The garden in the White Blossom Orphanage was always kept dark when The Mother was there. Nobody was allowed in at that time besides him, but that was an honor he’d rather not have. In all honesty, even as a grown man she still had a habit of creeping him out while the two were in that room. She always seemed so kind and gentle to everyone, but here she was even more so, almost to the point of being scary. Unfortunately, he had just received word that she wanted to see him, so he had little choice but to venture into the shadows and close the door. There was just enough light within the room to reveal a hooded figure kneeling down before him, picking some flowers and humming a tone that made his skin crawl. Luckily, she stopped when he made his way over to her.

“You called for me, Mother,” he said with a bow. She wasn’t his biological mother, nor was she a member of a clergy, but that was all she was known as. He always wondered why she would insist on being called that, but she would never say.

She clearly heard him speak just now, but she didn’t answer, instead continuing to pick flowers and arrange them into a bouquet. He was about to call out to her again, but stopped himself after he suddenly noticed someone else’s presence in the room. At first he wondered who else The Mother would have allowed in to see her, but then he realized that the person was dead. He has a special power to see the energy inside living beings, and the person had been killed within the last couple of minutes for him to still be able to see such energy remain. What had happened here?

“The children are starting to get suspicious,” the woman said as if reading his mind. “Perhaps they’re not too fond of your recent assignments.”

“My apologies,” the man said, bowing his head. The victim was in her mid twenties, but to The Mother they were all children.

“Don’t apologize. This is perfect. Anyone who shows any doubts will be eliminated, just as it should be, and then we can progress with the plan. Please inform everyone of this,” the woman ordered. Then she added with a cackle, “Watching them fight amongst themselves just might ease my boredom for a while.”

Now that he thought about it, The Mother did seem to be in an awfully good mood today. Her anticipation of the recent development was clearly shown in her voice, but the man wasn’t quite as optimistic. Watching a fight was one thing, but cleaning up afterwards was another. Unfortunately, that was one of his many jobs within the Blossom. Not only that, but now that The Mother was intentionally making herself a target he may end up having to get hurt to defend her. He wasn’t exactly pleased with that idea. He suppressed a sigh and then gave a node of approval instead.

“Yes, Mother,” he said. “It will be done at once.”

He could hear her resume her humming with even more vigor once he made it into the hallway. It sent shivers down his spine, listening to the sad tone that she had chosen to be sung so ecstatically. Then she stopped abruptly, leaving the area in eerie silence. What’s she up to now? He didn’t stick around to find out.

Reia 'Ellia' Va'Les

Reia giggled as she walked into the office building, she was stopped by a young woman at a front desk. "Are you lost young one?" The woman's voice was loud but soft, "Were about to close the doors."

"No, I'm just here to get my daddy." Reia said with another giggle. "Don't tell him, its a surprise." The little girl started skipping across the room toward the stairs.

The woman laughed some as she watched the child, she had no idea that the little girl was going to kill her boss. That was one reason that this little girl was a great assassin, who would ever expect a child to be a killer? The other reason was the child's ability, if you were able to disappear in darkness you would be a great assassin. The less light she was in, the easier she could disappear.

Reia skipped up the stairs singing to herself, the song was an odd combination of a large number of Rob Zombie songs, with her randomly switching songs never sticking to one song for more than one verse.

Once she reached just about the top floor she exited the stairwell and into the offices, the mass of cubicles. The lights were currently off, with a single light coming from a far office. Mother told her she needed to play a death game with this man. She had heard others speaking about how they are now killing 'innocent' people. In all honestly Reia didn't care, Mother lets her play games with people. So long as she can play games she will be happy.

She stopped outside the door and held her hand up. As her sleeve fell back it revealed her long nearly 6 inch plastic blade, the long handle wrapped around her arm, held tight by a strap. She smiled as she watched her hand become darker and darker before it seemed to completely blend with the darkness around her. It took a few more moments before her cloths and blades followed suit.

She looked around for a moment before grabbing a stapler from a cubicle then throwing it, the giving a loud, "Ow!" Then she quickly moved back against the wall and watched as an older, possibly fifty year old man walk out calling out to see if anyone was there. Once he left she slipped into his office and quickly shut off the light. Her darkness had fizzled some and it looked really odd to see what looked to be steam coming off her. Once the light was off she slipped behind the door and waited.

