Fleur sighed as she sat alone on a velvet couch. She had a book on her lap, but didn't feel like reading it. She looked around her. Everything was elegant and had a nice Victorian style...but there was a little extra to the place. Dried blood stains were on the floral wallpaper, weapons and traps were hanging on the wall, waiting to be used. This was comfort to Fleur. Fleur picked up a dart and threw it at the picture of the doll maker...her doll maker. "Wretched fool..." She muttered. Picking up a scythe, she sliced the picture with a scowl. She placed the weapon back and sat back in her chair. Even though the old man was dead...Fleur still hated him from the bottom of her soul.

Not far from the room in which Fleur was relaxing was another room--spacious and rather cluttered. A punching bag hung from the ceiling at one corner, and several weights, some laid on a rack, others simply left on the floor, were to either side of the punching bag. On the other side, however, in direct contrast it seemed, was a number of bookcases; and towards the back of the room, a bed, with nightstands on either side, and a desk near it.

And, sprawled on a leather couch, his hands behind his head, his eyes closed as if in sleep, was Victor Britte, the younger of the Britte brothers. Even in this state of quiet relaxation, his face, tight and proud, held a quality of anger to it, subtle but noticeable. His legs, clad in dark jeans, were crossed, and he wore only a white tank-top above, displaying the taut muscles of his arms and abdomen; a black jacket hung on the wall above the couch.

Victor, however, was not asleep; his eyes slowly opened, revealing their sharp, grey pupils. Picking himself up from the couch, he felt little but boredom. When he was not in the mood for reading or beating the crap out of a punching bag, there wasn't much for Victor to do--unless Fleur needed something from him. Brushing the long tendrils of black hair from his pale face and sighing, he almost found himself hoping that she would have some problem for him to deal with--preferably something he could vent his ceaseless irritation into.

Fleur was getting extremely bored. She picked up the book, and was about to throw it at the picture, but stopped. She just remembered that she borrowed that book from Victor. She sighed and went to Victor's room. Without saying a a word, she put the book back into his bookshelf. Fleur turned to him and said,"You're bored too? I just wish some pathetic human would come and "play" with me." She went up to him and gently poked his cheek.

Even before Fleur entered the room, it seemed, Victor somehow felt her approach. Hastily he straightened himself up, as if preparing to meet someone of the highest authority. When she entered the room, then, his grey eyes looked on as she walked past him without a word and returned a book she had borrowed from him to one of the bookshelves before turning back to him. The place where she had poked his cold cheek seemed to burn a bit, but Victor disregarded this, instead choosing how to reply to Fleur. For this moment the constant bitterness had left his face, replaced with the smallest hints of a smile on the corners of his pale lips.

"If there is any entertainment or amusement I could provide, you need only ask," his voice, smooth and suave, masked a strong desire to please Fleur. "I am, after all, entirely yours to command..."

They'd arranged to meet at the McDonalds at midnight. They would go in, do what they had to do and get out. She had to get it, or she would be as good as dead. Torture from Britney, or death. She knew which she'd choose. It couldn't get any worse. One evening, one mistake and she regrets it from the rest of her life.
She sat at a table. Last year, her clique wouldn't have been seen here, they'd have all been round someone's house drinking, or at the posh hotel's cafe, lounging round the swimming pool. Now she couldn't set foot in either.
Looking out the window, she saw her car and the trucker's tank. It blocked her view, and waiting for the rest of them was awful. It had to be now, Britney had said. She had 72 hours, and the time was ticking. She had to give it to her on Monday, or never show her face again.
She heard the door open, the bell chiming as one of the team walked in. She breathed as sigh of relief as she realised that she wouldn't have to do this alone.

Tommy walked into the fast food service. He looked around the place looking for the others.

Why did he agree to explore a so-called haunted mansion with three people he rarely interacted with? Well, that’s not entirely true… They weren’t exactly the most popular kids in school, except for Britney though “notoriety” would be a proper term. Tommy overheard their little plan, and proposed to come along. He had nothing better to do a Friday night, and he was going to come anyways.

Why? Because he was sick and tired of overhearing the same brain-dead stories about people mysteriously disappearing in the mansion. He liked to listen to people, watch them interact; being a spectator but this was one channel he’d rather not hear. He did confront a few of them on the stupidity of it all, being a little downright mean about it. Heh… He’ll never live down that shame. So instead of just saying it, he’ll prove it.

