OOC Qiu Yue sat by herself on a rock while watching the ocean. 'Just how long have I been on this side of the island?' She thought to herself. Qiu Yue feels ashamed. She had been a respected warrior, but now she has nothing. All because of the dragon mark. She gently touched the nape of her neck. 'Why was I chosen? What is my purpose?' As she got up to pace back and forth, her foot accidentally hits something in the sand. Qiu Yue bent down, brushed off some sand, and picked up...a scroll! She unrolled it and read the letters in bold: The Dragon Scroll. She gasped. This was a legendary scroll that was supposed to have disappeared forever! She clutched it tightly in her hand and ran back to where the others are. When she arrived, Qiu Yue exclaimed,"I found the Dragon Scroll!" Edited by XxFlyingOnigirixX, December 2, 2010, 3:04 am.

Not far away from Qiu Yue, two other figures were also watching the ocean--one was lying back on the rocks of the beach, her hands behind her head, while the other sat beside her. For a moment, they remained like this. The sound of the ocean's waves rolling gently over the beach not too distant from where the two figures themselves sat was the only noise that disturbed their solitary peace. Clouds obscured the sun's rays, casting an ominous shadow down upon the beach. The world was quiet and untroubled. As the water receded from the beach, returning to the arms of the oceans, An Ling Zenian sat up, sweeping the long brown hair, tied back, over her shoulder, and turning to look to her companion. Wu Zenian returned An Ling's glance with her own black, stony stare, a slightly inquisitive note within their obsidian-like, sharp pupils. An Ling had the ability to read Wu's emotion through her eyes in ways that few others could--perhaps that was because of the sibling bond that they unknowingly shared with one another. "Perhaps we should return," An Ling suggested. "It's getting a bite late." "Agreed," Wu nodded, climbing to her feet and helping An Ling to stand. Without another word, the two set off side by side, walking away from the waters that continued to lap quietly at the rocks. It was soon that they arrived back at the large forest glade they called home. Even as they just arrived, An Ling and Wu set about looking in on everyone there, as if to ensure that all were well. By now for both it had become almost a habit to consider themselves responsible for the entire group--neither was even really conscious of it, but even if they were not aware of it, An Ling and Wu felt that they bore the responsibility of caring for this group of teenagers. They noticed that Qiu Yue seemed to be absent--but no sooner had they considered this that the girl who held the sign of the Ox Dragon suddenly rushed into the forest glade and declared that she had found the Dragon Scroll. An Ling paused wondering if this could truly be the Dragon Scroll, but Wu immediately made her way to Yue, glancing down at the scroll. After a second, she slowly held out a hand and asked, "May I see it?" |

Qiu Yue, taking in a deep breath, handed the scroll to Wu and said,"Here. I found it on the beach while I was deep in thought. I haven't fully read it, but I think the scroll will tell us why we have these marks in the first place." She pointed to the mark on her neck. |

Ying Chiao found herself staring off into space yet again. It was somewhat of a bad habit of hers. It could even be considered a dirty pleasure of hers to make the world a blank slate and create her own alternate world to entertain herself for a while. Sometimes, the daydream would consist of some fantasy brought up by her most recent book; an ending she rewrote or a relationship never kindled or developed as she wished all playing out at her direction in her mind. Some people, well most people actually, thought it was completely and utterly rediculous that instead of staying in the real world with everyone else, she'd rather slip off into the imaginated place that existed only within her bottomless mind. But who were they to judge her on what was reality? As far as she was concerned, the small island that she was stuck on was as much of a figment of her imagination as the stories she created. Her mind wandered, not exactly hearing or seeing anything around her at all as she sat on the back porch of the house, her feet dangling off the edge. She was facing the ocean and the cool breeze touched her face, trying to lull her out of her reverie but even the tempting waters and wind couldn't bring her out of the battle between good and evil that was continuing within her brain. A smile was stuck to her face as her body leaned against a supporting beam of the house and her eyes glazed over. She was such a space cadet but Ying didn't care. Well, that was until she heard the words that she'd been pondering over for quite some time: The Dragon scroll. Ying popped her dream bubble, shoving it into the back recesses of her mind as she tuned back into the real world. She looked over the others and spotted Qui Yue as she ran in and announced her finding of the Dragon scroll. How the? "Seriously?" Ying asked, not exactly convinced that the scroll would just pop up out of nowhere. "Where'd you find it?" Ying continued, not moving from where she sat on the patio but instead turning her torso towards the inside of the house and Qui Yue. She noticed that An Ling and Wu had entered, giving them both a small smile before continuing to scan the shape and lighting on the Dragon scroll. So this was what it was all about. Ying felt a strange lurch within her chest, as if her body could feel something changing slowly and surely in her world. That piece of parchment had something to do with her marking, so blatantly placed on her left temple for the rest of the normal world to see. |