The man came back and cussed at the custodians for shutting off his light, the light snapped back on and she heard him move over to his desk and start working again. Once she was satisfied he was sitting down and nowhere near the light she pushed at the door and quickly hit the light switch. She heard him gasp some at what just happened then heard him ask who was there.
Reia giggled some then said, "And out of the darkness the Zombie did call. True pain and suffering he brought to them all. Away were the children to hide in their beds, for fear that the Devil would chop off their heads." It was from a Rob Zombie song 'Call of the Zombie' and she loved saying it as a mark for the true games start.

He yelled some for her to leave, but she could hear the fear in his voice. Reia giggled as she climbed onto the desk then pulled her sleeves up and tied them so that they wouldn't get in the way. The man was currently backed into a corner, slowly moving along the wall toward the light. "Naughty naughty mister man." She giggled before jumping from the desk and cutting his leg. The blade severed his hamstring and he gave a yell then collapsed to the ground gripping his leg.

"You were supposed to still be on your chair mister man. Now please get back in your chair or Mother will be mad." The 'game' was supposed to end with the man dead in his chair, that was how Mother told her to end it and she didn't want to make her Mother angry.
"Go to hell, brat."
Reia gave a light gasp before stabbing his hand, "That's a bad word mister man, and its not nice to call names." She heard him yell out in pain but ignored it as she walked over and dragged his chair over to him and set it up, "Now please get in your chair so we can continue. The more you disobey and break the rules the longer the game lasts."

He was still resilient but after she cut out his tongue he obeyed sobbing a strange partial muffled sobbing/gurgling noise. She giggled as she moved around him and proceeded to make seven small tactical cuts into his arteries. Each cut was just deep enough to make him bleed but not enough to outright kill him. "Right arm. Left arm. Left leg. Right leg. Stomach. Chest. Neck." She sang each place she cut, she didn't know the names of the arteries, but she did know that he would die. However just to make sure, when she reached his neck she plunged the blade deep until it came out the other side of his neck. "That was quite boring mister man. Perhaps next time I shall remember to kill you without cutting your tongue, gurgles are boring."

She giggled more as she wiped her blades on his cloths, getting the blood off her blades. "Oh wait, there wont be a next time for you. Bye mister man." He was already dead so in reality she was talking to a corpse but she didn't care.

She left the office singing the entirety of the song 'Never Gonna Stop' by Rob Zombie. Once she left the entire building she stood at the street, attempting to figure out how she was supposed to get 'home'.

For Jo it was difficult to blend into a crowd; the result of her rebelious hairstyle. Red dyed dreadlocks stood out everywhere. Her hair was her worst nemesis and having to cover it up with a hoodie made it itch in her neck. Her hoodie seemed to have a side-affect however, as this dress-code made it easier for Jo to manouevre through the crowd. People and their fashion-based insecurities and prejudices, for one time they were right to fear a teenage girl.

Her lead seemed nervous. Jo had tailed him all the way through the city squares, taking left and right to roads that seemed to go nowhere but in circles. This was getting troublesome, had the man noticed her? He didn't shoot her angsty glares, so he was either good at keeping his act or lost in the big city. Psychologic games, how Jo hated them. It took her every inch of will-power in her body not to let go of her neutral expression. When she'd be done with the cat-and-mouse chase, she'd finally be able to put her frustration to rest.

For now she had to play along. When the man went straight, she took a turn. Jo had seen these sideways at least three times before in the past forty minutes. She slipped into an alleyway at the side of a storage house and climbed up the fire stairs. If she had a rifle and a scope on her, this would have been so much easier, but she couldn't risk shooting innocents. Nor could she fail the mission's objective. He was just one of the targets.

Two stairs later, she more or less had a bird's view over the city square. It took Jo a while to find her target again in the sea of tiny people, but he seemed to have come to a standstill. The man put down the suitcase he had been carrying and casually walked on. Another psychological game; was the suitcase important, or was it a distraction? Jo genuinely hated this man. Why hadn't the Mother given her more detailed information on the who and why? Either way this had bought him time, a good that she had to make up for, but how?

Jo climbed down the stairs sideways and dropped the last part. She paced towards the man's suitcase. Then it came to her. "Sir!" She yelled loudly. The girl picked up the suitcase and began her pursuit. "Sir, you forgot your suitcase, sir!" But this trick had bought him enough time to get out of her sight. All he had to do was to pretend not to hear her. Bastard; one, Jo; zero.