He brought a camera with him, borrowed from his parents, to record their findings. He also brought a backpack full of goodies to share. If people disappeared in that mansion it had to be due to shoddy workmanship. They probably fell in holes, and couldn’t have gotten out. He whipped out the camera as he noticed Britney clone sitting alone.

“Hey there, I hope you’re ready for your close up” He said as he approached her, and sat right in front of her. “Hopefully the others didn’t chicken out on us, though if they didn’t show… A dinner and a haunted mansion, not exactly how I envisioned my first date.” He said jokingly. Honestly, that girl made him nervous. Actually, any interaction made him nervous, humour calmed him down.

Fleur let out a sigh. "There is no entertainment in this place. I don't want to hurt any of my butlers...and the picture of that wretched doll maker is almost torn up." She sat down next to him and rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm tired. I'm gonna go sleep. If any humans come, tell me so I can start the game." She muttered with a small smirk.

Allen hesitated at the door to the restaurant, wondering who would be inside to greet him. He hoped that they were all friends and not someone mean or someone he didn’t know very well. Normally he wouldn’t have agreed to go without finding out who’s going with him, but this was all on such short notice and he didn’t want to be left out. He wanted to prove that he is brave enough to enter the “cursed” mansion, and being a man of reason, he also wanted to prove the rumors about the mansion false. The rumors, at least, were about some magical force. The disappearances of the kids were undeniable, but it’s highly possible that it had nothing to do with the mansion at all. That just means that a kidnapper could be on the loose. Although that did scare him a little, the odds of running into him would be quite low.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door and looked for the spot they agreed to meet. He saw them, two kids that he knew a little but not too well.

“I hope Alex shows up,” Allen thought to himself. After building up some courage, he made his way over to them and sat down. “Hey. Looks like we’re still down one or two.”

Alex sighed some as she neared the fast-food joint, she really didn't enjoy the idea of going into an old mansion. The idea struck her as silly, and not the 'ha ha' kind either. "The things I do for friends." She joked as her fingers on her right hand started tapping against the back of her left.

Currently she was listening to music, but then again she was almost never not listening to music. The song was Eisbrecher's Bombe. Her music was almost always turned up fairly high, but only really enough for one to hear the beats of whatever song she was listening to. Shockingly even with the rather loud music she could still hear other people, though they still seem to get annoyed at her for reasons she can't imagine.
In school she ironically had a doctors note, or more exact a psychiatrist note, telling teachers she could listen to music in class. An odd thing for most students, and nearly all teachers.

She had graduated already, so she had heard about this from a friend who had called and asked her to go, which the more she thought about it the more she wishes she would learn to say 'no'.

Slowly she pushed open the door to the place and entered, noting the group at a table. "And I'm probably the last one to arrive too." She stated aloud as she started over.

Seeing everyone round the table, she looked over them. Ellie looked around at them. Opposite her, eating a ice-cream, sat Alex. Ellie had always laughed with the clique about Alex, and now she was sitting there, she realised that she'd been wrong. Alex was exceptionally weird, and they'd always said she came from a asylum. Now she was sitting opposite her, Ellie sort of understood why, as Alex's fingers were constantly twitching. She looked sweet though, like a puppy, always wanting to please. She made a mental note to be nicer to her in future.
Sitting next to Alex was Allen. She's always thought of him as a library geek, always walking round with a book in his hands. He could have been one of the cool people if he tried, as he had those good looks wasted on men. Britney had always said to Ellie about her crush on him. Ellie could see why, with his feminine appearance, he'd have been putty in the evil crone's hands.
Finally there was Tommy Ligatani. Dark and handsome, he's the class Einstein- a guy who slept at the back of the class, until he finds a topic he likes and then he suddenly becomes animated, talking about matters way out of his league. His cargo pants were stuffed, with a flare sticking out of one of the pockets and his camera round his neck. He was a pain in the ass- always a smart alec comment after anything that was anything to do with school spirit. He was so irritating, always giving stupid "if we did this we could do this" ideas whenever there was ideas for fund-raising. Ellie wished he wasn't here, but what happens happens.
"Yeah Alex, last, as per usual." Ellie's face was set into a 'I'm better than you' stare. The same stare she used to use at everyone as she walked past, knowing that it was true. Now she wasn't so sure.
"So, can we get going now then?" Ellie asked. Time was ticking. And she had to be back in plenty of time to buy a new outfit.

