deflecting the impact, sending both pieces of the tree flying through the air.

His target continued to flee, but Nagato did not intend to give up the chase there. His prey would have to do far better than this to escape him.

Orion was just about ready to enter the arena when he detected a strange signal coming from some of the androids. They looked just like his lower level androids, and although they were in formations Orion commonly uses, they weren’t in the proper area at the proper time. In fact, they were a good 5 seconds behind schedule, which is a long enough delay for them to mentally issue a report to him. He did a quick scan of all his androids around his location to confirm his suspicions. One of his squads was no longer broadcasting.

He was about to walk up to confront the imposters when all of a sudden the power went out, wiping out all signals that he was receiving. Luckily none of his higher level androids relied on signals, but the weakest ones were pretty much screwed. They were so incredibly cheap to make that it was still worth the hassle, but just barely.

His night vision switched on so he was able to see all the imposter androids running around and causing indiscriminate havoc. They couldn’t receive signals now either, so his lower class androids weren’t the only ones acting like chickens with their heads cut off. He sprung forward and grasped onto one of their arms, crushing it instantly but leaving just enough in tact for him to hold on to. Just as he was about to start downloading all his memory files, the android exploded, blinding him for a brief moment but leaving him otherwise completely unharmed despite the total obliteration of the other android. His androids were programmed to destroy themselves in the same situation as the imposter android, so he honestly didn’t expect much to come of it. Still, there was now one less crazed android running around to cause further damage.

“Master Orion!” One of his elite androids shouted. “Allain 119 has escaped, and she used Animus powers! Our sensors seemed to suggest that multiple Animus were around, so this is most likely one of their conspiracies!”

Upload whatever footage you gained of this and we’ll broadcast it on television once the signals go back up,”Orion order. “I hate for such a chaotic situation to occur, but if this serves as a lesson to some of the Animus supporters, then perhaps some good will come from this.”

The joy of victory was very soon demolished as the boy turned his head, finding that there was still at least one android giving chase. And if there was still at least one giving chase, it was obvious that it wouldn't have been one of the simpler models keeping up with him. And then it happened; in a single strike the tree Maz had caused to fall was in splinters. Definitely not one of the simpler models. Looks like I've got the upgraded version on my trail. I'll have to pull some pretty fancy tricks to elude him. thought the kid to himself.

Slicing down more trees was an option - but it was also rather messy, and easy to track. It was obvious that a new tactic was needed. A head on fight wouldn't do much for as long as he was holding Allain (she may've been lighter than first expected, but she wasn't exactly weighing in at a couple pounds). Maz was quickly running out of options, just as quickly as he was running out of places to go. "As reckless as it is, it looks like I'll have to drop her off for now. Once the fight's over I'll circle round and pick her back up." he sighed, making a rather sudden right turn and barely missing a hidden tree around the corner.

He dropped Allain next to a fallen tree and stood his ground in front of her. They weren't taking her from him, she was important for what he needed. Maz took a deep breath in, focusing on the trail he'd just come from. That Android would be there any moment, ready to try a retrieval. Not today, buddy. the teen smirked, raising his sword and readying a strike stance. "Masamune." he whispered, on pitch with the ring of the blade. It was a kind of resonance between them. His soul balanced in perfect harmony with the sword and the magic within it.

The fight wasn't going to be simple - the upgraded Androids were supposedly better armored, better trained... Just better. Hopefully, it still wasn't enough to take down the boy hoping for vengeance. For his Mother, for his Father, for his Nation and it's people. It was time to take the fight to them, and it'd be best that they were ready.

Nagato watched as the teenager suddenly dashed to the right, and made to follow him; Nagato was not expecting to see the traitor Allain 119 lying near a tree trunk, with the young man standing over her with the sword like her protector. It struck Nagato as highly foolish to attempt to wield a sword against modern weaponry--a primitive melee weapon of ages long, long past could surely not stand against the might and power of the technology of history's most advanced nation.