Qiu Yue turned to Ying Chiao and said,"I found it on the beach. It was just sitting in the sand...slightly buried." As she looked at the scroll, Qiu Yue felt something stir within her. 'What is this feeling?' She thought with a confused expression on her face. |

With a cat-like hiss, Xiao lunged for Jin, the claws in her gloves extended and intended to collide with flesh. Half way through the lunge, Xiao watched as Jin side stepped and started to move his staff through the air. Unable to stop her lunge, the tiger zodiac fell right into the rabbit's snare and was hit in the back by the staff. With cat-like reflexes, however, Xiao jumped away to deflect any further damage, and started to circle her 'prey'. Xiao and Jin had never really gotten along, but this wasn't a real fight. The two often sparred on lazy days so that Xiao could keep healthy physically, and so Jin could keep amused intellectually. He was always a step ahead of her though, and only once had she ever drawn blood. She still swears that he went easy on her that time and never actually counts that time, even though he still has a scar on his shoulder from her metal claws. When Xiao was about to lunge again, Jin twisted his staff so it was pointing towards her and then sighed. "Lets go back to camp...I'm hungry..." Xiao couldn't believe it. At a time like this, the rabbit boy was thinking about food? Frowning, Xiao dropped her hands to her side with a bit of force that almost looked like a mini tantrum. "What? REALLY?" she then rolled her eyes to the sky in frustration. Merely seconds later, Jin shifted his stance and swung his staff in an arch as it landed on her shoulder gently, but with enough force to say 'i win'. "REALLY?! Cheater!" Xiao roared in protest. Jin merely laughed and then turned around, heading back for camp. "I really am hungry though...lets go" Xiao hung her head in defeat and followed the dark haired boy back to their 'home' for...dinner? Or lunch? She really couldn't tell. She and Jin had been out since morning either sparring, or just messing around. She normally didn't spend time with Jin, so it was a good day, especially since the weather was so nice for such a day. |

Wu took the scroll from Yue gently, and scanned her eyes over it momentarily. As she read it, her stony expression never changed, though there was the tiniest quiver in her eyes as she read her own name--her very own name--on the scroll; the movement would be almost unnoticeable to anyone besides An Ling or, perhaps, Ying, who had just walked up. Wu glanced up momentarily to meet eyes with Ying, while An Ling gave a friendly smile and nodded her head. She then returned her eyes to the scroll, reading it from Wu's side; when both had finished, Wu paused, and then nodded gravely, as if understanding something. "This is..." Wu hesitated mid-sentence, before turning to Ying and holding out the Dragon Scroll. "Here, take a look," she said, before turning back to An Ling. The brown of An Ling's eyes and the black of Wu's seem to communicate something between them, something that could not be felt or detected by anyone else; for a split second they locked their eyes, before continuing on. "What do you think?" An Ling asked Ying. She herself was unsure of what to think--which was strange to An Ling. The scroll spoke of things that she would have to think about to truly grasp. It had detailed the specific zodiac of each person there--and much more, much more than An Ling had yet suspected. |

VIBRATIONS SO GOOD LIKE A SUNKIST!