« Hey, hey Calm your hot pants there Ellie. We can’t simply waltz into a dangerous mansion without some sort of plan. I brought a ton of neat stuff to help us in our little quest. We’ll dismiss these silly rumours before curfew giving us ample time to celebrate with a movie afterwards. Now…”

This was one subject that had peaked Tommy’s interest. This was far more entertaining than studying for finals he’ll know he’ll pass. There was nothing really anything new or exciting apart from discrediting these whole silly rumours. He made ample research about the causes of these rumours and equipped himself adequately. He also brought lots of spare gear for his friends. Tommy was confident nothing bad was going to happen as the worst case scenario: evil murdering cult, could be beaten if they stuck together.

Tommy brought up his backpack to his knees and started taking out some stuff and talking about it.

“Alright, I got each of you a flashlight with a fresh battery inside. I mean, dark mansion… People probably wandered in and fell in a hole which brings me to this. I brought rope, its 50 feet of length, in case we fall in somewhere.”

He took out the four flashlight; three of them were black, one was pink and had a drawing of princess robot bubble gum. It was accidental on his part; only flashlight left at the store. He figured he’d let them fight over who gets the pink one. He then rummaged in his pack and took out a plastic back with surgeon mask in them.

“I also got those masks; I figured it would protect us from mould. I hear it’s hazardous if we breathe the stuff in. Oh! Check these babies out. Hard hats! I thought it would be dorky if we all wore the same standard yellow colour, so I got black, red and pink too. There’s even the little thingamabob that allows us to strap in the flash light to it. I also brought a first aid kit. You can never be too careful.”

Tommy grabbed the black hard hat and a flashlight, putting the rope and the first aid kit back in his backpack as he said: “That should be all… Hopefully I’m not forgetting anything. I have my cellphone, my camera… enough spare batteries to film the following week… We can do the introduction on our way there or once we arrive.”
King of Wackatopia: "I'll guarantee your safety, give you meaning, give you knowledge and something to believe in for the low cost of your personal freedom."

Fang: "Look at you, you're gorgeous, you're beautiful, and when i look into your beautiful eyes all I see is this magnificent elegant creature, full of grace, full of strength. You're mesmerizing. You're intoxicating. I want you near me. I want to indulge you."

"Oh-Em-Ef-Ge. You really expect there to be this evil mansion where there are spooky monstors dont you? Well face facts: The only reason why people get lost is because they want to. Lets get in, get out ASAP. I have stuff to do."
Ellie stared at Tommy. Now she remembered why she disliked people like him. Prepared for the worst, and always expecting it.
"Are you finished with you inventory now? Cos the longer we wait, the darker it gets and the more time we have to spend together". Ellie's face was scowling, her 'I don't like you, you don't like me, but we have to work together' look now.

Alex slowly reached over and took a one of the black flashlights and looked it over. "Yes its always best to be prepared." She stated with a light smile. She moved as if to take the hard hat, but then stopped, her hand running over her headphones. "I don't think I'll need that." She stated, the hard hat would require her to remove the headphones, and she wasn't going to do that.

Her attention shifted slowly over the group. Allen was the one that called her requesting she come.
There was also one of the more popular students, at least popular when she was in school; to be honest Alex didn't care at all about 'popularity' or 'cliques' if you were nice or interesting she saw you as a friend, otherwise you were just another zombie in the infection that is school.
Then there was another, she didn't fully recognize him, though to be fair she wouldn't recognize many people. However the other had come prepared which was nice.

Ellie seemed to be getting impatient, something that confused Alex, was there someplace else she wished to be. Well to be fair Alex didn't wish to be here either. "Rush into an old house, haunted or not, and you will come out injured. It is always better to check what all you have on hand, then to get there and find out that an item you needed was either left behind or not requested."

Alex' hands slowly, hesitantly moved toward the camera. As she took it she proceeded to look it over, checking make, model, film, battery life. Eventually she turned the camera on and started checking out all the features that it provided. She enjoyed video cameras, well anything with a lot of features can distract her fairly easily, but cameras are the best as you can see what the features do immediately.

"Spooky and possibly haunted mansion, take one." She stated with a laugh as she hit record, "Though to be fair we can change that name before the documentary comes out." A light grin came from her as she aimed the camera around the group, her fingers were currently tapping rhythmically against the camera itself.