"A straight battle--highly illogical," Nagato spoke almost to himself in a dull, droning voice; he reached up, as if to adjust the peaked cap for a moment, his eyes remaining on the boy. At the same time, he was ceaselessly considering the environment and the factors that would be involved in the battle, calculating the quickest, simplest way to take down the teenager and retrieve Allain 119. Nagato did not deny that in a straight fight he had the advantage--greater speed, greater strength, greater agility. But it seemed this boy knew the surrounding area well--which may prove problematic if he decided to use that to his advantage.

Without the slightest indication or preparation, Nagato lunged forward towards Maztian. His plan--if the boy attempted to attack with his sword, Nagato would simply block the sword, and counter, quite simple; a blade was unlikely to be effective...no, certainly not effective, against an android. The quick and effortless subjugation of this unusual human boy would be rather pitifully easy...at least, logically, that would seem to Nagato.

((He does not know anything about the Masamune, so Nagato would not be able to take its powers into account.))

((Lol ok. Thanks for clarifying that; I was wondering during reading haha))

Sure enough, the Android had been right on his tail the entire time. Maztian was pleasantly surprised when he realised he'd had enough time to get ready. But now all focus was placed into the duel ahead; already the boy was looking for weak spots in his opponent's "skin". He'd really never enjoyed the fact that androids were made to look human. But that was what supposedly separated them from the robots and mechs of today. They were meant to seem human - a plight to fool the people into sympathy for their cause. But Maztian knew them for what they really were..

Everything was completely silent; not even the crickets chirped. There was no breeze, not even a slight draft. Even the Masamune's ringing had ceased. Maz felt a warm feeling within his chest - and not the warm fuzzy feeling that was felt during a touching moment. It was almost a burning sensation - but it wasn't heartburn. He knew what it was though. The monsters who destroyed his entire life, the lives of his parents, and the lives of all the Animus. They needed to be stopped, and in that moment he knew that he was going to stop them all. Starting with the one standing right in front of him.

As Nagato raced towards him, the teenager waited for the absolutely last moment before impact until striking. He dropped quickly into a crouching position, starting an anti-clockwise turn as he went down. Both hands gripping Masamune tightly at each extremity of it's hilt (which would allow for a cleaner and swifter slice), Maz swung the blade around, hoping to strike the Android's foot. A single battle cry escaped his lips as he thrust the sword forward, resonating and echoing for miles around.

"For Our People!"

After the boy picked her up Allain had went into a trance. While in this dreamlike state a flood of memories entered her mind. Memories that the doctor had once supressed. These memories were of an Animus warrior. One that was skilled in both hand to hand combat and with her trusty sword Kalisen. The sword was both an extension of her body and her powers. Now Allain knew what she was. The doctor had tried to change jer make her forget and for a long time she had, but now she knew. With her memories a flood of anguish came. She had lost the man she loved it had been a hundred years and surely he would be dead. But she felt strange familiar presence one that matched that of Matteo. As the young boy yelled his battle cry it woke her up. Feeling as if sye were in danger her powers activated and her sword appeared in her hand. With inhumane speed she got between the android and the boy using her sword to block the boys and a hand on thr android to stop him. "Stop, this fighting is useless. A hundred years ago this country waged a war against my people because we were different and would not submit. If you kill this android today it will only strengthen the hatred they have for my people. My name is Marie Allain and I am a first generation Animus. This fighting must cease if our people are ever to live peacfully with theirs." Tears were streaming down her face as she looked toward the boy. The resemblance was undeniable this boy must be a decendant of Matteo.

The moment Allain moved between the two combantants, Maz's lengthy blade was but a few inches away from Nagato's feet before that horrid clashing sound filled the air. It was not horrid because of the noise, but because it signified failure. Failing to save the prisoner, failing to kill the Android. And most of all, failing to get the vengeance that he and his parents rightfully deserved. The boy looked up at the cause of the fight's end, cursing her in his head for getting in the way. Then she started screeching some warning with her robotic voice. It was only barely passable as human, let alone female.

