The hotel suite was dead silent despite the fact that four people currently occupied it. They were all gathered in the living room, a teenage girl sitting crossed legged on the couch while a similarly aged male sat tensely next to her. An older gentleman stood off to the side, dressed in a full tuxedo and bowler hat. The final occupant was a blond woman in her late twenties, who had pulled a chair out from a desk to face the others. All the blinds were closed, blocking out the beautiful view of a Hawaiian beach that loomed right outside their expensive resort. Unfortunately, none of them looked like they would be enjoying their stay any time soon.

Five knocks on the door broke the silence, followed by a stream of light as the door opened, revealing a clean-cut african american man in a grey business suit. He cautiously looked both ways before closing the door again and saying, “We’re all clear. These meetings will be kept our little secret.”

“Thank you Erec,” the girl replied. She went by the name Guinevere White, but her real name was known only to Lance, the young man sitting next to her. One could say she was a little bit overly cautious on matters such as that, but in her line of work as a private investigator it kept her alive.

“I brought everyone here as part of a murder investigation,” she continued after Erec had removed his jacket and found a seat nearby. “As you are all aware of, a large amount of mysterious deaths have been occurring worldwide over the past couple of days. This island in particular caught my interest, so to make a long story short, that’s why we’re here. In all honesty I’m being extra cautious right now for reasons that you won’t want to hear.”

Everybody in the room became a lot more tense as she finished, and Erec edged her on to continue.

“The first reason is that I have come under the conclusion that these murders are carried out through magic, or at the very least by technology that has never been heard of before; one that can selectively kill their victims while not only leaving absolutely no physical evidence behind, but also disregarding both distance and physical mass that couldn’t have been penetrated without anyone realizing it. Let’s just say that during some of the murders I have researched, that’s exactly what needed to happen.”

“No technology like that exists that I’m aware of,” the blonde woman, Igraine, mentioned.

“I agree with you, and that’s why I said there’s a possibility of the murders being carried out through magic, as much as I hate to say it. Please keep that in mind for the future,” Guinevere explained.

It took a while for the group to completely digest what she had just said. After a brief moment of silence the older gentleman, a man who went by the name Lucan questioned, “What’s the other reason for being cautious, milady, besides the normal reasons of course?”

“This murderer has been killing off american tourists,” she said quickly and quietly, almost in hope that they wouldn’t catch what she said and they could go onto another subject. Of course that wasn’t how things turned out, and there was an uproar that took her over a minute to settle down. “In the files I noticed how most of the victims were behaving poorly before their deaths, some even going as far as getting complaints filed against them for disorderly conduct. I only brought everyone here because I have faith that we can all act like adults. We just need to be a little careful for the time being.”

“Anything else you’d like to add,” Erec asked, still slightly irritated at her.

“As a matter of fact I have a couple more hours worth,” she said with a smile, but secretly she had become just as gloomy as the rest of them. After a heavy sigh from the entire group, the meeting continued.

-No, no. It's J-E-F-E-R. Jefer. My ancestors are from Eastern Europe.-
Tony was getting anxious.
Well, this is what happens when you move to foreign country. Everybody has troubles reading and/or writing your bloody name.
-Oh, here it is- receptionist said, after writing Tony's surname in computer. -Your room number is 24.-
She turned to the counter where keys were located, picked one and turned back to Tony.
-Here's your key. Do you want me to call someone to escort you?-
-No, thank you- Toni politely refused. He turned to other woman who was standing beside him. -C'mon, let's go.-

Her name was Cindy Baker. She is 29 years old blond from FBI's PID (Paranormal Investigations Department), and Toni's partner on this case.

PID is newly opened department of FBI, whose goal is to investigate those things that potencially cannot be explained by science. Or, at least, science alone.
Tony smiled.
Real life X-Files, he thought.
One of PID's cases last year was dealing with some sort of coven, or cult, that was located in Texas. It's members were capable of doing something that looked like magic. Cindy was one of investigators on that case. She saw what they were capable of with her own eyes.

Bosses in FBI considered this murders to be simply impossible, so they sent her with Tony. There is two reasons for that:
First. There was just too many of them, with always the same pattern.
Second. This pattern was the fact that, while doing autopsy, nothing out of place could be found in the metabolism of victim. It was like all those victims just... died.

Agents of FBI are already scattered all around the US, investigating into this matter. These murders appear everywhere. Literary everywhere. Of course, there was a cooperation between them, including Tony and Cindy, and FBI central. It is done with help of laptops and mobile phones. Just like kids these days.

Tony and Cindy found their room within the couple of moments. On their way, Tony noticed an african-american guy. It looked like he was in hurry. Tony had some sort of feeling about him, and that was strange. Never before he had any prejudice or something like that against the people of different race. But, he still felt something strange about that guy.
It's like he'll be importa... Gah, never mind.
He unlocked the doors and both he and Cindy entered the room.
-Room seems alright- Cindy said.
-Well, as long as it serves its purpose and doesn't do us any harm, it is alright- Tony replied.
-I guess you're right, mr. Jefer.-
-Please, call me Tony, OK? We're partners now, and this looks strange to me.-
Cindy smiled.
-Yes, of course... Tony.-

After they sorted out their things they carried with themself, Tony took his briefcase and opened it. Inside it was laptop and all things needed to connect to Internet, and therefore, access FBI's mainframe. After ten minute, which is how much time Tony needed to connect all that gear and boot up the laptop, he connected to FBI's database.
Alright then, let's see if someone found out something.

The seagulls cried, breaking the loud screams of children and senseless chattering of their parents. It was days like this that Mai really wished she didn't live in Hawaii. The weather was beautiful, as were the nature scenes and the culture of the locals living here. But with all the pollution from the tourists, Mai knew this world could be so much more beautiful.

Taking off her sun dress to reveal a hot red bikini skimpily covering her beautifully curved body, Mai prepared herself for her daily swim. Once her clothes and flip flops were laying next to her light pink towel in the beautiful sand, Mai removed her precious necklace and then wrapped the cord around her wrist three times in order to make it a loosely fitted bracelet. She always had the purple crystal on her, no matter what she was doing. It was far too precious to be left just laying around for anyone and their mom to come by and snatch it.

