Layla finally smiled then and nodded. "It's me love. I'm here."Then she couldn't help herself. She flung her arms around his neck and tears began pouring from her eyes and down onto his skin. Her body shook with the heaves and sobs that she'd held back for weeks.

Her now chopped hair fell around her face as she broke down. This was rare. Layla had always been the strongest of her family emotionally. She had always been one to suffer in scilence, Lance had been the one to change that. He'd been the one to break through to her and now, everything since her arrest came back to her in a wave and she let rhe tears flood her face. At least for the moment she felt completely safe.

Because ten billion years' time
is so fragile, so ephemeral...
it arouses such a bittersweet,
almost heartbreaking fondness.

King's arms wrapped around Layla instantly like instinct. It hadn't required any thought to hold her. To she was real. To be lost in her even if she turned out to be a lie. His arms tighted around her pulling her close as tears streaked his cheeks. His mind refused to think or rationalise how she could still be here or that she might be a impostor. If he died right now then at least his death would have been a relief.

He wept and cried. He doesn terrible things. It didn't matter. She was probably all in his head. He didn't care. She felt real. Smelt real. Sounded real. Acted real. If it was a illusion or dream he didn't want to give it up. His throat was choked, he couldn't even speak how he felt. All he do was hold her tightly.

"My love, I've missed you so. And I swear when this is all over we can start a family. We can settle somewhere quiet and you we'll be able to forget all about this. Sadly though i don't have as long as I'd like. Your team will be calling on you soon. I'll also have a meeting with a man about me state of being." Layla said as she clung to him. Then she took hold of what was left of her tattered sleeve and tore it off.

Layla then took the strip of silk off and took holf of his arm. Gently she began to wrap his hand in it. She then brought his hands to her lips and kissed them softly. Slowly the tears started up again and she laid her head back on his shoulder.

Layla shook and trembled as she sobbed on his shoulder. After a mintue she pulled back slightly, not far enough to be out of his arms, as she tried wiping the tears from her eyes. "I'm sor-ry lo-ove, I'm just-t......I've mi-issed you....