"Excuse me ma'am, did you see a man in a black suit? About this high? He forgot his suitcase." The girl asked a random passerby. The woman startled at the direct approach and looked at Jo. "It looks like a real fancy suitcase, I'd hate to lose it, myself."

The woman took a moment to think, but then shook her head. "No, I don't think so." She replied. "Have you seen a man like that, Henry?"

The man beside the woman, her husband, Jo assumed, shrugged, "Well, I did see a man like that going down the second avenue, but there's a lot of business people in town, I couldn't-"

"Thanks!" Jo darted off. It was another gamble, but her gut instinct said it was better to follow this lead than to give the man more time to get a confirmation. Fortunately for Jo, her gut instinct was the right one as she found her target, with a good excuse to approach him too. "Excuse me, sir, your suitcase!" She yelled and the man turned around. Perfect.

"No, that's not mine." The man answered dryly, "If you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way now."

Jo had grown sick and tired of this game; one her opponent was much better at. "Sorry, sir." She sighed, but contrary to what her words suggested Jo wouldn't let him slip away. Literally, as she grabbed his arm.

"Would you let me-" The man didn't finish his sentence. He felt something cold poking in his side and the face he had temporarily composed to deal with the girl, turned pale and fearful.

"I'm sick of this game." She whispered. "You seem to know who I am and I know who you are. Put your cards on the table, if you value your life."

The man grinned sheepishly, but he was shaking top to bottom. The girl was stronger than he, but that didn't mean he'd have to give up. Not if he played his cards right. "You can't shoot me here." He spoke slowly, with a voice shaking as much as his body. "Not in a crowd. And you'll never find who you're looking for if you kill me now."

"Watch me."

Jo twisted the man's arm and he gritted his teeth. "If you don't go to them, they'll come to you." She said, just loud enough to rise above the city noise. "You're right, I can't kill you, but I can rough you up. They won't have a hard time finding you if you're hospitalised."

This seemed to stir something in the man. Both knew they weren't dealing with people playing the game by the rules. "If I tell you, will-"

"I'll stop hurting you."

"I'll lead you there... Follow me."

Equaliser.

The man sighed from relief as the girl let his arm go, but he didn't seem to feel comfortable at all. All the better for Jo, her cards had been a bluff. If their messenger was good enough to trick her, her targets would be smart enough to figure out they were being hunted by the Blossom. Fortunately even the slyest of schemers can't think straight under pressure; all this man could have thought about was how to get out of his situation...

The man stood still, "Here we are." he said. They had entered a store and walked down towards the basement. Jo and the man were now in front of a door. The man hesitated and looked at Jo. All this time he must have been thinking, Jo had just been fiddling with the suitcase. His sheepish grin returned and the man laughed a little. "But as soon as they see you, they'll kill us both."

"I know." Jo smirked. "I only needed to find their hide-out, that's enough for a day's work. Here, your suitcase." Jo handed it back to the man, who looked at her puzzled. It didn't matter to him, she'd be dead soon either way. But the girl wished him good luck and seemed to be off, heading back up to the surface.

He opened the door and met the familiar smell of weeds and tobacco. Heads gathered around the table in the room all turned instantly; a criminal reflex for those who have been in the business too long. A woman stood up and shrieked; "Frank, you look like hell! What is with your face?"

"I got followed by the Blossom, she's still here!" Frank yelled. "What are you waiting for? Kill her before they come back with more!"

Everyone in the room was quick on their feet, they pulled their guns and ran up the stairs, only to be met by a blinding light. "A flash grenade!"

Jo; two, bastards; one.

Those were one man's famous last words. A fussilade with the blind was nothing more than picking targets off one by one. After all the time Jo's triggerhappy fingers had ached; they could finally be satisfied. Jo couldn't feel content, however. For all the frustration the chase had build up, a fight that was less challenging than a practice round on duds, was no satisfaction at all.

Iris Silver, former agent of the Blossom, was sitting on a worn out sofa inside a house of a family she had only met once before. A middle aged couple sat across from her, observing a message on her cell phone that lay on the table. There expressions were worrisome, and the longer they read it the more their jaws dropped.