ONce she was finally prepared, Mai made a well calculated dash to the ocean. There were tourists, sand castles and beach towels scattered in her way, and in order to get down to the beautiful clear waters, she would skillfully have to dodge the obstacles. Once she finally felt the cold sand that was soaked from the waves, she knew she had made record time. Luckily, no child got in her way and she could trample past the waves. She didn't stop until she was chest deep in the water.

Now that she could swim without the sand interfering with her strokes, Mai took off. She started with a simple butterfly stroke, then once her arms grew tired, she rolled over and kicked with her feet. After switching back and forth a couple times when she grew tired, Mai stopped and floated for a bit. She had been swimming parallel with the beach, and finally she had made her way down to the private beaches where tourists were not allowed.

With a polite smile, Mai waved to Mr. Peters. He was a nice old man who had taught her a lot about the ways of this Island way back when they first moved here. He always walked the private beaches at the same time that Main always took her daily swim. Seeing him told Mai she had swam long enough and it was time to head back.

However, as Mai floated there, the ocean pulling and pushing her how it pleased, Mai felt the urge to go further. With a sigh, Mai knew she shouldn't though. She was on a tight schedule and today was no day for exploring, no matter how beautiful it was.

"Have a nice day!" She called out to Mr. Peters. He waved back at her as she started swimming back to her starting place. Her swim took exactly an hour, and by the time she had returned to her clothes, some of the tourists had picked up and headed home. This meant her walk to the hotel would be swarming with hungry tourists. "Great..."

Grabbing her clothes and towel, Mai dried her nice tan body, and then slipped her sun dress over her body. Upon doing so, Mai noticed her bathing suit left wet spots on her dress and groaned. She couldn't be wet at work...it was just unacceptable. With a quick snap of the back of her top, Mai took off first the top, then the bottoms of her bathing suit. By the time she got to the hotel she worked at, her dress would be dry and no one would notice the wet spots...or her lack of underwear. It was a good thing her breast weren't too large, otherwise she'd get too many odd looks from the hotel guests and then her boss would bitch at her for being unprofessional.

The last of the people working with Guinevere had just left her suite a couple minutes ago, officially concluding their first meeting of the investigation. It mainly consisted of what to look out for and how to be careful against the powers these new murderers appeared to have. She knew that it was the work of multiple individuals due to the different characteristics of the killings around the world, but what she wanted to know was why it all started up simultaneously.

That would tend to point to a new technology being released, but why would the inventor use the weapon against different types of people in different locations? Just to toy with people? If they were a terrorist organization one would think they would use the weapon on larger groups of people rather then picking and choosing who they want to kill according to the demographic. If it was a government’s handiwork then there would be no reason to use it on their own citizens, so judging from the fact that every technologically advanced country has had casualties, that would probably not be the case.

There was also a problem with her magic theory, which goes back to the fact that it all started simultaneously. The murderers show no indication of working together, so why would they all start up around the same time? She wanted to figure out what was going on, but knew too little to come up with a theory that made sense. Sitting him her room wouldn’t help her any in that regard, so she decided that she would join the others in observing the populace. It was too hot in Hawaii to wear her hoodie outside, so with regret she left it behind in her room along with her flip-flops.

When she got to the front desk she picked up a few maps and brochures to figure out where to snoop around first, but was quickly interrupted by an Asian girl rushing into the building. Neither of them appeared to be paying attention to the other, causing them to collide and nearly knock each other off their feet. Guinevere quickly scooped up the brochures she had dropped and apologized.

Tony and Cindy were driving to local morgue. A death has been reported, and local police force believes it could be one of those murders. Two of them were supposed to take a role of observers in victim's autopsy.

Victim was 39-year old Hispano-American called Rodrigo Menchaca, recently immigrated from Mexico. Legally, of course. All paperwork was done, by book.
-What do you think, what will we find?- Cindy asked.
-What do you think?- Tony replied with counter question.
-Well, if it really is somehow related to our case, nothing.-
-Same here- Tony said. -This whole case doesn't have any sense. No clues? That's impossible. This magnitude? Simply ridiculous. There must be some sort of secret that ties all these murders together. Either that, or... I don't know.-
They both looked worried.

Tony tried to start a conversation.
-So... How did that coven case went?-
-You mean that case in Texas last year? It really was something. I don't know how they were able to do all that stuff, but they were doing it. Believe me, I did...- she was telling, but got interrupted by loud noise.
What the...?, Tony asked himself.
-Alarm- Cindy said. -It's probably coming from nearby convenience store. I'll drive there.-
-Quickly.-
Oh great, a robbery. Well, looks like we'll be a little late.

Running quite a bit late, Mai rushed into the building, her flip flops flopping and her sun dress bottom trailing a bit behind her. She had been just about to rush back towards the back room when she suddenly stopped, remembering her bag with her bathing suit and other things in it. She was often scolded for bringing wet clothes into the back room, and made a point to leave them at the front desk with Akewaka so he could guard them from the higher ups.

So, just as she was stopping, and spinning on her heels at the same time, Mai tried to launch herself towards the front counter and suddenly collided with something. Jumping back at the collision, Mai held tightly to her necklace, and bag as her eyes widened. 'Where did she COME from?!'

Instantly dropping to her knees, Mai helped the woman pick up her things. Their hands touched for a mere second, and Mai could almost feel the cold radiating off the woman. It was then that she looked at the brunette's eyes and noticed they were two different colors. "So Kawaii!" She accidentally said out loud. Blushing at that moment, Mai quickly stood up, still holding onto a brochure. It was then that she realized what the woman had been dropping. Sight seeing Brochures. Smiling she said "Ah...Are you a new Guest here? We have plenty of tour guides to help you in your journeys if you so desire one. I personally am one of them..."

With a polite smile, Mai tried to put on the best professional, yet 'get me out of here' face she could muster. She didn't feel like cleaning rooms today, but that's the job that would be awaiting her if she didn't get picked to give a tour. It was then that she realized she was still holding the woman's brochures and stretched her arm out so that the guest wouldn't have to reach out to her to get her things back. It was the point for tourists to not have to lift a finger here. Although she was able to put on the best sweet smiles to hide her dislike for all the tourists, inside there was a growing pain that told her that this was just one more tourist. It was impossible for the woman to be here for more than just sight seeing.