Allen was glad that Tommy had thought ahead so well. He had brought his own miniature flashlight, but took Tommy’s flashlight anyways because he had room to spare in his pockets and Tommy didn’t. He stuffed the mask in his pocket as well and held the red helmet out in front of him. He’d put it on after surveying the damage to the mansion.

“Thanks,” he said. He was still shy around people he didn’t know very well, but felt like he should say something anyways to be nice. “I’m ready to go if you guys are.”

In all honesty, he didn’t usually stay up this late and wanted to get home in time to get some sleep. After all, a healthy brain needs an adequate amount of rest to function, and he had an important test tomorrow morning for his anatomy and physiology class. He was doing so well that he could miss it and still pass, but that would ruin his straight A’s for sure.

« Oh Ellie, are you hitting on me? Cause that scowl of yours is really turning me on” Tommy said teasingly with a wink. It was a gift he had, he knew how to get under people’s skin, and the more they reacted the more fun he got out of it. This Britney clone was being extremely bitchy about this whole thing which would only give Tommy incentive to keep doing it, it also calmed him down. He was ready for the most part as he didn’t really tell anyone that he brought a dagger and that it was holstered in his back pocket.

He didn’t seem to flinch as Alex took Tommy’s camera. “It’s a beauty isn’t it? I could tell you what brand name it is, and its full specs but it’s not really mine. Say, do you want to film our little visit? But be warned, being the camera person means you’ll be at the front; nobody wants to see our backs… well maybe Ellie’s back and also you’ll have to narrate.” He chuckled a bit as he got up from the table. “You’re welcome Allen.”

“Well, let’s go. I believe Ellie here has volunteered to drive us there, now remember the rules kids; don’t split from the group, don’t talk to strange ghosts, and most importantly don’t mock their fashion wear. I’m looking at you Ellie, okay? Good. Alright let’s Go!”

"Shut your mouth Tommy, or your riding in the boot. In pieces. Very small pieces". She wasn't that good at comebacks when she wasn't backed up by a crowd of giggling friends .They walked out to her lovely car. Tommy had muddy boots and Alex wasn't all that clean. She looked at the lovely pale cream leather and sighed. 'Cream and mud. Yay' She thought as she opened the door and they all climbed inside. Her sat-nav bleeped and they were on their way. 'Finally this might all get finished this year' she thought as she drove off with the sun overhead. 'At least its not clichéd' she thought, though how any group as mismatched as this could be, she had no idea.

Alexstrasza continued filming everyone as they left the fast food joint and entered the car. Once in the car she sat up front, with the word of 'I got the camera and I'm not filming the back of everyone's head.'

During the ride she filmed the road, the driver, which was Ellie as it was her car, the two in the back, herself, and as they drove closer to the mansion she filmed that too.

Once the car was parked Alex hopped out and moved up to the gate, "Were going to be entering that mansion, ghosts had better beware else their soul gets caught on film for all eternity."

Fleur left Victor's room and went to look out the window. She saw humans! "Ah! Finally! People to play with." Fleur let out an evil giggle and went to prepare the torturous traps.

They got out the car. Alex ran in front, videoing everyone. "She's so annoying, even more than Tommy" Ellie thought. The door was shut and locked. It was massive and didn't look like it had been opened in centuries. It was brown and rusted.
"Lets go round the side. There's probably a servants door." Ellie whispered. They walked round the side, Alex leading the way. Ellie paused, and looked up at the windows. She had a feeling someone was watching her. She saw a shadow at one window for a second, but then she shook her head and followed the rest of them round the corner.

Marius had been enjoying a book in his room. Which was about when he heard the car pull up. He sighed to himself. Fleur's quick steps came charging out of his brother's room to the window. And then they disappeared. He assumed she went to get her traps set for her "game".

How stupid could people be? Didn't they hear the rumors. There were plenty of them about this place floating around. Marius could not fathom how stupid people were. He opened the door to his room tossed the book onto the bed and went to the window that Fleur had vacated.

Four people were sneaking around the side of the house. "Teenagers most likely," Marius said to himself, "Only teenagers are stupid enough to come here,"

Always teenagers. Apparently the influx of hormones made them think they were invincible. Or made them think they were smarter than they were. He dropped the curtain turning his back on the window. Well, Fleur would be happy at least.

After setting up the traps, she went to Marcus's room and hugged him tightly. She exclaimed with childish happiness,"Idiot teenagers are here! Now I have something to do! Would you help me?" A big, pleading smile was on her flawless face.