“Looks like The Mother is serious about this,” the man said after the two had finished reading. He slid the phone back to her and she quickly placed it into her pocket. “So if you don’t prove to be absolutely loyal to her then a bounty will be placed on your head? And she’s already killed off one her own?”

“That’s the idea,” Iris confirmed.

“And you wish to oppose her?” The woman asked.

“I know I can’t trust her enough to go back there. Please…let me stay with you. I have nowhere else to go,” she pleaded. She wanted to look both cute and vulnerable at the same time. For her it wasn’t hard to pull off, but she decided to be safe and hit him with a double whammy. “When we met a month ago, you said that you owed me one.”

“You’re right,” the man said. His name was Alex Grim, otherwise known as the Zero Killer. The Zero Killer was well known, but his true identity of Alex Grim was not. In fact, Iris and Alex’s wife were most likely the only ones who knew. Iris had been sent after the Zero Killer by orders of The Mother about a month ago. She only had a description of his latest outfit, which he changed periodically, to go by. She was about to fail her assignment until one day she witnessed a vicious robbery of an elderly woman. In a stroke of luck, the Zero Killer appeared right in front of her to confront the robber. He was dressed in flowing grey robes and a mask. Although that was a different outfit then he was last seen wearing, her gut said that this was him. Him wearing a mask, combined with his vigilante justice while everyone else just looked on, all but confirmed it.

The Zero Killer was quick to fend off the robber and even quicker to leave. He was clearly uncomfortable to act out as the Zero Killer in public, leaving a chance for him to be caught. That chance had just become a lot greater then he realized. She chased after him, careful to keep her speed down to human levels but fast enough to keep him in sight. She didn’t want to catch him in a public place anyways or else she would draw as much attention as this man just did. She was sneaky enough to act like she had lost him, allowing the man to let his guard down and enter a house. She was about to burst into the room and complete her mission, but then she noticed his wife and kid through the window. She hesitated as his family went into one room and he went to another room. She didn’t know what to do, which could have cost her dearly once the Zero Killer came at her from behind.

“How-” She started to ask as his knife went up against her throat.

“The secret entrance,” he explained in a gruff voice. “My kid knows nothing of this, so please don’t scream.”

She kept a bottle of water with her at all times, and that was her ticket out of here. She quickly unscrewed the lid and dipped her finger into the cold liquid.

“Put your hands up,” he ordered.

She brought the water up along with her finger and tapped her neck, covering it with water and forming a protective barrier of ice. He was clearly surprised at this, giving her enough time to break free of his grip and force him to the ground with a powerful blow to the stomach. She hesitated to deliver the final blow, however, thinking of the family that he would leave behind. Emotions such as that would be overridden if she truly believed that he deserved it, but in this moment she wasn’t so sure. After all, wasn’t he taking the same actions that she was?

His child saw them standing out there, and with both unwilling to kill the other the Zero Killer invited her in for a meal, pretending that they were friends. Perhaps he didn’t want to let her go so she could inform The Mother of his location, but his acts of kindness appeared to become more genuine as the two got to know each other. In the end she agreed to tell The Mother that the Zero Killer proved to be impossible to track down. The Zero Killer, in return, said he’d owe her one if she finds herself in trouble. It was at this moment, a month later, that she was taking him up on this offer.

“I have our child to think about, Alex,” the woman pleaded. “She’s only going to draw more conflict into this family.”

“Please, dear. Iris is only a child as well. I don’t believe we can turn her down in her time of need,” Alex explained, putting a hand compassionately on her shoulder.

They eventually came to the agreement that she could stay during the nights, as long as Iris taught Alex as much about the Blossom and their powers as possible. She would also be his sparing partner, and with her superhuman abilities he could push himself to the limit and become even more deadly then he already was. She agreed to his offer, and the two went to work to take down The Mother.

Reia 'Ellia' Va'Les

Reia was left standing on the curb for at least an hour before deciding to walk 'home'. By the time she actually got home she wasn't exactly happy, but it was a typical 'anger'. "Who was supposed to pick me up?!?" She screamed as she came into the building, "I don't like walking!"