“So Kawaii!” the young woman exclaimed after the two made eye contact. At first Guinevere was confused at what she meant, but quickly assumed she was talking about her heterochromia. She didn’t meet new people often, but the ones she did meet often gave some remark about her eyes. Normally it was a complement, but she sometimes would rather due without it. Having such a distinguishable physical trait wasn’t good for someone in her profession. Then again, walking around barefoot and in a hoodie like she usually did didn’t help her blend in either.

The woman suddenly blushed, causing Guinevere to blush as well for reasons that she couldn’t figure out. She quickly removed her hand from the brochure they had grabbed for at the same time and they both got back into standing positions, having picked up all of the spilled papers.

“Ah...Are you a new Guest here?” the woman asked after looking at the brochure she now held in her hand. “We have plenty of tour guides to help you in your journeys if you so desire one. I personally am one of them...”

Guinevere was a skilled investigator, but she didn’t have to be in order to catch onto the fact that the woman wanted to be her tour guide. Guinevere never liked traveling alone and was just thinking about getting to know the place a little better, so the offer was quite tempting. She couldn’t see any downsides either, so she accepted.

“I’d like for you to be my tour guide if you don’t mind. Thanks for asking,” she said politely to her after taking the brochure that was in her outstretched hand. Guinevere wasn’t used to saying please and thank you so much, but she thought it was better to be safe then sorry in light of the recent murders and the situations behind them. It was likely that the killer would be near a place with a lot of tourists, and may even secretly watch them some time before the actual murder takes place. She shivered at the possibility of the killer watching this conversation at this very moment. Once magic was thrown into the equation, a great unknown to her, she began to grow a little paranoid about certain things.

Tony and Martina approached the convenience store. There, they encountered police officer standing in front of it. Tony took his badge, showed it to policeman and said:
-I am Tony Jefer, FBI, and this is my partner, Cindy Baker.- Cindy also showed her badge.
-I'm officer Alan Anderson, policeman whose job is to patrol this neighborhood.-
-What's the current situation, officer?-
-I was patrolling a couple of blocks away from here when I heard alarm. I immediately rushed here. I saw a robber coming out of store. I believe it was a woman. The car you see here is most probably hers. I yelled a warning to her, to drop a weapon and a bag, and surrender, but she turned and ran back into the store. I started chasing her. She ran through the back door. I continued a chase, but somehow she managed to run away, or hide in some back alley. In other words, I was unable to catch her. Then, I came back and called for back-up. That's when you guys came.-
-Did you managed to see how she looked like?- Cindy asked.
-No- Anderson replied. -Her face was covered by some sort of mask.-
-And what about all the people in a store? Like, shop keepers?- she continued.
-Well... There's a slight problem regarding that.-
Tony didn't liked what Anderson just said, with that tone of voiced.
-What do you mean, problem?-
-All the employees... Well, they're all dead.-
What?, voice yelled inside Tony's head. Dead?
-How do you mean, dead?-
-Like that, dead- policeman anxiously replied. -But, something's wrong. There's no blood. Like they just dropped dead.-
-Like those murders occurring all around the world?- Cindy interrupted him.
-Yes.-
Tony and Cindy looked at each other, each one having puzzled look on their faces.
This can't be right. Is, or are, the culprit, or the culprits, behind these murders now doing this kind of things?
-We'll be taking the investigations of this crime into our hands, officer Anderson. Contact the police department and tell them that. Also, tell them where my partner and me are. They are expecting us and so should know that we are going to be little late. Cindy, after he does so, take his statement. I'm going in to inspect a scene of the crime. We are going to get to the bottom of this.-

Tony entered convenience store. Officer Anderson was right - hole bunch of corpses were laying around and blood was nowhere to be found. Upon close examination, Tony also saw that no corpse had any injury on them.
Like they really dropped dead. Exactly what is able to do this?
He took his iPhone out of his pocket and started making photographs. They won't be as detailed as photographs made by professional camera used by crime investigation member, but for needs of Tony's own case solving, it will be enough.
When he took his last photograph, he heard a voice behind him.
-Who are you? And what are you doing here?-

In what used to be the calm village of Princeville, a deadly burglary was currently taking place. Ten people had all been murdered simultaneously, and as soon as they all dropped someone quickly entered the store. The figure was dressed in a white mask that covered the entire head, a plain white shirt and blue jeans. While the clothing was androgynous, the slim form underneath betrayed the fact that the culprit was female. Her name was Alexandria Clarette. She was both smart and calculative, but also had a side of her that loved taking risks. However, it wasn’t exactly like she had a choice in the matter for this one. She was after something in the store, something she wanted to get her hands on as soon as possible. So now she found herself inside, alone besides the dead bodies that littered the ground. She had killed them all only a minute before and now had her hands on her prize. With no one to stop her, she started to calmly make her way to the front entrance until an alarm suddenly started ringing.

“Everyone here should be dead! Who could possibly have set off the alarm?” She thought to herself in a panic after letting out a few curses. So much for her cool demeanor. She had already found what she came for, so she decided to leave as quickly as possible out the front entrance, which was her plan in the first place. However, she wasn’t even able to take ten steps before the worst case scenario happened.

“Drop the bag and any weapons that you may have, then put your hands up!” a nearby police officer shouted. He started to draw a pistol as he spoke, but Alexandria didn’t stay long enough for the man to put it to good use. She dashed back into the store, agilely maneuvering past the bodies as she made her way into the back room. Her exit was locked, but one kick knocked the old door from it’s hinges and allowed her to escape into a back alley.

She could hear the police officer making his way through the store, shouting at her as he did so, but his efforts to catch her would all be in vain. In a stunt that would make an action hero envious, she leaped toward a nearby wall, kicking off it’s surface to reach the top of a steel fence. She swung her legs over the edge and landed with a roll on the other side. The police officer made his way into the alley just as she turned a corner that had them going in opposite directions of each other. She heard his footsteps come to a stop and the sound was replaced by him calling for backup on a radio.

