With hair aflame, she shall end your reign

It is the 13th century and Europe is under the control of a tyrant who has brought prosperity to their kingdom but not without costs. He is merciless and will slaughter anyone who defies him. This strong king, though, is brought to his knees when a prophet utters those words. He becomes consumed with worry and paranoia, and sends his army to find the red head who is to kill him and restore order to his land.

Years go by, the prophet regretting his words and the king spiraling farther into paranoia as the genocide of any redheads ensues, when everything changes. One female babe is born into a noble family and at first all is well until they see the hair on her head. She is a redhead, something that will end her life. Her parents rush to save their child by fleeing the kingdom but they are caught by the king’s army in a village near the forest and their temporary residency is burned down. Thinking their job is done, the army continues their mission but what they don’t know to this day is that the child was hidden in the woods before the attack and taken by a wolf, who has then raised the child as her cub after its own kin dies from being too frail.

With the wild on her side, she continues to hide

17 years later and the king begins to feel comfortable in his hold over the land, until the prophet yet again arises with a new prophecy. She still lives. The hunt becomes more intense and he sends his own son to lead the party. This time, every square inch shall be searched for the traitor, a traitor who is very well hidden in the forests of his kingdom.

Name Rok Mokaer (pronounced "ROKE moe-CARE")

Gender Male

Title Advisor

What do you think? Oh, so very against! Rok wishes to see the king fall so he can make a move for power himself. Helping the redhead succeed in carrying out the king’s downfall seems to be the easiest way to do this. Particularly if he can keep anyone from thinking him a part of this. And it’s just perfect that the Prince has been sent to hunt the girl. So many “accidents” can befall one while out on the open road…

Skill Rok has a series of powers that he uses, some of which more frequently than others. All of them originate from his right eye, which is red and has a number (1-6 depending on the power he is using) visible in it.

1 – Guise of Hell. While his eye is set on level 1, he is able to conjure illusions to torment his foe. Under normal circumstances the illusions are harmless if the foe recognizes them for what they are; however, if he exerts himself, he can use the illusions as physical weapons regardless of his opponent’s knowledge of their nature.

2 – Guise of Hungry Ghosts. While his eye is set on level 2, he is able to use another person’s powers should he be possessing them.

3 – Guise of Beasts. While his eye is set on level 3, he is able to summon and control dangerous animals. He can only control one animal at a time, though.

4 – Guise of Asura. While his eye is set on level 4, his hand-to-hand combat skills are greatly increased; however, it takes a huge toll on his body when he uses it.

5 – Guise of Humans. While his eye is set on level 5, his strength is greatly increased; however it takes a huge toll on his body the longer he uses it.

6 – Guise of Heaven. While his eye is set on level 6, he can control others; however, it only works on those who are in a state of weakness (emotional trauma, etc) and it ends without Rok’s doing if someone tells them what they near to hear to come out of that state of weakness. The lesser form of this is a form of mind control, obviously. While under his control, the person looks no different. If he possesses someone using this, their right eye turns red like his and they remain under his control until he releases them. Complete possession happens if he cuts them with a special weapon, though he cannot exceed the limits of their body while controlling it. Also while he uses this, his own body is comatose and vulnerable, though he can control more than one person in this manner.

Easy way to keep him from using his powers would be to keep his eye closed. He cannot use any of these powers when his eye is closed, and his combat prowess without using his powers is actually quite sad in its feebleness.

Appearance Rok has short black hair and heterochromatic eyes. His left eye is blue and his right is red. The red eye has a number visible in it if you look carefully, and the number pertains to which power he is using at present. If he is using none, then usually the number 1 is visible as it is his default. He is tall and thin with somewhat pale skin, and he prefers to wear fancy clothing in dark colors, though they frequently have some kind of flowery motif to them. He’s quite attractive, appearing to be in his twenties. Despite his youth, he is still seen as a talented advisor to the king.

Background Rok was born into a noble family from one of the more remote areas of the kingdom. When he was a child, his parents were accosted and murdered by bandits while on the way to the castle for a ball being held by the royal family. Rok lost his eye in the attack, and he barely escaped with his life. He fled as far as he could before collapsing, bordering on death. He doesn’t remember what happened, but he awoke some hours later. He was still badly wounded, but he was alive. And he had a right eye again. At first he thought it had been a nightmare that his parents had been murdered, but when he returned to the scene of the crime, he saw that it was no dream. But then what had happened to him? He still has no idea.