Yueliang was playing in the ocean, kicking up water and even jumping around like a little kid. Swiming and even trying to catch some fish with his hands, but that was a lost cause. He didn't have much to keep him entertained, so he normally spends time in the water not caring if his mark was being shown. Yueliang started to float on his bakc looking up at the sky "funny way my life turned out.... well it could be worse" smiling up at the sun. Yueliang went under the water real fast, he looked around while holding his breath. He noticed a school of fish swimming around as he decided to chase after them. After about fourteen seconds under the water he couldn't hold it anymore. He bolted up to the surface, coming up out of the water, he sat there catching his breath. Yueliang looked in front of him and couldn't see the island "oh crap!! where'd the island go!?!" he almost panicked as he turned around and seen the island wasn't that far away. He felt a relief as as he started floating on his back again. Unable to hear anything with water in his ears, He started looking up at the sky again trying to think of something new to do. |

In order to get back to their camp, Jin and Xiao had to make their way to the beach and then re-enter the forest to make it to their small clearing. At some point when they all found their way to this little area they had made a really strong barrier of brush and thorns around the area that looked natural and that would keep people from accidentally stumbling across their home of exile. The plans had been done by Jin and their leader and so far no one has stumbled across them. Also with only one real entrance, everyone knew whenever someone was coming their way. As Jin and Xiao got to the sandy beach, Jin saw someone out in the water splashing about. Squinting against the sun, Jin tried to see who it was all the way out there. The body then dove under the water and then resurfaced a few feet away from its original place. "Who is that? I can't see..." Jin said to Xiao. Turning to look at his red headed sparring partner she shrugged, unable to see Yueliang. "Dunno..." she then waved her hands and shouted out to yueliang. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey...come back to the camp with uuuuuuuuus" of course it was someone they knew...right? Who else would be here? Xiao then realized who it was as she ran to the edge of the water. Apparently her eyes were better than his...and that really annoyed Jin. She then called out again "leeeeeaaadeeeer!!!" It was then that jin recognized Yueliang's hair and realized it was their leader rather than just any old member of their little outcast pack. Edited by Kitten, December 3, 2010, 6:56 pm.

Ying grew more curious by the minute as the girls looked over the Dragon scroll, though her face stayed as neutral as possible. She wasn't one to show much emotion when it wasn't necessary. Her body felt as if it was being magnetically pulled to the scroll and it took all her will power not to make a complete fool of herself and sprint over to the piece of parchment. It would be that paper's destiny to just randomly appear on the beach, in the sand as Qiu Yue stated. Ying couldn't help but wonder exactly why it had chosen now of all times to appear. Why not when they were born or when they were exiled to this desolate side of the island? It humored her to think of it as a "coming of age" thing. Then again, it was quite possible that the scroll had been there the entire time and no one had seen it until now. Destiny was a funny little thing. Ying couldn't help herself anymore, especially after An Ling called to her, and got up from the back porch. She walked over to the small group that had formed and immediately her eyes went to the scroll. Her brain was hungry and eager to find out all the secrets and truths it held for her to know, along with the others. Her stomach churned and Ying found herself nervous! For once in her entire life, Ying felt the nerves in her body go on edge as she took the Dragon Scroll gently into her hands and read each word, each character it offered up to her. Her mind calculated and consumed every bit of knowledge given by the scroll and found herself somewhat breathless when she finished. "It all makes sense now. It doesn't make me feel any better about this exile but it all seems so clear with this. We were all meant to be here with these specific zodiac characters on our skin as a sign of the dragons. It's not just some silly superstition the village worries about. If this scroll rings true, there is a meaning behind this all. There's someone out there that has the soul of an evil spirit. We, apparently, are meant to stop it somehow," Ying ranted on as she continued to go over the scroll in wonderment. It was the best entertainment and food for her mind. Forget all the stories she used to make up on her downtime to fill up the void created by this empty island. It seemed almost hopeful to think that this scroll made her life, as well as every other one of the outcasts on this side of the island, destined for something larger than all of them combined. |

Yueliang thought he heard something but he wasn't to sure. He turned his head, making his right eye go under the water. "wait someone is calling me" Yueliang rolled over in the water and seen who it was "hey Jin and Xiao... wonder what they want?". He started making his way over to them, luckly he wasn't that far and got to the sore fast. Walking out of the water, he started shaking his head throwing water around as if he was a dog trying to get dry. Yueliang ran over and picked his shirt off the ground. He started using it as a towel... he didn't care about water. Turning back around he looked at the two "so what's up? Or did I do something wrong?" he started looking around himself. Only to stop at the sound of his stomach growling ".....ooook i'm hungry, time to go back to camp" he would never sit in one spot to long, seems he forgot alot of things also. |