As Maz looked up, he gazed at the clashing swords. His own blade was still in perfect condition - he'd hit things a lot harder than another sword before. But it was plainly seen that the prisoner's own blade was dented quite extensively; so much so that Masamune had made a slot for itself to fit into. Despite this, the boy was outraged. "Idiot! What do you think you're doing?! Get out of here! Do you want to be taken back there?! What was running through your mind?! GO!" his voice was no longer that of a child's. Emotions of rage, sadness and pain ripped into him. The fire in his chest burned hotter now, and he could feel something else rising from within.

And then, as if to make things worse, Allain started preaching about the history of their people and the ways of attaining peace. But Maztian didn't want peace. He'd come for blood, and those who went looking for blood always found it. The teenager let out a primal scream, the power inside him overflowing. "I said, get out of here!" he bellowed, removing his sword from the prisoner's and smacking the hilt right into her chest. His intention was to make her fly a fair way backwards, out of the reach of Nagato. Maz knew that the Android was already making calculations and creating strategies to go with them concerning what the next logical thing to do was.

His primary target was Allain; therefore the closer he was to her the better. It was then that Maz noticed, The Masamune's blade was glowing blue - dimly enough that you could still see the blade, but brightly enough to give an example of what kind of power was held within. Realising the opportune moment had shown itself once again, the boy thrusted his sword forward once more, aiming for Nagato's hand. Perhaps he would get his sweet vengeance after all...

When Allain 119 suddenly sprang up and leapt between him and Maztian, Nagato was, for the first time, unsure of what to do, because this had been the last thing he had been expecting--simply because it was so...well, so unreasonable. This traitor, this Animus was attempting to stop them from fighting--Nagato had no intention of doing so. He intended to do one thing and one thing only; retrieve or kill the prisoner. If this boy continued to get in the way he would be captured or killed as well.

The boy, however, it seemed, followed this train of thought--that is, he seemed to realise how foolish it was to attempt to stop Nagato from carrying out his mission, because he continued to attempt to attack him. Humans can be so illogical at times, Nagato thought to himself as he saw the blade moving towards his arm--slowly, it seemed, as Nagato's mind slowed the movement down and began to consider it. It was a wild, uncalculated move (humans tended to make wild, uncalculated moves, especially in combat) and Nagato was able to sidestep, dodging the attack. He then raised an elbow to bring it down on the human's head, to be followed immediately by a punch to the stomach that would collapse any ordinary human's lungs. He then moved backwards with the speed only an elite android could possess.

Maz barely had time to re-evaluate his position after his second attack also failed to connect. Though this time, it was because of his own error. A miscalculation, and one that could certainly cost him. As the Android countered, bringing down his elbow, it connected hard on the back of the boy's head. The entirety of his upper half bent down, his ribs crying out under the pressure. Amazingly though, the kid was able to keep on his feet. The pain was excruciating, no doubt about it. But there was still hope for the kid yet.

He hadn't trained for years to sit down and take a beating. Least of all from an android. The rage flared once more, but before he could take up arms once more, another harsh blow caught him right in his gut. But something was different. Maz was speechless - he'd never experienced anything like this. He'd taken two massive hits, any normal human would be a pile of bones by now.. But he was still on his feet. Everything above his waist was in agony, but he was still standing. He knew that the Animus blood in him had special quantities and features, but this was amazing..

He watched as the blur that was the android retreated back slightly. He was fast, and really strong.. Suddenly the boy kneeled down, his fists planting themselves in the dirt. "Darn it! I can't do it!" he cried out. After all, he was still a boy at heart. He'd done well so far, but it seemed that all of this had been way out of his league from the very start. He was defeated, done. He was still alive, and lucky for it. Walking away was his best option. The boy was a survivalist - keeping alive was his thing. Surrender, and maybe he'll let you live.. he thought to himself. But before his mouth could send the message, something fell out of the teenager's hood, landing on the Masamune's blade.