She was glad that she was both a well trained athlete and gymnast or else all her bad luck could have gotten the better of her just now. Still, she didn’t regret the huge risk she had just taken. She loved the adrenaline and best of all she got her prize. As she stood their panting, a huge smile had crept onto her face underneath her mask. There was no point concealing her face anymore so she pulled the mask off and tossed it into a small bag along with two crystals. One of them she had just stolen from the store.

She wanted nothing more then to get some rest and examine her prize, but at the moment she knew she needed to get as far away from the place as possible before back-up arrived. After zipping up the bag and fixing her shoulder length back hair that had been displaced by her mask, she went on the move again. This time she moved much slower so she wouldn’t arouse suspicion, but fast enough to gain a lot of ground on the shop. After ten minutes went by, she was positive that no one had followed her so she entered her house and let out a sigh of relief.

“Now onto the next crystal,” she thought to herself, kicking off her shoes at the doorway and then carrying her bag up to her room.

The voice belonged to the new employee, named Johnny Troy. Tony was able to calm him down when he saw Tony taking photographs of crime scene.
-I was employed two days ago- Johnny said. -I just found a job and this happens.-
-Don't worry, mr. Troy, everything will be alright. Anyway, do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?-
-No, I don't. Go ahead.-
Tony activated micropgonoe application on his iPhone and started asking:
-Please tell me, what happened here?-
-Well, I was on a toilet. I have diarrhea again. Because I ate something bad. Again.-
Well, that's something I didn't wanted to know.
-Anyhow, when I got... "finished", I got out and went to boss' office to ask him something. Toilet and office are right near each other, so I didn't had to go through the, therefore, I didn't had any chance to, er, see my coworkers. In office, I saw the thief and the corpse of my boss. Thief was standing in front of opened safe. He, or she, didn't seem to be interested in money stored in it. You see, the thief looked like he/she was interested only in this crystal boos kept inside the safe.-
Only in crytsal?, Tony wondered. Well, that's strange.
-Then, I retreated to behind the cashier, where alarm button was located.-
-You remained hidden there?-
-Yes, I was the only one, and unarmed, and I thought all those corpses wpuld represent an obstacle in eventual case of me running away.-
-Did you, by any chance, saw how thief looks like?-
-No. I saw the thief only from behind.-
Just as I thought...
-Do you think there's something else you can tell me?-
-Well, there wasn't any noise that would indicate the robbery, only silence.-
So, our thief is indeed one the Ghost killers. Like thousand of other ones. Oh, dear God, this is getting better and better...
-Thank you, mr. Troy, your help will be helpful- Tony said and deactivated the microphone application.

So, there's a possibility the Ghost killer's main goal was the said crystal. I kind what kind of value it has, if the death of ten people is worth it.
Tony approached detective Miguel, the inspector who was given this case.
-Thief's main goal was apparently some crystal. It was kept in safe. Some a man to dust it for fingerprints. Let's hope the thief was careless- Tony said.
-Since that would be out only lead- Miguel replied, - I'll personally supervise that.
Tony smiled.
-Excellent.-
At that moment, Tony's attention was caught by some someones that were arguing. It were the policeman and some other man, in front of convenience store. Tony approached them and asked:
-What's the pro...- but, he was forced to stup mid-sentence. It was because the other man was the man Tony saw in hotel he and Cindy stayed in.

“I’d like for you to be my tour guide if you don’t mind. Thanks for asking,”

Smiling, Mai bowed ever so slightly towards the woman and then her eyes darted over to Akewaka. She would have to drop her things off with him still, and then let him know to tell their boss she was picking up tour guide duties and would do the cleaning later. Not that the tourists really cared when it got done, as long as it was eventually done.

Lifting from her bow, Mai quickly said "Hold on. I'll be with you in a moment." then rushed over to Akewaka and plopped her bag on the desk and quickly said "Going out...let Boss know I'm working with a guest and should be back in plenty of time before my shift gets over". She then smiled at him and spun around, returning to the woman's side.

With a friendly smile, Mai trust her hand out to properly shake hands and greet the woman then said, "My name is Mai. I'll be your tour guide today! Will we be traveling on foot, or would you like to rent a carriage for the day? Cars are so impractical in a place like this, and the two most efficient ways to travel are walking and riding in a carriage."

After that little greeting, Mai ran her fingers through her hair, noticing it was dry now. She really wished she could still be out swimming. Why couldn't she have moved to a less populated island? One where tourists didn't stink up the joint and demand to be waited on hand and foot? They really were such horrible people, tourists. They expect everyone to clean up after them, and they gawk at the natives like they were some sort of freak show. Mai wasn't a native, but being Asian, and actually FROM Korea, she was very often looked at funny as well.

Absentmindedly, Mai's hand reached up to the crystal around her neck and she ran her fingers against the smooth surface. She was slightly glad though, that she at least had some say in how her little world went. By having the power to rid the world of disgusting, sloppy and rude tourists, she was doing the world a favor. Less people were now coming here for fear of whatever might be killing the tourists here, and those people already dead were, of course, no longer there to pollute her paradise.

Erec was glad to have gotten out of his business suit for this mission and be able to switch to something more causal; a floral shirt (one of the more manly kinds, mind you), grey shorts, flip-flops, and a classy pair of sunglasses to block out the sun. He wore this not only so he would blend in a little better, but also because he wanted to enjoy his stay in Hawaii, if just a little. He was patrolling down one of the nicer areas when his “spider sense” started tingling. An ominous crowd had started to form at one of the stores, which was currently being guarded by a lone police officer. He got a little closer until he could peak through a window to see a body on the ground, but there was no blood or any sign of fowl play.

“Did the guy have a heart attack or something? This couldn’t be related to our investigation could it?” He thought to himself. He peaked in a little further, then quickly forced himself to look the other way. “Multiple casualties. That confirms my suspicion.”

He took a few steps back so he wouldn’t draw any attention in the crowd, then pulled out his cell phone and dialed Guinevere’s number. Like usual she didn’t answer him, so he gave her an update on the situation on her answering machine and left it at that. She had already told him to snoop around a little, so he decided that there wouldn’t be any harm in investigating this case. He walked casually up to the police officer, showing him his private investigator license, then asked, “What happened here?”