"You chose to walk Camellia." One of the other members stated as she moved by.
Reias hand shot out but she missed the woman by inches. There was only one person that was aloud to use the her full codename. It wasn't that she hated it, in fact she loved her name, it was actually because only Mother was aloud to use.
Almost as quick as her composure was lost, it was regained. "I'll play a punishment game with her later. Mother will be mad if I make the halls bloody again." Reia giggled before skipping off, she did not remember choosing to walk, walking took too much time from playing games.

She skipped around the entry hall for a while, not really doing anything in particular, just skipping. However she stopped when she was approached, "Did you finish everything to Mothers specifications?"
Reia giggled, "Of course, the bad man is dead and in his chair, they will find him sometime in the morning if they ever open his door." Before another question could be asked she started skipping off again, going to her room this time.

“Everyone has shown up for the meeting,” The Man informed The Mother, who was busy looked at some computer screens. Each screen detailed the current situation of one of her many pet projects. Her most recent project, the one she was observing right now, was something entitled “Project Y”. He had never heard of that one before. It was amazing how her attention could be on so many things at once, and each one was quite complicated to begin with. Her focus quickly shifted to a screen labeled “The Blossom”, which contained information on all the current members and their locations.

“Indeed they have. Sorry. I got a little side tracked,” she said after turning off all the monitors with a flip of the switch.

**********

Laina let out a large yawn and stretched her arms out as she waited for the meeting to begin. Her hair was a mess, her cloths in disarray, and she hadn’t even bothered to put shoes on, but at least she got out of bed this morning and that counted for something. Ever since she got her powers she slept away more then half the day, but she wasn’t one to complain because that was one of her favorite pastimes. In fact, that’s what she’d be doing now if it wasn’t for the important meeting she had been called to.

As soon as she finished her yawn, The Mother entered the room and briefly glanced her way but dismissed the sight as normal. That’s what Laina liked the most about The Mother. She wasn’t stingy enough to care about anything besides results, and Laina was always one to complete her assignments no matter how difficult.

“Thank you all for coming,” The Mother said in a soft tone, like they were attending an eloquent banquet. “Unfortunately, business is at hand and there’s no time for pleasantries this evening.”

Too bad. And Laina was expecting a nice little tea party.

“Everyone in this room will be focused on wiping out the traitors within the Blossom,” The Mother explained. “Someone has already made an attempt on my life and five more have mysteriously vanished since then. It’s to be assumed that they’re in league with each other, so they must be eliminated.”

Some of the members seemed slightly uneasy about this, although most tried not to show it. Could they be having second thoughts about striking down their own members, or were they simply afraid to fight opponents stronger then their normal targets? To Laina, both reasons were pathetic.

“I’m placing you into pairs,” The Mother continued. “Each pair will be tasked with finding and eliminating one of the six deserters. If you happen to come across any traitor other then your target, feel free to take them out as well. You’ll be greatly rewarded for your efforts.”

As she spoke, the Man went around and handed everyone their assignments. He was known as the Man simply because there was no other male in the Blossom. That always struck everyone as odd why there was only one. Why even bother?

The Man left after finishing his task, so Laina’s turned her attention to her mission statement. Her target was codenamed Clover. According to her record, Clover only displayed heightened strength and speed to a mild extent. Laina was hoping to be sent after someone of higher caliber then her, but beggars can’t be choosers. Maybe if she took her out quickly she could knock some more heads around.

“Alright. Let’s get this over with,” she said to the young woman standing next to her. “My codename is Orchid. You look awfully familiar. What’s your codename again?”

Reia 'Ellia' Va'Les

She would have gone to her room, except she was stopped and guided off to a place that Mother was going to have a meeting. "Yay!" She yelled, she loved hearing Mothers meetings. With any luck she would get praised, she really liked getting praised.

Reia stood there watching Mother with great interest. Traitors? That meant she gets to play games with other Blossom members. She always wanted to play games with other members, it always seemed like it would be great fun. That wasn't all apparently they were going to be in pairs. She was less enthusiastic about this, she had never played her games with a partner. The Man then went around giving everyone papers.
She wasn't praised this meeting, but it was fun to learn she now had a new target. She looked over the paper before grinning at the name showing on the paper 'Clover'. It really didn't matter to her who her target was, she only cared as far as 'whos the next game'.
From what the paper was telling her, Clover wasn't exactly going to be dangerous as strength and speed was good, but it wouldn't protect her from a good game of hide and seek.