It was the note.. the note that contained his mother's message to him. His code. The words that he'd swore he'd live by. Lifting the note up, Maz placed it back into it's compartment. "Get up off the floor and try..." he whispered to himself, only half aware that he was up, sword in hand. "And never let them see you cry..." he continued. The boy placed himself in a ready stance, The Masamune held to his right side. "It's up to me to stand and fight.." The blade began to glow once more, as though the very words powered it. "Because I *know* the time is right!" he roared, charging at Nagato. Seconds passed as he advanced on his opponent, and soon the blade came swinging forward. A downward, diagonal slice starting from the right flew towards the android, followed by a forward stabbing thrust.

Maztian was absolutely livid, all of his emotion now splayed across the sword, truly an extension of himself. His speed was amazing, to be sure. But was it enough to beat Nagato?

As the boys blade removed itself from hers it began to repair itself. She was about to protest the fight again when the boys sword connected with her sending her flying and caused her to crash through a tree. That's when the full extent of her powers activated. Feeling as if she had been hurt her powers began to repair her body. First her mechanical arms fell off and in their place flesh and blood then she fell to the ground as her legs fell off. She screamed in agony a sound that was human and no longer android. She could feel that some parts of her were still mechanical but for the most part she was animus. As she stood up her hands were covered in a dark redish energy thay she shot out at the ground between the two. "Stop, this is pointless we must escape now!"

Nagato watched his opponent, and though his face remained as stone cold as ever, this was most unexpected. The two blows he had dealt to the boy should have killed him outright. And yet not only was he still alive, he was still determined to fight. The fact he had lived through two full-power attacks by an android suggested one of two things about the boy--either he was an Android himself (unlikely but possible), or he was also an Animus. Either way, Nagato had underestimated his opponent, and perhaps that would cost him in this battle.

As the boy charged towards him, Nagato prepared to counter. He was faster--far faster than he had been a moment ago, but he was still giving Nagato time to consider the factors at play here. Any other android, perhaps, and this boy would have been victorious, but there was no android like Nagato: Nagato 3A never gave up once he had found his target.

The sword swung at Nagato, and the android dodged backwards to avoid it, counting on the fact that such a long sword was surely heavy enough that it would carry on its full swing, and then take a split second too long to strike again. Certainly it would have been true if the sword were an entirely normal sword. The second stroke came far sooner than Nagato expected, and though he was able to avoid a killing stroke, the blade cut through the fabric of his uniform at the front and cut into a layer of his 'skin', leaving not a bloody wound as a human injury would, but merely a second layer concealed below the first.

As Nagato lunged forward again, determined to end this fight once and for all with a single, full-power blow to the boy's head, yet again the traitor Allain 119 interfered. Nagato barely stopped his assault as an explosion of red energy sprang up directly in front of him.

"You are a fool," Nagato said bluntly. "if you think this battle can be halted so easily." With those words, he continued his attack, directed not at the boy but at Allain--to simply capture her, leave the boy there (Nagato would later hunt him down as well) and then oversee a successful, flawless execution of a traitor.

As the Masamune cut into Nagato, Maz's expression changed somewhat quickly, happy that he'd finally struck a blow on the bucket of bolts. Ok, you've done well. He thought to himself. Don't get cocky, he didn't seem too shaken up by that one. Focus! Sure enough, the Android shot forward again and the boy steeled himself for impact. Even he knew his limits - he'd have to wait for another window of opportunity presented itself. Before the crushing blow however, a shot of red energy flew right by Nagato's head, barely missing him. Allain was acting rashly... again.

But this time, it was just what the kid had needed. Without a sound, he charged foward, sword staying low to the ground. Nagato was still busy reprimanding the prisoner for what he believed to be her stupidity. Nevertheless, about a second later, the robot was focused right back on his opponent and charging forward. This was it - everything came down to the timing within this crucial moment. Now that Nagato knew that Maz was charging for him again, the boy saw no harm in making a little more noise. They got closer and closer, until finally..