Jin just stood there without saying anything as Yueliang came back to shore, dried off and then asked what they want. He was back to his usual self now that he wasn't sparring. Xiao also seemed back to her normal self and shook her head with a 'cool' shrug. "We were just gonna ask you back with us." then when Yueliang mentioned he was hungry and they should head back to camp Jin couldn't help but smile inwardly and look towards the sand at his bare feet. He never wore shoes because all year round the weather was nice and although the terrain could get rough in the woods, his feet weren't too sensitive. Now that they had agreed to head back to the camp without too much conversation about it, Jin turned and started walking in the direction, staff in hand shifting step by step. He too was starting to get hungrier and hungrier. Hopefully one of the women had gotten dinner, otherwise he'd have to go out and get his own food and he was too tired for that. Once they got back to the camp, Jin traveled completely silently and Xiao had finally given up on her bubbly mood and was being moody again, Jin saw a few of the women huddled together. Cocking his head to the side, Jin looked at the two others then walked over to the others to see what they were looking at. Xiao rushed past him, shoving him a bit to get ahead of him, then bounced into the midsts of the huddle and boldly grabbed the scroll so she could read it while asking "What's this, guys?" |

Qiu Yue's eyes widened slightly when Xiao grabbed the scroll out of Ying's hand and exclaimed,"Be careful! That's the Dragon Scroll! It contains all the reasons why we have the dragon mark on our skin!" She let out a sigh of relief when she saw that the scroll was still intact. |

Ooc: I,ll leave this here as I work on introducing Fang formally to the rest of the group. -Meanwhile on the other side of the Island- « Fang! » She yelled as she banged on the door of the only bathroom within the household. How long as he been in there? How long does it take to get ready for school? Why was she so surprise? This was their ritual. No matter how early this one gets up, her younger brother will find his way to the sole bathroom before her and he’ll take his time. This infuriated her, as she, unlike her older sisters, still lived in the parental home. She was about to pound on the door once more, when it was swept open. “You shouldn’t yell you’ll break that pretty voice of yours” He said casually as he leaned against the door frame, only wearing his towel. She puffed her cheeks and was about to move past him, when he stopped her with his hand. “No Hello? How unladylike. Good morning sister” He whispered as he pecked her lightly on her cheek and moved past her. The door slammed behind him. He had a smirk on his face. His short hair was combed, his facial hair had been shaved and he simply looked fabulous. He continued o with his morning ritual as he went to his room to put on his school uniform. He took his time putting it on as he kept the mirror in his peripheral vision, delicately putting his clothes on as if they would shatter if put on too harshly. The white shirt, black pants and shiny black shoes were on, and just as he stepped out of his room, he caught his sister leaving hers. They both headed for the kitchen were they proceeded to consume their breakfast. Their parents were already gone for work. “Sister; I’m sorry I took so long in the bathroom” Fang admitted as he kept his head down in an apologetic manner. It was odd, he never apologized for that, but he continued before she could ask. “I had a nightmare last night and I couldn’t sleep.” He looked up to hers and gave her a bright smile. “Had to put on more concealer to cover up the bags beneath my eyes. It was tough, had to put it in the right amount. Is it noticeable?” He asked as he raised his head and pointed beneath his eyes. It was concealed to perfection; she probably wouldn’t have known had he not told her. The young woman shook her head. “Want to talk about it?” She asked with a worried tone, but Fang quickly shook his head and gave her a bright smile. “Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t I don’t really remember, but… if I do remember it. I’ll tell you about it, though… Don’t dwell on it. Can’t have my beautiful big sister worry about her handsome little brother while she could be breaking poor little boys hearts” He said happily as they finished eating and made their way to school. The two siblings chatted casually about nothing and everything; their homework, their classmates, their conquests… typical teenage stuff, when Fang suddenly fell on his knees and clutched his stomach and he let out a pained grunt. “Fang! Are you alright?!” She asked as she knelt down next to him. The pain… The pain was unbearable! Something in his chest was imploding, or it felt like it. He couldn’t even answer; all he could do was scream in pain as his sister quickly grabbed her cellphone to call for an ambulance. Fang wasn’t the sort to fake an illness to get out of school. |