'My codename is Orchid. You look awfully familiar. What’s your codename again?' Reia nearly jumped out of her skin, she had been so focused on who was her next game that she forgot she was standing near her new game partner.
"Camellia, but only Mother can call me that so you can call me Ellia or Reia. So...whats your plan for the game? I just figure hide and seek, and I'm fairly good a hide and seek." Reia had begun grinning in a very evil way, her blades moving up as her shirt sleeves moved down some, "Slashy slashy." She giggled.

She wasn’t used to working with other people, far less children, so she decided that it would be best to split up and just let her handle things. If they tried working together without knowing about how the other one fights, it’s possible that they would just get in each others way. Besides, this target didn’t seem like a big enough challenge to waste her powers on.

“Hide and seek isn’t my strong point, but knock yourself out,” Laina replied. “If you’re game doesn’t work out, I’ll come in and finish things up for you.”

The girl’s evil grin gave her quite a likable personality from Laina’s perspective. As long as she was around, Laina could tell that things would be quite entertaining. With such entertainment there was also a sense of unpredictability. She wondered if Reia would try to kill her at some point, so she decided not to catch up on her nap while she was around, at least until she figured out if it was safe or not to do so. She was all for fun, but getting killed in her sleep wouldn’t be as interesting as if she got a chance to actually fight her.

“Well anyways, I’ll finish getting dressed and then we can head out. Our targets currently at the gym and she usually stays there for an hour. That gives us forty minutes left, which is plenty of time.”

There were still people gathered around talking, but The Mother seemed to be finished so got out of her seat and headed to her room.

How could her game not work? Her games always worked...okay the first game got a little out of hand and her second was not completely to Mothers liking, but thus far all of her games was completely successful, well in terms of the other person being dead.

The woman seemed to not trust her, a slightly wise move on her part as if Reia had the choice she would gladly play a game with her partner; but she would behave, Mother doesn't like it when she plays games when shes not supposed to.
"Forty minutes? Excellent! That gives me time to finish what I'm have to do." Reia quickly bolted out of the room, sliding some as she did so. She ran to her room because she had to do somehting before she forgot.
Her room was interesting, her bed was in the exact middle of her room and looked like a typical little girls bed with a large number of stuffed bears on it. The right wall had every lyric from every Rob Zombie song listed in their correct order. The left wall had every lyric set up in one long song that actually did make some sense. The back wall had two large posters on either side of a window, one poster had a male image with a large number of marker crossings over various parts of his body marking the most dangerous areas she can cause pain, the other poster had the same thing but with a woman.
The wall with the door was the most interesting thing though. To the right of the door it had it had exactly two tic marks toward the roof and close to the wall with a step ladder near it. There was the words 'Successful games' written toward the middle of the area. The left side was bare with the exception of 'unsuccessful games'.

She climbed up the step ladder and carved another tic into the wall and giggled, "That's three, Mommy."

With that she dropped from the stepladder and started out of the room. She originally planned to go to the Gym, however she stopped at the primary doors. She just realized she had no clue where this gym was so now she had to sit here waiting for her game partner.

Ravenna was always stealthy when it came to killing her prey. She didn't like to kill quickly and directly. Slowly and painfully was her game. She watched from behind a wall as she saw her victim, a man, walked into a company building. With lightning speed, she followed after him...silently, but quickly. The man was only an employee at the company, but he was still a great threat to Mother and the organization. With a quick glance, she saw that nobody was guarding the building. Ravenna smirked and dashed into the building, hiding behind a tall pillar. The man entered his office, and Ravenna sneaked in after him. The man stared at her with confusion and said,
"Who are you?"
Ravenna didn't say anything. She unsheathed a short sword that was tied to her thigh and stabbed him, slowing turning it so it drilled into his heart. He let out a scream, but she knows no one can hear him. With a creepy smile on her face, Ravenna whispered,
"Shut up."
She quickly pulled out her sword and watched as the man died slowly and painfully. Ravenna made a small flame appear on her palm and made his body burst into the flames. She sheathed her sword, and just as quickly as she got in, she left and made it back to the orphanage. Ravenna walked in and exclaimed,"I'm back..."

Partnering up. Just great. There was something about the Blossom's girls that didn't always feel too well. A lot of them were fucked up in the head lunatics. Vicious to the bone and a bloodthirst unfitting girls their age. Figured, according to Jo. You had to be either mad or tough to keep this job up and she hadn't figured which of the two she was. One of the deserters, Clover, had always struck Jo as sane. Pity it turned out she wasn't.