His loss hardened him, and he began experimenting with the numbers that he could sequence through his right eye. He stayed away from society for several years while he mastered his powers, wanting to be strong enough to avoid his parents’ fates and get revenge for their death. That will to be avenged drove him to push himself to the limits of his powers, but by the time he was fifteen, he was shockingly powerful. He went in search of any bandits he could find, slaughtering them all when he found them. His hunting of these bandits reached the local law enforcement, and Rok was taken before the king to receive a special honor.

Once his identity was revealed as the noble everyone had thought had been killed along with his parents, Rok started living in the castle. His intellect drew him closer and closer to the king, and Rok began to thirst for the power of the throne. He wanted to put an end to crime. An end to the killing of innocent people. The end to suffering. And he could do it. If he could become king. Well, the end justifies the means. He saw to the unfortunate accident that claimed the life of the king’s current advisor, and he took the man’s place by the king’s side. He has been there ever since, cultivating his plan to take the throne once the prophecy is carried out and the king falls.

Personality Rok has two faces. In public and when with the king, he is a charismatic young man with a heart of gold and a fierce loyalty to the king and his reign. He flirts with the ladies of the court, is sociable and friendly toward the men, and generally acts like he has a heart of gold. When alone, in danger, or among those he wishes to kill or control, he shows a much darker side. He is heartless, merciless, and ruthless. He seems to enjoy killing and causing pain to those who he thinks deserves it, a sadistic side that surfaced when he butchered those bandits. One could easily consider him a hypocritical sociopath. He rationalizes to himself that he’s taking all of these steps in order to move toward the greater good, but his actions are deplorable enough for anyone to label him as a psychopathic murderer. The lack of morality of his actions completely escapes him, however. He refuses to see what he’s doing as wrong. Simply necessary for him to achieve his goals.

Anything Else He uses a strange silver dagger as a weapon. If he cuts someone with this weapon, he can possess them as per the greater form of his sixth power.

Name Skia Kenward

Gender Female

Title Prophesized Redhead

What do you think? N/A

Skill Shape shifting

Appearance Skia has wild copper hair that is wavy and usually contains leaves or twigs in it. Her eyes are slanted, almost like that of a wolf, and moss green. She has a few freckles on her face and a natural tan. Her face is defined and her cheekbones stand out well, another promanent feature being her dark lips. Skia has a medium build and in human form isn't clothed at all but her hair censors most of her body. She has a few faint scars from fights with other wolves as well as a birthmark on her hip in the shape of a disfigured star.

In wolf form, Skia maintains her copper color and moss green eyes. The only difference is that her hair is short and smooth.

Background Skia was born into a noble family, who upon seeing her copper red hair fled to escape the wrath of a paranoid king. With haste, they made their way closer to the Labyrinth, in hopes that it would be the one place no one would search for her. They did this knowing they risked their lives.

On the night before venturing into Labyrinth, her parents hid her snugly under the tangled and exposed roots of a tree on the outskirts of the forest before taking rest in an abandoned shack, hoping that the army which had been sent to find them would burn down where they slept and be tricked into thinking they'd killed their child. Instead, the mother and father perished while the young child slept in the comfort of nature.

A group of wolves were making their way through those parts, when a distressed female wolf heard the sound of Skia's cries. After having lost her own kin, the wolf found and took Skia into the group of wolves, raising it as her own.

After a few years, Skia began shifting. The day began as any other except Skia took an interest in a bird that was nearby, just wondering what it would be like to be one, and almost instantly she was flying to a nearby branch. It came as a shock to her and to her wolf. Over the years, Skia has grown accustomed to her shapeshifting and stays in wolf form to keep up with her small clan, though on occasion she can be seen in human form when she bathes or wants to explore the trees.

Personality She's wild with shifty eyes that always try to take in everything. Skia's naturally cautious and curious, quiet, determined, and eager to learn. She loves a challenge (that explains the fights) and enjoys climbing trees to get a better look. She runs on imagination and creation, using her hands to make things from twigs and leaves. Though she is human, she does act like a wolf at times.

Anything Else She speaks no english and has never seen another human being.

Name King Edward III

Gender Male

Title Zee King!