“Hmm…an investigator…okay, I’ll fill you in. Ten people dropped dead about eight minutes ago for no discernable reason. Right afterwards, someone who appeared to be a young woman ran in and stole nothing but a single a crystal. Very few people saw her and nobody could determine much about her identity besides her general height and weight,” the police officer explained. “I called for back-up, but our force is admittedly stretched very thin with all the investigating we’ve been doing recently.”

Erec looked passed the officer’s shoulder while he was talking to see a man inside. He wasn’t dressed in any uniform, but appeared to be doing some investigative work. What would someone like that be doing in a crime scene before any police back-up arrive?

“Either this officer isn’t very strict on who he lets in, or that guy is someone official,” Erec thought. Then he asked, “May I be let in as well?”

“Sorry. I can’t let just anyone in, even if you’re a private investigator. You would need some sort of government permission.” the police officer replied sternly. “These cases are quite serious.”

“So that man is with some government agency,” Erec thought to himself with a smile. “Glad you confirmed that.”

The government agent from inside walked up to him and started to say, “What’s the problem”, but stopped short before he could finish the sentence.

“What’s that about?” Erec thought, slightly perplexed by such a reaction. He replied by saying, “No problem. Actually, I was just curious as to what all this attention was about, but I can see now that things are quite serious. If I’m in the way I can leave.”

* * * * * * * * *

“I’d like to walk,” Guinevere replied to Mai’s question. She honestly didn’t like horses very much, or any animals for that matter, so being stuck behind one for any length of time would be far too distracting to her.

Suddenly she felt her phone vibrate against her leg in a certain pattern that showed that a call was coming from Erec. She reached down into her pocket and turned it off instead of answering it. That would just be another distraction for her, and if the call was really serious it would have been directed toward her second phone that she keeps with her for emergencies. Erec tended to make small talk when he was bored, which she didn’t feel like obliging at the time.

Mai nodded and then crossed her hands behind her as the two exited the building. Looking first left, then right, Mai turned towards the woman and studied her. Most tourists went to the same key places. The national wild-life park, the waterfalls, some trails, and then the beach. Hawaii was all about it's beauty, and only at night do they typically come inside and shop or eat.

Looking at the tourist, however, Mai wondered what she might be interested in. There WAS a museum here...perhaps she would be interested in that? She looked more like the intelligent type, rather than the outdoorsy type. Brushing a bit of smooth black hair out from the side of her face so she could better see the woman who was standing next to her, Mai turned and looked at the woman.

"Okay. Is there anything particular you feel like being taken to? I know this island like the back of my hand, there's something here for everyone. Do you like hiking, or florals? There are some of the best shops on the islands here as well, and there are a few museums and other historical points of interest..." She figured she might as well share most of the categories that fell on this island that most people tended to flock to.

Daria pulled her suitcase along the gravel drive way and opened up the door to her new hut in Princeville, Hawaii, for the first time.
"Wow.."She said softly. The hut didn't look like much from the outside, for it was just brick walls put together with a wooden roof, but it was fantastic. There were big windows with a view of the beach, an all wooden dining room, two bedrooms in which one had a queen sized bed and the other had a full sized bed, and the living room had a nice brown couch with windows all around it and a tv. She walked into the bathroom, which wasn't as nice as everything else, but still looked relatively nice with its fountain-like sink and spacious shower with glass doors. For being one of the cheapest areas in Princeville to live, it wasn't a bad deal.
Daria put her suitcase in her bedroom and got on some workout clothes to go to her new strength training place to help her get stronger when she uses her sword, even though she was already fairly experienced. She tied up her deep red hair in a ponytail and slipped on her running shoes, and grabbed her purse which contained lip balm, water, her phone, and some money to buy food afterwards. Then she grabbed her keys and ran out to her car.
While she opened the door and hopped in the car, she noticed a note was stuck on her windshield. She went outside for a minute and pulled off the sticky note. It read: Hope you had a good time getting settled in to your new house. Come by tomorrow and we'll give you the ropes. From, Guinevere. Guinevere was one of the people who were telling Daria about the incident that she had seen, and that Guinevere's group was doing research on it, and they asked her if she wanted to help out. That's why Daria had to move to Princeville, so that she could do work on the incident with them. Daria smiled with excitement, for she could not wait for tomorrow. She folded the note and put it in her purse, and then started her car again and pushed the gas pedal hard, just in case she was late to the strength training place.
------
Daria stepped out of the car, which was parked in front of her new strength training place. It was called "Princeville Workouts". Well, that's original, she thought. She locked her car with a button on her keys, and walked into Princeville Workouts.
She looked around to see people jogging on the treadmill and people lifting weights. She cocked her head in confusion. Where's the place where all of the people who work with swords and such go? She wondered. Then, she saw a small door that was open and looked like it leaded downstairs. She walked towards the door, and sure enough, there were people boxing and using their swords to swish through obstacles, and big, powerful instructors who were teaching them. This looks like so much more fun than the last place I went to, Daria thought to herself. She walked down the stairs slowly, being aware of her surroundings. A girl with straight black hair had been boxing, and had stopped to take a break as she pushed aside her long hair. Then, she stared at Daria and waved. Who is she? Daria thought. But, she didn't want to leave a look of confusion on her face like a dummy, so she smiled and walked towards the black-haired girl.
If you believe in me, i'll believe in you. <3

Mai had asked Guinevere where should would like to go, so she ran a mental checklist of the locations where most of the murders have taken place so far. The beach had a lot of the casualties, but she already knew how to get there. Hiking is too outdoorsy so she’ll leave that to someone else. The museum would be her favorite place, although no murders have taken place there. Still, it might come in handy in more ways then one. At the very least it will give her another place to think besides her hotel room.

“Everything you mentioned besides the more outdoorsy places would be fine for now,” she replied.

She kept quite for most of the tour, listing carefully to what her tour guide had to say and remembering how to get to any of the places that she mentioned or that Guinevere saw along the way that seemed interesting. Just for fun she was looking for some of her assistants as they traveled, but she only managed to catch sight of Lucan once. He stood out like a sore thumb, walking around the beach in a tuxedo. She giggled slightly, but quickly put her attention back to her tour guide. A lot of what she said could be helpful later on.