"Now, Masamune!!" cried the kid, leaping left and swinging the sword low, aiming for the Android's leg. He watched the sword as he flew by, how it caught on something right inside Nagato's left knee, before ripping it out harshly. And with that move came the satisfactory, metal slicing sound. The sound that meant one thing - It was time to get out of there. Maz hit the ground running, making a circle around the robot and calling out to Allain. "Alright, have it your way! Let's get out of here!" And with that, he started sprinting off, back on the trail he'd been on no more than ten minutes earlier.

Nagato stared after the young man, fleeing with the traitorous android in tow. His leg units were damaged, damaged to the extent that Nagato could not move nearly as fast as he could at full capacity. He had made the fatal mistake of underestimating this boy and his sword--that sword. It was no ordinary sword, for no ordinary sword could cut through an android's 'skin', there was no way. And the way it had glowed...no, it was not possible for such a weapon to possibly be ordinary metal.

At that point, however, Nagato simply straightened himself. There was something bubbling up in him--something he could not understand. It was the most unusual feeling, a sensation he had never before felt in himself. It was like something was coming to the surface, slowly, gradually...

And then it came to the surface. Anger. Rage. Fury. At the fact that he had been defeated. Without warning, Nagato's arm flashed out, and smashed into a tree; the force with which his gloved knuckles impacted against the tree trunk shattered it, and the chunks of wood fell to the ground. Nagato had, for the first time, felt something--emotion, a thing entirely alien to him. He had never before been defeated, and he had never before abandoned the hunt when he began it--and yet now that was what had happened. The thought of it...that was what brought about the flash of rage.

But that was not entirely true, Nagato reminded himself as he felt the anger, such a strange, unknown thing, coursing through him. The hunt was not yet over--it had only just begun, and next time he would ensure his targets suffered for their actions here.

As the android went down Allin dashed off towards the boy. She easily caught up to him and then matched her stride to his. "Why did you save me back there? What did you have to gain from rescuing what was believed to be a defective android?" As they ran she began to regain more memories of who she was. As one particular memory came back she suddenly halted and dropped to her knees. She was crying from the pain of losing her brother. The pain was as fresh as if he had just died in front of her. She had to end this fighting and there was only one wy to do that. She had already made it up in her mind as she got up and started running in a different direction. She was heading for an old Animus Temple.

Amid the chaos and disarray Ankaa had quietly slipped away unnoticed. She had had a meeting arranged with a very unique individual. As she made her way back to sector four she watched as a group of her androids slipped away with the relic. When she arrived at her manor later that day the relic would no doubt be there. Annka pulled her hood up as she entered a dispicable looking tavern it was named the musky boar and the odor inside did justice to the name. While she despised the place this was probably the only area in her sector where the people would not know her. She had been waiting for an hour when the individual arrived. "Your late" Annka said with iritation in her voice. Annka despised when a person was late it threw off the rest of her carefully scheduled day. "Well now that you are finally here let's get down to business." She pulled a bag of money out of her cloak and sat it on the table. "There is your usual up front fee and the rest will be delivered upon your completion. The job I need done is not unlike the ones you do for your leader. Don't act surprised I am probably one of the most informed individuals in the city. Now back to the issue at hand. I need you to track down and kill a certain escaped criminal her name is Allain and she escaped from Orion not two hours ago. All I know is they headed west bound out of the city and into the jungle. If you do this for me then your obligation to me will be fulfilled and I will no longer need you." As she finished talking she ordered a glass of wine and waited for her to leave.

Reiha strutted into the Musky Boar, late as usual but not that it mattered. She was a very busy young woman and having some boring meeting in a boring location didn’t exactly peak her interest. Still, it paid well for a side job when she wasn’t getting any other assignments from Liliquoi. She never hid these meetings from Liliquoi because she would find about them anyways, and she didn’t seem to care. As long as Reiha got her job done, which she always did, then there was no problem.