Clover turned out to be the target of Laina's; the Orchid, infamous for her rather... Emotional style of combat. Jo pitied Clover; her death wouldn't be quick and painless. Orchid seemed to have already partnered up with a younger girl, Jo didn't know this one, she must have been new.

The man stretched the hand-out, which Jo grasped from his hands. She wasn't sure why she disliked him, she just did. Jo glanced over the papers briefly, "Who is Tournesol?" she asked before getting to the end of it. Jo hated written instructions; they were vague and never offered direct feedback. "The tall, blonde one, right?"

“Who is Tournesol? The tall, blonde one, right?” The young woman asked, having just received her assignment not a moment before.

“There’s a picture attached at the end, height and weight measurements included,” the Man replied, slightly irritated that she hadn’t read all the way through it. He didn’t handle kids very well, and any effort given to them seemed like babysitting. He always felt like The Mother babied them too much. Sure, a lot of them were tough, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t behave awfully childlike sometimes.

He got a few more questions sent his way while he made his rounds, but luckily they were all simple fixes that didn’t take much time explaining. He hoped he could just send assignments digitally from now on, and found it odd that they had reverted to paper this time around. Was there some security hazard the way they were doing it before? Well, at least the ordeal was over with and he could go back to his original work.

**********

Laina had finished getting ready, so she headed out to meet her temporary partner. She wasn’t bringing her ball and chain along for this mission, which was a first. She never liked using discretion, but this time around she would need to adjust her tactics to fit her partner’s plan. Besides, she didn’t plan on needing the heavy artillery for this mission anyways. Only one thing bothered her, and that because her target went to the gym as usual despite the current situation. Was she stupid or naïve enough to believe that there wouldn’t be any repercussions for abandoning The Mother? Did she feel like there was nowhere to escape anyways so didn’t bother hiding? Was she in denial? Did she have a trap set up?

A trap wouldn’t work against an elite warrior such as herself, so she didn’t worry about losing. She was just curious as to what was going through Clover’s mind to take the actions she has been taking recently. Oh well. It was her lose.

She found Reia waiting for her at the front entrance, so she motioned for the young girl to follow. They were headed to a special gym called the New York Fitness Academy. A lot of the people there were quite tough and practiced multiple martial arts, which is why someone like Clover would choose such a place. If you wanted to learn to fight, that was the place to be. As she thought about all the tough men there, an interesting idea popped into her mind.

“Hey Reia, if you need a good distraction, I’ll fight all the people inside the gym for you, Clover excluded of course,” she whispered so nobody around them would hear.

Reia Ellia VaLes

Reia had grown bored, she had seen a few people coming and going but paid them no mind. However when she saw Orchid she gave a squeal, "About time." She said with a grin before following after her game partner.

As they walked Reia started thinking about what song would be perfect for initiating the second phase of the game. It had to be a special song as they were going after a traitor. However as they neared the gym she heard Orchid tell her that if she needed a distraction that she would fight everyone in the gym. "Well the lights off are all I need, but people tend to turn on lights when they go out so yes a distraction would be nice. I will try and either guide or follow Orchid to a private area for the game. People also tend to dislike when deadly games are played where they can see."

Reia checked to make sure that her sleeves were fully down before looking toward Orchid, "Shall we go show the traitor what happens when she stops wanting to play Mothers games?"
That was actually something that confused Reia, why would anyone stop playing these games? They were quite fun. Perhaps a better game was found? Or maybe they stopped liking the game? No that would just be stupid, I mean not liking the game doesn't mean you can just stop. Perhaps the game got to hard for them. That seemed to make the most sense to Reia, a hard game loses its grasp, not as fast as an easy game, but sitll quite fast.

It was more than just a shame that the Man was an insider; as it overruled Jo's excuse to break his face. Thought too fondly of himself, she remembered why she hated him again. That arrogant asshole.

Jo growled inaudibly and skipped through the pages. "Tournesol. April Jackson, 19, part of the Blossom for 18 months." She read out loud, partly not to lose sight of what was written, partly to annoy the Man. "Powers involve high stamina, above average speed and... Magnetism?"