Fang: "Look at you, you're gorgeous, you're beautiful, and when i look into your beautiful eyes all I see is this magnificent elegant creature, full of grace, full of strength. You're mesmerizing. You're intoxicating. I want you near me. I want to indulge you." Ryan: "If my survival means the death of innocents, then so be it" Kyliden: "This one is strong. He's brave and takes what he needs. He's a better werewolf then i could ever wish to be." Diego: "I can't control what i feel, querida mia. This spark will become a big lively fire. It will consume me, it will consume you and everyone around us, and once nothing is left, new life will spring eternal." Wade: "She made me love her before she sired me. She wanted a companion, a friend, a lover to indulge her throughout the centuries. Her demise filled me with emptiness; she was to give me a purpose and now I'm alone."

Yueliang watched as Xiao pushed Jin aside and grabbed what the group of girls were looking at. He just stood there, slowly falling into his own mind and thinking of what to eat. Yueliang started walking away until he heard Qiu Yue say dragon scroll, "wait... the dragon scroll?". He was wondering what it had to say, he walked over to the group and pulled the scroll out of Xiao's hand and started looking over it. Yueliang made a face as his stomach made another noise of hunger "man! how can I read when i'm this hungry?". Yueliang looked at Qiu Yue and handed the scroll over to her. Walking past the group and up to Jin "any clue what we got for food? I think i'm going to pass out if I don't get something" he let out a little chuckle, only to stop because of his stomach. Ying felt herself twitch when Xiao grabbed the scroll out of her hands. She and Ying never got along quite well for one reason or another. Xiao annoyed her sometimes but Ying tried not to let it seem too apparent for the sake of the group. It was stupid and very immature for her to even feel irritated with that hyper girl! Ying mentally shut herself up, remembering that it was all so dumb. Be the bigger person, she reminded herself. God, along with being so curious she was very irritable. She glanced down at the scroll one more time before turning her attention to the boys who’d entered the room. Ying gave a small laugh at Yueliang when he complained of his hunger. “I’m guessing you haven’t eaten anything?” Ying asked, knowing fairly well the answer. Before he could reply, she rolled her eyes and went off to the kitchen to start something up for everyone to eat. Sometimes, she felt like she was the mother. That was a bit dull. Well, when things got boring in real life, Ying just reminded herself of the escape she could always take when she was creating her stories. With this in mind, Ying began to chop up some vegetable, going over everything she’d read on the scroll before it was taken from her. She felt as if she’d been robbed of her baby. It was just so filled with knowledge! It was eating at her, this curiosity as to what it all meant for the group. Ying was so involved in her thought process that common sense was ignored. Her common sense kept yelling “Don’t use a SHARP KNIFE when you’re not PAYING ATTENTION!” Of course, she decided not to acknowledge this until the knife came down on her skin. “Ow!” She cried quietly, making sure she didn’t scream for the entire world to know. The knife had so thoroughly chopped into her thoughts (and finger) that when she felt the pain, it made her jump. “Shoot,” she mumbled as she moved over to the sink and washed the blood off her finger, cursing her lack of common sense. Her mind was just so wrapped up in the Dragon Scroll. |

Ria had been sitting down by a nearby lake by herself with no one else around. She wondered if she would see anyone anytime soon. She looked at her marking on her shoulder trying to figure out what it ment, but of coruse she had no idea once so ever. "I wonder what this mark is? Because I really don't know..." she says to herself then looks to the sky. Her mind wandered and thought if anyone else had a similar mark like hers, but she was probably wrong. |