**********

Alexandria had visited her room to drop off the things used in the robbery and to change into an outfit more suitable for a workout, then was quickly out of her house again to catch up on her busy schedule. The robbery had taken longer than expected, and if she didn’t make it in time for her gymnastic practice at 7:00 pm then her coach would have a hissy fit. She still had about two hours left, plus the time she would need for dinner, but she would always go to Princeville Workouts beforehand for at least that amount. She almost considered skipping it all together and use that time to collect her thoughts on how to get the next crystal, but skipping the workout when she has gone nearly every day would look suspicious if someone was going to investigate her.

A few minutes into her warm up she saw a newcomer enter the room. The young woman was about her age and had red hair, something that she would have remembered, and the way she walked in showed that she wasn’t exactly familiar with the place. Alexandria’s heart wasn’t really into her workout today anyways, so she waved at the newcomer in hopes that she could procrastinate a little more. The young woman took the bait and walked over to her.

“Hey. You appear to be new here. I’m Alexandria Clarette,” she said politely, shaking her hand.

Alexandria knew never to judge a book by its cover, so she had a feeling like this young woman was tougher than she appeared. Most of the sports held at Princeville Workouts were divided into gender, and since she was the strongest girl in her age group she hoped that this newcomer could help shake things up a bit. She loved to win, but if she won every time it took a lot of the suspense out of her matches. She’d take a good fight over an easy win any day. She decided that she would ask her if she wanted to join any of the weekly tournaments after seeing how she did in workouts, and if her suspicions were correct.

Who is that guy?, Tony asked himself. First I see him in hotel, and then I see him trying to get in here.
Police officer said the man was private investigatior.
So, he may be investigating this murders too, huh? But, also... I must be careful about him.

Tony looked at his watch.
It's time for my medication.
He took small botle from his pocket, took one pillo from it, and drank it with water from bottle he borrowed from Cindy. It was a medication for his erectial dysfunction, an injury he got while apprehending a criminal two months ago. His squad completely surrounded that criminal and Tony approached him to arrest him. That moment was when he got strongly punched in "the area" by the criminal's leg.
Good thing I'm indestructible, and that I have insurance.
With insurance, he was able to treat the injury. The only thing left for recovery was for Tony to take the described pills.

Well, there's nothing more I can do here. Police will continue the job for now. They will inform me about anything they find out.
Tony approached Cindy and told her:
-Let's finally go to morgue. I'm really getting interested to see what they have... found.-

[Sorry for short post. I didn't had much inspiration, nor time to write it.]

Daria walked over to the black-haired girl. "Hi, I'm Alexandra Clarette," She said. Daria smiled.
"I'm Daria. Nice to meet you," She replied. Alex had a red and white gymnast outfit on that was quite flashy, but simple at the same time. She saw Alex as the girl who got along with everybody, but Daria didn't know. Daria also got the feeling that Alex was familiar."I feel like I know you from somewhere..."
"You do?" Alex replied. "I don't remember."
"Oh, okay, nevermind." Daria chuckled.
"So, are you new here?"
"Yeah...I train with swords and I was looking for a special place where I could practice."
"Oh yeah?" Alex said with a smile.
"Mhmm." Daria responded with confidence.
"Show me. I want to see," Alex said. "You don't have to show me if you don't want to, though."
"Oh, it's fine." Daria said. She steadied her sword in front of her face, and did her forward attack, which required spins, to make her opponent confused, and a final stab motion at the end that resembled the final movement of her sword that would kill the opponent. She relaxed and dropped her sword down and faced Alex.
"Impressive, I must say. You are a lot tougher than I expected," Alex replied.
"Haha, thanks. What can you do?" Daria asked.
"Oh, I do kickboxing and stuff like that, you know."
"Wow, that's awesome. Can I see some of your moves?" Daria urged on.
"Yeah, sure." Alex did some kind of flawless and impressive kickboxing move. It looked way better than her sword move. "You're really good! How long have you been training?" Daria asked.
"Not too long. But I'm not a beginner."
Daria grinned, and Alex grinned back, her black hair shining from the light above her head. Daria was excited to be with Alex. She had made a new friend.

"Okay! Then lets go..." Mai then started in the direction of the museum. It was an easy enough place to start off at. It wasn't like she was intending to walk through the museum with the woman, she could do that at her free time. Mai's job right now was to show the woman where everything interesting here was, and tell her a bit of information about it. With a bit of a bounce in her step, and a determined air about her, Mai decided that this woman wasn't as horrible as most of the tourists here, and that she could accept her as a person, rather than a pig like the other tourists.

As the two walked along the streets of Princeville, Mai shared her knowledge of the woman, all while trying to ignore the pigs that swarmed the streets they walked on. After about an hour, Mai had showed the woman all of the interesting places that most tourists enjoyed, and they finally returned to the hotel in a circle-like fashion.

When Mai finally got to the hotel, she bowed to the woman and said "I hope you enjoyed the tour. It's a bit lengthy on foot, but hopefully I was of some help..." she then smiled at the woman and looked towards the lobby of the building from the outside where she and Guinevere stood, and saw Akewaka coming out from behind his desk and walking their way. 'Oh no...' she thought to herself. She must have taken too long, and he was on her way out to warn her to watch for the boss, or something along those lines. Mai then noticed the look on his face, and knew it was something more important than that.

When Akewaka finally got out to them, he seemed like he was going to burst if he didn't instantly get the words out of his mouth, so she just looked at him, expectantly. Finally he seemed to burst. "Mai...It's horrible! Lee...He's dead. Everyone at the store is dead...everyone but the new guy there..." Mai's eyes were wide open at Akewaka's statement, and she couldn't believe it. Although she's killed several people since getting the stone that dangled from her neck now, the death of her one and only true friend here, shocked her. "H-How?" he must have been shot...or stabbed. Akewaka then shook his head and said "They say they all just dropped dead...Like they all died of cardiac arrest at the same time..."

Mai then froze. 'they all just dropped dead...' It...couldn't be? Mai's hand instantly raised to the necklace around her neck, rubbing the crystal gently. It was just like all her experiments. That's what the cops had all said about the deaths. 'They just dropped dead.'