Well that was just great; If this girl'd notice her before she got a shot in, Jo knew she was going to have a big problem. A problem that left her unarmed while Tournesol... She'd rather not think of that. One and a half year with the Blossom and still breathing meant this April had a good load of experience under her belt and was not unlikely a lot stronger than her. Jo started seeing the reason she was going to be partnered up. She couldn't be picky about personality now; she needed one of the stronger girls.

"So who is up for pulling this one's petals?"

Ravenna approached Jo with a smirk,"I am. Although I've killed one person already, I'm not done yet." A small flame appeared on the palm of her hand. "So who's the unlucky victim?" An evil smile appeared on her face.

A serial killing enthusiast, Jo hadn't expected any less when she threw in the group. Hell if she cared now, though, it deemed official as the remaining Blossom members had already finished pairing up. On the bright side though, Ravenna's ability was perfect for engaging Tournesol; she was a very efficient weapon even without her swords.

Jo pushed Tournesol's file into Ravenna's hands, "Here, this the one. But we better watch our backs or we'll become the unlucky victims." She wasn't even kidding. Tournesol was no joke, even with Ravenna's power over fire, Tournesol's magnetism ability could disarm her in a split second. This wasn't going to be an easy fight by anyone's standards.

When Ravenna finished with the papers, Jo procceded to cover the more practical parts. "To give ya a piece of my mind, I don't feel like going up against Tournesol directly at all. Rather snipe her off from a distance. Any ideas on how to set that up?"

“Shall we go show the traitor what happens when she stops wanting to play Mother’s games?” Reia asked.

“Sure thing,” Laina replied, hardly listening to what she was saying. She was starting to get drowsy again, so maybe a nice fight would help wake her up. At least when she was unleashing her powers she was always wide awake, like ten gallons of caffeine had been poured into her blood stream all at once. Just like a sugar rush, however, she always got tired afterwards. Perhaps she had used her powers for too long on that last mission of hers, but she had to fight at least twenty men and they kept using strategies to try to draw things out. They were only delaying the inevitable. She hated strategies, especially ones that makes things take longer for no good reason.

She quickened her pace, eager to get this assignment over with and slip back into bed. She would try to activate her powers for a shorter amount of time just to keep her awake long enough to finish the mission.

They arrived at the gym faster then expected, much to her relief. They went inside without any problems and nobody even gave them a second glance. After looking into each room they passed, she eventually spotted their target in the middle of an exercise. That was good. Perhaps she would be too tired too put up much of a fight. Not that Laina cared much, however, because it was mostly up to her partner anyways. There was also six men in there that looked even tougher then she had originally thought. This appeared to be a kickboxing class, so that wouldn’t be much of a threat against her fighting style.

“Alright,” she whispered to Reia. “See that back room were all the equipment is held? It appears like a perfect place for your little game. The only way there is through this room, and the people here will be much too preoccupied with me to enter.”

She went into the room and waived Reia in as well, showing that it was time to carry out the plan.

Reia 'Ellia' VaLes
Reia gave a few light groans as they entered the gym, and multiple times as they went through in search of their target. The lights was annoying her, but that wasn't the reason she was groaning, she was groaning because she was getting bored. However when they came to the target a wide grin spread across Reias lips.

She heard the plan and nodded moving through ant to the small back room to check the size and shape of the room before moving out and starting over toward Clover. She was walking up behind the target, but that didn't really matter much as Clover would still have a realization that Reia was near. Yes Reia was newer, but her voice was known to a large number of the Blossom members, well her singing voice was.
"She threw downtown on a gambling green, and fenced a chicken dog in a movie." Reia started singing as she came out of the room and started toward Clover. She had thought through the various songs, and though there was so many she could sing, this one was the one that stuck. She was planning on singing Dead Girl Superstar.
"A long haired baby got a record machine like a hacksaw falling on me." Her voice was quite mesmerizing, and she skillfully hit every tone, though that may be because she has had plenty of practice. "Go, go, go, go, dying to go. She's moving in like a demon."
A twisted grin was spreading across her lips and her singing died down as she neared Clover, it didn't matter if Clover had turned or not her words wasn't going to change, "Big sister, Mothers not happy with you, why don't we play in that side room." She wasn't related to Clover, it was just something easy to call Clover right now.

(singing will be in light blue, speaking in green ^^)