Other side of the island. Fang opened his eyes. He wasn’t in the hospital. He wasn’t at home. He wasn’t in school. He looked around and saw nothing but the ominous whispering of people he recognises. They were talking over each other; he couldn’t understand. He tried to get up, but he couldn’t move, and he just realized that he could not see, or rather all he saw was an eternal darkness. He tried to speak, to call out to someone but nothing came out, not even a sound. Or maybe there was sound, and he had been deaf, he didn’t know so he kept trying. He could move his mouth as he ‘yelled’ the name of his sister, yelled for help but it was pointless. His heartbeat increased as he felt a presence watching over him. He couldn’t see, he couldn’t move he was helpless and whatever it was, it grabbed his mouth and held it open as he felt… something enter. He couldn’t breathe and gasped for air. His mouth closed on its own and there they appeared. 12 dark figures wearing dark hooded cloaks that cover their faces surrounded Fang. Before he realized anything else, he started to feel an intense pain deep within his core as his body was able to move. He clutched his chest and fell on his knees. The pain pulsated all throughout his body and he could feel his skin being ripped apart. He screamed in agony as his clothes were shredded from his being, and blood covered him instead. The hooded figure began to chant as Fang clutched his head; visions of his friends and family being brutally butchered by several assailants. What was he witnessing? The future? How was it possible that he felt the liquid splash against his face with each vision? This made no sense. He wanted to wake up. This was a nightmare! He wanted to wake up! He screamed. His eyes opened once more as he awoke in a cold sweat; he was relieved. It truly was a nightmare. He was about to rub his forehead when he noticed he was tied down. He looked around to get his bearings. He was in a hospital room, but he was handcuffed to the bed post. He was tied down. He tried to break free, but it was to no avail. What happened? He remembers being knocked out by an intense pain, but then why was he tied down? The door to his room opened and in walked in the last person he expected to see; the mayor of his village. He was a middle aged man, bald, thick eyebrows, a round body and he wore a rather nice looking suit. He was accompanied with two other men, younger, bigger and with more hair on their noggin. Fang held his head low, not daring to speak out of respect. He was the mayor of the village and had done plenty to aid the village’s growth. He was also very stern and into old folks tales, which is one of his bigger flaws. “Fang Kuang Hui, you bear the mark” He said with a serious tone. One of the men approached Fang’s bed and took the bed’s control making him sit up to face the mayor. The young lad looked up confused, and the mayor looked at the other man who walked over to Fang, took out a small mirror and showed it at the young man. Fang’s eyes widened, his concealer had been smudged, but then something else caught his eye. On his chest, there was an odd mark. The mark wasn’t there this morning. He remained quiet. He knew what it meant; he knew the legends of the dastardly dragons. All those who are infected with their mark have to be exiled to protect the village and its inhabitants. “You understand what this means, don’t you?” Fang nodded as he looked away from the mirror. He was calm about the whole situation. He knew he’ll have to leave this village and journey to where all the other exiled have been sent. He knew he won’t be allowed to ever see his friends and family again, but he wasn’t too sad about it. It felt right. The nightmare was probably a warning of what would’ve happened had it not been found out. The Mayor spoke, but Fang’s mind was wandering… He was explained that after his discharge he would be allowed to go home and pack up his things and then he’ll be escorted out of the village and be directed to the new village, where his destiny awaited. He was allowed a final goodbye to his friends and family, but he refused it. The sooner he left, the safer they’ll be, right? |

King of Wackatopia: "I'll guarantee your safety, give you meaning, give you knowledge and something to believe in for the low cost of your personal freedom." Fang: "Look at you, you're gorgeous, you're beautiful, and when i look into your beautiful eyes all I see is this magnificent elegant creature, full of grace, full of strength.

Ria had no idea what she was going to do now so she got up and started walking in the direction of the ocean. It took her a few minutes, but she got there, a faint smile crept across her face. She always did enjoy hearing the ocean waves hit shore and the sound of birds. She even liked the feel of sand inbetween her toes. She walks onto the sand and looks to the sky... So blue... So clear... It was nice in her opinion. She did remember when she got the mark. It was back in her village. When she looked into the mirror, her eyes had widened at the sight of the mark. To her, it looked like the symbol of a mix of a dragon and a dog or a wolf. She couldn't tell though... When her friends and family saw this... They became heart broken because they knew they would have to send her away to another area which is where she currently is now. She wished she never left, but she didn't have any choice... Her mother also knew what this marking met, but she never said anything. All she said was, "You are the choosen." Of corse she had no idea what she met by "The Choosen" she just didn't know... |