Most of the inhabitants of this tavern were quite ugly, causing Ankaa to stand out like a sore thumb around them. She spotted her instantly and sat down at the table in as elegant of a manner as possible. Ankaa was angry and gave her a short lecture before getting to the point.

"There is your usual up front fee and the rest will be delivered upon your completion. The job I need done is not unlike the ones you do for your leader. Don't act surprised. I am probably one of the most informed individuals in the city,” Ankaa said.

Reiha had tried to suppress her emotions, but that took her off guard. Could she have truly found out who she works for, or had she been fooled into believing that Doctor Rech was the one responsible?

“Now back to the issue at hand,” she continued. “I need you to track down and kill a certain escaped criminal. Her name is Allain and she escaped from Orion not two hours ago. All I know is they headed west bound out of the city and into the jungle. If you do this for me then your obligation to me will be fulfilled and I will no longer need you."

“Fine,” Reiha replied, scooping up the cash. She had heard that Allain was an android, but turned out to have Animus powers as well. That was an interesting combination, but Reiha also had combination that was far superior. Inorganic parts usually couldn’t hold Animus powers very well, so Allain’s transformation into an Animus shouldn’t be able to benefit her as much as Reiha’s transformation does. Plus, two powerful bloodlines flowed through her veins that had never been mixed before, making her a rare gem among the commoners. She had never met anyone who matched her abilities, so what could a bucket of bolts do against her? She decided not to bring any weapons along to make such a fight at least halfway interesting.

She got out of her seat and let out a yawn of boredom before heading out on her mission.

This was it. The day she would finally get him to notice her. Kat had dressed her best and even put her music away. She brushed her brilliant blue hair and brushed her teeth thrice as long as usual. She couldn't have bad breath get in her way today! She did her make-up, trimmed her nails, and sprayed on her best perfume. When she believed herself finished, she checked her mirror. Her breasts and butt looked great in her outfit. She smirked in the mirror and said to herself, "I'm sure that will get his attention."

She yelled to her parents that she was going outside for a bit. Once out there, Kat practically bee-lined it to his house. The trip itself didn't take long. His house was only seven houses down. That wasn't a problem. Gathering the courage to ring the door bell was. There were so many things that could go wrong! Oh no! Why had she come? Kat was mentally berating herself when he came through the door and ran right into her! He had been focusing on talking to his parents as he came out and didn't see her.

Both on the porch, Kat gazed up to see his red face right over her red face. She could feel the heat like a sun. He got up and while doing so, Kat noticed he had landed between her legs. So that's why he was blushing. She got up as well and scooted a little ways away. He scratched the back of his head and apologized. Then he asked, "What are you doing here, Kat?" She was a little speechless. He knew her name? He never seemed to notice her. "I just came to...uh...see if you wanted to hang-out some time. T-that is unless you don't want to. I mean I would be okay with it if you didn't," she explained rather nervously.

He seemed to ponder it for a bit. Her hopes were soaring. 'Coming over here was a splendid idea!' she thought. It all seemed to be going well anyway. Maybe her luck would hold out and he would let her hang out with him this very day!

As they finally started making progress and getting as far away from Orion as possible, Maz began to slow down ever so slightly. A lot of his energy had been spent in this rescue attempt, and after all that had went down it was more than obvious that now was the time to begin resting and recovering. Before he had the chance to present the choice to Allain however, she'd thrown a question at him. She wants to know why I saved her? he repeated in his own mind.

"I wasn't rescuing you for your sake. My actions are not limited to your wellbeing, nor the idea that you should have been saved. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. I rescued you for the simple fact that I wanted to start something bigger. Something that would mark the very beginning of the end for the precious Council of Five and that despicable being they call *Emperor*. They need to pay for what they've done to our people, what they've done to me." His voice carried dark, almost malicious undertones as he spoke, something that surprised even him.