"NO!" She then spun around and started running. Started running towards the store. She had to see with her own eyes. There was no way Lee could have been victim to the same crystal that she had power over. Mai hadn't been the one to wish for his death...so someone else MUST have a crystal with the same powers. Either that, or they were really good at finding a killing agent that left behind no traces as a sort of copycat method.

“Yes. You were a lot of help,” Guinevere replied. At the very least it gave her someone to walk around with while her assistants were busy, easing some of her fears and helping her focus. That was usually Lance’s job, but she let him go for now so he could explore a little.

It appeared like their business together was at an end, so she was about to walk away until she noticed some of the color flush from Mai’s face. Guinevere saw a man approaching into her peripheral vision, and by the looks of things the man was just as worried as Mai. Perhaps even more so.

“I wonder what happened? Probably none of my business…” she thought to herself, but she stuck around a little bit longer just in case.

"Mai...It's horrible! Lee...He's dead. Everyone at the store is dead...everyone but the new guy there...” the man said, struggling to keep his voice down.

Mai was clearly shocked at this statement, but who wouldn’t be? Well, Guinevere wasn’t entirely, but that’s only because she was used to this sort of thing and was here on a murder investigation, after all. She knew a deadly murderer was on the loose, although the thing that surprised her the most was that everyone in a store had been killed. Mai asked how this happened, and the man replied that they all appeared to drop dead like from cardiac arrest. Well, the cardiac arrest part was clearly not the case. This was the work of the mysterious murderer, no doubt about it. It was then that she remembered she had received a call from Erec some time ago. Could he have been calling about this? She went out of hearing range and called him back in order to find out.

“Hey, what happened?” She questioned as soon as he picked up.

“You found out about the store killing? I sent you some pictures, but there’s not much to gather from them. What is interesting, however, is that all the killer stole from the store was a single crystal,” Erec replied. “There is a witness here who claims that any employee who handled this crystal was forced to wear gloves. The boss said it was to avoid contaminating the crystal, but he himself never used gloves. Oh, and one last thing. The FBI is onto the case now. I just ran into one of them at the store.”

“Thanks for the information. Try to find out as much as you can about this store killing until our next meeting,” Guinevere said. Her voice was kept even toned during the call, but she was actually quite shocked about some of the information that she had received. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that the crystal held some significance to the case, but what? She went back to her suite to ponder what had just transpired.

***********

“I have two swords myself,” Alex explained to Daria after a lull in their conversation. “Although I can’t say that I’m as good with them as you are. With skills like that, I’d say you stand a chance of winning the sword fighting tournament Princeville Workouts is hosting tomorrow. I usually join all the weekly tournaments, so I hope to see you there.”

Running as fast as her feet could carry her, Mai managed to get to the store shortly. As she arrived, Mai saw the police force starting to dissipate, except for the few people left investigating the crime scenes. Since she's gotten a hold on the crystal, Mai's seen more and more crime scenes, and knew that all the bodies had been moved by now, and the crime scene was now off limits.

Walking up to one of the officers on duty, a young blond haired boy, Mai asked him "What...What happened?" the man turned to her and saw in her eyes that despite her cute appearance, she knew exactly what was going on, and shared a little bit of information. Normally cops couldn't share any information like this, but the boy seemed new. probably because of all the new deaths, the police needed more men.

"Another mysterious death...all of the workers, spare one, just dropped dead..." The man then stretched his arm out to prevent the girl from rushing into the store to see for her own eyes. The bodies were all gone, but the outline of the bodies, as well as pictures, were all at the spots they died at. She would be able to see how he’d died…and if he’d been in any pain.

When she couldn’t go in to see, Mai turned towards the man, desperation in her face. ”Could…Could it be chemicals? Or…some sort of gas? They couldn’t of just…dropped dead!” Although she knew it was perfectly possible, she didn’t want to believe that a crystal just like hers existed out there. The man then put a comforting hand on her shoulder and said, “We already checked for that…there’s nothing readable in the air that could have caused spontaneous heart attacks like that…”

Despite the man’s efforts, the hand wasn’t comforting at all. Swatting the man’s hand away from her shoulder, Mai turned and started running towards the morgue. She had to see him for herself. As main ran, she could feel the crystal necklace bouncing on its string between her breast. If only she could find out who did it…she’d be able to punish them for such an act.

“Probably…a tourist…” It had to be! She was the only one on the island with that power that she knew of. Plus, no local would kill their own. Not on this peaceful Island.

After a good amount of running, Mai finally got to the morgue. It wasn’t easy convincing the people there to allow her to go in, but finally after saying she was Lee’s girlfriend, which was a lie, they allowed her in to ‘confirm’ it was him.

When she finally got to the room that held the bodies, Mai saw a pair of people that were out of the norm of people in there. ’They must be cops…’ she thought to herself. Walking up to the man and woman, Mai looked them over. They didn’t look like regular ol cops though…

”Are you guys FBI?”

Tony was the one that was driving to the morgue. While he was driving, he was in deep thoughts.
All employees, except one, including boss, dead. No wounds. No strangling marks. No burn marks. Absolutely nothing. It's the work of Ghost killer, alright.
All the crimes of the century. Perfect crimes. No evidence of anything. Nothing can lead us to the murder weapon, or weapons, nor the GK, or GKs. If this continues, human society will most likely fall into the chaos. And as it appeares, it will most likely continue.

They arrived to the morgue.
-Let's see- Tony said, -if something was found this time.-
-Yeah, right- Cindy said back.
I can't blame her for such an attitude.