Tommy whistled as he admired the mansion. It was very scary-looking, and the way the moon floated directly behind the building added a mystical beauty to it. Tommy was excited. This was going to be grand. He didn’t know what was going to wait for them. An evil cult? A building torn with time surrounded by infrastructural defects that would literally turn it into a death trap? Hungry feral hobos? Or simply empty halls, as they discredit the silly rumours and force the village to move to better and brighter things; like demolishing the building and building a paintball arena.

“Alright gang, we’re here. Lights” He pointed at the moon with his index finger as he grinned. “Check!” His finger then pointed toward Alex as she still held on to the camera. “Camera is good to go.” He clenched his fist as he brought it up in front of him. “Great! Follow my lead. I’ll head first; make sure you hold the camcorder steady. We’ll start with the ground floor, and then make our way down if there’s a basement. We'll finish with the upstairs, and then check out the garden, tour the perimeter for some atmospheric footage, and we’ll be done before curfew. Any questions before we barge through the front door? No? Good!” He walked toward the mansion with a steady pace. He wasn’t going to be subtle about it. He was heading directly for the front door. Go around? The place is abandoned; this is legally nobody’s home. The only thing keeping the mansion safe were the strange occurrences and people disappearing.

Is he possible to badly interpret fear? To have as natural instinct to rush forward toward the cause and drastically try to destroy it, rather than keeping away? Tommy’s heart was pounding steadily as he approached the mansion’s front doors, and it was unnerving. It was just a building, just a building, everything he heard were just silly rumours, plus he had to look cool in front of Ellie and Alex. He didn’t hesitate, as soon as his hands came in contact with the door knob he flung the doors open.

While everyone climbed out of the car Alex had turned the camera on herself and had begun filming herself. "Hi. My name is Alexstrasza Cyen, I will be the cameraman...well woman as these and below clearly states." As she said 'these' she moved the camera some to show her breasts before moving it back. "I am currently listening to music thus my headphones. We are entering the mansion I showed during the car ride and talked about earlier. If anyone viewing this hates old mansions, possible ghosts, discovery, my voice, or any of the cast..." She turned the camera to show the others before turning it back to her again, "Please leave the viewing area now. Thank you and I hope you have some popcorn cause this could be boring or interesting. I hopeing interesting."

As she finished she turned the camera back and noticed that Tommy and Ellie were having two different ideas. Ellie not wanting to go through the gate, possibly because of the rust. and Tommy just wanting to go through the front door. Alex sighed some before a debate started and moved over to the gate and kicked as hard as she could. The gate flew open with a loud high pitched metal squeal. "Oh, look the gates open, we should just go inside as per the actual plan."

She backed up some so Tommy could lead the way, as he was bound to do anyway. She just starting to film the mansion more.

Ellie "Hmphed" as Alex kicked open the gate. It was a deserted old mansion, but there was no need to ruin it. It was beautiful and rustic. Its just the place that Ellie would love to live in when she was older. Brighten up the gate, add some roving dog patrols and high intensity flash lights. And move it to LA, of course. The door didn't creak as Tommy opened it. "That's weird" Ellie thought. Old deserted houses should creak. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end as she walked through the door. This house seemed weird. A old house, should creak. It wasn't too quiet, just no noises from the house. The only noise that wasn't normal was the narration from Alex and something else. A noise like wood rubbing against wood. Ellie shook it from her, and followed the big headed moron in front. His bulshy, organised attitude got under her skin and he knew it. He looked at her again, and smiled. Ellie smirked just as Alex turned the camera on her. Ellie's smirk turned to a sweet smile without a thought, as she stumbled over a thin, invisible trip wire.

Victor watched as Fleur left the room--perhaps to go see his elder brother. He rolled his head back around his shoulders, cracking his neck with a grunt before walking towards the bookcases, sliding his fingers down the necks of the books thoughtfully. He had just moved his hand to pull one of the books out when he heard--first, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway, and then, a moment later, the sound of the gate being rather...energetically opened.

"There goes my book time, then," Victor muttered. He swept around, walking towards the door of his room, grabbing the jacket and slipping it onto his lithe, muscular body as he did so. Dumb kids--apparently they've never heard of subtlety. Then again, kids these days never seemed to grasp one obvious little fact of life--you never go up to the old, creepy, 'abandoned' house at the top of the hill, at night. It's just never a good idea--as these youngsters were about to learn.