What do you think?
Honestly, I want this redhead to decorate my lovely sword, her burning demise painted and placed in my halls while her ashes are kept within the castle to serve as a reminder to future generation: “Our greatness transcends the hands of fate”.

Skill

Aurific Intimidation: The King has a permanent dark aura that covers his entire body. It makes him look bigger and more menacing, the common folk don’t even dare look up to him out of fear, and the more anger he feels the bigger his aura gets.

Royal Training: The King knows the art of swordplay, how to shoot a bow, how to wield a Halberd and on how to ride horses with great efficiency. His body is well-trained and constantly on the move, and his mind is clustered by his emotions. He’s an exceptional fighter, and a charismatic leader, such is expected of a King.

Appearance
The king is still healthy even if his hair and beard has already turned silver. With the current state of affairs, the king refuses to come out of his chambers without wearing his golden royal armour, along with his jewel filled crown and the long beautiful red velvet cap with exotic fur lining. The royal seal is painted elegantly on his torso.

He always holds a variety of weapon on his body; a long sword strapped to his right side and two daggers strapped to his lower back. There is also a big holster strapped to his back for a two-handed sword.

Each weapon has a name and a part of his family’s history. The Long sword belonged to his great-grandfather and was used to behead the biggest clan leader of the Ireland isles. The two daggers belonged to his father and uncle, both twins, and kept in contrasting colors; one was golden while the other black. The great sword on his back belonged to the first of his family. It is rumoured that the sword by itself is worth an eighth of the kingdom’s entire wealth.

He stands at 6’0 and weighs very close to 200 pounds in his birthday suit.

Background
He was the seventh child. If fate was to be listened to, then his role in the family would’ve been either overseer of a small patch of land, or a General in the King’s army. He started so far away from the throne; it wasn’t even a viable option. He used to have such a pure heart. He was always obeying his peers and his older siblings and never spoke up against his parents. He wasn’t too clever, but he was very emotional. The young boy had no control over his emotions, and the trait followed him way beyond his teen years. To remedy with the situation, he was forced to follow fierce regimental military training.

His older brothers had some training to do, but nothing compared to how the youngest had to endure. He was considered the weakest link, and the King was going to strengthen that as much as possible. The training did wonders for his body, and his emotions seemed to only intensify. His anger tantrums could last long hours, his infatuations with the opposite gender gave him courage that most men could only acquire through alcohol and his affection couldn’t be scaled. His confidence, especially, reached a level that arrogance wasn’t enough a word to describe it.

He truly thought himself invincible and in the right. He thought his family should get rid of the so-called council and rule with an iron fist. He loved his military training. He loved being part of something grand; he loved knowing that he was irreplaceable. If he was able to find joy in complete obedience, then the people would too. If the people were too overworked to worry about their selfish desires, then there would be great prosperity. He often saw it, people making the ‘wrong’ choice, choosing the easy path, rather than the hard life threatening one.

Challenges made you stronger; he saw it, experienced it and wanted a nation filled with that idea. However, his siblings and father didn’t see eye to eye. Neither did most of the council. This infuriated Edward. He had a plan to make this country grand, to spread the English way of life across the globe. He wanted much more than his family to be… No, not his family. He wanted to be King! He wanted to be the one to start a new dynasty, and the end absolutely justified the means.

One by one, he killed them. He killed his siblings, his mother and the king. Not all at the same time, but he had help; the very members of the council that appreciated his idea, and several generals. He was very popular in the military, and easily won over them. He swayed them with a United Kingdom whose arm would clutch the planet. With each family member dying, there was a member of the council that was blamed. They were prosecuted with fake evidence and a non-existent defence; their lands, their riches taken from them and given back to the throne. It continued until Edward was finally proclaimed King.

His rule was a fierce one; in his time with the crown the country’s military might nearly tripled. He allowed women the privilege to join the army; should they get pregnant their child will belong to the state to be bred as a soldier. Dungeons were emptied as the criminals were used as cheap labour; forced to work long hours with enough food and water to survive and a place to stay. The difference between slave labour and those that choose to do the work are that slaves are given the strict necessary, while the others are given less hours, and along with the food and water are given an actual pay. Not to mention that slave labourers are forced to wear a ridiculous uniform to differentiate them, and to degrade them.