The couple entered. Air inside was a bit cooler.
This is to be expected. After all, there are corpses inside, and police force can't allow them to rot due the heat.
They were instructed to which room they should go and then they went there.
Inside they found a man, already doing autopsy on one body. Tony approached him.
-Hello. I'm FBI officer Tony Jefer.-
He showed the man his badge.
-And this is my partner, Cindy Baker.-
-Greetings- man replied. -I am Matthew Jason Powers, main man here.-
Tony looked at Powers. He was 34 years old man with blond short hair, short nose, and green hair. He was dressed in all the gear needed for coroner. [I hope I used the correct term here.]
.Can we immidiately get to bussiness? We're already running late, and all that.-
-Yeah, sure. I already opened the victim, as you can probably clearly see. Just follow, okay?-
Matthew took the microfone and started speaking.
-Conclusion is, victim has no visible injuries, that would indicate stabing or shooting, nor any marks that would indicate strangling, burning or death by poison or some other, similar cause. Victim's metabolism futher reflects this. Only cause that could lead to the possible COD are some clues that would indicate heart attack, but nothing decisive. With this, I finish the autopsy of Tavish DeGroot.-
Then, he turned off the microfone.
Tony looked at the victim's face. It was black guy, with short black hair, brown eyes...
Wait, what's this?
Victim's left eye didn't had any color at all.
-Can you tell me, did his eye endured some sort of damage?-
-According to his medical history, yes. Job accident. Since then, he is, was, wearing an eye patch.-
-I see...-
-So, could you tell this case fits the Ghost killer's M.O.?- Cindy asked.
-In my opinion, yes. There aren't any discrepanci...-
At that moment, he was interrupted by a person entering the room. All three of them turned to that person.
-Are you guys FBI?-

It was a woman.
-Yes- Tony replied. He introduced himself and Cindy to her. -But, who are you and who let you inside here?-

When the man replied that he was, in fact, FBI and then introduced him and his female partner, Mai smiled. That meant there were real cops here that might be able to catch the one in charge of killing Lee. If she could get close to them, she might also be able to get away with her own murders and they'd never suspect her. The man then asked who she was, and how she got in. Mai's eyes then darted to the side and looked at the bodies to see if she could see Lee anywhere. When she couldn't see him due to him probably still being in a body bag, Mai turned back to the man and his partner.

"I...My boyfriend got killed...At the store. One of the mysteriously murdered. I want...I want to help you in any way I can to catch the killer!" It was then that it occurred to her that they might not have realized that the reason of death was murder. Right now they were looking into mysterious deaths, and although death on this large of scale is more likely a mass murderer, people generally looked at injured victims to be a non physical death. But then again there was always a way of chemicals and such.

”Please…Don’t deny me. I…I loved him.” that was a lie, but being an actress she was able to fake it so well, no one would tell the difference. No one. She even managed to tear up a little, it looked so real too.

Tony listened to Mai telling her reason to be here. Apparantely, one of the victims was her boyfriend.
(Oh, crap). This is really what I needed right now.
"Can you tell us his description?"
Mai replied with detailed answer.
"Mr. Powers, please lead the lady to the victim that fits this. Just for confirmation."
"Sure" the man replied, and then led Mai to nearby body bag.

"What do you think, Toni?"
"Well, for starters, I think she might represent a nuisance for us. Since she was emotionally related to one of the victims, she might want to have some part in investigations. That is something I don't want to happen, since she might be distracting us in a process."
"Yeah, I think there was something about that in training."
"Pretty much."
At that moment, silent cry reached them.

Well, looks like it is him. Great.
Toni approached Mai.
"Is that him?"
She lightly nodded.
"In that case, we would like to ask you some questions. For beginning..."
Let's see...
"It is possible those murders were done with some gas. Evidence for that isn't decisive enough, but currently, it's the most likely explanation. Do you, by any chance, know who might wanted to do this?"

[Notice he didn't noticed she said 'murder'. Also, what Toni says and thinks in Croatian will be showed like (this).]

Guinevere and Lucan were the only two people in her suite, but she had been gathering a lot of information by phone so calling them over was not necessary for now. She already had one boring meeting today anyways, and one was enough for one day. Instead, she was currently engaged in making finger paint art and thinking about what she currently knew about the case. Suddenly, the phone rang and her hands were much too sloppy with paint for her to pick it up. Luckily, she always thought ahead and had Lucan with her for jobs such as this. He turned it on and held it up to her ear while she continued with her artwork.

“Guinevere speaking,” she said.

“Hey. Just thought I’d let you know, I’m at the morgue right now and the same FBI agent who spoke with Erec has shown up here, as well as a really curious girl. She’s related to one of the victims and it appears like she is teaming up with the FBI,” Igraine explained.

“The girl is Asian, correct?”

“Yeah.”

“Thought so. Her name is Mai. I ran into her earlier, and by the sound of things we’ll be seeing a lot more of her then I originally thought.”

“Alright. By the way, the FBI agent believes that this is the work of some type of gas,” Igraine mentioned.

“Yes, but that doesn’t explain why some people have kicked the bucket while with a group of people who survived. Why is this murder weapon so selective in some cases, but in other cases wipes out an entire building’s worth of people…save one, at least,” Guinevere replied.

“Maybe this was the work of gas while the other cases were something else?” Igraine suggested. “The survivor may have been in a pocket of air not covered by the gas. He was in another room when everyone else dropped, so it’s a possibility.”

“Did anyone check for gas leaks? What about autopsy reports?”

“Nothing conclusive yet.”

“Just stay at the morgue for now and call me again if anything fishy shows up.”

“Roger that.”

With that, Guinevere singled for Lucan to hang up and place her phone back on the table. Her attention went back to her art, and for the first time she noticed that, while talking to Igraine, she had been subconsciously making the painting into the likeness of two FBI agents and Mai. Her curiosity was aroused by the fact that the first person she met here ended up meeting with the FBI agent Erec met, and said FBI agent and Mai will be working on the case together in rivalry of Guinevere and her company. She wondered if they would get in the way of her investigation, but over all she didn’t consider it to be too bad. Just odd.

“You weren’t just referring to the possibility of gas earlier, were you?” Lucan asked out of the blue. “You were wondering why the murderer killed off that whole room, when normally he or she was much more selective. Gas has nothing to do with either case, correct?”

“You read me like a book. I still believe that this is the work of this same power, I just have to find out how, and why the sudden change of pace.”

She dipped her hands in blue paint and smudged all over her previous image until it was completely unrecognizable. She didn’t want to leave evidence of being associated with any particular person, and a painting of someone could arouse suspicion depending on who it was who saw it. She handed the painting to Lucan so he could dispose of it, and then reached for another sheet of paper.