Leaving Xiao to look over the 'Dragon Scroll', Jin followed their leader inside to search for food. He too was hungry and would happily help prepare food if necessary. Without saying anything in reply to Yueliang or Ying, Jin entered the kitchen and started grabbing supplies for dinner that might come in handy. He then handed Ying the things and she started cutting things up for food. When he saw nothing else he could do, Jin went towards the living room of their nice little house and grabbed a book off a shelf. This was the fifth time reading the book, but what else could he do? It's not like books were plentiful out here in the exile side of the island. On occasion he would find a stray book and read it, only to be disappointed that the second half of the book was missing. He would then finish the book in his own head and write it down wherever he could. Taking the book into the kitchen, Jin sat on the floor and started reading. He could hear as the knife slid through the vegetables then slammed on the wooden chopping block that was put down so the knife wouldn't damage any of the counter top. Half way through a paragraph, Jin suddenly heard an "Ow" come from Ying who was chopping vegetables and he looked up to see her nurturing her now bleeding finger. She then rushed to the sink and Jin had to roll out of the way so she wouldn't step on him in her haste to get to the sink. Jin then jumped up and looked over to Yueliang wondering if he would come to their 'mother's' rescue. Often Jin had heard Xiao speak about the members in terms of family members. Yueliang was their father where as Ying was their mother. Both took great care of the outcasts as well as the greater good of the house. Jin felt like the nerdy step child who got in the way too often. "Are you okay?" he asked as he watched the water pour over the injured finger as blood washed away down the drain of the sink. ..............Meanwhile............ Xiao pouted slightly when the scroll was taken away from her. She really hated when Yueliang acted like he was SO superior to her and took things away from her. It was obvious that he was being so unfair by taking it away. The others had been able to look over the scroll for so long, and she'd only been given a few seconds. With a bit of a hiss Xiao realized how much she WAS like the tiger Zodiac she was supposed to be. Looking down at the mark on her wrist, Xiao followed it with her unmarked hand and traced the curves of her mark. She'd always hated the mark, but right now...in this light and after getting some knowledge...she felt like it was beautiful. Turning to the other women who now had the scroll again, Xiao shifted from one leg to the other and started fidgeting at a stray string on her pants. "So...what does this all mean? That...we aren't a danger to our people like they thought? Does this mean we can go home?" She hadn't read everything fully, and hadn't gotten the main message of the scroll. All she saw was that there were evils of her kind, as well as goods. They were all good...and she felt like they were wrongly cast aside. There had been so much pain when she was thrown out of her village...everyone went through pain, others just went through more pain than others. Take Jin for example. Jin lost most of his memories when he was cast away from his home. Jin would never admit it, but Xiao could tell that he was upset for this and wished he'd never received such a mark on his hand. |

Ying felt so stupid. Yes, it was so very smart to use a sharp knife while distracted... since when? And since when had Jin been there?! Gosh, she was just so out of it. She rolled her eyes, mostly to herself, as she almost stomped all over Jin to get to the sink. Well, she didn't exactly want blood dripping all over. That would have been a mess. With a sigh, she watched her finger as the water ran over it and shrugged when Jin asked her if she was alright. She was apparently far from it. "Eh, it's just a papercut... well, not exactly but it should be fine," Ying admitted as she turned the water off and wrapped her finger in a small paper towel. This whole scroll business had her completely stuck inside her head, too much so. But, how could she help herself? It was the biggest mystery and it had just plopped itself into their laps! Instead of making up stories on a whim and out of boredom and an eager mind, she was practically part of one. And, of course, to keep herself from going "Mine! Mine!" towards the entire group and huddling over the scroll she had resigned herself to kitchen duty. It was the only way to contain herself when her entire body was buzzing with an eager curiosity. Ying fussed with the cabinets, scrummaging around until she found the bandages and placed one on her finger. She placed the first aide back and wiggled her finger around in the bandage before turning her attention to Jin. "Did you get a look at the scroll?" She asked. It hadn't seemed long before he'd come along to assist her with dinner. Then again, she hadn't been paying much attention. Where did she think the vegetables that she was chopping came from? Out of thin air? Really, her fantasies were getting to her. She placed her mind back on dinner and finished chopping up the last of the vegetables and heated up the pan atop the stove. After it became hot, she poured a bit of soy sauce and watched it simmer for a while before tossing the mix of vegetables in. Stir fry for dinner. Now where were those noodles... |