But before he could even receive an answer, the boy noticed that he was now moving by himself. Where had Allain gone..? Maz began to backtrack, eventually finding her back on the path, tears flowing from her eyes. What in the world had gotten in to her? She had been fine a couple minutes ago. The kid scratched his head, more than confused. And to make things even more puzzling, the former Android began to take off on a completely different trail... "Oi!" He cried after her. "Where the hell are you going?!" There was no response; she was gone.

Maztian shook his head. While he knew the decent thing to do was run off after her, he'd never been one to stick his neck out for someone else. Even the rescue had been for his own motives, so it couldn't be counted as something he'd done for someone else. "Fine." he whispered, though the words would have no way of reaching her. "My plan was to help you escape, and now that you have, you're free to do what you please. You're no longer my problem. It's time for me to lay low for a while.."

And with that, the boy took off back down his own path, off towards the hideout he'd set up a few days prior.

'Friends will come and go, but you're stuck with your Mates forever."

Nagato stretched out his now repaired leg units. The anger he had felt was still fizzing within him, but it seemed gone now--which was a good thing. Whatever that was, it had been a strange, unwelcome sensation, one which Nagato did not want: it was more likely to interfere with his duties than help anyone anyway. He would have to see about getting that removed from him--whatever it had been.

That boy had managed to do what no one else had ever, ever done. Injure Nagato, and halt him in his mission. But Nagato refused to accept that the boy was superior--it was not possible. "I am an android of the highest calibre--the most powerful in existence," he muttered to himself as he walked down the junctions and avenues of Sector 5 towards his 'home'. The place where Nagato lived was not where one would expect a high-ranking android to live, really. He would only spend an hour or two there before setting out yet again for the hunt--to capture Allain, and to kill that boy.

Nagato walked up the stairs that led up to a pristine, high-class apartment building. The place was entirely empty, and no sound penetrated the silence of it; one would think no one at all lived here. He walked up to one of the doors, opening it and stepping into his home.

There were only two rooms: a main room that acted as a bedroom, dining room, and living room, and a small kitchen to the side. It was quite empty. In one corner was a small, unassuming bed, and around the room the walls were lined with bookcases; a number of bandages and rags were thrown about the room, on the floor and on the bed. Nagato walked to one of the bookcases, took out a book (by random, it would seem), turned to one of the pages, and sat on the bed reading.

Reiha had just found the scene of a battle that occurred not too long ago, and Animus powers had definitely been used. She could still sense the leftover energy radiating around her. Oddly enough, two robot arms and legs had been discarded, but didn't appear to have been cut off. If they were Allain’s, she’d probably be in bad shape right now, unless…

It usually took at least a week to grow back lost limbs in their entirety, but why was there two separate footprints heading off into the distance? According to eye witness, Allain was only accompanied by one young male, and from there Nagato was the only one to give chase. His footprints are obvious, but there are still two other sets. Instantaneous regeneration…was that a one time deal or was Allain far more powerful then she gave her credit for? Judging by the footprints the two fugitives split up, so Reiha was confident that she could handle Allain in a one on one match. It’s good that she was heading toward an area not normally visited by others. That will leave the battle between just the two of them with no distractions getting in her way.

She rushed off toward the path Allain had taken, quickly catching up to her in time before they reached an old Animus temple that loomed on the horizon. There were few Animus temples left, but the Emperor had spared this particular one for one reason or another. It was the closest Animus temple to the capital city, but was otherwise nothing special from what she could gather.

“Trying to find out more about you heritage?” She called out to Allain once she got within earshot.

Reiha activated her powers when she was sure Allain was watching, just to see the expression on her face. Even androids showed emotions at times.

“Don’t bother. I’m going to finish you off right now. Just activate your powers so we can get this battle over with,” Reiha ordered, waiting for her to make the first move.