All of those who opposed the new ideology were sent to be slaves, and if they still refuse; then an educative death awaited them. Scientists were often very eager to perform test on live human subjects. Why send them to hell, when he can make hell come to them?

When the prophecy was foretold about him losing to a redhead; then he banned their existence of them in his kingdom. So many were killed; young, old, women, children. It was all for the good of the Kingdom, and to show that no such thing could stop him. After 17 years, it became systemic and even the people began to follow that ideology. Redheads were regarded as vile, disgusting sub-humans and anyone who dared give them sympathy would be in turn ‘infected’ and become one of them. It was pure propaganda, and it worked. It seemed to go well; the country seemed permanently purged of the people with red hair, until she showed up again.

She still lived and was hiding in the forests? Of course! Such beast-creatures would enjoy such filth, being unable to properly socialize and act human. The King sent his son to hunt down the ginger, and bring it back alive. Had he been younger, he would’ve gone off himself, but he had much to do. Ruling with an iron fist, meant being omnipresent on all issues presenting to him by his advisor and his council.

Personality
He’s arrogant to a point he considers himself invincible. He doesn’t believe that prophecy will come true, but he follows it just to prove it wrong. He already spit in the face of fate when he took the crown. How could a single being bring an end to his might? He’s very strict and pigheaded. He’ll often refuse someone if they don’t share the same train of thought as him; the ends justify the means. He’s also very emotional. He’s a warring King, and it shows. He’ll follow his gut instinct more than he does his head. Should something endanger his life, or the life of his beloved Queen or his only prince, then he’ll sacrifice as many lives as it takes to ensure their safety.

He enjoys intimidating people and throwing his weight around. He enjoys watching the peasants grovel at his feet, and wish him the best. He wants his people to be strong. He is disgusted by weaklings; both mentally and physically. He’s also very xenophobic and mistrusting of everything that doesn’t fit with his English ideal. He believes a nation should follow only a single ideology, and that too many different points of view will cause confrontation. He is very proud on being what he is, and he’ll destroy anyone that says otherwise.

Anything Else:

His dark aura powers manifested when he learned of the prophecy for the first time.

He has a soft spot for kittens.
King of Wackatopia: "I'll guarantee your safety, give you meaning, give you knowledge and something to believe in for the low cost of your personal freedom."

Fang: "Look at you, you're gorgeous, you're beautiful, and when i look into your beautiful eyes all I see is this magnificent elegant creature, full of grace, full of strength. You're mesmerizing. You're intoxicating. I want you near me. I want to indulge you."

@popelady: The thing about editing the prince into a princess is that it would alter the plot line of the prince venturing out with soldiers to find the threat. However, I can easily add a princess in. ^.^ Write up a profile!

Name Renélia (pronounced reh-ney-li-ah) Lunare

Gender Female

Title The Prophet

What do you think? (Optional) I personally think that killing others for your own safety is quite barbaric and unmannerly, but if the King insists than I have no right to stop him, for I still need my head to tell people my prophecies.

Skill Prophesizing: As a prophet, I have the skills to see the future. I can tell when someone's going to die and when someone's going to be born. However, my accuracy in birth isn't as strong as in death.

Talking With Ghosts: I have the ability to speak with ghosts and give their message to their loved ones that are left behind. However, I am more famous for predicting the future than talking with the spirits.

Appearance
Spoiler: click to toggle

History I had always thought I was a normal girl living in a crowded, but cheery town. However, as I grew older, I started seeing visions in my sleep. At first, I thought these were just dreams, but the visions I saw soon happened in real life. I ignored the visions, but it got worse. I started seeing things when I'm awake. Unable to hold it any longer, I revealed it to my parents. They, who were believers of the realistic way of thinking, was horrified. They kicked me out of the house and I was forced to take care of myself alone. The visions I keep getting became useful to me though. With my newfound skill, I was telling people their futures in the town square. I had earned enough money to buy my own house and live on my own. The accuracy of my visions make me the famous prophet of the town.

Personality I am usually quiet and mysterious during the first meeting, but that is not my true self. I am polite, carefree, and a person to talk to when you need advice. However, if you want me to tell you a bit of your future, I become a serious prophet. Anyone who doesn't take me seriously doesn't deserve my skills. I don't like being social to people I don't know well.

Anything Else I have a pet cat named Myst that I keep with me for company. She usually is hiding in my robe.