Jin watched silently, and slightly amused, while Ying took care of her wound. He couldn't tell how bad it was, but the finger was still attached and there didn't seem to be too much blood, so it couldn't be too horribly bad. She then found a bandage and wrapped her finger so it wouldn't be bleeding all over their dinner. Honestly, he never was one to eat meat, so the thought of human blood in his veggies sounded worse than any meat he refused to eat. Ying then brought his thoughts away of bloody carrots and to the scroll. Shaking his head, Jin looked out a window towards the others who were huddled around the scroll. "I figured I'd wait." he honestly didn't want to be pounced by an angry girl who wanted to continue to read the scroll. Already it seemed like everyone was drawn in and wanted to read the scroll as many times as they could to memorize everything on it. "I heard it explains our marks though?" He then looked down at his palm, his hair falling into his face, covering his eyes who were glazing over slightly from absent memories. He knew that he had been hurt horribly for this mark. The physical marks were long gone, but the fact that all he could remember was a woman who he loved throwing him over the edge of a water fall wasn't the most pleasant memory in the world. Emotional scars seemed to hurt far more than physical scars. This he's learned from sparring with Xiao. Looking at the vegetables that were now sizzling in a pan of soy sauce. Ying then looked around for something and Jin skillfully went up to her, grabbed the pan and started to twist his wrist so he could shift the vegetables so that any particular veggies wouldn't get more cooked than the others. "Get what you're looking for..." He sure was talkative this evening. Already he'd spoken twice as much as he normally did, but as far as a normal person went, this was half as much as others spoke. |

Ria desided to walk along the shore of the beach because there was nothing better to do. She wondered if she would find anyone on this island, but she wasn't very sure about it. While walking, she saw something off in the distance wich looked like people. So she walks over there and stops. Then walks to the water letting my feet get wet. She hoped at least one person would notice her... |

Ying nodded slowly at Jin's reply, figuring it was pretty obvious before she'd even asked. He wasn't one to hog up the spotlight or the scroll. She could understand it, of course, but she couldn't agree out of her own eagerness. She was seeing more and more how she corresponded with her zodiac. It was nuts. She unconciously touched her left temple, where her character lay as a birthmark and reminder to her. At least now it had a whole lot more meaning than what she'd anticipated. As a child, Ying had always imagined some impossible epic tale that would go along with her mark. It was slightly similar to what was revealed in the scroll, though of course since she was Ying, it was with a twist. She remembered all her drawings and doodles of dragons and marks. She wasn't the greatest artist, though she'd always thought that if she could imagine it in her head why couldn't she draw it? It didn't really translate well... "Yeah, it does. Though it's more than that. It reveals centuries worth of history and prophecies about the ancient dragons of this island. It's absolutely unreal... like some classic tale that escaped the world's knowledge. Ridiculous," Ying remarked, mostly to herself as she laughed lightly. Part of her brain, the rational part, wanted to reason that it could have been some jerk teen from the other side of the island playing a prank but that scroll didn't look like a prank. It looked real and ancient. She squirmed at the thought of anyone breathing too hard on it, though she knew it most definitely wasn't that fragile. Ying looked through the cabinets again, finding the noodles quickly and breaking open the package as she watched Jin cook the vegetables. "I wish I could figure it all out but I didn't get the time," Ying grumbled. She couldn't help herself, though she knew it was selfish... if only slightly. Oh, it was fully selfish. She placed the noodles in the pan, putting some spices into the mix but otherwise letting Jin handle it as she leaned against the counter and pinched the bandaide on her finger absentmindedly. |

Ria had heard about this dragon scroll before, but she never actually saw the real thing. She wished to see it, but she wouldn't of know where to find Is in the first place anyhow. She looked at her shoulder where her marking was then back at the ocean seeing the calm peaceful waves hit shore. |
